A great little bar with nightly entertainment. We went on a Wednesday night. $5 donation to a charity run by the musicians to teach poor kids music for free. 2 drinks minimum. The place opens at 8 pm but the music didn't start until 9:50 pm. It was pretty empty at the beginning but people started showing up later. Nice cool decor and lighting. Speakeasy and nightclub vibes. Excellent sound. Drinks were decent. No food available, so make sure to eat before coming. They have comedy nights and burlesque on weekends. I bought tickets for the Bad Bunny Superprebowl Burlisque scheduled for 730pm to 9:00pm. We got there early to get some good seats, we had General seating We happened to grab two bar stools by the main performance stage. I had to flag our assigned waitress to get some adult beverages. Ordered House wine and my wife ordered a sweet cocktail. We kept ordering drinks all night. The problem with that is that our waitress had to get flagged everytime! She never checked up on us. She attended to those that had reserved table seating. Very dissapointed on customer service. Overall the show was classy. Great choreography, vibing to some reggaeton music. No complaints about the show. We had fun! This place is the only Burlisque show that I know or aware of that is in the Long Beach area. Check the website to view the lineup. Category changes everytime. Great ambiance with clean restrooms. Parking will be on the street or timed parking structure. I would comeback. My experience only, yours might be better. read more

We had a roaring good time at harvelles on a Monday night with a Star Wars themed show including a live band in full character and regalia! Great energy and crowd. It's not going to be a highly polished and technically advanced set of dancers but rather just some great entertainment at a very reasonable price with all good seats to watch the show. Kudos for the grilled cheese pop up which provided some much needed grub to soak up the drinks. read more

Came here last night and we had to upgrade from GA to VIP, because the GA seats had restricted views. We ended up sitting towards the back near the isle, we had to share a table with some nice ladies. The show was great and if you sit near the isle you will get a lot of interaction with the dancers. Drinks were just okay, they start at $15 for mixed drinks. I tried to order their specialty drink called poison Vesper, but they didn't have the ingredients to make it. Staff were great. I bought $35 worth of chips, enough for two drinks and a tip. Don't order the mules, they are all sugar. I stuck with Tito's and soda. read more

I've walked past Harvelle's in downtown Long Beach so many times and finally decided to check it out for one of their burlesque shows. I have to say, the show itself was really entertaining! The performers were talented, the energy in the room was great, and it made for a unique and fun night out. The venue has a cool, intimate feel that adds to the experience, making it feel like a hidden gem in the city. That being said, the overall experience was a bit overshadowed by the pricing. Between the entrance fee and the cost of drinks, it started to feel a little overpriced. I ordered a vodka soda, and I could barely taste the vodka--honestly, it felt like I was just drinking soda water. For the price, I expected a much better pour. I'd still be open to coming back to check out one of their other shows since they offer a variety of performances, but I don't think I'd go out of my way just to visit again. If you're already in the area and looking for a fun, different kind of night out, it's worth checking out--but be prepared to spend a bit more than expected, especially on drinks. read more

Who on earth is in charge of your business plan? I used to come here all the time and had such a great time--awesome drinks, fun entertainment. Lately, though, it feels like I'm getting sucked into some sort of pyramid scheme with this new poker chip system. It's unnecessarily complicated and, honestly, confusing for NO reason. I had to keep getting up from my seat to buy more chips and I know that sounds like a first world problem but I expect to just sit back and relax and enjoy my drink while watching the entertainment! It was such a hassle, and let me tell you, it's a surefire way to drive customers away. My suggestion? Leave the chip-buying and long lines to the casinos, and just let us enjoy our drinks and entertainment without all the extra confusion. What an experience!!! When going down the stairs to enter I felt like I was entering an exclusive speakeasy. I was there for a show and the staff took such good care of us and we had great seats for the show. Recently went to a burlesque show (which was AMAZING) at Harvelle's, but unfortunately the venue was not so great. They recently switched over to this very odd poker chip business model, where you have to prepay for poker chips to then pay for your drinks (2 drink minimum)... not quite sure why there's an extra step, but it was really inconvenient... especially when the poker table lady tells you drinks are more than they actually are. On this occasion, I was the DD, so I asked how much non-alcoholic drinks were, but no one at the table knew. It took about 5 minutes for everyone to agree they were about $8-$10, and come to find out, it was less than $5 each. Left me with more poker chips than I needed. I ended up tipping the dancers with my chips, but come to find out, that's not allowed anymore. What's the point of the poker chips? Additionally, the system wasn't working the best/fast enough, so I saw people using cards to pay while at their table... I would've loved to do that. Also no more food for right now while the restaurant is gone... which was such a bummer. I miss the old Harvelle's. Get rid of the poker chips! read more

