Food is incredible. Presentation and flavor. Service is also very friendly and considerate and knowledgeable about their place. Krystal was amazing. Ambiance is what makes this place special especially later in the day. It has that nice cozy feel.

I've had Bacari bookmarked for a while (several locations, actually) and finally got the chance to check it out for Sunday brunch. Food and service were both great. Luke, our waiter, was attentive and made sure we had a really nice dining experience. I'm definitely a sweet-and-savory brunch girl, so I ordered the chef's French toast with a side of bacon and eggs. The French toast could honestly pass for dessert. It was delicious, topped with macerated berries, bananas, and whipped vanilla custard. The space has both patio and indoor seating. Valet parking is available: $12 for brunch and $15 for dinner.

Parking is 15 at dinner 12 at lunch or street parking which in this area is not fun. Always hard to find. The resturant was packed so call ahead for a reservation They take food allergies seriously and not only clearly mark the menu but have a special menu They even have a good gluten free bread and know about cross contamination Food was excellent we ordered several small plates to share we enjoyed Lamb Hummus fish may vegetables and falafel even with a group of 8 it was hard to limit the menu so many good choices We spent about fifty a person including tax and tip and some wine This not your corner Mediterranean restaurant. They have tables for two and long tables for groups You can eat inside or on the patio Service was good

Bacari Sherman Oaks is a wonderful restaurant- the food is delicious. Mac and Cheese, wings, and the pizzas were delicious. The highlight was the staff led by the manager, Lawrence - who was attentive, kind and professional. Highly recommend! The ambiance and style of Bacari is CHARMING!

What a vibe! An impromptu trip to LA found me here with my cousins and their friends enjoying a delicious dinner in a beautiful atmosphere. I followed the group's lead as they ordered family style, and every dish was amazing. My favorite dishes were the Asian Pear and Brie Pizza and the Lamb Hummus. I didn't get a drink, but everyone at the table had great things to say about the drinks. I hope I have another opportunity to try more and enjoy some of my new favorites.

Great customer service! Great food! Great drinks! Great atmosphere all around. Came here on a Friday to meet with old friends. Parking is hard to find around here but they have valet for $15 which comes in handy, reservation is for sure needed since this place is very popular. They have live music on Friday nights.

Another year, another visit to Bacari for my birthday. Could this be a tradition?! It might be! We come here other times too, but I chose to celebrate with my family again this year. Keep reading as to why this might not be a definite yes anymore. Reservations can be made via OpenTable and when you arrive, let the front desk know you have reservations and they'll check you in and call you up once your table is ready. Once at the front desk, we were greeted by the wonderful staff who sat us at our table. Unfortunately, that's where the attentiveness stopped. Once my group sat down, we immediately wanted to start with the Salatim and the waitress just asked if we wanted still, sparkling or filtered water and didn't ask the table if they wanted any other drinks. I wanted to celebrate with some cocktails, but I guess not. As more and more people arrived and filled the tables around us, our waitress started helping them and kind of forgot about us. We had to flag her down to get see if she could take a drink order in and she said she would be right back and tended to the other table. When she came back, she took our cocktail order and food items we wanted. Food arrived pretty quickly and as usual, were delicious. As we were finishing, we had to ask for the check. She left the mini clipboard on the table with the receipt for us to pay and left. We put a credit card in and we waited and waited and waited. We had to flag another gentleman that was working there to see if he could run the card for us instead. We paid and left. Hoping it was an off day for the waitress as everyone else seemed to be on point - especially the person bringing the food to us. This kind of ruined the day and the great experiences I had before here and at other Bacari restaurants. I will need to rethink coming here for next year's birthday lunch/dinner and if my family will still make this restaurant part of our rotation. Really disappointed with the service we received. I asked my sister's family if I was crazy and they too said the service was not great and it was their first time there.

Tripoline Pasta & Mediterranean Street Corn

Hands down one of my favorite Bacari locations! Staff is always so attentive and every dish is truly phenomenal. I always order an Asian Pear & Brie Pizza & Mediterranean style corn. Tonight I tried the Tripoline pasta which was green & rich in flavor, 10/10 I would definitely recommend these 3 dishes as well as their Love Letter (whiskey) & Express Yourself (vodka) cocktail. I found open seating for two at the bar & my bartender Jasper did an amazing job when I asked him to surprise me with a cocktail. He made me a Whiskey based Yuzu & lavender martini, next time you visit you should give it a try. Valet parking is offered ($12-15 can't remember) but there is also street parking which you pay $3-5 for at the nearest meter. Because of the rain and the traffic congestion today, I parked at the Ralph's parking structure across the street for about 2-3 hours & my car was still there lol. Just be wary but that is always an option.

We did our valentines weekend dinner tonight at Bacari Sherman oaks. Big dining crowd and a great vibe . Jose , Rachel and mgr Lester took expert care of us. Mac n cheese, Brussels sprouts in a balsamic sauce, stuffed mushrooms with a pinch of garlic and freshly baked baguette got us started . Deceptively small, rich plates . Flat iron steak was tender and perfectly cooked. Scallops in a carrot puree were well done and firm as ordered. My sea bass in a puree with a Mediterranean corn is my fav with skin on. A bread pudding dessert with ice cream served hot finished off an outstanding meal. Valet or street parking with a walk after a fine meal.

