Gaslamp is a live music club in LBC that also serves food. We went on Fri night to celebrate a birthday. Knyght Ryder, an 80's hit band was playing. BTW, there is a $15 cover. We had a blast! The band had the crowd jumping. In addition, the place is big w/ lots of tables for large groups (there were ~ 15 in our party). The dance floor is spacious also, so it didn't get body to body. Lastly, the clientele are chill, and no one was looking to cause trouble unlike some places. Our waitress took excellent care of us (I forgot her name). But all the staff was cool. I ordered a few drinks from Yvette at the bar, and she was friendly & warm. The only downside is the food is pricey & average. That issue is easily resolved by eating beforehand (band starts @ ~ 9 pm). I only had snacks at Gaslamp to line my stomach for all the alcohol. I would definitely return to enjoy a fun night in a low key place. The cover is reasonable, and the service is very good. read more

I visited this establishment to hear Whey Jennings in concert. I also had evening rations here. I ordered the Gaslamp Burger with French Fries. The Biroche Bun was toasted a bit too much. They did honour my request to have the burger plain with just the bun, meat and cheese. Good. The burger was decent but nothing special especially considering the price. The French Fries were decent. Men's washroom was clean and had paper towels... good. I'm glad that the bartender who served me tucked his shirt in... looks professional. I was not able to understand what Whey Jennings said from the stage. Either he did not speak well or else that the acoustics were bad. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would be in there solid with a B. read more

I can't believe I never reviewed this place! I have come for a birthday dinner, comedy show and a few bands. It's very large and open inside. The comedy show was great. We saw Jim brewer. We saw a reggae band too. It was fun dancing. We also had a birthday dinner when it first opened. We ordered a variety of fried apps during the concerts. The food was kind of basic bar food. This was our first time at the Gaslamp in Long Beach. We came for their New Year's Eve Bash with the 80's band, The Reflexx. We had their 4 course Prix Fixe Dinner for $275 per couple. Each course took way too long in between courses. Salad: Honey Gem Salad - a few crisp gem lettuce, whipped feta, 1 large pickled watermelon radish and honey spice dressing. It was just okay. Starter: Ricotta Stuffed Ravioli with Fire-Grilled Jumbo Shrimp with lemon zest butter. It had 2 medium sized ravioli, which were 2 bites for each ravioli and just 1 jumbo shrimp. Both were a little overcooked, under seasoned and cold. Not enough lemon zest butter. Main: Duet plate with... Braised Beef Short rib, Cabernet Demi Glacé, horseradish cream. Adobe Marinated Chicken Breast with cilantro lime crema. Smashed Fingerling Potatoes with garlic and herbs. Charred Snap Peas with miso butter The braised beef short rib was tender but needed more demi glacé. Could have been more flavorsome. We don't like horseradish so we put that aside. The chicken breast was in pieces and was a little dry and under seasoned. The potatoes were very clumpy, under seasoned and could have used a sauce. Finale: Chocolate Layer Cake with berry drizzle Not a very impressive dessert finale. Very rich, sweet and very chocolatey. The berry drizzle didn't add anything to this dessert. For $275 per couple, was it worth the price? Not really, considering it took almost 3 hours for all the courses with long waits in between and the food didn't wow me. You got a half glass of champagne when you walked in but you had to buy any other drinks from the bar. This place was packed!! The Reflexx were good and had everyone dancing. The acoustics could have been better. Good DJ music when band wasn't playing. Great 80's music!! The dance floor was packed like sardines, with people pushing their way through. It would have been better to have a bigger dance floor. It didn't stop us from dancing though. Had a couple LED dancers which was fun to watch! The wait to get in was ridiculous, but once we got in, this place was SO fun! We bought tickets and reserved a table online for a 7:30 event. It was advertised that doors open at 6. We got there at 7 and waited in line for an hour and a half. Apparently, the house was already packed even though everyone in line had already purchased tickets. Once we got to the door, someone had to look up each of our names on a clipboard. We had missed the first band because we were kept outside so long! We reserved a table for $25 and we did not let go of it! We sat in the mezzanine and had delicious food and drink. And I'll come back for the fillet mignon skewers. The drink menu offers an array of draft beers and yummy cocktails. I'm not into sweet drinks, but I did fancy the espresso martini. Despite the wait, a good time was had. On the bright side, the venue is great. They line up fun tribute bands and great music, with different themes every Saturday. It was hard to leave. Every time we thought we were ready to go, another good dance song came up. Super fun times. I just hope they come up with a more efficient system for selling tickets and checking folks in. read more