So, I recently went to support a friend in their Lady Gaga-themed show, but let me tell you--the vibe was off the second I walked in and was greeted by... a poker table. At the entrance. Yep, a whole poker table. I'm already thrown off, but it gets worse. The person sitting in the dealer's chair proceeds to tell us that we need to prepay for casino chips--because apparently, we're not just throwing dollars at the dancers like normal people. No, we're supposed to throw chips at them, I guess? I don't know. She then gives us this whole speech about how we pay for drinks with the chips, and at this point, I'm already a little buzzed from pre-gaming, so I'm just like, "Sure, whatever, I'll pay $40 for some weird casino chips." She swipes me in and then the screen asks how much I want to tip her. Excuse me? The tipping should be for the dancers and bartenders, not for the person who just gave me Monopoly money. Anyway, the show itself was actually fantastic, the dancers were a blast, but then, plot twist: I run out of chips and drinks. So, I call over a cocktail waitress--who, by the way, is dressed like a cowgirl. I'm sorry, but are we in a Lady Gaga show, or a Wild West saloon? The themes are already clashing harder than my stomach after that pregame. The waitress goes into the exact same spiel about chips and payment that I've now heard three times, and at this point, I'm like, "Is this a dance show or a finance seminar?" And to top it off, the waitress clearly didn't even understand the system! She was just as confused as I was, and that, my friends, is a recipe for disaster. The dancers were amazing, but honestly? I'm not sure I'll be back. This place was a mess and not in the fun, chaotic way. More like in the "who thought this was a good idea?" way. read more

I used to LOVE coming here! It was my favorite spot in Long Beach, but unfortunately they've implemented a "poker chip pay system," where you have to pre-pay for your drinks at this ridiculously awkward poker table at the door before you're even allowed to enter with a 2 drink minimum requirement. You can't open a tab at the bar, the waitresses won't take cash or cards, and it's a PAIN to have to walk to the door to buy chips every time you want a drink. What's the point of paying for a VIP table if you constantly have to walk back and forth from your table to the door? And WHO WANTS TO ASSESS HOW MANY DRINKS THEY WANT TO HAVE BEFORE ENTERING A BAR? I'll tell you - NO ONE. I just want to open a tab and enjoy my night. If you don't use all your chips for drinks, you can't cash them out at the end of the night, they encourage you to "save them for next time," -- right, I'm going to keep a bunch of random poker chips on me in case I happen to wander into Harvelle's...NOT. It's a HORRIBLE business model. It makes zero sense and fits no theme whatsoever. WHY?! Please bring back the normal cash/card/tab system. No one wants poker chips! Additionally, this venue used to have such a classy speakeasy vibe. I saw some of the best burlesque I've EVER SEEN there, but they got rid of all of their burlesque shows - again WHY?! Burlesque and cabaret are what put this bar on the map. They've replaced burlesque and cabaret with some wannabe Coyote Ugly group. The girls are fine, but c'mon Coyote Ugly is so overdone and frankly a tired theme in 2025. Plus, it does NOT suit the vibe of the space AT ALL. Harvelle's is made for burlesque. Coyote Ugly does not work, it's not a dive bar. Plus, with the stupid poker chip system, no one wants to throw cash which is such an imperative and fun interactive element of shows like this. BRING BACK BURLESQUE! They're really milking the Coyote Ugly theme with "dancer bartenders," but unfortunately, NONE of these girls KNOW HOW TO MAKE A DRINK. The bar staff here used to be fabulous, and now, the mixology expertise of this venue is non-existent. They couldn't make a Tequila sour which is pretty standard and my Moscow Mule tasted terrible. When I asked for a "Bees Knees," a drink I used to order there regularly, the bartender just stared at me blankly, and proceeded to make some weird tequila based drink. A Bees Knees is a gin-based cocktail and it's a drink that every bartender should know. I used to love you Harvelle's but you're really alienating your regulars with this new system and these dancer bartenders. Get rid of the chips, no more Coyote Ugly please, and bring back burlesque and cabaret! This ship is sinking fast and it's just oh so sad. read more

