It's been decades since I was last here which I didn't even know it's now a new name. This place used to be where we would pop in for a drink before heading out for the night. Fast forward to now, it's brings the same feeling but a whole different vibe now. It's more of a nice lounge atmosphere with big comfy couches and seating along the front. A more comfortable and intimate feeling when you're enjoying your drinks and conversation. The bar is still at the same location along the side of the wall. There's also a little seating area towards the back and a nice patio to the side. Most people were utilizing it as it was nice out in Long Beach. Restrooms are still at the same spot as well. Along the other side of the wall right across from the bar. They do have seating along the bar counter but it does get quite busy with people waiting to order drinks. So it tends to be packed right around there. We were bar hopping and ended here for the night. There was only one bartender so he was pretty busy. Mellow when we arrived but it picked up pretty fast. I think they also have different events held here but not quite sure. Some of the other patrons were talking about it which I overheard. Outdoor seating, and though not a restaurant, a few taco stands setup right outside. The drink specials are phenomenal and they don't water down their drinks. Also a good note, they carry a few brands of tequila that are real and made with 100% pure agave, which is LITTYY. Great LGBT place. read more

Great new place for gay men to have of their own, the Brit was tired and empty. The new owners really did a good job with the space, some actual seating up front, patio in the back and standing room only in the middle. The design is very fun themed about men's rooms. The crowd was mostly gay men not as mixed as some of the other "queer" bars with the LGBTQIA++XYZ attention seekers. But there were a couple woman there. One male dancer, not my type but at least just men and not pretending to be a everything for everyone like the Abby. read more

Although I was sad to see The Brit leave, I'm so happy to see Men's Room arrive! I have to give credit to the Men's Room folks because every aspect of this bar is thoughtful and well done. The drinks are innovative but if you're like I am, you can enjoy a basic cocktail as well. The decor and service provided by top notch bartenders is spot on and the presence of this new bar, unexpectedly elevates the entire gayborhood in a way that was very necessary. I honestly didn't realize that our Long Beach LGBT+ community was missing an upscale bar like WeHo, Hillcrest, Palm Springs, etc and now that we have it, I'm so excited to go out on a Friday night or enjoy a Sunday Funday beverage in a beautiful atmosphere. Unlike neighboring bars, this establishment actually takes cards as payments.... such a relief!Take my advice and enjoy a refreshing cold one in the patio. I have been to the men's room several times since its opened and have always had a good time. They did a really good job with the upgrades and I love how they still have the phone booth from the Brit (the bar it was previously). The bartenders have all been friendly and drinks are good. It can get really crowded on the weekends and for pride there were just so many people everywhere that I actually ended up having a panic attack in the front corner of the bar (which was so embarrassing) Peter who was working must have noticed something was wrong and he came over to check on me and was able to calm me down and got me to a spot with air conditioning blowing and brought me water. I felt safe thanks to him. I haven't had a panic attack in public in a very long time so being around so many people in a new space was extra scary. Decided to stop in during "Sunday Funday" and on a positive note, I really like the decor and how they refurbished the place; however, it left little to be desired otherwise. I felt the cocktails were very expensive even for their "happy hour" specials and we a round of top shelf and it was ridiculous. The smoke from the patio also comes in and the bartenders on duty weren't the friendliest. One round and we were outta there. Might try it another time to give it a fair assessment. read more

