Stand Burger and fries

What's not to love? Sit under the trees with clean tables and good service. Fresh well made food. Hint- I like the fruit and tea drinks more than the soda dispenser.

Raw meat

I love the chimichurri steak salad from this place but I will never order from here again. I mostly order through DoorDash. While eating my salad I realized the meat was raw. Prior to this, I had received another order with cold meat but I let it slide since I had no problems with this place before and figured it was a one off. However, after receiving my salad today I realized they are careless, do not properly cook meat, and place customer's health at risk.

We had an awesome experience at The Stand! Roxy was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we walked in. She made us feel right at home and provided outstanding customer service. The food was AMAZING! We ordered the Jalapeño Bacon Burger, and it was absolutely delicious--packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. We also tried the Cookies & Cream Strawberry Birthday Cake Shake, and wow... it was incredible! Rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet treat to go with our meal. We'll definitely be returning. Highly recommend The Stand for both the delicious food and exceptional service. Thanks again, Roxy, for making our visit so enjoyable!

I've been to the other location numerous of time and with this being so close to home, I've only been twice. This location does have a good parking lot out back as well as street parking. Not only that, there's a nice garden outdoor dining area. Tall ficus tree blocks out the view of the parking lot but still has a nice openness in the front looking out to Ventura Blvd. Plenty of picnic table as well as high top communal tables. There's also heat lamps when needed and at night, the strung lights above. Inside also does have two dining area. One right when you walk through the door. There's also a nice flatscreen that tends to have sports on. It did when we arrived. The main dining area, there's more seating there as well. It's an open concept when you order and the kitchen is right there. You're able to see the meals being prepared while waiting to order. Same menu as the other location except I believe century city offers breakfast. There's also beer on tap as well as wine available. Plus, their sweets are delicious. Fresh baked cookies and brownies are both not to be missed. Entrees wise, I tend to always get their Cobb salad. It's a pretty big portion. Mixed greens with bacon, avocado, tomatoes, blue cheese, cucumber, corn salsa, red pepper, carrots and of course chicken in a vinaigrette dressing. We also got the seared ahi tuna salad with spring mix, red onion, cucumber, scallions, red peppers, cherry tomatoes, crispy onions strings in a spicy Thai vinaigrette. Both salad was great and of course we needed a side of fries. Sauce wise, ranch and their sweet chili aioli. Food is good. Simply classic but tasty. Burgers, sandwiches, salads and bowl, hot dogs. There's also plenty of sides dishes as well. Downfall with this location, there's no pickle slices to help yourself too.

Great food, service and chill ambience. The staff and friendly and helpful in deciding what is great hear. From what I had it seems everything is great here. Outdoor seating is perfect for those hot days as the trees block the direct sun. Chimichurri Steak Salad was amazing and hit the spot. Wife has the Spicy Buffalo Salad which she really enjoyed. The kid has teriyaki chicken with rice but substitute the rice to fried LoL. Coming here for sure to try other things!

Just had a great meal at the Encino Stand! Fantastic Southwest Chicken salad. Delicious double cheeseburger with diced onions and mustard. Cooked perfectly medium. Fantastic onion rings dipped in ranch. Blonde ale. Pickles. I see a milkshake in my immediate future. Three cheers for Crystal, the excellent server! I like her a whole lot! I just downloaded The Stand app and I already have 102 points. So nice to sit on the patio and enjoy life on a Sunday afternoon in spring.

We came here for lunch before Lakers game. Let me just say this, this place was amazing! Their burgers were so good. Also, their service was incredible. The employees there were super kind and helpful. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating area. I'm glad they have it here. This place also has an awesome ambiance to it. And lastly, the inside was very clean. Overall, awesome place and I highly recommend it.

Any parking nearby?

There is a lot in the back of the restaurant. Easiest to enter it off of Ventura Boulevard. The driveway is just west of the restaurant.

Why you guys stopped serving the kale chicken sandwich?

Because it wasn't selling

Are dollar dogs still gone? They haven't brought them back, right?

