I have been here 3 times in the past and surprisingly didn't do a review on them. Well, there is a first time for everything. So here it goes. My friend had an early flight to catch, and we wanted to eat together before she took off to Burbank airport. We walked in on the 22nd of this month at exactly 7:35am, and were nicely greeted by Brian and another employee by the name of Carolina. Both were very nice, and somewhat helpful. Checked on us few times. You order at the counter, they give you a number and you get to choose whether or not you want to sit inside or outside. We chose to sit inside since it was still a little cold to sit outside. Place was very clean, and for it being open 24/7, there was no one inside the restaurant. It's a nice size restaurant along with another restaurant that sells sushi. Right inside/adjacent, separated by a wall. Unfortunately, it was closed due to renovation. Too bad, I wanted to get some sushi for later on. Brian, being a young, new employee took our order and needed some help from Carolina. He was working there for less than 5 months. We ordered a few things from their super extensive menu that practically has everything from A to Z. Not going to get too much into details, took a lot of pictures and you can see them for yourself. Got their Garden Omelette with: broccoli, green/yellow zucchini, tomato, Mozzarella cheese, sautéed mushrooms, comes with salad and I had asked for Ranch dressing, but they still put their Vinaigrette dressing which I don't like. (people don't listen well). I also asked for the Turkey bacon that it came with to be extra crispy. It was less than cooked, let alone crispy. Sent the plate back TWICE and still, bacon didn't come to our table crispy. Food was really fresh and delicious. Somewhat hot too. We also got their Crave Benedict, asked for the eggs to be over medium, and it came with poached eggs. Sides were Hash Browns and we asked for sautéed spinach instead of both-- the bacon and the ham. At this point, I was exhausted to correct their mistakes, and very hungry. Asked for the Hollandaise sauce to be on the side, and they didn't even bring the sauce. It also came with side of fruit. Sliced Oranges and Strawberries. Very fresh fruit. Eventually got the Spinach, but it was steamed. Not to forget to mention the Sourdough bread was way overly toasted. I also got their large hot Lavender Latte with Oat milk, made to perfection! Nice and hot. She stayed with water. As we were about to leave, I told Carolina to take the Benedict back, which was not even touched, She asked me "what's wrong with it"? I replied "EVERYTHING"! Instead, I ordered their Turkey Panini Sandwich with: lettuce, tomato, Mozzarella cheese, sprouts, with a touch of Pesto spread that also came with salad. It was just swapping the food. So there was only a $2.00 difference. It has 3 gender neutral restrooms. Used them twice and they were super clean. Has street parking and few spots in the back of the Cafe. It was all taped up with yellow tape, like some kind of a crime scene was happening. This place is overly rated. Not like the Crave Cafe in Studio City. That's all for now. Prices were affordable for the portions of their food.
We had delicious tuna panini's! We ordered at the register and the gentleman was kind and helpful. There is a fantastic dessert selection at the front and I couldn't help but get a "Moise" chocolate cake to go. Their cake serving was HUGE! The atmosphere was laid back, nice for a short lunch. We did wait a while till we were served our sandwiches. Nice little stop with a great selection of entrees and desserts.
My family stopped by this location after a doctor's appointment. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that they were open 24 hours and they had an extensive menu. I ordered the two egg breakfast with sourdough toast and a Americano. My daughter ordered a breakfast burrito, and my husband ordered oatmeal. We were all extremely happy with our meals. Not one complaint. My eggs were creamy, soft, and fluffy, and the hash browns were crisp, and golden brown with a tender center. My daughter described her burrito as simply delicious with the green salsa. Also, for a more indulgent meal, you can always add a sweet treat. The dazzling array of baked goods were too good to pass up. My daughter had to try the Dubai Chocolate Chip Cookie. It was delicious! Service was top notch. I will definitely visit this place in the future.
My family and I were first-time visitors to this restaurant. We'd driven by here dozens of times, but we decided to stop for breakfast. Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised by how nice and large the restaurant was the minute we stepped inside. It was extremely clean, well maintained, well organized, and inviting. Two employees immediately welcomed us. Amazing-looking pastries and cookies were on display in enclosed glass cases. The huge menu options were clearly posted on the menu board hanging on the wall behind the counter, and the aroma of delicious food being cooked and prepared filled the air. Employee Carolina took our order at the counter. Carolina was extremely friendly, outgoing, hardworking, and answered each of our questions regarding a couple of the items on the menu. My family and I ordered a 2-egg breakfast with turkey bacon, hash browns, and sourdough; steel-cut oats with banana; a turkey bacon panini; and a Dubai chocolate cookie. We also ordered a few pastries to go. I can honestly share that our food was DELICIOUS!! Each item was flavorful, seasoned perfectly, and filling. We were very happy with our breakfast. Carolina and our young waiter provided top-notch service. You two were AMAZING!! This restaurant is open 24/7, and according to employee Carolina, they only close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Metered street parking is available on Ventura Blvd. Thank you, Crave Cafe, for a very positive dining experience.