I celebrated my 30th anniversary here. Reserved the top row of tables. The top row can accommodate at least a 100 people. All was catered with food and alcoholic beverages. We had assigned servers all night performing the pour of drinks. From Tequila to Vodka, all was poured in consistency. Food was great as well. Our invited guests enjoyed the snacks! From beefsticks, cheese plates, min burgers and fruit. All was excellent! The main attraction was a band called Knyght Ryder. They were outstanding. They play old 80s music as a cover band. All guest that had attended were very entertained by Knyght Ryder! We partied from 6pm to Midnight. Kudos to the entire Gaslamp staff that assisted us the entire night. Good food, good service and good times! This place is awesome!!! If you are in the area and its a Friday weekend. You have to stop by and listen to these guys! They dont dissapoint! Every time I have gone to Gas Lamp, I have the best time! First, let's talk about the food, I didn't eat this last time I went, but I ate the time before and you have to make a reservation or show up early and sit at the bar, but the food is really good. Everything I have ever ordered. Here has been great. I added a few videos from recent shows that I have seen, but I think my favorite night was the night that I saw the Aerosmith Whitesnake Bon Jovi tributes! This is the place if you are a rocker from the 80s lol! The tribute bands are just awesome here. I think some people wouldn't want to pay 30 bucks to see bands, but I'm telling you it is definitely worth the money. Also, all of the bartenders are really cool. The owner is really nice. The bar was really difficult to get served and the female blonde bartender would bring part of what I ordered each time and then once again it was very difficult to get her to return with the rest of the order. I've been a frequent patron of Gas Lamp and have shared some great times at Gas Lamp throughout the years. Yesterday's birthday event was in honor of the person who has been coordinating these events and has been generating good business for Gas Lamp. Gas Lamp reciprocated by levying a cutting fee for the birthday cake and charging the birthday person for a Diet Coke!! Came here for the second time for a 90s Grunge acoustic cover band show. The place was fully packed, so was the parking lot! I recommend getting there early at least for a big weekend ticket. Of you didn't reserve a table, there was standing room in the front and around the aisles. Once you get settled in and have a spot, it's a great experience. The sound, visuals, and RVs around the place are nice. I'm a big fan of smaller low key venues for music when there's an artist you like. I didn't order any food, but the drinks were reasonably priced. I'd recommend checking this place out if you're in the north OC/LB area, it's a cool spot! read more

Attended the MTv tribute band night. Lots of parking Line to get in that moved pretty quickly. We had dinner reservations and were seated at the large communal table with band members' family which was cool to hear back stories and meet new people. It was warm inside but eventually cooled down a little. We ordered wine (nice pour), Filet Mignon Skewers, and Coconut shrimp. Given the venue, I was extremely surprised by the really yummy, quality food. I would go back for the food. Thank you Lali for the attentive, fast service. Again surprised given the large parties, Lali kept everyone happy and handled a drink being spilled on her in stride. The bands were fabulous! Loved Heart of Rock & Roll. The reason for 4 Stars, I wish the stage was a little higher. I made dinner reservations in advance to get a better view. The hostess told us that if another table came up that she would move us. The guy that was seated next to us, that came in after us was moved to a better table. He later told me he had paid $50 to move to a better table. We ended up with an obstructed view in a constantly used aisle way. Since we had food, we couldn't move to the dance floor for a better view. read more

