A nice theater with comfortable seats. Parking is easily accessible. It's a more intimate venue but still holds a good amount of people. It was My first time here and I would definitely come back to see another comedian/performer.

I had the privilege of coming to the theater with my team from work for a lecture in the Distinguished Speakers series. Not only is this performing arts center a beautiful place from the enormous dancing fountain - which is lit in all colors at night, but the interior is gorgeous, too! The seats and vantage points are arguably more comfortable and visible than say Segerstrom in OC, and I was impressed with how subtle the lighting and acoustics were as well. I would definitely love the opportunity to return, perhaps for one of the Shen Yun ballet performances or Nutcracker during the holidays. While I cannot speak to the parking situation per se as I actually live within walking distance, I know there is a large structure to the east of the entrance and street parking. Adjacent to the Breakers hotel, the theater is within walking distance to the many restaurants on Pine Ave. and the Pike outlets and Long Beach Aquarium.

We came to the theatre to see George Lopez, there's spacious parking that's walking distance to the theatre that was convenient. The entrance process was efficient, secure, and there was plenty of security to help with the process. The theatre is esthetically pleasant, with various food trucks, bars, and easy access restrooms. The sounds system was great and getting to our seats was easy with assistance from the staff. We had a great time and will definitely cone back!

We've been following the Beach Boys around SoCal for several years now and they played at this location on a sunny summer Sunday. The parking lot next door charges 15 dollars for the whole day. The theater is nice outside and inside but they have nasty carpet laid out. The sound was very good and I enjoyed our seats even though they were in the balcony section. A bar is available outside and inside in case you didn't pre-plan and drink before going in.

I'm not too much of a live events person but my friend invited me to see Sheng Weng and it was also my first time at this venue. The building is beautiful and clean and the restrooms were clean as well. I loved how they had a water filling station and there was live music and food trucks and food vendors outside of the venue before the show started. We got to meet Sheng Weng after the show and had a selfie with him! Funny dude!

Quick power snack before the show!

Came to this venue for the first time with my sister to watch, Come Far Away (fortunate to have watch this 2-night showing of this wonderful production). NOTE: My review is soley based on the venue. Located in DTLB beside neighboring business such as, Aquarium of the Pacific, LB Convention Center, and the Fairmont Breakers Hotel just to name a few. We prepaid for parking online and had no problem finding the structure, which was just a short walk to the theater. Beautiful fascade with colorful lighting to showcase the building and the dancing water fountain outside, which gave off a low scale Bellagio (Vegas) vibe, sans background music of course, pretty cool nonetheless. Great security staff as we entered, but we did see a few transients outside. The main lobby was multi-leveled, open and airy. Their auditorium was clean and definitely spacious. The stage had plenty of room to accommodate the set design, cast, and live band. The acoustics were wonderful. Their bathrooms were clean, but I wasn't sure if there were more restrooms located somewhere else within venue. Funny seeing the long line coming from both the women's and the men's joining as one. Plus points for having more than one cocktail station though! LOL. All in all, my sister and I enjoyed this venue. We would definitely come back to watch future shows. Till next time...

I loved the show. Come From Away was great, as was the company. The theater however left much to be desired. It felt too big. Once the show started they let people in... Multiple rows in front of us were sat all the way in the middle with empty side seats. It seemed a nuisance to seat people after the show has started. Then, directly in front of us... a woman texted the entire first song and 5-7 minutes of the show communicating with someone else in the theater. She finally got up and never came back...theater etiquette?!? Other than that the show was great. We might be back to see Book of Mormon but might spring for closer seats. It feels like a huge auditorium. This show was much better on Broadway in a small theater. But I'm happy to still be able to see this heartfelt show.

Well the place is nice. But when buying your tickets row 1 was not front row as the diagram shows. I paid more for my tickets to be front row and was actually 4th very miss leading they have row a,b,c not showing on the seating charts. Beer prices are out of thos world $19.99 for a 24oz beer wow unbelievable. Sound is much better in the mid seats then up close. Save your money and sit back a few rows its not that big of place on the floor seats. Will it go back maybe

We went to go see The Book of Mormons Musical and was absolutely delighted by the talent and addictive atmosphere. A spectacular dance amongst the lights. The staff were kind and helpful. The show itself was so very entertaining and well casted. I'm just a bit disappointed that buying a single beer and two shots came out to a whopping $70. If you fancy a drink, I suggest to have one before arrival.

I finally can check Shen Yun off my bucket list now, I had the opportunity to see this breathtaking authentic Classical Chinese dance, music and storytelling performances. Shen Yun name meaning is the divine beauty, Inter feeling in dance and movements. This classical Chinese performances started in NYC in 2006 and it was banned from China in 1990 because of the religous movemont, they put on a amazing show that deal with the ancient Chinese culture, the dancing, acting, songs, dialogus, colorful costumesand the music is all awesome, they all put on one hell of a show, I love it from the beginning to the end, they are very strict about the audience taking pictures, or videoing, there are ushers holding signs not to do it. I would love to see this again and I'm too.