Tried this spot for the first time before grabbing some Gelato next door!! Parking again is not great along Ventura. Basically all metered parking unless you park in some kind of shopping center and just walking over. High ceilings and huge menu!! Lots of seating and even some outside. You walk in and order your food up front, they give you a number for your table and you can sit anywhere. My bf got the strawberry cream cheese crepe, I got a medium iced hazelnut latte, and their chicken and waffles. The lady asked if I wanted wings or tenders for my waffles and I went for the tenders for once. I usually prefer wings but didn't want to deal with the mess at the time. We sat at our table and food came out pretty quickly. The young man gave us our food and asked if we needed anything else and yes actually, we did. My chicken and waffles didn't come with butter or syrup so I obviously had to ask for it which he had in his pocket anyway and gave it to me? It was weird, I'm sure he just forgot but still.. my chicken and waffles were bare lol! The chicken tenders had the texture of nuggets so that threw me off a little but I liked it! Wasn't your usual tenders and more like big nuggies haha. My bf's "utensils" didn't come with a fork, just a knife but it was also all wrapped nicely so that was weird. The waiter brought him a new one and asked if we needed anything else before taking our number. I said no and he got out of there real fast and I forgot I didn't even get my drink yet. I had to get up and run after him to ask for my drink. Overall the service wasn't great but the food was delish and I would definitely still come back to try their other food!! IG: @ammysalamii
As promised in my last write-up if I/we didn't hear from management here is the video that I took of this place during regular business hours and management didn't care to stop this outrageous into action with the restaurant and its regular customers. We were also told that the owners knew about this and okayed this outrageous language and action in the restaurant.
Crave Café is easily one of my absolute favorite spots! I've been coming here for a while now, and it never fails to impress. If you come here, you have to try the California Crave Burger. Think of it as an upgraded, massive version of In-N-Out--juicy beef, American cheese, classic thousand island sauce, fresh tomatoes, and lettuce. The burgers are huge and extremely filling; I usually cut mine in half and save the rest for the next day because the portions are so generous. Pro-tip: add avocado and extra grilled onions, and definitely ask for extra sauce on the side! Pair it with their incredible fries, and you're set. Beyond the burgers, their menu is stacked with delicious options made fresh--from crêpes, pancake sandwiches, and breakfast burritos to scratch-made salads, daily baked cookies, pastries, smoothies, and pizza. The atmosphere is great, too. You can sit inside for a cozy café vibe or sit outside to people-watch along busy Ventura Boulevard. To top it all off, the service is always super friendly and kind. Whether you're stopping by for a quick bite or a full meal, this place is 100% worth checking out. Highly recommend~~~
*Updated review 12 years and 2 kids later* I used to come here over a decade ago when this place was 24 hours or closed extremely late (I can't remember. Probably faded at the time) and we would come in after clubbing or attending rap battles a few stores down at the record shop. Now Crave has turned into my 6 year olds favorite breakfast spot before dropping him off at school (wow have times changed!). It's located a few blocks from his school so we stop in a little after they open and I let him go crazy on the menu and order whatever he wants. Every time time we arrive, the lady who takes our order is so patient with my son as he tries to figure out what he wants and she asked him normal questions about his order and I just get a kick out of their interactions. The place is usually empty and very clean. They are actually still cleaning up a few things when we arrive, while setting up a few things on the patio. We enjoy sitting on their comfy couches in the corner and if it's nice outside, the patio is a great option (although you are on the corner of Van Nuys Blvd and Ventura Blvd intersection during traffic so there is a lot of honking going on). The food is still great and we've ordered a lot of items on the menu. We've had everything from breakfast burritos, French toast, salmon, to fish tacos, and yogurt parfaits. We honestly haven't had a bad meal yet. They also make smoothies which I haven't had the chance to try yet and it seems like they can honestly make anything you ask them for. They have an assortment of pastries, cookies, and cakes and they have a wide variety of drinks such as smoothies, Italian sodas, milkshakes, boba coffee and tea. Don't even get me started on their lunch options. This is a great place to come to if you have come with a small or large group of people and you need a variety of options to please everyone. This is still a 5 Afro establishment to me, and we will keep coming back to try more food and drinks. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros
This place is a great place to satisfy cravings, their menu has a lil of everything. Orange juice tasted like the tropical orange juice, the flat bread was very simple can't go wrong with it, and they had great selection of teas, the raspberry pomegranate was very refreshing!
One of my go-to's for hangout spots in the LA/Valley area! Crave Cafe always delivers in just about every aspect - it's solid on food, service, comfort, and vibes. I love places like this, where it doesn't necessarily get all the attention on social media regularly, but it oftentimes is the BEST spot overall for getting exactly what you need out of a food spot/hangout location. You order at the counter, but they serve you at your table afterwards, and everyone is always so friendly and accommodating. I particularly love the sandwiches here, especially the Chicken Pesto Panini. Toasty & delicious, just as it should be! I also love that it comes with a refreshing and healthy side salad. The WiFi is on point, the vibes are chill and comfy, the food hits, and the service is great. What more could you need?! I love Crave Cafe.