We came here to see a local Guam band-Breezin, play on Fathers Day weekend. The jams were great and everyone seemed to enjoy their music as the dance floor was packed. They have ample seating and service is okay. Could be more prompt, friendly and thorough. We waited a bit to get our order taken. Could be it was Fathers Day but they weren't really crowded when we got there, at the start. The staff didn't check on us and we had to ask a few times for water or napkins before they came. I was invited here for an event and got excited to hear that there was going to be an 80s tribute band called Knyght Ryder (sorry if I misspelled that) but they were absolutely great! There was a great vibe in the room and as soon go thru the security checkpoint and pay the cover charge (only $15 for the night - what a deal!), we found our party and got seated. The food i ordered was a chicken fettuccine Alfredo and was cooked perfectly. It came w a slice of garlic bread but was a bit over cooked. The band came on awe had such a party celebrating with the whole crowd. Great music, good people, and great event. Good job Gaslamp! Highly recommend anyone who hasn't been to go. read more

This was my 2nd time ever to the Gaslamp, first time was about 15 years ago. Came this afternoon to celebrate my wife Birthday and to rock with CORDAY. We were given a choice of tables being the first to arrive so we picked front and center. Our waitress was so friendly, very attentive to our every need, even as busy as she was she was on point. The food was amazing and worth the money. We had the coconut shrimp, the hangover breakfast, the avocado toast and loaded tots. Everything was tasty and large portions. The sound here is perfect, even being right up in front we weren't blown away, we could hear every word. Gaslampnhas alot of music tribute bands throughout the week, all.are very good from what I hear. Gaslamp has been a staple bar, restaurant, live music/event spot in Long Beach, CA for years. The food comes in big portions full of traditional yet modern flavor. I am a huge fan of the Gaslamp Burger - Cooked to perfection and every bite melts in your mouth. My second favorite is the Gaslamp Signature Salad- This combination was a bit out of my comfort zone but when I took my first bite, the fresh, crunchy, healthy explosion of flavor got me hooked! Went there with friends for the Nirvanish Tribute. We purchased tickets in advance. Plenty of parking. It's better to arrive early because it gets full. Ambiance is great. Food and drinks are very good. We ordered appetizers. We ate too fast forgot to take pics. There is a patio outside to hang out and sit by the fire pit. I've been there many times. So its minimum $40 per person to see a cover band play 80s music. Well Drinks are $15+ and appetizers are also $15+. For just 4 people: 6 drinks, 2 appetizers & 2 entrees + tip, was a little over $300. Waaaaay too much for a cover band & DJ. Food was OK. Drinks were weak & tiny. We use to go a lot & stopped for a few years. We were not expecting how expensive it all is now. Their website doesn't stipulate that the $25 does not include the entrance fee because of the band. Had I known that I would have just paid the entrance fee & ate somewhere else. There were a lot of empty tables & I know why now. Never going back. It was a great day for music, bar and kitchen at the Gaslamp. We had a great view of the stage where the Kool Breezzz Band was giving all the dancers on the floor a gyrating fun time. Friends were already seated and having great attentive service from a friendly young server made ordering easy. Gaslamp burger with French fries, an ice cold draft, and a Heiny zero was a good way to go with our viewing and listening pleasure. Let's start with the complete dumbfuckery of their organization for ticket sales. Tonight tried going to see Depeche Mode tribute. Had purchased tickets. But line had no movement in the cold cause they had one person trying to check over 100 people in line. My feet went numb waiting in cold for 45 minutes to to only move 10 feet. Finally gave up and called an Uber. There were far more people than legal capacity. So not safe and not organized well. If you do make inside their food is ass. So they deserve no stars but you can't do that so know if you read this review this far, that they deserve 0 and you dear reader deserve better than this place. To add insult, they give you a hard time giving refund. So be warned. read more

