First time here during the start of pride season they had some complimentary cookies & donuts. I wasn't a fan of the music the DJ was playing. The bartenders were attentive & took our orders immediately. Overall a nice bar most of the bars in the gayborhood are cash only. read more

This place is horrible. Drove al the way from San Gabriel valley to see what the gay night life was like in Long Beach. My partner and I have been to Long Beach and love the vibes but we stopped in this place cuz we had to use the bathroom and after we were gonna head to sweet water and omg this girl inside was banging on the door while my partner was using the bathroom and being so rude! My partner came out and said why was she knocking loud and she proceeded to try to attack girlfriend!!! My gf ended up beating her ass cuz you don't know us!!!! That's what you get for acting like that. Even though she provoked it they kicked us out and let her stay. This place is wack. Don't come here smh ‍ read more

Heads up: Cash only! Place is alright. For Saturday it wasn't too crowded. The dj is legit mixing some good tracks. You can actually hear the person next to you which is kinda nice. A michlob Ultra will set you back $8 but hey it is what it is :) read more

Came during pride, and it definitely had great prices and great air conditioning. We ordered drinks and the bar, and enjoyed the atmosphere. The D.J. Had people on the dance floor and people were consistently flocking in. Came during pride, so not sure how the crowd is during other times. We enjoyed ourselves. read more

Best bar on this street!! 10/10 vibes and service!! The bartenders are SO fun and nice!! Mel always gives amazing service ! It's cash only but there is an ATM inside! They have free pool every Thursday and karaoke too!! I came for karaoke and had so much fun!!! They have events going on every week almost every day so there's always something fun going on! Neighborhood GLBT bar. Opens at noon and I arrived just about that time . This was once the bar I frequented as I lived on the block . I like the changes it is brighter and more open . Drinks are strong. Cash only with an ATM available. I recommend stopping at your bank first as the charges will add up. The bar is clean the staff helpful. read more

The bar itself is okay, but the KJ with the gray hair is awful. One of the worst I have seen in years, and I regularly go to karaoke (1-4 times a week). I tip really well. He skips people who he doesn't like their songs, even if they are before others. It is understandable if a kj adds new people at the end, however, several people who sang in the first round after me got to sing again. Karaoke had started at 9:30 pm and I still hadn't sung a second song by 11:30 pm, when others in the first round had all sung a second song. Really disappointing experience! Absolutely DO NOT recommend. I only came here because I was attending a birthday party. There are WAY better karaoke places where the KJ's run fair rotational orders. It sucks to because they only accept cash. I feel like i wasted my money. read more

Not a bad spot for a couple well drinks, pool and karaoke if you're so inclined. Located at the gateway of Long Beach's ‍ nabe, and it's a haven for friends of mine in the community. Frequented by locals, a bit divey, maybe not where I'd start a night-out drinking sesh but where is take it from there. Drinks are reasonably priced. Solid G&T. I just have to say that I came in around 830 on a Friday and the bartender was extremely rude because I asked him what kind of liquor was he serving me !!! The response was that I didn't specify what liquor I want it so either I drink what he gave me or I wasn't getting shit!!! read more

Its a dingy dive bar, but I'm a fan. Karaoke is a favorite here for its low-key audience. I remember one year, i was going through a bad break up around xmas, my co-worker brought me here for a "shift-drink". It was decorated rather kitsch. Bartender back then was a cool guy and made me laugh. I have been dropping back ever since. It used to be older men, lately lots of bitchy queens hang out here, I think they are jealous of my boogie. A TV playing CNN runs constantly like a dark negative cloud over what would otherwise be a fun time. I go out to have a drink and forget about all the crap in the world. Best place to hang out! I was waiting for a friend and all the bar peeps were friendly and engaging. Great drinks and Julio? I think his name was, was my bartender for the first hour or 2 and was so kind and engaging. Loved his personality and his sense of humor. He was very genuine in his approach towards me. Very nice person and I complimented him at the shift change as the 2nd bar guy took over. Second bartender, Miguel. That went differently. I had been hanging out till my friend showed up and he's was late so I had a drink and some water. I was trying to get Miguel's attention to order another drink/water. He had been chatting with the guys at the other end of the bar, obviously regulars, for awhile. He was not making drinks....he was chatting with the patrons, I get it, make your money honey .... but I was not being rude or loud and another regular, a younger guy, was trying to help me from across the bar, by getting his attention for me. As my friend walked in and sat down next to me Miguel came over and began telling me that I was rude, he was with other customers, it's just rude to interrupt him like that, I needed to wait my turn, and what did I want?... etc. I was so embarrassed in front of my friend and the guy across the bar was mouth open WTF? I said "Wow, sorry, just needed some water". He then asked My friend in a very pleasant tone what did he want? We ended up leaving. Dude. Who peed in your corn flakes and why are you taking it out on me? Look I don't want to create trouble because hospitality is a hard job!!! I know that, but I also know that 25 years experience in the hospitality industry allows me a certain amount of professional judgement. Great establishment, very nice clientele, but Some customer service training wouldn't go amiss. You just don't embarrass customers like that. read more

