Pita Kitchen is a solid option when you have a craving for Mediterranean food. We got takeout from here the other night and the portions are huge! I got the chicken shawarma plate and really enjoyed all the flavors. The chicken was tender, the rice was buttery and the salad tasted fresh. Their tahini wasn't my favorite and the container it came in was so small I wish I had a little more. Also, the pita that came with my plate was pretty hard. Not sure if this is their style, but I prefer soft pita, not pita that is cracker-like. Loved the pickles and their babaganoush is amazing. If you haven't been I'd say it's worth checking out! Super small inside, but it's great for a quick dinner out or a super casual date night.

Pita Kitchen is a Mediterranean restaurant right outside of the heart of Ventura Blvd. The menu has relatively cheap dishes with plenty of options and generous portions of meat, rice, vegetables, pita bread, and other sides. Instead of being presented your food at your table, you pick up your food at a window outside of the kitchen area. Note that parking is pretty tough to find on the streets and the interior is very casual, so it's usually best for takeout. The cooks and chefs work quickly and efficiently every time we order! We got the beef shawarma wrap, beef shawarma plate, and chicken shawarma plate with cucumber tomato salad, fries, rice, pita bread, regular lettuce salad, and hummus. They provided a lot of garlic sauce and hummus for a family of four! Our food truly hit the spot.

I haven't been here in years but it's still as good as I recall. Authentic stuff. Come here if you're looking for the real deal. It's right off Ventura and Van Nuys next to newspaper stand. My falafel plate was great! Got the babaganoush and hummus as my choice of 2 sides with fries. Pita comes with it too. Great price given the portion sizes and quality. It's a casual spot you order at window. Seating inside and out. No problem getting a table today. Check it out, definitely worth it.

A very solid Mediterranean street spot that I've been coming to for 15 some years. They serve good quality food, with kabob's being succulent and tasty and shawarma being tender, well-marinated, juicy and normally coming as a generous portion. This was really the case today as well-- my chicken shawarma plate was huge, the shawarma was right of the grill, hot, tender, delicious and came on the bed of yummy rice. My sides were outstanding as well. The hummus was good and fresh and the baba ganoush was simply out of this world. With each bite of baba ganoush, I tasted the roasted eggplant perfection with such pleasantly intense flavor of it that it made me crave it more and more. And with that also came the perfectly creamy texture as well. Yum! The joint itself is a valley street spot on the busy Van Nuys blvd, but it definitely has some character and has seating area on the inside and outside, if you wanna people-watch and eat. The customer service was good and friendly. Will definitely come back again.

This is one of my favorite places to go and we will plan a trip to just come to the area to get this food. If you are within 15 minutes of this location, just go ahead and come on in. The service is fast and the indoor area is small but tidy. Outdoor there are heaters and a walk up window. Seriously don't skip on the PK.

Authentic Mediterranean cuisine at the heart of Ventura Blvd. Casual and chill vibe at the right price. The chicken shawarma wrap, Falafel, Salad and Pita are a must try. Service is fast. Street parking is a challenge and especially on weekends. Over all it was a pleasant and gastronomic experience.

My client was craving for some Falafel. We went to another place before ending up here. Parking here is a challenge. Better order your food online then come pick it up when it is ready. I parked on a red zone then went to order food to go. The food didn't take long which is wonderful. I didn't want to get a ticket. I ordered falafel and baba ganoush. It was my first time trying the BABA GANOUSH. I do eat eggplant but not like this. I put falafel and baba ganoush in a pita bread and WOW!!! It is definitely a good combination for me. Delicious!!! My client devoured her portion and she was very pleased with it. Craving satisfied. This place is small but it is popular. A few tables inside and a table outside. There's a big TV inside playing a ball game. One customer commented "good you have the game on". My client and I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. Recommended.

The shawarma plate also comes with a delicious lentil soup that perfectly starts the meal. Everything tastes fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. The service has always been friendly, and one of my favorite things about this restaurant is the people it brings together. During a weekday lunch, you'll hear English, Arabic, Armenian, and Hebrew all being spoken in the same dining room. It's a reminder that good food has a way of bringing people from all walks of life together. I wish the world mirrored this environment. The only thing I miss is the original décor. Before the remodel, the walls were decorated with beautiful photographs of Lebanon that gave the restaurant so much character. The updated space is clean, but it feels a little plain in comparison. If you're visiting on a weekend, expect a wait because this place is popular. Be sure to save room for the homemade baklava. I also appreciate that they're one of the few restaurants in Los Angeles that serves Coke Zero. This is one of those places I keep coming back to, and for good reason.

That's why I was excited to bring my girlfriend and her friend here today. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different. Our waiter, Amir, barely checked on our table. His greeting and every interaction with us felt monotone, rushed, and completely lacking any warmth. There wasn't a single smile or welcoming gesture throughout the meal. At one point, I walked to the restroom and, on my way back, saw the same waiter enthusiastically speaking Farsi and providing attentive, friendly service to several other tables. The contrast between how those tables were treated and how we were treated was impossible to ignore. Based on my experiences here, it certainly felt like customers who are Persian or speak Farsi receive a much warmer level of service than those who don't. The food is still good, but service is a big part of the dining experience. I left disappointed, especially after recommending this place to others. Unless you speak Farsi or are Persian expect mediocre to poor service. This shoutout is for you Amir! Hopefully management reads this review.
