Came on a Saturday morning around 11, thought it'd be superrrrrr crowded but my party of 4 actually got seated pretty quickly - within 15 min. Of course last time was a different story, so it's hit or miss! But worth the wait! We tried lots of items and again, all delicious and generous portions. If you're heading to Blu Jam, come prepared with two qualifications: (1) a healthy appetite and (2) decent tech skills. The dining experience has changed quite a bit. Ordering is now done through your phone, or, if you're like me and prefer human interaction, you can walk up to the counter and place your order there. Unfortunately, the traditional waiter-service (although there was a bottle of water on the table) experience is gone, which took away some of the charm that restaurants used to offer. For me, that was a bit of a disappointment. Ironically, I still found myself tipping the cashier. As for the food, there were some highlights. My wife's avocado toast was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. My chilaquiles were tasty as well, but not without issues. The eggs were cooked over easy and were much runnier than I would have preferred, and the chicken portion was surprisingly sparse. Love this place. I've been coming here for years, and it's become a tradition for a friend and me to meet up every few months on a Sunday to catch up. I'm a big fan of the QR code ordering system. No waiting around or trying to flag someone down when you're ready for another coffee or want to add something to your order. At this point, I've probably worked my way through half the menu, and I honestly haven't had a bad meal here. Parking can be a little annoying, but that's the Valley for you. Wait times can vary depending on when you go. Most of the time, a party of two is seated within 10 to 15 minutes, but occasionally it's immediate. Came here during a week day morning and it was fairly crowded! We were seated right away and explained that there was no traditional wait service but instead we could scan the QR code and order through there or go back to the host stand to order. Thankfully I am tech savvy because I was feeling too lazy to go back to the host stand! Met a friend for a weekend brunch and we found this restaurant on yelp as the halfway point. First impression was great. The place is cozy, rustic and very family friendly with kids drawing/artwork displayed throughout. They also have a nice patio seating option, but it was a bit cold the day we went. We were immediately greeted and told that we can order via the QR code process or go to the front to order/pay and it's a cashless restaurant. Service was prompt and attentive. We tried the spring omelette, berry crepes and oatmeal. Everything was beautifully presented and satisfying. Street parking is available, first 2 hours are free during the day but there is also a small parking lot behind the restaurant, however parking is very limited. Upon entering, you're greeted by a host and have the option of sitting inside or outside. The restaurant operates on a self-seating system & you can either order your own food with a barcode on the table or go up front to the host. If you're the type of person that doesn't really want to interact too much with staff, then this is the spot for you. I ordered the Blu Jam Eggs Benedict with potatoes and it was nothing special. The potatoes were crispy but bland. Food wise, everything was lacking salt but the tabanero hot sauce did justice to add so much flavor to the panini and potatoes. Panini was beautifully toasty and extremely filling. Ingredients is very healthy and clean which may be why its was lacking so much salt.
