I have met A LOT of lettuce-wrapped burgers in my day and omg I think this is the very best one!! Even though this is a casual burger joint, everything is incredibly high-end. My family and I could taste the care and artistry that was put into our meals. The burgers are meticulously made, with fresh beef that is ground in-house. When I was ordering, I didn't realize what a big deal this would be, but after the first bite, I completely understood. The sauces are also delightful! I ordered one of each to try. I think the tarragon was my favorite because it's a unique flavor that I haven't seen anywhere else. Other highlights - one of the loaded fries had a great sautéed mushroom on it. Oh and the salad was so fresh! My whole thing is, I judge all food based on how the vegetables are and I respect the quality here. The owner and chef was very kind. He shared some of the founding story about his passion for fresh and unique flavors and it always makes me so happy to hear these kind of stories. My current goal in life as a responsible citizen is to exclusively spend my time and money at businesses that have a big heart and high quality, and it always makes my day to have a chat like this. I ordered a Smashburger, which was decent, but I came with a group of five and everyone else was unhappy with their meals. Their food did not look appetizing or they could not finish it. Two friends ordered the chicken sandwich, took one bite, and stopped because they said it did not taste good. It made the whole experience awkward since we were all sitting there with food no one wanted to eat. On the positive side, the fries were pretty good and we all ended up eating those. I ordered online for pickup. Online says ready in 15 minutes. I got there and said I was there to pickup an online order. The cook was shocked. She hurried over to an iPad and found my order. She never saw it, so they never made our order. "Give me 5 minutes." I said, okay. I knew it wouldn't be 5 minutes. I've been here once before. It takes a long time to get your order. That's why I ordered online. As I walked outside, an employee walked in past me and asked if she could help me. I explained. "Do you still want your order? Can you wait?" "I paid $50 for it, yes, I want my order." "Okay, give me 10 minutes." "The other lady said 5 minutes." "Okay, 5 minutes." They know how long it takes to prepare an order, so this is terrible customer service. Set expectations. Don't tell me 5 minutes and take 20. Tell me 20 minutes and do it in 15. I waited at a table outside with my Mom for our order. I watched a walk-in customer order and get her food and leave before our order was ready. Then I got an email telling me the order was ready. I walked in. The cook said, "It's ready." I waited a few minutes, but it clearly wasn't ready. So I went back outside and sat down. Finally, well after 20 minutes, I saw the employee packing a bag and walked in. She apologized and said, "The iPad didn't ding, so she didn't know." How is that my problem??? I have no control over their internal processes. I placed an order online, paid for it, figure out how to get my order and make the food. She made no attempt to do anything to account for the time we wasted. So I said, "You could give us a cookie for this long wait." So she gave me a cookie. It's been a few months since they opened, and it's getting harder to excuse their staff. They're a burger joint that can't cook burgers consistently. It's been months, and it's not that hard to make a decent burger. I make burgers at home and patties from scratch. It's fresh, more flavorful, cheaper and takes less time. If Gordon came by, he'd probably leave just as quickly. Sometimes the patties are burnt on the outside yet raw on the inside. They take forever to cook, which tells me they're mostly likely cooking frozen patties on high heat. While I prefer fresh patties, I don't mind if a fast food joint wants to use frozen patties. I do mind that they're still inconsistent. It's been months of poor feedback, but the cooks haven't figured out how to cook a simple patty. The only food I might recommend from their menu wouldn't be their burgers. I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt because they were new, but their lack of improvement tells me they don't care about serving good food. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Delicious fresh made food from scratch. They even grind their own meat here. I got the fish sandwich and my bf got the AF burger and both were delicious. The owner is so kind and convinced me to try their homemade tartar sauce even though u told her I don't like mayonnaise or creamy sauces and I'm so glad I did, it was delicious. I call the restaurant and I make about 4 loops around the building trying to find the area for pickup... which they gave terrible instructions.... Nobody thought-"might be missing something" So I then go to move my car-finally find out where the pickup location is... call them and say I'm waiting and they actually have the nerve to ask me to go back into the store to pick up my food....when I asked for curbside... Got my food after an HOUR... no sorry-nothing. The burger and fries they did cook prior to finishing my order-were soggy and cold cause they sat for so long... So, I almost didn't make it to this place because of several negative reviews. However, my business partner insisted that Almost Famous has some of the most delicious, gourmet burgers in town. Well, the experience exceeded expectations. We both ordered Black Truffle Burgers, and oh boy, were they delicious! I've been cooking my entire life, and I know when I stumble on fresh, authentic food. Here's what was most impressive: a generous meat patty perfectly cooked (sides were NOT burned) that melted in your mouth, succulent mushrooms, delicious cheese oozing over crispy micro French fries, all inside brioche buns. I also learned that the restaurant buys their own fresh meat and grinds it on the spot, which makes all the difference compared to other restaurants that claim to prepare gourmet burgers. Nothing frozen - impressive! Another very pleasant element of this establishment were the sweet, wonderful women working behind the counter and cooking. So good I had the AF burger and it was so delicious. Cutting and grilling it is an original idea and it works. The AF sauce was amazing. My toddler loved the chicken tenders with the AF sauce.