Don't come here if you're trying to have fun with karaokee! We came here with coworkers after a work party thinking we would be able to sing and instead they told us they were full for the night! They only let "regulars" sing and they let their cocktail waitress sing 4 times before even considering letting us sing. They only let our coworker sing because she paid $20 and I never even had a chance!! What a rip off!!! Don't come to this bar for a good time - stay away for karaoke! read more

Random little dive bar in the LBC that features pool, karaoke, cocktails, and bit more cock than tails. If you catch my drift. Bad joke aside, I came here looking for some random karaoke fun. I found the karaoke, but the fun was sorely lacking. I think the predominantly gay crowd took itself a bit too seriously and sang mostly sappy love songs from popular gay acts such as such as George Michael, Elton John, and Coldplay. When I went on stage, people showed genuine enthusiasm for my upbeat songs and performances, but the rest of the singers did not follow my lead. It was just one bad depressing song after another that were sandwiched in between me. Oh yeah, please remind me to never use the phrase "sandwiched in between me" when discussing a gay bar. Anyway, the depressing songs mixed with the really dark interior gave the place a gloomy vibe. I sort of wished these guys would have a stiff one (drink, that is), take the huge stick out of their butt (figuratively speaking), and sing some fun songs by Madonna, Lady Gaga, and of course, Queen. Now that would make want to rock out with my sock out. Wait. Did you think I was going to say... Anyway, this place has potential. But right now, the overall karaoke mood is a bit somber for me. And plus, no one hit on me. Technically, I am straight. But sometimes when on business, a guy enjoys a free drink and good conversation. Am I losing my boyish appeal? Does this mean I need to develop a personality? read more

Came here on a Wednesday night for my cousin Daniel F,'s going away pub crawl. The crowd was really nice, friendly and social. I spent most of my time hanging out with my newfound friends at the jukebox and picking out tunes for us to shake our booties too. Pool is free after 9 on Wednesday nights. only negatives you can't really lock the girls bathroom door:( but it's a gay bar not a lipstick lounge, EVS. Okay Okay...I've read the out-of-town primadonnas slashing the Broadway Bar, and I have to admit...in some cases it's true. Karaoke really hasn't been the same since Bobby left back in January. With Ernesto down to just Fridays on the weekends, my desire to go back to the bar are slim to none. I love a good watering hole, and yes it REALLY IS the Star Wars Cantina at times, but that's what makes Long Beach so colorful. We don't have a thousand carbon copies like *ahem* WEHO, rather a sort of Catch-All assortment. The bar has parking, but there really needs to be a bouncerthat can REALLY do the job, not just someone looking for a few bucks in their pocket on the weekend. Look folks, if you're looking for "Fab" or something trendy...don't waste your gas, please stay in Hollywood. We actually appreciate diversity down here at the beach. I never thought I'd defend the likes of the Broadway Bar, but damnit...YOU DON'T MESS WITH LONG BEACH, M'kay? Oh, and that comment about the Heater being so flippin hot...YOU WERE RIGHT ON! This is an amazing Bar. Not only does it cater to locals, it's a safe place for everyone. The staff is professional and welcoming. The pricing is amazing and the karaoke is off the hook. I stumbled into this Gay Karaoke bar with about 8 Marines, 1 Coast Guard and 3 civilians (I being one of the civilians). We were hanging out for 2 birthdays. The bar tender was friendly, the karaoke dj was good to us, the cliental LOVED us. One older gentlemen told my BF that the marines reminded him of his days in the Korean war. :) Drinks are cheap, place is a little dingy and for the most part we went conflict free. We did get scolded for singing along to one karaoke song by someone that said they worked there, but everyone quieted down and respected her voice time. I will definitely be back, sans Marines, to enjoy this establishment in the future. read more

A fun selection of upbeat music which the videos were also showing. You don't want to show up somewhere and the music sucks. Overall, it a fun little neighborhood dive bar. It seemed more like it was utilized with regulars as everyone seemed to know each other. I'm sure it picked up later on from when we arrived. But a fun little place for a drink. None of the restroom doors had working locks, so my other cousin and our friend were simply holding the door closed to give her privacy. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Matthew stood outside the door yelling for her to hurry up. He yelled, "I'm gonna kill a bitch if I don't get in the restroom." When my cousin came out, he called her a "stupid bitch," said that "three men could have peed in the amount of time she took," and then said, "I'm gonna leave before I kill someone." When I confronted him about how inappropriate his behavior was, he identified himself as the manager and threatened to kick us out. No customer should ever be treated this way, especially by management. I won't be returning.

