First time visiting this place for brunch and was impressed with food and service. We've ordered omelet and tofu scramble with hash browns. it was tasty, not salty at all. Our server was nice, she paid attention to food allergies and even talked to the chef twice with a smile to confirm food ingredients. Pricing is reasonable. Place has indeed moderate noise but, tolerable. Parking is around the corner but pay attention to closer parking with signage or they will tow your car. Overall, I will recommend this place.
It's been almost a year since I was last here. Not far from home so it was always a good spot for breakfast. Thinking of it, I don't think I've had anything else besides breakfast here. Not even a sandwich or a salad. Guess it's alway been a breakfast spot for us. Same with parking, front and back lot available. Depending on the time you arrive, it does get busy and have a wait. Little tip, you could just go to the bar counter if you don't want to wait for a table. Most people prefer a table but I don't mind the bar counter. The wait time does move pretty fast as they have a decent amount of tables inside as well the tables on the patio. Majority is in the shade but the patio area can be sunny even with the umbrellas. Menu, whatever you want for breakfast. The savory and sweets for everyone's preference. Pancake, loads to choose from and it's pretty massive. Waffles, scrambled, omelette, breakfast special, sandwiches, lunch and more. I tend to just stick to breakfast which is alway delicious. This visit, we had the MVP omelette, comes with potatoes of choice, fruit or tomatoes slices. Bread of choice or bagel. The Santa Rita scrambled and Mexicali omelette. Of course you needed something sweet which we also ordered the Lady Marmalade, pumpkin pancakes which was great. The food has alway been great and delicious. Staff are alway friendly and sweet. I did noticed that they had a lot of new staff compared to the last time I was here. Still some familiar faces and everyone was a doll. They're only open for breakfast and lunch with breakfast tending to be packed during the weekend. Food, service and experience is alway amazing. Until next time and highly recommend.
We had a really good brunch at The Nook! I ordered the breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon and asked for my eggs over medium instead of hard, it came out exactly right and was absolutely delicious. I think it would be delish on the same garlic/parm grilled sourdough on my husbands sandwich! I also asked for my hash browns well done, but unfortunately they weren't. Didn't eat them! My husband had the turkey club with onion rings, and both were made to perfection. The food was definitely the highlight! Service could use a little more attention. Once our food was delivered, we had to track down our server, so drink refills were pretty scarce. At the end of the meal, we also had to flag someone down just to get our check. That said, the food was great enough that we'll absolutely be back. Hopefully next time the service matches the kitchen!
One of two around Los Angeles. The other is down near LMU. I wouldn't really call it a diner, it's more of a traditional breakfast restaurant and can be a nice option, especially if some of the really popular ones have longer lines. This location in the valley has much easier parking and our server was very polite and friendly. Inside is also larger here and can host many different sized groups. It was very crowded when we stopped in for our Saturday brunch, but the tables turned pretty quickly. For this visit, I chose the Baja Benedict, which was a special which was basically an Eggs Benedict with avocado and pico de gallo on top. It was very good and eggs were cooked perfectly although I really wish they would have chorizo. We also ordered some of the strawberry Red Velvet pancakes and thought they were a great sweet treat. Overall, this is a nice option and I would recommend if you're searching for some breakfast.
Treated myself to a solo breakfast the other morning since I had a little extra time to myself. I hadn't been to The Nook in years and remembered they had a pretty good menu so I decided to stop by since I was already headed in that direction. I got there pretty early, around 9am, and there were already a few people dining. I ended up ordering sunny side up eggs, a side of bacon and a waffle. Everything was great and the customer service was excellent. I'll have to remember to stop by again soon. I forget that it's tucked away in this small shopping center next to the other plaza that has the Michael's and Yamatos.
So I'm in the middle. Really bad latte - tasted like burnt coffee water. Then it's expensive just for okay regular coffee. Service was sweet but largely inattentive, but they were busy. Waffle was quite good and fresh. Eggs and bacon were standard. I'd prefer thicker bacon but the portions are good. My friend got the special Benedict that came with pico de gallo except the pico had jalapeño slices cut in half all over it. Not normal pico. She had to pick those out. Her hashed browns were okay. I think they need to be crispier - mostly pretty dark on edges but super mushy inside. I think it's worth a visit but it's pretty basic diner food. If that's what you want, this is a great place.
The Nook is a convenient, comfortable breakfast spot that's nicely appointed and clean as can be, with a welcoming staff. Weekends will be busy and there will be a wait for a table, but I ventured in with some friends on a Wednesday, and we were quickly seated. On this occasion, our server took a fairly long time to come to our table, and was very low energy. One got the sense that she may have been preoccupied with some things, but she was still professional and did everything that needed to be done, so let's just chalk up the lack of enthusiasm to a Wednesday blues. I ordered the Hash Benedict, which replaces the traditional Canadian bacon with Corned Beef Hash but otherwise has all the usual Benedict elements. The eggs were poached nicely, with just the right amount of "runniness" to them, and the Hollandaise sauce had a pleasingly acidic bite and an enjoyably light consistency. The corned beef hash, however, was unmemorable. Not much flavor and perhaps a bit too heavy for adding so little taste to the dish. One friend ordered the Fort Lox, which is the Nook's take on the Jewish deli staple, Lox, Eggs and Onions. It was a generous portion, expertly scrambled, and served with properly browned breakfast potatoes. He ate every bite, and enjoyed it. His wife ordered the Big Mamma Omelette: eggs whites folded over spinach, veggie sausage, garlic, jalapenos and mushrooms, then topped with melted mozzarella. This was also a very generous portion, again served with nicely browned potatoes. Lots of ingredients, lots of flavor, and lots of satisfaction. All in all, this was a good, mid-week breakfast, though I'd not order the hash again (that's a personal thing), and I hope our server finds some bliss in the coming days.
We decided to try the breakfast and were positively surprised how amazing it was. I had the vegetable omelette and all the ingredients were fresh and so good. Seasoning on point. Pancake are huge and so good. I mean wow. The breakfast burrito was like 2 pounds of pure yummy. We will be back.
A super yummy breakfast! Came after Pilates class and it was so filling with a variety of options. They have healthier light options and decadent breakfast options like Nutella crepe. Service was nice and it was busy but service was still solid and checked in frequently.
We had book club here today and we definitely enjoyed it. The location is super clean and has inside and outside seating. The wait was less than 10 minutes which is fantastic for brunch. Our waitress was very kind. Our food came out fast and we all enjoyed what we ordered. The only thing that wasn't very good was the French toast. It was way too dry and the Nookies Benedict was lacking sauce. But everything else made up for it. The pricing is also amazing. Definitely worth checking out.
I mean the burrito was not the best. I was expecting a flavor filled breakfast burrito but it was ok. 5/10 The hash browns came out burnt so that was a bummer. Although my Iced Mocha brought some joy to my experience. Like the small and busy breakfast rush on a Saturday morning after the gym! Recently went here with my family for Brunch and ordered our usuals - 1 order of Green Machine $17.95, 2 orders of Eggs Benedict $17.50 and 1 order of 6-4-3 with Chocolate Crunchy Toast. The food is the same quality, taste and portion, I love how they keep the price of their menu reasonable. We recently also went to one of the breakfast place in Tarzana that also has the Green Machine and that place was I think overpriced their menu over the years so we decided to drive 2 miles more. The service here is great, lots of staff that are very attentive, the place was really packed and there was a lots of people are waiting to be seated but we only waited 15 min for party of 4. The inside is still the same as when we last went there, same tables, chairs and faces of the servers. Lots of seating inside and out. Will definitely go back here and drive that extra 2 miles that to eat at the other overpriced place.
First time at this place and I have only one word for it; excellent! Service was amazing, it was friendly and attentive from the opening the door for us to come in to our attentive server that brought us the extra plate (we were sharing) without having to be asked. The place is super clean (from the bathroom to the dining room). Finally the food. The food was well price for today's economy and absolutely delicious. The Hash Benedicts and Baked Apple Crepe were done to perfection. Highly recommend this place and will definitely will come back with the family.

