The Boulevard is a MUST whether you're a local or visitor! A nice little hole in the wall LGBTQ+ bar with pool, karaoke, and great deals. Steve's service was amazing and hospitable! I'm not from here but he made me feel so safe, at home, and welcomed at the Boulevard! Drinks were made in less than a minute and the deals were amazing. I went with a friend who she and I played pool, danced in the back room, and sat at the bar sipping onto our drinks made with love... Will definitely be returning soon!! Made my California experience unforgettable!!!!!

    Margarita with Tajín Rim

Came here a few weeks ago after one of the most stressful weeks I've had a in a while.. one of those where you get off a shift and and just want a nice buzz and a meal before bed lol. I stopped by at around 11:30pm on a Sunday. I was able to find street parking very close since I stopped by when I assumed it would be slow. The inside was small but very nice with the lots of pride decor everywhere. Thankfully there were only about 8 other people in there at the time so it was very chill and I was able to enjoy my drinks in peace. The bartender was nice, he offered a Tajín rim instead of salt on the margarita which I always appreciate! Only cash with an ATM in the back, I cant remember how much each marg was but it was either $8 or $10. Overall a pleasant experience. I'm sure it gets poppin on the weekends here and would be better with a group, maybe I'll be back with friends!

Yes!!! Such a great time at The Boulevard. Love the gay hangs, with good vibes and great entertainment Park in the residential area around the corner (No parking lot) CASH ONLY AT THE BAR $3 atm in the corner No cover Proof of vaccination & ID at the door Fridays are Karoke & @ 11pm an amazing Drag Show, hosted by the fabulous Portia ensues! Drinks are decently priced, served by shirtless dudes with smiles and friendly service ($28 for 3 gin and gingers, about $9.50 each) 1 free pool table Not a typical gay bar with porn on the TV screens, but a clean and friendly place to call home. To enjoy a drink, sing some songs (or watch those that have the balls to sing, noone is judged here!) And watch some great drag performances. A great place to celebrate a birthday or have a fun night out. Gay or straight, a judgment free zone where the love and booze be flowing. A great time for all. Portia mcing was amazing! She really brings the house down and has a great energy! Catch her hosting every Friday and bring those $1 bills for the queens!!

Always a happy place to be , where you can be yourself without judgement. I celebrated my birthday here last night and the show was awesome ! Drag queens were full of energy . A place to unwind after long day at work, sing your heart out at their karaoke nights . I support this epic place and I support LGBTQ ‍ and we support Steve .

Love this dive bar!!! Couldn't ask for more. Strong drinks. Pool table. Karaoke. Locals. Friendly bartender. This was my first time at a lgbtq bar and my first drag show. I'm heterosexual and married but was in town one night only and wanted to sing karaoke and this was the only option. I had a blast! Yes there are particular rules but I did my research and walked in asking questions (yes a bit of BDE ) the bartender was amazing the queens were amazing I appreciated that the KJ sanitized the mic after each performance. And I got some good notes from the queens . So...bring cash. Don't be pretentious. Enjoy

"Hooker," Steve's amazing dog, feeling at home :)

Popped by here on a whim the Sunday before Christmas while friends from the OC were in Pasadena on a staycation and had one of the most memorable experiences. As soon as we walked in, we knew this was our spot for the night and many others in the future if we are in the area. And this was all driven by...STEVE. Steve is warm, wonderful, funny, sarcastic, proud of his establishment. Judging by all the regulars that swung by throughout the night and seeing his warm interaction with them, you know he and this bar are loved. The space is cozy and clean, complete with a pool table and a mini stage for karaoke (or drag shows!) Karoake brings the people together and that happened here for sure. Steve subs in as the DJ as well, and his energy and outlook just cracked me up. I'll be honest, my friends chose this place because they were seeking a gay bar for the night, were curious about the spot based on what they read online AND amused by Steve's responses to the 1-star reviews on here. We heard the backstory for each and let's just say, those are the "yelpers" that give us a bad rap, the ones who threaten owners negative yelp reviews for bad experiences that are due to THEIR fault. Check it out for yourself - you won't be disappointed. And Steve, I hope to be back soon.

Boulevard is like going back in time and space.... Perhaps Des Moines in 1980. A classic dive hole in a wall in a good way. The bartender is old school...a bit cranky, amiable, droll, with lots of May West-W.C Fieldesque one liners. Full bar for basic cocktails and then some. Don't expect elaborate mixology and craft beers. However, try Steve's Rootbeer Float which is a sweet dessert drink with flavours of coffee, orange rind, cinnamon, cloves, allspice in a complex heavy cream medley. I fell in on a Wednesday, and it was Karaoke (kah rah oh keh) night by 9:30pm. Downhome with the bartender also acting as the MC. Very retro, small town feel. If you want more flash, razzle dazzle, go 30 miles west to Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood. 4- Yelp stars.

This was a lot of fun to get strong drinks and spectate kareoke! Definitely recommend, will come back if we are in the area again

It was a great place for some casual, mildly literary drinking on a Thursday night. The bar was in an alley, and I was happy to find free, easy street parking right outside the alley entrance. The alley was well lit enough that it didn't feel sketchy, though if I were inclined to beat someone up, this would probably be a convenient place to do it. The space was slightly below ground, down a flight of stairs from the alley. It felt like an Irish pub/sports bar with a tap list of California beers in addition to Coors Light and Guinness. Service was friendly and reasonably fast. I had a Made West Hazy IPA and a Pizza Port Amber, both of which I've had and enjoyed several times in several places over the years. I also ate some fries that were lying around, probably but not certainly by someone I at least sort of know. They weren't bad. I live kind of far from Pasadena and T. Boyle's isn't a destination bar, but I'd come back for another round or two after Vroman's. It's a comfortable spot with good draft beer, where you can relax and have some conversations.