Normally on a Wednesday night or a Sunday as it was karaoke. The fun nights were had way back when. It's still the same fun old place but with a little revamp from the early 2000 when it was a frequent place with the college kids for drinks and karaoke. The crowd from the coffee shop down the street would end their nights here with cocktails and singing. A fun neighborhood dive bar. There's still security at the front checking ID's. Seems like regardless whatever your age is, they ask. Inside you have the retro fun vibe. Of course everyone is there for the same reason, a fun night. Bar is right when you walk in. Normally there's two bartenders on the busy nights but often you just see one. Inside has a good amount of seating but outside patio seating seemed to be alway lively. There's loads of seating out there. The fun twinkling lights and nice lush plants gives it a cool tropical feel hidden in Long Beach. I did notice a lot of people bringing food in especially pizza which was from across the street. Didn't know you could Uber Eats things here but clearly you can. Dinks is always good from my experience. Reasonable price which brings the crowd in. The only thing that sucks, the restroom situation. There's two on either side which does get pretty busy with a line as it's one per person and it's alway dirty. Don't know if anyone goes in there to clean during the nightly hours. Overall, the crowd is alway fun and lively. The last two times I've been I did noticed that it's still the college crew crowd as when I used to come in the early 2000. A more younger crowd, somewhat hipsters vibe. Depending on what day you visit, there's some kind of something going in. It's a fun dive bar that's alway fun for drink. Very casual.

My last venture to ye olde V, my roommate broke up a fight in the girls room, my friends and I drunkenly sang along to Iggy Pop, and a hipster girl was hoisted out by the straps of her 90s era child's backpack. The small Mexican coke was $6... that's insane. I can appreciate that they are locally sourcing food and I would hope they are paying their employees well, and everyone so taken care of. But overall, the value of money and quality of food did not do it for me. I did notice the portions on the salad were inconsistent based off of the other tables around us. That aside.. this gnocchi was not good and too undercooked. The sauce tasted honestly like a chef boyardee sauce, with a little bit of a fish after taste, and no ricotta. It did taste like slight parm, which, even if a little bit more Parmesan was added, maybe this would've tasted a bit better. But apparently all the Parmesan was reserved only for the salads. (This dish was supposed to have a duck base, but this was not cooked properly) not only was I simply turned off by this dish, there was nobody by to help or even get it to go box. But quite honestly, I just left the food which is so sad. Left over pasta is always so good but I really could not continue eating this as I truly did not enjoy the taste. I left hungry and sadly disappointed.