Not someone who writes negative reviews, but this was just too awful to not share the experience in hopes it will spare someone else the money and time. There's no other way to say it other than we were scammed by Gaslamp, so be warned- we bought tickets to see a concert of a cover band last night and even though we had tickets, we were, along with non ticket holders, forced to wait together in line and spent 50 minutes in line outside in the cold (a rather chilly night in LB) before we ultimately decided to leave. We've heard it's hard to get refunds, which is why we are already feeling scammed. Paying ticket holders waiting with people that don't have tickets? What's the point of tickets? No communication by the Gaslamp staff, no organization (like, I don't know- how about: ticket holders on one side and those that are walk ins on the other?) and general confusion made the night extra frustrating. People kept leaving line because they had tickets and wanted to see if they could get closer to the door because of it, but had to return to the back of the long line. So bizarre. Doors were at 6- and we got there at 715 to see the 730 show. The line was wrapped around the building with more than 100 people waiting, maybe more- it was unreal. After 50 minutes with 30-45 mins more to wait, based on how slow the line was moving, and the fact that we had missed like 30minutes of the show and were bound to miss more... we had to leave. Terrible experience. Our group was told we could not join with another couple who arrived sooner and were being hosted despite having four free seats next to us. As a result, we had to sit apart the entire show. Further, the hostess lied to our face about the dance floor opening up during the show which it never did so we relied on her statement and didn't press the issue further waiting until the dancing started... which it didn't until the end of the hosted act. Finally, the manager could only offer apologies despite the fact that the group next to us was allowed to hold open seats well into the starting of the show. We kindly requested drink comps and that wasn't honored. The hypocrisy was the most infuriating part of the ordeal, and resigned attitude toward making a simple change that was made needlessly complicated. read more

Even ran into an old coworker! The crowd is mixed, handsome men but maybe too young for me. Doors open at 6pm. There is a cover charge of $15.00. It's definitely worth it! The band was versatile and full of energy. The band started playing later that than expected, around 9:40pm. However, there's a DJ playing before the band started and in between sets. They sang mostly 80's popular hits and DJ was playing '80s, '90s and early '00s. Food selection is decent. This review is based primarily on the Brunch On Vinyl event Sunday. I'm not sure if it'll be every month (check the Gaslamp website) but if you're into vinyl records this is an easy place to find some records & related merch. Ample parking, no entry fee, several vendors, a DJ & the option to enjoy brunch or have a drink at the bar. After a friendly greeting from the young lady at the front desk my boyfriend & I headed to the back of the bar area. He found albums to add to his collection ranging from classic rock to the obscure presented in boxes & crates on long tables. The lighting could be a bit better but it is a bar venue after all. The brunch menu has an array of choices & going by the handful of dinners I've had here the brunch dishes are probably quite tasty (not low-priced but what is these days?) So, if you're into Bloody Mary's or Blood, Sweat & Tears you can enjoy either or both if they do this again. read more

2nd time coming here and it was way better when you make reservations to have seats it makes a big difference also it depends on who the cover band is last time we came it was for Queen and it was ridiculous packed and no room at all even standing I highly recommend making reservations for a table and make sure you tip the waitress that way you get good service. read more

I love the Gaslamp. The first time we came here was to see the Atomic Punks play. My husband and I have since seen other bands play, and I have to say, the bands that we have seen play there are EXCEPTIONAL. If you go on their website and see a group for music that you like, give it a shot - it will be worth it. The musicians are very talented and properly called "tribute" bands for that reason - they truly sound like/perform in the style of the artists themselves. We make the drive from Ventura County just to come here. The cocktails are okay, sometimes too sweet and watered down, but average for the price compared to other places. My advice would be to enjoy some nice beer or be specific on what you want for your cocktails. It can get extremely busy on show nights, so it may take a moment to get a drink at the bar. I would highly suggest making table reservations in advance, because on Friday/Saturday nights, it gets very busy, especially when some great bands are there, so you might wind up standing if you don't. It's also nice to have a server who will come bring you drinks, so you're not waiting for a while at the bar. We recently actually ate food here, and were pleasantly surprised. Angus burger was tasty and juicy, filet mignon tips were tender and flavourful, fries were pretty fresh, the food arrived hot and quickly as well. We saw some other dishes go by which also looked delicious and well-presented, so the next time we return here, we will be sure to try something else. All in all, this is an entertainment venue, so I would prioritize the review based on that over anything else. The musicians they have might not be everyone's taste, but they offer a very good variety if you're a person that appreciates good music, not most of the garbage played on the radio today. Cover charges/ticket prices are pretty fair, depending on who's playing. Would advise you to bring cash. Some things to keep in mind: They offer Sunday brunch. They have themed shows or events on other nights as well, like line dancing. The parking can get pretty full on nights with popular shows (like Saturdays), so it's best to arrive early, go in one car if you're with other people, or taxi here.