I attended Ali Wong's stand-up show at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach last Friday. The show was a blast. There were signs stating that no cell phones were allowed to be recording or photographing inside the theater. When we arrived, we were directed to park in the convention center parking lot which was $15 per car. We quickly made our way to the C level and walked over the bridge to the theater and directed around to where they set up the metal detectors and security checks. We arrived at 6:30 before the 7:00 pm show. There were two food trucks parked in the plaza outside the entrance to the theater. There was also a bar outside but we were also told that there were 14 bars inside the theater too. I did not see any food options inside other than pretzels so I was safe to order food from the food trucks. We got our food and chowed down before entering the theater. We actually had a chance to use the ladies' room too. By the time we took a quick pick in the lobby, it was time for Ali to take the stage. We got in just in time as she was starting her set. The show was great and we exited the theater shortly after her set.

Shen Yun?! Yes, please! I always said that if they're ever in town, I would love to take the opportunity to go see as I heard so many good things about it. Opportunity knocked. I took it, and this is how I ended up here. I'm not really familiar with this area, so I took the time to research: how much time it'll take to get here from home, parking (this is REALLY important), prepped for contingencies (it was a rainy SoCal weekend), etc... I planned ahead so I didn't miss any part of the show. Funny enough, I planned it so well, my friend and I got here a little too early. But no biggie: this gave me the chance to take it all in. What a beautiful structure from the outside and even more so once inside. There were plenty of informational displays and booths regarding the show. Same for snacks and drinks (nothing big, pretzels, chips, soda and the like.) Great views of the general area on all corners. This is a well thought out building! The main hall's appearance was nothing to call home about, but the acoustics were excellent! The orchestra was strategically placed and the music coming from them was almost breathtaking. (Parking is $15 - YAY! And it's covered, so rain wasn't that much of an issue.) The one downside: bathrooms. They're not enough. The lines were so long with not enough stalls. I almost missed the 2nd part of the show. The other downside: the show itself. Maybe because I didn't read up on it enough that I may not have had sufficient information to appreciate it. I guess I expected more acrobatics? Or just MORE - because after 3 or 4 dance routines, the ones that followed were pretty much similar to what we'd already seen. The costumes, however, were incredibly impressive. They spared no expense on that part of the show. TIP: Pre-pay parking tickets online. This will at least secure you a spot. The $2 fee will be worth it! I'm glad of the experience. I now know what to expect should I ever find myself up in here again for any reason.

Are the seats plus size friendly? Some venues have really outdated tight seats.

By looking at the review pictures it looks like they are regular seats:(

The Buddy Holly Story is a spectacular tribute to one of Rock N Rolls most legendary pioneers, and this production was nothing short of electric and astounding From the moment the lights dimmed, we were completely transported into Buddy's world. The actor playing Buddy could be his twin!!! The musical tells the inspiring and bittersweet story of Buddy Holly's meteoric rise from a young, rebellious Texan to a trailblazing star who changed music forever. What makes this show so special is not just the energy of the iconic hits "Everyday", "Peggy Sue", "Oh Boy" - but the heart behind it all. It's a powerful reminder of how much he accomplished in such a short life. The cast was phenomenal - truly Broadway caliber. The actor portraying Buddy was a revelation: pitch-perfect vocals, magnetic stage presence, and musicianship that gave me goosebumps. Every member of the ensemble brought the era to life with authenticity and spirit. And the final concert scene? The entire audience was on their feet, clapping and dancing - no exaggeration. EVERYONE! Musical Theatre West never disappoints, but this one was especially unforgettable. We're devoted fans, and even though we live far away, we wouldn't miss a single show. The quality, heart, and talent in every production keep us coming back again and again. Once we discovered Musical Theater West 2 years ago we make sure to never miss the production - Sounds of Music, 42nd Street, Million Dollar Quartet, Into The Woods, you name it! Thank you so much If you're on the fence - go see it. It's not just a musical, it's a celebration of life, music, and the kind of timeless spirit that lives on through Buddy Holly's legacy. The stage was raised 2-3 feet so unless you are in the first few rows, you end up watching the show in the large screens on both sides of the stage. Unfortunately, it got worse from there. The show was Disappointing, and not real burlesque. This is simply a non-nude strip show. Real burlesque is about subduction and teasing an audience, not ruff gyrations in fancy costume, with an expensive light show, a fog machine and blaring music. Although the show had about 10 different scenes, none were original or creative. All were a cliché, the Carman Miranda with the fruit skull cap, dominatrix in black shiny vinyl outfit, sexy secretary with black rim glasses, sequence belly dancer outfit with vails that get pulled down and that turns into cowgirls with a western song playin, down to the bride with Billy Idols white wedding playing. The music is to loud, to the point the speakers distort the sound. The songs chosen are the same used in every strip show and topless bar TV show and movie scene depicting stripping. The sad part is this show had the potential to be good given the production value and obvious costs spent on costume and lights alone. The best description I can give is, this is what a 14 year old boy thinks burlesque is. It's not, it's ladys gyrating and waving their asses in the air. No sudction, no teasing, just scantly clad lady, who are not really sexy. The dancer who acts as an MC asking the audience to yell louder for her fellow dancers. If you want to see a strip show without going to a strip club, then this shows is for you. If you want Burlesque, save your money and wait and see Dita von Tease or someone similar. I have seen many Burlesque shows, from the Dirty Show performances to The Empire Strips Back, to local theater production style shows put on is unused factory's to local theaters. All were better then this, even if they did not have expensive costumes and light show. If you want a strip show go to your local strip club. If you want burlesque, this show is not, skip it.

