Love Precinct. Probably my favorite gay bar in LA. The plastic WeHo clones are often delightfully absent. Themes and events are fun. The crowd is always diverse and friendly. San Diego Lesbian visiting this spot for the first time and I loved it!! Will say as a cane user, they do have an elevator, so make sure to ask if you need help with the stairs. Love the vibe of this bar. Very gay, masculine, and leather focus. The lay out is amazing, it's deceptively large! Huge outdoor section and a massive dance floor and bar area. We ordered some of their drinks, all were absolutely amazing. We also got some food which was great! Especially for bar food. There was a leather vendor there and they also had books! My fiancee got to pick out a collar which she loved! This bar also is so ADA friendly. The space was huge and very lovable and then the bathroom was large and nice!! My complaint about bars in general is usually the ADA aspect. So seeing how great this one was, was awesome. We will definitely be back whenever we are in town! read more

I was looking for an event type of thing to take my boyfriend to for his birthday and came across the Disney Drag Show Brunch on Eventbrite. What a fun time! The negative I have is the lack of details for the show. Perhaps I wasn't looking on the website thoroughly but there wasn't anything about show start time, brunch, etc. As it was our first time, it would've been helpful (minor negative). Also, I wasn't aware of the 18% they tack onto the bill for the brunch, but it is on their website, so a heads up. The locations itself is on the 2nd floor above the Cheese Superette and Lüstern. We weren't sure where exactly the entrance was as it can be easy to miss, but the small overhang sign for it can be see. What's more easily identifiable is the pride flag over it. We got there fairly early so killed time before. Security out front checks IDs then let's you in. And it's a short walk up a flight of stairs to get to the Precinct. Pretty decent sized space with several bar areas. The brunch spot was separate from the rest of the space with a stage in front of the video screens. The host scanned our tickets and then took us to our table which I reserved the a hightop for 2. All the tables were set for the brunch service and show. Anthony our server and who I think was also bartending took our order explaining to us that the show was sold out and that ordering early is suggested before it gets busy. We took a look at the menu and decided on the Peach Bourbon French Toast and Coco's Chilaquilles with chicken along with some much needed coffee. Anthony as well as the rest of the staff were fantastic, checking up on us and refilling our coffees and water, seeing if we needed anything else. Food was delicious, Chilaquilles were delicious, lots of chicken, chips crispy under the sauce, perfect over easy eggs alongside my side of bacon which was also cooked perfeclty. The Peach Bourbon French Toast was good as well. Large peach slices that delicous bourbon sauce over lightly fried french toast. The tots was super crispy too. Delicious. Now onto the show. It was fantastic, all the performers were exceptional, I loved how they covered every part of the brunch space really utilizing it as their performance area. At the beginning and in the middle they come around if you need change for $1's which is super helpful if you hadn't brought smaller bills for tipping the performers. Outfits were on point, the host was fantastic, singing their song, interacting with the crowd and also keeping the show moving along. They did invite birthdays to come up and lip sync for their life...well for a complimentary shot. What's not to love with Disney and drag? At the end you could go up to the performers to interact and take pictures...I'm terrible with names but they were so great. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely come again! read more