As a straight woman who calls The Broadway Bar my home base, I'm no stranger to LGBTQ+ spaces and have always felt comfortable and welcome. So when a new gay bar opened in Long Beach, I was excited to check it out, especially during its opening weekend. This spot brands itself as exclusively for gay men--and it really leans into that identity. The décor? Let's just say there's no mistaking the theme: walls filled with images of sexual acts between men, and penis art everywhere you look. While I'm open-minded, I have to admit it felt a bit much and, frankly, a little disconcerting at times. That said, the overall vibe was fantastic. The place was packed, the crowd was fun, and everyone--from patrons to bartenders--was super chill. The drinks were solid across the board, but one bartender truly stood out. He was tall, big, absolutely gorgeous, with a knockout smile (chipped tooth and all) and an attentive, friendly attitude. Oh--and his margaritas? Next level. Honestly, I wish he were behind the bar more often! I think his name was Eric? If you're looking for a spot that unapologetically caters to gay men with a bold (and I do mean bold) aesthetic, this bar will be your jam. Extremely Disappointed This was my first time visiting since the change in ownership. My friend had previously raved about this place, so I was genuinely excited to check it out. Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by an overbearing, rude, and power-tripping security guard. First, while we were outside on the public sidewalk having a smoke, not near the entrance, not bothering anyone the security guard came out and demanded we move further away as if he owns the sidewalk. We didn't argue, we simply apologized and moved. Later, my friend went to use the restroom. Mind you, it was loud and busy, and she was in there for less than five minutes, she's a woman and needed a moment of privacy. While inside, someone started banging on the door. She gave a knock back to indicate it was occupied. The next thing we know, this same security guard is trying to throw her out for, and I quote, "taking too long." She wasn't being disrespectful. She didn't cause a scene. But the way she was treated was completely uncalled for. It was humiliating and aggressive. When we asked for a manager, she was allowed to stay but the damage was already done. The energy was ruined, and my friend literally cried when the security stepped away. That's how deeply uncomfortable and targeted she felt. This man is on a complete power trip trying to control public space and policing how long someone uses a restroom. It was outrageous. No one deserves to be treated that way when they've done nothing wrong. If this is the new standard of hospitality here, count me out. You've lost a customer, and I'll be making sure others hear about this too. read more

I heard that there was a new gay bar in town. Went the opening night and had a really good time. Parking can be an issue in that part of town. So, I decided to go back on a Tuesday night. Although the bartenders on the weekend were great, I have to say that "Will" that was working that night was AMAZING. First, it's nice to see a good-looking bartender, but he was really nice to talk to. He made everyone feel like they were important. This maybe my new haunt mid-week. The bar itself is fun. Nice to have a bar that takes credit cards and apple pay. I don't like seeing a service fee for the use of credit. The ambience has a good vibe, fun decor, and an outside patio. This is a fun place to hang out. The bartenders are nice and happy to give you ideas for new drinks or make your regular favorite. The front area is quieter and has nice couches so you can hang out, and the back patio lets you get outside without leaving the bar. Their restrooms are cute as hell. I've included a picture from one of them but you should definitely check them out for yourself. It's fun to see they don't take themselves too seriously. Don't get me wrong, this was the gayest bar I've gone too (that's a good thing!) It felt really awesome to be in an openly gay safe space with really funny, cool pieces of metal. Especially to have gone during pride month, this could be a great place to come to embrace that. Honestly what killed it for me was the giant crack in my glass cup and how it was handled. As someone who works with food safety practices, I would know it's a hazard to have a crack in a glass. But the bald guy who was bartending [who was lowkey a d**k] put my broken glass cup to wash and served it to someone else after he gave me a new glass cup. last night, the white bartender around 9 o'clock at night was a complete prick to us cause we had some to go food that we couldn't get rid of, and when we walked in. He yelled in front of everybody that we couldnt bring in food, even though we explained to him that we were not gonna eat it there we were just not gonna throw it away. This looks like it's going to be a nice revival of the Britt. There's not going to be any parking as was the case before as far as I can tell. But they're doing good work in the interior. There's going to be some trendy home goods type lounge chairs and stuff like that inside from what I can see and there are potentially granite counters and nice cabinets. First time here tonight and all I have to say is OMG! I'm glad that LB decided to change something such as the Brit into a fun and alive place such as Men's Room. Everything about this place was AMAZING: the drinks, entertainment, even the guy at the door was friendly. Normally, when I strike up a conversation with one of these guys, they are annoyed or don't want to be bothered, but this guy was engaged in conversation that he actually took the time to introduce himself, something you don't often come across when dealing with bouncers or people at the door. I was involved with an incident with your bartender michael. He got mad at me because i did not tip him after buying a drink. He exclaimed after i bought the drink in front of everyone "Learn how to tip your f---ng bartenders dude what the f---. why are you here?" I asked him who the f he was talking to. Then we went back and forth for like 10 seconds. Yes he has a point i can do better with tipping. However, its unprofessional and not his place to put me on the spot like that. He then told me to get the f out after i bought my drink. I told him im staying right fucking here until i finish it. One of his cognitively declined friends ofc wanted to play superhero claiming i was starting problems yet couldnt answer how and how it started, interesting. While she is talking to me he grabs my drink and puts it on another table and physically attempts to grab me which led me to push him. I didnt even get a chance to finish my drink neither. By the way i am not sure if this situation stemmed from having a bad day or rejecting a threesome with him and his boyfriend. Not sure. read more