By the end of show my behind hurt, my knees hurt. It was just awful. This is also the first time in my many years of show going I saw (and heard) people leaving during intermission due the discomfort of the seats. One lady even screamed in the narrow passage way to I assume the rest of her party (MY KNEES CANT TAKE ANYMORE). Her husband then said yeah Im running her home and ill be back. This was my first time going to this theater so my first impressions were good at first. Staff seemed personable. We went to see August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean. I have never been to a theater in a U shape before. I have decided I dont care for it. There were so many times where I didnt know what was going on because the actors back was to me. I dont know if there was a kiss, a nose snuggle, who knows. My partner also point out that in one scene on our side we saw that one actor was rubbing anothers foot. This was how the piece came back from the dark. He pointed out that the folks on the other side had zero clue because they just saw her back. He also pointed out how much wasnt really used and the set could have been "pushed back" for better viewing and I agree. I also found it distracting for me to see the audience across, folks were laughing and speaking in times that didnt call for it and for someone like me who is ever observant it was a distraction. Final complaint the smoke machine was too much for me. It literally made me start coughing. The people I was with also said it got to them in other ways. The sound was good, lighting good. If I am invited back to a performance at this place as I was this time, I would have to see the run time of the piece. This piece went on for almost 3 hours and oh how could I forget started close to 20 minutes late! Just not cool man. As a first time goer it made me wonder if this is the norm for this theater and would have to keep that in mind as well.

A Labor Day Weekend Tradition!!! ...well, except for 2010. But imagine three full days of hula…read moredancers, Hawaiian culture, food, shopping, and did I mention the hula dancers? ;D Oh, let me clarify...hula dancing wahine AND kane! (women AND men) and let me tell you, when the kane come out to dance, you hear a lot of hoot and hollering from the audience. I'm just sayin ;D I've been attending E Hula Mau for as long as I've been a hula dancer (2003). The hula halaus that participate are hardcore! Some of them have even competed at the Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawaii. That's the largest, most prestigious hula competition in the world! E Hula Mau is like the Merrie Monarch of the mainland showcasing the mainland's talented hula studios. Friday night features the solo performances. Saturday features Kahiko (ancient style) and Oli (chanting). Sunday features 'Auana, the modern style. As a spectator, if you are determined to watch every single entry in the competition, be prepared for: - Sitting for a large chunk of the day. - Loud, screaming cheering from the crowd supporting their favorite hula groups. - Auditorium air conditioning. Bring a sweater. - Crying. Lots of crying, especially if you are so moved by the beauty, story, and dancing of the hula dancers. Bring tissues. Like most Hawaiian events, you are bound to run into lots of people you know from other halaus at E Hula Mau, especially if you support many hula events. Just give a hug and kiss on the cheek to spread the good mana! :) If you are a hula dancer and have the opportunity to compete in E Hula Mau, I highly recommend it! If your halau is anything like mine, you will have the most emotional, character-building, aloha-filled experience that will only bring you and your hula 'ohana closer together. I was lucky to have danced in the Wahine Division with Kekaiulu Hula Studio in 2010. Woot woot!!! If you survive the entire weekend, you'll have so many good memories of hula girls and/or guys dancing in your head! ;D ALOOOOOOOOOOHA!!! :D :::flashing the shaka sign:::

This is home away from home for me, seeing and feeling and smelling the Aloha spirit in downtown…read moreLong Beach. I never miss an opportunity to attend this event. Growing up in the islands, almost every day was a bbq. My dad would bust out the hibachi and grill everything. Pass by the Safeway on Pali and Vineyard and you see the smoke, that's no fire, it's a fundraiser for Huli huli chicken! Manapua (though on the manini side), malasadas, spam musubi, shave ice, lilikoi juice, island plants, snacks, books, music, beauty products, flowers for your hair.....ahhhhh it's all there! I am glad they did away with the scripts cause that was too many steps to have to get them, then redeem, then stand in line, etc....the prices for the plate lunch are not too bad but I was disappointed there was no mac salad and portions were more mainland then local portions, lol.... Come out and cheer your favorite halau and talk story with the ohana.