We decided to come here because my friend is flying back to Manila tomorrow and we wanted to have a nice send-off dinner. Another friend of ours had been wanting to try Bacari for a while, and since I always see this place packed, I thought this would be the perfect time to finally check it out. We didn't have reservations and were told the wait would be about an hour. The hostess was really nice though. After maybe 30 or 40 minutes, she let us know someone had canceled and we could be seated sooner. That part I appreciated. The vibe is honestly great. Dim lighting, cozy atmosphere, cool artwork on the walls, and a lively crowd. It feels trendy and energetic. I get why people like coming here. It feels like a place to hang out and talk for hours. Our server was awesome. Super accommodating and patient, especially since it was our first time and we had no clue what to order. Now the food. We ordered pasta, sea bass, salmon, and pita with dips. The pasta came out first. We actually thought it was an appetizer at first because of how it looked. It was good, flavor-wise. But the portion was really small. One person could have finished it in under two minutes. There were three of us sharing. Then came the sea bass. Same story. Tiny plate, small portion. It tasted okay. Nothing bad about it, but nothing memorable either. The salmon was similar. Decent, but very regular. Definitely not something I would crave again. A few nights before, we had salmon and sea bass at Joey in Woodland Hills, and that meal was honestly a 10 out of 10. This one felt like a 6 out of 10, and that's me being generous. My two friends actually said it was more like a 5. One of them even said our housekeeper makes better salmon at home, and we all kind of agreed. We left not really full and not really impressed. So here's my honest take. If you're coming for the vibe, it's great. If you're curious because it's always packed and there's hype around it, try it once. But if you're going mainly for the food or expecting generous portions, you might be disappointed. For us, it was probably a one-time experience. Great atmosphere. Very regular food. Very small servings.

Ambiance and service was great with Nikki. We came in for the DineLA experience . Food was ok but presentation was beautiful . We ordered: Espresso martini was great. Reminded me of a Vietnamese coffee with a light kick at the end 5/5 Bacarita with and without jalapeños. Both were well balanced . **side note: didn't feel a head change after 2 glasses though 5/5 Crudo was fresh and tasteful. There was too much spices on it for me. 4/5 Shakshouka was a bit bland 3/5 Smoked salmon pita was good 4/5 Potato tacos were good but a bit salty. Cilantro would've been great on it. Consistency was great 4/5 Chilequiles were too salty we couldn't finish it . Chips had great consistency 3/5 Vegan double chocolate cake was very rich fluffy and pairs well with a side of ice cream 4/5 Malabo is very rose water forward so if you're not into that this isn't for you. I thought it was a nice palette cleanser. It's different, fresh and well layered with texture and flavor 5/5

Asian Pear & Brie Pizza with Glazed Pork Belly
    Stephanie U.

I visited this Bacari location recently with my colleagues for dinner. It's a gorgeous space, absolutely worth the visit. The food was also delicious - I chose the glazed pork belly and the Asian pear & Brie pizza. (It went REALLY well together!) and I think I had a cider with. All delicious things. Our server was great - he let me pay my share separately so I could leave first. I always appreciate that kind of service. My only quibble, if you will, is that it was SO. DAMN. LOUD. in our section. Now, I'm not sure if it was the other tables around us, but it was so loud we could barely hear ourselves. It was also quite dark, but I've come to associate that with the Bacari experience as a whole (I've also visited the Silverlake location and it's just as dark there). Anyway, I'd totally come back. Maybe next time I'll sit outside.

I had no idea it existed, but when we were coming back from another spot in Sherman Oaks we passed it. I love Italian food so I looked it up here on Yelp and was impressed with what I saw and made a reservation right away. Oliva serves lunch every day from 11 to 2, which is perfect for us. It took us only 20 minutes to get there and we found free parking right out in front on Van Nuys Boulevard. Easy! Once inside I was bowled over by how pretty it is and how like the trattorias I frequented all over Italy. I can only imagine how it glitters and sparkles at night. It is a large space with multiple seating areas, a glorious bar, and an old fashioned pizza oven, so we could watch them make pizza and their home made bread, which they bring to the table gratis, with their own bespoke olive oil and vinegars from Italy. Our carer, Ricardo, spoke perfect Italian and I did my best to reply in kind. Overhead was all the best Italian musical hits that are familiar and popular here, which I appreciate. I like the atmosphere of a restaurant to reflect and enhance the cuisine. Everything got better and better from the minute we arrived. We got to pick our own seats, as this is the time of day when people are usually in between meals, especially on weekend days. We chose to sit in a cheerful spot, bathed in daylight through the spotless windows. Everything is pristine and immaculate -- even the ceilings (see my pictures). There are so many vegetarian options for me on the menu that I know I will have to return again and again to try them all. Every single thing we ordered was superb -- really, the best of its kind. Ricardo was the perfect host. He seemed to appear as if by magic when we even thought about asking for something and was so polite, that we realized how rare this kind of professional courtesy is anywhere in America these days. In Europe, restaurant service is a trained and valued profession and Ricardo embodied that approach when taking care of us. I had to contain my joy and almost squealed when I saw our two desserts (see my photos). First class everything: top quality linens, flatware, glasses, stone floor, hand painted murals, lights twinkling elegantly all over the main rooms and a wine selection at the bar that looked brilliantly curated. Some of the best coffee I have had in ages (Danesi), too. There is no doubt in my mind that Oliva Trattoria can rival the best of the West Side famous Italian places that we all make the obligatory trek to at some point. As far as I am concerned, when I want upscale perfection in a trattoria, Oliva will be my go-to.