But last night when I came to watch a show the entire staff had been replaced with girls in daisy duke's who danced on the bar when the show ended. They seemed like good dancers, but it didn't make any sense with the band on stage that I came for. And they made TERRIBLE drinks. Keep the dancing if you want that Coyote Ugly vibe, I guess, but get some real bartenders behind the bar. Oh, and the only way to pay now is to exchange your money for poker chips at the door. Don't love that new system at all. I miss the way Harvelle's used to be and I hope these weird changes are temporary. read more

I pretty much come here thanks to the Dirty Little Secrets Burlesque. Been coming here for years as long as they have been performing at this venue, and whether its sitting at a table or just standing and hanging out, they do a great job with their service. For the food, They have a small selection of food, but its a small bit of the appetizers from the Cngregation Ale House on the upper level. I usually get the tots and the artichoke dip (with actual artichoke).a Parking is pretty tough on most nights, but If i get lucky, im able to get a spot at the street. If you park at the Pine apartments structure, they do have a flat rate during the weekends to park there, but if you intend to stay there for an extended amount of time, its worth the safety and the rate. read more

We were sat by a large birthday party, who had already been over served. Before the show even started, they knocked over a candle onto me, burning me in hot wax and ruining my dress. They didn't even buy me a drink for that. The show started after that, but I was so pissed off the entire time, I could hardly enjoy it. *Maybe don't use real candles with drunk people* The show itself was fun and body positive. Lots of humor sprinkled into the show but still very saucy. We will likely go back and hope the first degree burns were a one time thing! read more

Came here for one of their Tuesday Comedy & Burlesque nights and had a blast! Tickets are $10 and there is a two drink minimum, but it's worth it if you like stand up and fancy a burlesque show. Definitely one of a kind! Despite doors opening at 8pm, the show won't start until about 8:30pm. It's hit or miss as far as seating; sometimes it's busy and sometimes you may be able to snag any table you want. The earlier you go, the more choice of seating you'll have. A fair warning about the show: it's LONG. I left at like 11:30pm and it wasn't over yet! I hear it might go until 2am?! I'm not even sure. There were like over 10 different stand up comics and 3 burlesque formers. Definitely a fun date night or a night out with your friends if you enjoy that sort of stuff. Drinks are pricey, but soft drinks count in the 2 drink minimum. I just had a perrier which was $5. Wine/mojitos,etc are $10-12 each. OK seriously what happened to Dirty Little Secrets? I used to come here once or twice a month for my DTLB Girls Night Out. We've been doing this for like 7 years now (30+ of us) and now this place is basically closed. Last time we tried Little Miss Nasty and it's a cool show but doesn't quite work for our LGBTQ+ ladies group. Just a little too hard rock for us, we are all older and liked the comedy from Dirty Little Secrets. I hope this venue brings them back soon, letting them go other places was a huge mistake. Barnaby is like a local celebrity in our circles and I have never seen a group completely embrace the queerness of Long Beach quite like them. Doesn't care about masks usage or checking id's. Show was fun, waitress was nice. But you are packed in with tons of people with their masks off. No you can't be more than a few feet from people. This place is great. The atmosphere is fun and the shows that you can see are so good. My fiancée and I enjoy Devil's Den nights the most. Only reason it is 4/5 stars is because the food is a little overpriced and the space is a little small. Definitely understand that it is a tight fit and you will be very close to others at all times since they sell out of tickets very quickly. Food- I get it, I dont expect a cheap meal, you definitely dont go for the food Space- they work with what they got, still cramped and depending on seating, you will miss the show, definitely get there early if assigned seating then try to sit in the corners. Dalia Darling is by FAR their best performer. Dont wanna miss out. read more