The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. They use haddock fillet for the Fish & Chips, which was fried to perfection. The Wedge Salad is what actually knocked my socks off! This was one of the best wedge salads that I've ever had. It had your key ingredients: iceberg, buttermilk dressing, red onion, crumbled egg, tomato, bacon gastrique, blue cheese, dill, chives - but something about this salad was different! It was so refreshing, flavorful--just everything you want in a dish. I went on a Thursday night and it was slammed. They do not take reservations but they do have a waitlist via toast that you can join while you walk around and wait for your table. Plenty to do and see on 2nd street. We ordered the party platter for 4 people! It was the perfect amount of food with leftovers to take home. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Our beef was a textbook medium rare and was so juicy and tender, as was the rest of the meat. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, as was all the shawarma. All meats were seasoned beautifully. The rice underneath was stunning as well and really caught all the juices from the meat on top. The roasted tomatoes, onions, and pickles were the perfect compliments to help freshen up the palette during the meal. The sauces were amazing and there was a clear favorite (the garlic sauce) which was annihilated by all four of us. Service was friendly! It was very packed so it was slow at times but understandably so. They come by and give you orange blossom water for your hands post meal - what a treat! We smelled amazing! NO NOTES FOR OPEN SESAME! I have to come back with more friends! We did have an issue but it was with another patron who had the audacity to yell at my table (while I was in the restroom) for "having too much fun"?!?! This is a public restaurant and it was loud as hell in there because it's tight and everyone talks over each other, not to mention the open kitchen. The energy in the restaurant is exciting and frenetic. If you want a quiet dinner f*cking STAY HOME and leave the streets to those of us who have had a WEEK and want to enjoy a fun dinner with friends. Yesterday I went into Broadway bar with six of my woman friends. We entered through the back way. The door man could barely stand he was so drunk. I thought this was odd because that's illegal. But also it was Long Beach pride and SHIT happens. We proceeded to hand over our ID's but reluctantly. He checked them all and we went in. As the last of us enter ANOTHER man starts yelling I need to check your ID to one of our friends. She doesn't give him mind because we already got checked and at this point we're weirded out that a loud man outside in the parking lot is yelling at us. And we walk in. This man continued to huff and puff following us in and references someone named DANE whoever that is and he walks behind the bar and talks to a bartender. My friend goes to talk to them and the bartender's response to her is "GET THE FUCK OUT!" She tried to talk to him again and he said the same thing and walked away. Im furious at this point and I leave through the front. NOBODY was wearing a uniform, a security label, a security shirt, a shirt that said Broadwaybar, a name tag, NOTHING. So what do they expect? no one looked official and they were DRUNK! how confusing and irresponsible. For pride weekend this is just lazy. As we all start to collect ourselves outside after being yelled at to GET THE FUCK OUT, the weird drunk "doorman" comes around from the back and asks us why we're leaving and so upset? Then He asks us if we have "an agenda?" I reply to him "what the fuck does that mean? He asks us again "why are you so angry?" I reply "because you're drunk and checking ids and that's illegal." He replies that he's not even an employee and he was watching the door for his friend the real doorman. SO again THIS BAR HAD A DRUNK STRANGER CHECKING IDs, someone handling my identification card and who knows what he could have done with it? NOT OKAY!! Plus this drunk man proceeded to follow us and took photographs of us through the windows of a corner store that we entered trying to escape him. What kind of irresponsible unprofessional dumbass people work here? Six people left this establishment! And that means the not only lost money, they lost return patronage. because they chose to have a drunk watch the door!!!!!!!!!!!! And I can't help but wonder If we were men would that have been a different story would we have been yelled at or followed or harassed? Why did we get photographed? They didn't ask permission!! Why did we get yelled at with profanity as a patron and a woman? Both Dane and that door man should be fired. How fucking illegal and rude was the situation they had going on. Fuck this place!! I'm and to be honest this place was always the chill spot the front door man with glasses and the tall bartender with glasses are friendly and do their jobs. But it always seemed to be empty and now I know why..... These other two or three employees need a reality check. What a horrible severely disappointing experience of discrimination within our own community! I wish I could give them zero stars.... but that wouldn't even describe what we went through here. read more

smells pretty bad in there, but it lives up to the "dive bar" image, complete with rude bartenders. Big bearded white guy does what most legit bars do not: doesn't say "last call", he just turns the music off 25 minutes before closing..but serves up to 10 minutes before closing if you're one of the friends he spends all night chatting with. You can get served pretty quick, when his friends aren't there. There was a female bartender, but she was so drunk she almost didn't charge me. This place needs major upgrades, starting with the staff. I get that it's a bar, but they should still focus on Customer Service, and the bartenders should not be drinking while working. read more

This is my favorite weekend hangout! Great people are warm and welcoming, karaoke is diverse, entertaining, and run well! The drinks are cheap, well crafted, and the bartenders all have their own flair and passions. A true gem on the broadway strip and with a parking lot to boot! I want to start with I've come to this bar over 30 times and spent money almost every time not only on drinks, but pool and the juke box. My partner and I took a long bike this morning and decided to stop in for some free pool. The man at the bar followed with you have to spend money to play pool for free. I am recently sober and just wanted to play pool. I've never been greeted this way at this establishment. He told us to leave or buy a drink. We kindly told him to fuck off and unfortunately I will never step foot in this bar ever again. Our close friend passed away recently and they are having a Remembrance Birthday but unfortunately I will not be attending because I'm appalled at the way we were treated. You've lost my partner, me, and our friends as neighborhood customers and I will continue to tell friends and family not to go to this bar. Never seen this bartender in all my time of going here and hope I never see him again in my life. Sorry to the bartenders I've built good relationships with but do yourself a favor find another bar that will treat you like a community because this will never be the one.

Will say it was definitely spacious. It would be nice if they had some standing tables or even more places to sit without it being for only service bottle girls. I will say everyone's experience shall be different since a random person kinda punched me and left me a bruise due to a mosh pit. But again this really isn't the clubs fault. Overall it's not bad for a bar. It was nice that they had an elevator since it's in the second floor. About is accessible to ppl who need to use the elevator!! Also one thing, maybe be more thorough with security. They didn't check bags and just checked for ID only. Oooo also don't be warned with parking!! It's better to park in a garage you all!!!