My wife's Chicken Piccata was light and lemony, served with mashed potatoes and fresh sautéed veggies. An excellent preparation of a classic. Dessert was the banana brûlée-topped Nutella tart. There's no complaints at all and it's a quaint restaurant. Enjoy, if you do go here. I'm sure their Italian cuisine is great too. I don't live in California, but when I return, we will come here again. Peter, the owner, top notch, great customer service. Thank you.

Different regions prepares food differently however we really enjoyed all of our dishes. My dad enjoyed the cherry soup, and I loved that my chicken paprikás was on the creamier side. I recommend if you order bread, make sure to leave room for your meal. The freshly baked bread was soooo good though, we were so full by the time we reached dessert. We were just so excited to try everything! Köszönöm szépen !

Uovo absolutely lives up to the hype. Thomas was great!…read more The biggest thing that stands out is how fresh everything tastes--especially the pasta. Knowing it's flown in from Italy daily sounds like a gimmick, but once you try it, you get it. The texture is unreal--perfectly al dente and way different from your typical spot. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe and the Carbonara, and both were incredible. The Cacio e Pepe was simple but ridiculously flavorful, and the Carbonara was rich without being too heavy. You can tell they focus on doing a few things really well instead of overcomplicating the menu. Service was fast and efficient, and the whole place has a clean, modern vibe. It does get busy, so expect a bit of a wait, but turnover is quick so it's not a dealbreaker. If you're a pasta person, this spot is a must. Easily one of the best casual Italian meals in LA.

Eggplant parm was the order on everyone's lips. And as a respected parm picker -- I was tasked with vetting its worthiness. When asked, "Is the eggplant thinly sliced, crispy, layered, and covered in a rich, savory sauce," the waiter replied, "It's my son's favorite dish." My reputation was on the line I looked at the waiter, he looked at me, and he added, "Even my wife likes it." We took the plunge. The layered stack arrived, bubbling with cheese and red sauce in a hot skillet -- a good sign! Sauce was a 7/10 -- could've used another day on the stove. But If the number of doggy bags that left the restaurant was any indication, parm was a pickleball hit -- and likely on everyone''s dinner plates tonight. Highly recommended.

Maria's Italian Kitchen is very welcoming and a good size. Plenty of tables and chairs available for seating both inside and outside. They can accommodate a huge party like they did with us. Thank you to their awesome manager Jacob who provided excellent customer care to us on both our visits. Reserving this restaurant with Jacob was easy and very pleasant. We had an excellent experience both times here at Maria's Italian Kitchen. Our first visit we had Denise as our waiter and she was great. Thank you Denise. She made recommendations and was considerate and attentive in regards to food allergies as our child has peanut and tree nut food allergies. She made sure that food items on our menu did not contain peanuts nor tree nuts. For our first visit we ordered Calamari Fritti, Rosemary Bread Basket, Fettuccine Alfredo with Gulf Shrimp, Calamari Fra Diavolo, Chicken Piccata and Cheese Pizza. All our meals were freshly cooked and brought out in a timely manner. Portion sizing was just right. Denise stopped by several times to replenish our water and check on us. For our second dining experience at Maria's Italian Kitchen Jake was our waiter for our child's birthday party on a Saturday afternoon for party of 18 people. Jake was also excellent and attentive to the individuals with food allergies. He made sure that the kitchen was aware and informed us that none of the meals and food items for our party had peanuts, nuts or pesto. Thank you Jake. Our party ordered a variety of meals and food items on the menu. Perfect portion sizing and options. Some of our guests took their food home to go. We had 3 orders of Calamari Fritti, 4 Chicken Piccata, 1 Shrimp Scampi, 1 Large Shrimp Diavolo, 1 Chicken Marsala, 1 medium Cheese Pizza, 1 Large Carbonara, 4 Large Alfredo, 1 Large Alfredo with Shrimp, 2 Kids Cheese Pizza, 1 Honey Chicken with Fries, 4 Basket of Bread, 3 Coke, 1 brownie sundae and bottle of Peroni. We will be back here to dine with other family and friends and to book another birthday with Jacob in a few months. Thank you again Jacob, Jake and Denise for the delicious meals and excellent customer service.