Dollar dogs are a periodic promotion that occurs for a certain time then stops. I've even seen it on last only one day, like certain holidays. You're right, I haven't seen it in a while, but I reccomend their email list as it's the way I keep an eye…

One one occasion ordering with 2 other people who got food and drinks i said oh no drinks for me. And she took that as no food and started going to take someone else's order until i said hey i want food and she acted like i was holding her up from taking the other persons order telling them to be patient as if she needs to get over there. Never got my glass of water she was supposed to bring until i went back to the bar and paid for bottled water. Anytime i went to the bar i felt like i was burdening her lol. I wish I had read my last review from 9 yrs ago before revisiting this place today…read more Let me tell you about the good things first... this won't take long. Kelley, our server, was a sweetheart. And the glass of wine was a nice pour and a decent wine. I like that they let you in for something to drink before officially opening for the day. Cue record scratch... now about that food. No, we did not order the wrong thing and no, IMO, they were not just having a bad day. Look at these Huevos Rancheros with "house hash, tostadas and 3 eggs"... those are chips (I think from a bag of tortilla chips) so not really a tostada, no way there were three eggs in that thing (from what I could see)... not sure what the "house hash" is but nothing I could identify on the plate. I know a lot of people might leave a restaurant and say "I could have made that at home" but there is no way I would make something this crappy at home. LOOK at this Avocado Toast with "avocado spread"... that is some thin smear of something green but when you are calling something "Avocado Toast" there should be a substantial amount of the hero ingredient (and maybe not call it "avocado spread" on your menu description. To me, that says, "Look we don't want to call this a "rustic mash of avocado" or "Hass smash" or "hand-crushed ripe avocado" because we know you are actually going to SEE it in front of you in about 15 minutes and "avocado spread" won't lead to a major disappointment." But it did. And this slab of dry plywood that they were calling toast. I turned to my wife and in my best Sebastian Manascalco said, "Why would you do that??" This place mostly failed on food. The food at the other tables looked equally pathetic. Gotta say... all of the cooked egg components of each dish were decent but the rest of the items were like WTF? Ambiance? It's OK... I mean it was a bar with a ton of TVs going. Semi-nice vibe for a sports bar... lots of room. Just can't get over the food. We ate about half of our sodium bombs and left. But parts of the eggs were lovely... as was Kelley.

Parking was without stress, it is behind the building and with validation the parking is complimentary from the restaurant. The outside courtyard looks so magical with all the lush trees and the outdoor lights, I love it! Our lecture was inside in the large room, and the seating was plentiful in a board room-like table with large comfortable chairs. To begin we were served fresh bread with whipped butter and Spinach, Kale, and Artichoke dip. Both were delicious and a good whetting to the appetite. Next came the second course, I got the House salad and oh my goodness, that salad was soooo good and a very generous portion that I honestly ended up getting full from the salad! The greens were fresh, and the mix of candied pecans, roasted beets, and goat cheese on top made for a perfect mix of flavors. Probably my very favorite salad that I've eaten in quite a while! For my main course I had ordered the Parmesan Crusted Jidori Chicken Breast which lay on a bed of steamed spinach and Mashed potatoes. I took a few bites to enjoy the fresh cooked meal and then had to have the rest boxed for lunch the next day. Then dessert came, I LOVE creme brulee and it was so light and fluffy and perfect that I ended up eating the whole thing. What was nice is the creme brulee did not feel heavy in my belly and I didn't feel weighed down despite how full I felt! Staff was really kind, they all greeted us and introduced themselves by name and they whisked in and out with our orders and with drink refills. I definitely recommend Davenport's restaurant!!! We were able to walk right in and grab a table as the afternoon rush was over. First, it is a cute restaurant with nice ambiance inside. You can also eat outside it looked like, but it was hot so that was not going to be an option. Started with the mini crab cakes and the tuna on crispy rice. The crab cakes had a good amount of crab in them, which was really nice, but they definitely tasted under seasoned. The tuna on crispy rice was great though, topped with avocado and a spicy mayo. Nice crispiness on the outside, soft rice in the middle, good flavor, just a nice bite. For entrees we tried the chimichuri steak sandwich, the French dip and the lobster roll. The lobster roll looks the part but was light on the actual lobster, in our opinions. Felt the bread to everything else ratio was really off, so it feels like mostly bread with some lobster here and there. The chimichuri steak sandwich comes with arugula, gruyere, roasted peppers and grilled shallots and was a decent bite but not overly memorable. The French dip, on the other hand, was really tasty with that au jus and melted cheese. That was the real winner. Overall, nice ambiance, drinks were decent, some misses and some hits. If you go, definitely get the French dip and the tuna of sticky rice, slip that liner roll and the mini crab cakes and up to you on the chimichuri steak sandwich.