My go to Sunday brunch spot, I've never met a dish here I didn't like. Their pancakes are my favorite, I get them with the Sac Fly. Any time I have a guest in town this is where I'll bring them. So many options and everything delicious. It has a family vibe, the staff here is so nice and everything comes relatively fast. I always debate reviewing my favorite spots so they don't blow up but this locals spot deserves the shout out. read more
I think it's time for an updated review, can't believe it's been so long. However, it goes to show that we still come back to this great spot. Considering it was a holiday, we didn't have to wait for too long, it took about 20min. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the service is fast which is why the wait wasn't too long. The menu can be a little overwhelming if you're hungry, because they have so many yummy options from pancakes, crepes, waffles, omelette and lunch sandwiches. Since I love breakfast, my go to is usually a scramble or omelette. I went with the La Fonda scramble with cottage cheese on the side. Everything came out within 10min and food is good. My only complaint was that it was really loud inside, I found myself having to yell across the table. Would probably sit outside next time. read more

I'm always looking for the best matcha pancakes and The Nook has become one of my go-to spots when I'm in the area. This place, in my opinion, is an underrated spot which offers great food whether you're in the mood for breakfast or lunch, great service, and, of course, pancakes! Literally the trifecta of all trifectas. And aside from pancakes I love coffee that is strong and refillable and this place definitely offers that. This is a great way for me to spend a lazy Sunday morning, treat myself to breakfast and have a relaxing time. Can't wait to come back again soon! read more
Delicious food every time. My favorite are the Benedict's or Matcha pancakes. Most portions are large and perfect for splitting. Parking is free in the lot or there is street parking too. read more

Visiting Encino where our son and daughter in law live. They took us to neighborhood spot for brunch. Wonderful experience. Busy, waiting line outside. Put our name in for five and told it would be 30 to 40 minutes but we were lucky and seated in about 10 minutes. Great service from getting drinks, to ordering, to food arriving and receiving check. We also felt comfortable and never rushed. The food was done just as ordered, everything arrived at once, warm and all was delicious. Great service, friendly people, we had a wonderful brunch and able to enjoy ourselves and have a great visit with family. Highly recommended whether you are one, two, or many more. Great place for family as well. Large and varied menu. read more

The food was absolutely outstanding. I went here with my family and we all shared a little something of everything & it was all so delicious. The food came out in a reasonable time. The only thing I would improve is the servers attitude. Seemed like she had no personality but it was no big deal, she got us everything we needed! I never went inside but it was nice to eat outside on a sunny morning. :) I would definitely come back. read more

The best breakfast cafe. We ordered a Vanilla & Mocha Latte (Iced) which was really delicious as well. It was our first time here, the service was excellent and the ambiance was so cute as it felt like we were in italy. I will be coming back again to try all the other breakfast items :) read more