Felt as though I were in México, not in Distrito Federal but in a less cosmopolitan city where in the old days Straights and Gays kind of mixed together although in some bigger venues there were areas where Gays had their own corner. The lip of the huge mug is lined with a salty, not very piquant chile powder like El Tajín. It's a refreshing, savory, Umami bomb just perfect on a hot day or night. My first Michelada ever. So I look around and it seems like a regular neighborhood Latino bar. If there are any Gays they were sprinkled around and not particularly & obviously visible. The friendly bartendress offered a free plate of antojitos / snacks which consisted of a small Tamal de Puerco con Salsa de Chile Colorado, and a bowl of Bírria soup in consommé w/ a small piece of goat. To me this Bírria tasted closer to a Pozole. Very hospitable gesture by Redz to give out such a tasty mini-meal. Redz caters to an East Los Angeles clientele. It's a liitle piece of México. Music is loud with Norteño & Son Afro-Mexican music from Veracruz tonight. I felt comfortable, and a nice Latina lady sitting next to me talked in her limited English and I in limited Spanish. The negative I have is the lack of details for the show. Perhaps I wasn't looking on the website thoroughly but there wasn't anything about show start time, brunch, etc. As it was our first time, it would've been helpful (minor negative). Also, I wasn't aware of the 18% they tack onto the bill for the brunch, but it is on their website, so a heads up. The locations itself is on the 2nd floor above the Cheese Superette and Lüstern. We weren't sure where exactly the entrance was as it can be easy to miss, but the small overhang sign for it can be see. What's more easily identifiable is the pride flag over it. We got there fairly early so killed time before. Security out front checks IDs then let's you in. And it's a short walk up a flight of stairs to get to the Precinct. Pretty decent sized space with several bar areas. The brunch spot was separate from the rest of the space with a stage in front of the video screens. The host scanned our tickets and then took us to our table which I reserved the a hightop for 2. All the tables were set for the brunch service and show. Anthony our server and who I think was also bartending took our order explaining to us that the show was sold out and that ordering early is suggested before it gets busy. We took a look at the menu and decided on the Peach Bourbon French Toast and Coco's Chilaquilles with chicken along with some much needed coffee. Anthony as well as the rest of the staff were fantastic, checking up on us and refilling our coffees and water, seeing if we needed anything else. Food was delicious, Chilaquilles were delicious, lots of chicken, chips crispy under the sauce, perfect over easy eggs alongside my side of bacon which was also cooked perfeclty. The Peach Bourbon French Toast was good as well. Large peach slices that delicous bourbon sauce over lightly fried french toast. The tots was super crispy too. Delicious. Now onto the show. It was fantastic, all the performers were exceptional, I loved how they covered every part of the brunch space really utilizing it as their performance area. At the beginning and in the middle they come around if you need change for $1's which is super helpful if you hadn't brought smaller bills for tipping the performers. Outfits were on point, the host was fantastic, singing their song, interacting with the crowd and also keeping the show moving along. They did invite birthdays to come up and lip sync for their life...well for a complimentary shot. What's not to love with Disney and drag? At the end you could go up to the performers to interact and take pictures...I'm terrible with names but they were so great. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely come again!

Artesia Bar, your Redondo Beach must!…read more This South Bay gem located on the street it's named after on Artesia Blvd has no private parking, but surprisingly a good amount of street parking and is open 7 days a week from 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM, 7PM on Mondays. Happy Hour all night on Mondays only as well as until Until 8 PM all those other days in a full week (Tuesday through Sunday). They have karaoke nights, drag shows, drag bingo, game/trivia nights, leather nights, special events like the one I attended, plus more! Bar seating, table seating (tall tables) and patio seating with some great lighting. TVs, KJs and DJs, cool sound system and gender neutral restrooms. The only queer bar in all of Los Angeles Counties, South Bay area and it's a good one! Love the bar staff we met including my pal Nick (one of the KJs), Erick (crazy kind and handsome bartender) and Miss Georgia Line (one of the incredible owners and performers). Drinks are delicious and reasonable. They also have snacks like chips or candy for sale. Artesia Bar is local to a lot, including a few walkable eateries for a bigger meal before, after or returning to the bar. The crowd shifts as the night goes on, more people trickling in after 9pm and beyond. I did come here once many years ago before newer ownership (2024 to present), but it didn't leave quite the impression like it has in more recent times. Great place to celebrate the start of pride season. All inclusive, that includes allies! If you'd like to inquire about events or book an event you can email them at ArtesiaBar.RB@gmail.com. Frequent updates on their social media, Facebook and Instagram. Sashay in to this fun time den.

In addition, I cannot get over how fun their karaoke nights are. I used to frequent Broadway Bar in Long Beach for this but after the terrible service and the fact that the dj would limit customers to what they can sing, I was blown away when the dj here allowed customers to sing any song they wanted. Keep up the great work Artesia!