Saturday, October 3rd…read more We arrived right on time and were promptly seated with our friends at a 4 top. The place was bustling and loud. Our waiter came over and took our drink order, Hendricks martini for wifeypie and a Grey Goose martini for moi. Our friends abstained. Our waiter brought our drinks and asked if we wanted to order. I almost laughed. On the inside I was like "Really? You just brought us two martinis, we have been at the table for maybe five minutes and you want to know if we are ready to order?" Actually, I did laugh and declined the offer. We sat for a few minutes catching up with our friends. All the while the maître d' and another gentleman were kibitzing with the person occupying a booth directly behind one of our friends. They kept coming and going, bumping into my friend's chair and talking loudly. My friend kept turning around every time they bumped into him. They would apologize and then continue with the same shit. This went on for over twenty minutes and was quite annoying. We all ordered. Wifeypie had the salmon, I had the deconstructed short rib Wellington. Our friends split the lamb chops, ordered medium, substituting french fries for the mashed potatoes. We all had salads to start. We gabbed, enjoyed our salads and dinner arrived. Wifeypie's salmon looked dry and overcooked. My short rib Wellington was described on the menu as "cabernet-braised short rib, mushrooms, puff pastry, horseradish cream." Our friend's lamb chops were clearly not medium from my vantage point and in the middle of the plate sat a big pile of mashed potatoes. We requested that the server please bring the french fries, as ordered. Wifeypie's salmon was overcooked, but she said it was ok. My Wellington was sitting in a sauce that tasted heavily of truffle oil and nothing like the dish was described. I had to ask for a steak knife as the meat was not butter tender, as a short rib should be. There was one lamb chop on my friend's plate that was almost medium, the rest were well done. The french fries showed up 15 minutes after the entrees, after we had made two requests. I ate about half my dish, it was disappointing. Wifeypie had about half of hers and our friends had two of the four chops on the plate. They did like the french fries however, when they finally arrived! Our waiter did not check on the table until we had stopped eating. At that point my friend pointed out that the chops were overcooked and the waiter actually picked up one of the chops to look at it! "Really????" I have to give credit at least on one point, they did remove the lamb chops from the bill. He asked if we wanted dessert and we all declined. We had indicated on the reservation that it was one of our birthdays. That was ignored. You be the judge. Humbly submitted, Moi

There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.

Earlier the woman, who seemed like she wasn't having that great of a day either, helping us commented about having to keep walking things over to our table. When we finished eating, all the tables were full and I had just watched a group of four walk in and leave, so I genuinely thought I was helping by bringing our dishes to the counter and freeing up the table. She told me to leave them at the table, I apologized, and did exactly that. What bothered me was that while I was waiting to pay, she looked at me, pointed at the counter and said, "No... SUCIO dishes on counter," with a smirk. I had already understood her perfectly and responded in English. English is my first language and Spanish is my second. As a Mexican woman, the way she emphasized "sucio" felt incredibly condescending and racially insensitive. That being said, the food was SO flavorful, and the cook even came out to check on us, which I really appreciated. You never know what someone is going through and a little kindness and basic respect go a long way. Sadly, I wouldn't come back to dine in after this interaction, but I would still order the food for delivery.