If there's a cash cover for the afternoon or night, they do have an atm right outside the door after you make your way in from Broadway (have a valid form of ID), down the hall and up the stairs to the top where this lofty club invites you in for it's fun. From the spacious covered patio, to the nooks, main bar area, wide halls and main room w/ stage, dance floor, dj booth and another bar. Precinct has a lot to offer. I don't make it to DTLA too often, but do enjoy stopping in here as well as Lustern, queer owned clothing store next door, when I am. Precinct hosts lots of vendors on their patio space, especially for huge events. Vendors include non profits, artists, clothing, gear, accessories, treats and more. Open six days a week, closed on Mondays, and doing their best to celebrate and support all in LA. The bartenders are amazing especially Dan and Simon. Say hey to Ray, the current Precinct Leather 2025, Harwick, the previous Precinct Leather 2024, the bar manager Jeremy and literally any of the staff who make Precinct what it is each week and day. Came here for my friend's birthday get together on Latin night. It's located inside an older building. They are located on the same street as Grand Central Market a few doors down. You enter through a door and go up a flight of steps to the main entrance. It's a pretty big layout with multiple bars and then a side area for sitting or smoking as there's windows that open up to the outside. I did not drink or eat anything here. I was a little bit hesitant to go because it's a gay bar with mostly males and I didn't want to get the, "What is she doing here?" look, but nobody gave a eff. Everyone was pretty much in their own world and mainly socializing and catching up with each other. In the main room there were go-go dancers and I got to meet Greg since my friend is friend's with Greg's friend and he was my favorite dancer! Aside from that, I surprisingly had the best time!I was planning on leaving 45 minutes after I got there because I was tired and I thought it would be awkward, but I ended up staying until 1 a.m. straight dancing my ass off because the music was that good! I took a break around 12:45 am because it was getting hot in there and when I went back to the dance floor the music got super loud and more crowded and I became super aware and overstimulated and called it a night. If you're looking for a fun time with friends Precinct is a vibe and the people that work there and just overall patrons are friendly and in a good mood. Precinct itself is fantastic--the food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff and service are excellent. I'd absolutely come back to the venue. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the Golden Girls Drag Brunch. The event was advertised with Jackie Beat as one of the headliners, which was a major reason we bought tickets. It wasn't until we had already finished our brunch that Sherry Vine came on stage and announced that Jackie Beat would not be appearing. At first, much of the audience thought it was part of the act because of how late the announcement came. Sherry then explained that Jackie had accepted another job at The Broad two months earlier. If that's the case, the organizers had plenty of advance notice that Jackie wouldn't be performing. Continuing to advertise her appearance without informing ticket holders beforehand felt misleading. By the time we learned the truth, we'd already committed to the event and brunch. Unfortunately, the performance itself didn't make up for the disappointment. We left about 15 minutes into the show because we simply weren't enjoying it. To us, the material felt dated, and much of Sherry Vine's performance came across as filler rather than a polished headlining act. It felt as though the show was stretching to fill time, and it wasn't entertaining enough to keep us there. I don't fault someone for accepting another professional opportunity. What I do take issue with is the lack of transparency. Had attendees been notified in advance, they could have decided whether they still wanted to attend or request a refund. As a result, this experience significantly damaged my trust in future events promoted by Sherry Vine and Jackie Beat. Accurate advertising and timely communication matter, especially when a performer's name is used to sell tickets. To be clear, this review is not about Precinct. The venue, food, drinks, and staff were all excellent. My criticism is directed solely at the promotion and quality of this particular event. read more

I left a review about having a scary non-alcohol-related medical episode resulting in fainting -- and then getting berated and forced to leave the bar without being listened to, despite being fully coherent and needing help. The manager of the bar left an insulting response, called me a Karen, and insisted that "according to security footage", that I lied about the experience. I had hoped and assumed that my bad experience was a one off. Now it's apparent that an attitude of berating and not believing women is the culture of management here at every level from the top down. If you decide to come here, please watch your back and your friends' backs because things can get scary. read more

Brought my daughter and her friends here to celebrate one of their birthdays. Unfortunately, we did not love our experience. From security to the bartenders, everyone had a major attitude. I don't understand why it's so hard to say hello or smile like a decent human being. Well, after the manager's response, I can confidently say one thing: listening clearly isn't on the menu here -- right alongside donuts. Let me clarify a few things since reading comprehension seems to be a challenge: My donut was in a sealed bag, tucked away like a secret, minding its own sugary business. Meanwhile, Homeboy Security Guard let us stand inside for a good 5-10 minutes before suddenly materializing out of thin air like he was auditioning for Ghost Adventures, demanding my 70-year-old mother's ID and talking to us like we were trying to smuggle contraband instead of a pastry. I've worked in customer service my entire adult life, and I promise you -- if this is what "exactly what they're supposed to do" looks like, I'd be deeply concerned if I were the owner. Respect for paying customers seems to be the one item your establishment consistently forgets to serve. But hey, if the goal is to keep the place empty enough to "cater to those 10 people," mission accomplished. Maybe worry less about sealed donuts and more about why you only have 10 people. No worries, though -- I'll spend my money somewhere that knows the difference between following the law and just being rude. read more