This three star venue with a full bar is on the expensive end for what they offer. It is "hidden" (LOL) because they are at a sub terrain level. I laugh because they claim it's a hidden speakeasy concept, but have advertising signs all over the fence next to the entrance. Not really, when I think of "hidden" speakeasy concept, staying in state, the Library at the Tenderloin in SF comes to mind. Does not hold up to the Green Mill, what a REAL SPEAKEASY was and still is in Chicago. And, the Green Mill is still where it used to be, on Lawrence and Broadway since the 1920s. They are in a new construction yuppie coop. With a rude sound guy who curses out loud for his short comings and bouncer who thinks he's too sexy for his hoody, it's cute who that they think who they are. Bar tenders are fast and friendly. Owner operator, who dressed like he stepped out from a REI store into Belmont Shores kept pacing around before the show and made the place look unorganized. Once the show started, he sat down with the bouncer for a chess game, strictly amateur. Speaking of the show, the band, "Misus Jones," a supposed Amy Winehouse tribute band was missing their Amy and started jamming without telling the audience. When the dude started a bad Prince cover, I walked out with my ears bleeding. The misleading show was one star, rounding it out to two. I needed shades, the flashy nouveau riche Yuppie crowd was killing my eyes. Glad I walked out before getting permanent hearing damage and going blind. This was a cool little place underground with great music, great VIP seats close to the stage. We went for the burlesque show and the dancers are talented and beautiful. Lots of heavy metal music, which I love. My ONLY iissue was that the music was, in my opinion, unnecessarily loud. It didn't help that, with VIP seating we were right under one of the speakers. It was for that reason ONLY that we left at intermission. I was bummed because it was a really good show! I think had I brought some foam earplugs with me I would have absolutely stayed for round two. Honestly, I am talking like OSHA level, damaging to the ears LOUD. The recent changes to the business operations have taken this place from a classy cabaret jazz club to an embarrassing attempt at a mainstream club. The environment is no longer conducive to classic burlesque as it has been for the last 20 years. It's a grave disappointment to the number of performers who put years of their heart and soul into performances for that stage. Came for dirty little secrets burlesque show and it was SO fun and worth it. There were several performances and the general admission was fine for viewing. They used both the stage and the bar top so it was super interactive and fun. Parking is fine as well, there's street parking and there is a garage nearby with your first 2 hours free and $2 for every 30 minutes afterwards. Overall this place is a lot of fun! read more

Started with a request to move and when I declined they became aggressive. They ended up comping one drink to move and the people we moved for showed up 30 mins after the show started. Imagine it's the days of prohibition and in order to have a good time you need to go to an underground club. This is kind of the feeling of stepping into this establishment which is a pretty cool feeling. Inside is dark and a cool vibe sets the stage. Everything seemed like a pretty cool night until the event actually started. Its a fairly intimate place but when you sit somewhere, if theres a show, you might not be able to see the show. The way its laid out is if you're not right up front your gonna miss a good chunk of the show. I found myself not being able to see either because the waitresses were in the way, the seating of other customers or the dancer bent down and basically invisible. The next thing was the waiting staff. Service started off well and I will say that I was just getting the 2 drink minimum for 2 people. However I never got my 4th drink and im pretty sure I had to pay for it. After the event was over I had to go flag down my server because I had to get going as it was already 12:30am.