This place is located on the 2nd floor of Shannon's On Pine Irish Pub & Sports Bar. The first thing that stood out (after having been to Sevilla Nightclub just a mere hour before visiting this place) was how lax security was. And by lax, I mean they don't pat you or check you for guns at all. Cover IS free so that's definitely a plus. The whole place smells of marijuana smoke and the floor was kind of sticky. They do give out free water, which is nice but they don't have disposable cups, rather they have regular plastic clubs that I'm assuming are washed regularly? The music was ok. Not my thing but I can definitely groove to some Hip-Hop/R&B every now and then. The patrons were friendly and it was easy to make conversation and connect with others. Some of the people were already high as a kite there, though, lol. Again, I can't comment on the drinks or their prices, since all I usually have is soda, or water if it's available. Overall, a bit of an improvement over Sevilla in some respects, and not as good as Sevilla in others. Final Score: 3/5, just like Sevilla Nightclub down the street.

Fast forward to this past weekend for the USA World Cup game. We originally were planning on attending the street party that was happening on Pine Ave in downtown for the game. But when we arrived, there was a massive line just to get in. Just from the looks of it, the line didn't seemed to move and the game was starting. That's how we ended up here. The bar is just off the promenade in downtown. Clearly, there was no way we're waiting in the line for the street party. Instead, we remembered and seen this place. They too were showing the game so we walked in. There was a good amount of people on the patio area which they also had a television. Inside was a bit more mellow but it was picking up. With this bar, we got to sit down and enjoy the game with a nice cold beer. Happy hour was going on so they were having specials on drinks. Within minutes, it was starting to get packed as everyone was doing the same thing. Instead of waiting in line and the game was starting, this place was a better option. A nice open vibe bar. Plenty of seating inside as well as the outside patio which was pretty big as well. The ladies behind the bar were amazing. Busy as they were trying to take care of everything and everyone. Drink specials did sound nice but we opted for the happy hour beer. Bar area was quite roomy with communal tables as well a private table. Bar seating was great as the television was right in-front of you. The tufted leather seats, leather high top seats give it that cigar lounge. A cool spot right in the heart of downtown Long Beach. They didn't serve food but was informed that hat someone was serving classic hot dog and burger out front. Having walked in and enjoying this place, it was worth it. I saw a Deliirium 12 foot or larger umbrella outside and thought, "a Delirium sounds really nice right now." Chimay! I love the drinkware. Makes it all taste even better! So exciting.

We stopped by on a Wednesday evening which is also karaoke night so the energy was high and the place was PACKED. It was fun, but super hard to get a drink because there were only three bartenders working. By the time you made it through the wall of people to the bar, it was so loud that it was almost impossible to communicate your order. People were living for karaoke and it definitely seems to be on a regular rotation for some of the patrons. The Blind Donkey is definitely a place that you need to check out if you are in town and want a fun evening.

Beers and drinks are offered at such a great price!! You can't find drinks for around $3.00 anywhere else in the city! And I was happy to see the place had been fixed up and has a brand new patio! Don Carlos is such a gracious fun loving guy! He made me feel right at home and let me change the tv channels to the Dodger game!! Go Dodgers! As we waited for our friends , we thought why don't we split among the 4 couple and pay $150 per couple =$600. Then our waiter says "oh we sold out of that package deal ". Parking was $5 and guys don't forget to tip the parking valet personnel. Holy Mother!!! as we step foot in the door , the hallway reeks of foul sewer stench . The wall behind the hallway is the restroom. . ( Management need to look into the stinky smell ) as we sat down we saw one of the bouncer spray some Lysol to masks the odor in the hallway. I've been coming here since the old owner, owned this place the sewer smelled then , but now it has gotten so bad. Now that we are talking about the bathroom, some of the bathroom does not have working sink water or soap dispenser. You need to come out of the stall and use the main sinks / soap dispenser. As we peruse through the menu we did notice prices were not listed on the menu . I asked our waiter she mentioned that they are making adjustments to the price. She would gladly print out how much each dish costs once we make our selections. Food hasn't changed much , we ordered the fried quail with salt / pepper lime dip , the quail was over fried that's it was too crispy for our taste . The Tom yum soup were delicious, we all liked the steak and anchovies dip , steak cooked perfectly. Message to the new owners : please have a plumber come out to fix the bathroom issues . Other then that we enjoyed the foods, the entertainment that night was amazing and the entire wait staff were superb .