It's unfortunate to hear that they are doing bad amid legal troubles but after coming here on a Sunday night, it's clear they aren't just doing bad just because of the legal troubles but because this place is so poorly managed. Precinct has a killer ambiance with gorgeous art and posters all over. Staff members have always been super friendly and attentive whenever we visit. Overall, the vibe feels safe, which is really important to us as a lesbian couple and for me as a non-binary trans person (so many spots in LA have been neither welcoming nor safe, so we really appreciate Precinct for getting this vibe and community space right). Admittedly, I haven't been here for anything other than drag brunch yet, but I will say upfront that this is our go-to spot for drag brunch in LA and our favorite place to bring our friends. Service is great (fast, attentive, and kind servers), and the food is awesome. I will note that I have only ever had the peach brandy pancakes because I can't bring myself to order anything else -- it's SO good. Drinks are strong and tasty. The bartenders are great, the community is amazing, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. However, I had a bad experience today with someone working clothes check. At the beginning of the night, my partner checked his clothes and we got a ticket. After we had a super fun night, and when we went to get our clothing back, I noticed I lost our ticket. I looked around where I was standing and found what I thought was my ticket (which it wasn't). I understand staff must be frustrated with people losing tickets or giving the wrong ticket all the time. I don't blame them for getting agitated with us. The major issue that caused a 5-star visit to become a 2-star experience is that the person working the clothing check (the guy in the jock strap with a blue cap with a capital letter S on it), reached across the table with two fingers and pushed my husband away when trying to explain our situation to him and a manager. I can understand saying to leave, or even saying you will have to wait till the end of the night to find your clothing. What is not okay is putting your hands on someone (which is battery) because you want to shoo someone away. This bar was advertised as a safe community space for queer DTLA people... well we don't feel that safe when staff feels like they can put their hands on patrons. Been here a few times. It's a really large queer space. Cool artwork on the walls. They have a whole stage area for shows. Bartenders seemed cool. I had some fried bar food which was... you're average fried bar food. But you're not coming here for any of that. I don't love the area in downtown. Parking is annoying. And in general I just don't love downtown. This place also gets crowded and has a dingy sorta dive bar feel when you get past the queer art in the entrance. It's not a bad place if you are queer. (And typically male). It's just not a place I have any major desire to return to. read more

Hands down my favorite LGBTQ+ bar in LA, no contest whatsoever. This place just has the correct vibes at all time. Being that I visit LA at least once every other month, I always make it a point to spend as much time as possible here. The crowd is fun, unpretentious, queer, and always down for a good time. The events at Precinct are always amazing, my favorite is Fat Slut which happens every third Friday of the month and is literally the most insanely fun and outrageous event I've ever been to at a gay club; a must go. Such an amazing time!! This was our first drag brunch at the Precinct. We arrived with a reservation and were quickly escorted to our seats. It was a fairly small room for the show and we didn't have the best seats, somewhere in the far right corner of the stage, so we couldn't see the stage well. However, the performers were all so amazing and thankfully most of their acts were off the stage and among the crowd, so the seats weren't really an issue. Food selection was your standard brunch options. Chicken and waffles, omletes, breakfast burrito etc. And bottomless mimosas for $15 bux. The food was ok, we had the mushroom and spinach omlete, chicken and waffles, strawberry waffles and a vegan burrito. The omlete was good, pretty large and stuffed with all the veggie goodness. I found the chicken from the chicken and waffles a little bland but the waffles were pretty spot on. The performers were all AMAZING. They were so sweet and very talented! We had such a great time and definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and vibes. We loved it and will be back!! read more

So I was hesitant to go downtown for a bar. I mean, parking alone scares me. Well, it was not too hard. Valet parking, pay lots, and street options abound. A gay bar that charges a $10 cover better be fun. IT WAS so worth it! Not too crowded and the staff was over the top nice. Classy touches, for instance... a guy bumped my friend, who just bought a fancy shot. About 1/3 of it spilled into my friend. The bartender walked around the bar to my friend and gave him a napkin to wipe his hand, then poured the shot back full. Who does this? Precinct did. Also, with the decline of gay bars, let alone fetish/leather bars, I was tickled to see a good amount leather and some latex. Only a few spectators. The music was great and the crowd friendly. Horrible. I was here with my friends having a good time and the white manager Jeremy accused my friend of not following his instructions. My friend vaped once or twice, and we never saw Jeremy the entire night. Jeremy claims that he told my friend to stop vaping 3 times but that never happened because we were with him the entire night. He told us it was caught on camera so we told him to check. He came back and us told we walked past him... so he never said a thing to us. It's disappointing yet predictable that Jeremy would pick on my friend considering that there are allegations of him being transphobic and racist. Imagine being either of those things and being a manager at a gay bar. We ended up being kicked out of the bar because the MANAGER could not admit to his shortcomings and oversight. Absolutely ridiculous. Jeremy is completely unbecoming of a manager and he should be relieved of his duties immediately. I've been a patron at this bar for almost a decade and I've never seen anyone treated like this before. We will not be returning. read more

I have been coming to Precinct for several years now, it's become one of my favorite spots in all of Los Angeles. They host a plethora of weekly events, everything from Drag Fridays, dance club Saturdays, and brunch/bear bust Sundays. I try to make it here at least once a month, which usually tends to come on Saturdays as I have moved a little further up north and it's becoming more difficult for me to come out on Fridays. My two favorite events have to be Puteria and Mega Woof. The music is always really good and the crowd is always fun to look at. My recommendation is to try and be inside by 10 as showing up any later than that will probably result in you having to wait in a line. There is typically a cash cover, but the bar also has an ATM ready for your convenience. If you're hungry, they also sell food and my two favorite items are the buffalo cauliflower and chicken strips with fries. read more