I stopped by here this morning to pick up crepes for my wife. I placed my order online and put in the notes to put the Nutella and powder sugar on the side. If you never been here then just know it's street parking only. I always park across the street in a plaza with other stores and then just walk to this place. There are other parking garage nearby but I don't know if you have to pay now to park there. I arrived early and checked in with the lady at the counter. She said they were still working on it but it will be ready soon. Make sure to check your food is made the way you request it before you leave because I didn't and when I got home, I saw the Nutella and powder sugar was not on the side. It's not the end of the world but I would've hope they made it in the way i requested it because my wife doesn't like a lot of toppings on it. This place has a decent amount of seating inside and only like 4 tables outside. It's a great place with a lot of options on food or drink or just dessert. The bathroom is toward the back of the place.
I've been coming here for over a decade, and Crave is still a great go-to spot for a late-night dessert and coffee. Walked over after dinner and got the Nutella crepe and a latte -- perfection. The menu is huge, but I'm usually just here for dessert. You place your order at the counter and grab a seat, and there's usually plenty of seating. The staff bringing out the food are always in great spirits and genuinely kind, which really adds to the experience. Super chill vibes all around -- always a great stop!

I had a great experience at Crave Cafe in Sherman Oaks! I came in friday morning before heading to work and the guys who took my order were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The food portions were generous, everything was delicious, and the overall atmosphere had such a welcoming vibe. You definitely get your money's worth with the serving size! Great food, great service, and a place I'd definitely come back to. Highly recommend! read more

Crave Cafe has been around for a while now I remember going way back during my college days. I visited recently and it was nice to see the place still had good business. I went on a Monday night and it was packed with people but the service was still quick. There were a lot of people with laptops studying or doing work so the ambiance is good enough to work here. They are also 24hrs so you can come any time for a meal or study time. I love the display of pastries they have they look really good and were hard to resist so I got one! I got the creme brulee and it was really yummy! My only complaint was that the bathroom couldve been cleaner, and the parking in the back smelled bad but I understand that the smell in the back isnt too much to their control considering the dumpster and perhaps homeless people. Overall a great cafe to visit in the valley! read more

Brought extra friends tonight they were here for the first time from Compton and they were so pleased with Mario and his service, and the young lady taking out request. I appreciate the service were different this time from last time.. Just because the experience was bad doesn't mean I won't come here again love this place read more

We generally have had a very good experience with this restaurant, particularly Crave Sushi. Crave Cafe does very good burgers and Paninis. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of ordering the Beef Fajitas from their takeout/delivery menu. They should call the dish Red and Green Pepper Fajitas, because it hardly had any beef and the beef that was in the dish was cut up into 1/4 to 1/3 inch chunks. This wasn't Beef Fajitas. It was Beef Tacos or a Beef Burrito. We also ordered Birria tacos, but got a call from the restaurant saying they were out of Birria. So we substituted with chicken. At least the chicken in the tacos was in 1/2 inch chunks and more meaty than the Fajitas. I've attached the Beef Fajitas photo from their website, which shows strips of beef, garnished with peppers and onions. It looks nothing like the dish we received, which was no meat buried in green and red peppers. I'm aware there's no truth in advertising. But, we paid $17.50 for Fajitas that looked like something you'd get at Taco Bell. Please improve this item or remove it from your menu. Thanks. read more
My original plan was to come here for a quick breakfast (since I was in the area). However, my short visit to Crave Cafe on Ventura Boulevard, in Sherman Oaks, turned out to be even more brief than I expected. You order at the counter, then pay, they provide you a table holder with a number, you choose the table you desire and they bring the order to your seating area. The menu is vast and filled with both breakfast, lunch and dinner selections. Impressive that they are open till 2 am. There is both inside and outside seating. When you walk in, several cakes and pastries are staring at you when you order by the order at the counter. You will need strong will power or else you will be seduced. Service was prompt. This Crave Cafe is local to may... Sorry, me... (although in three weeks it's gonna be May). A cool 18/7 [20/2 on Fridays and Saturdays] of food, coffee + various beverages, desserts and vibes you're surely to enjoy off the corner of Ventura Blvd/Van Nuys courtesy the city of Sherman Oaks. Good caffeinated sips, both cold and hot. Yummy vegan burger that hits the spot + tons of veggie friendly options. They do cool burgers, burritos, paninis, pizza, waffles, salads, crepe, entrees and assortment of foodie variety for all times of day. I typically have great service here and enjoy dining inside. The patio is great, mainly during the afternoon or day. Right next to and near local shops and spots. You can get parking on the street, though it's metered. Some pay lots close by if you don't mind a short brisk walk. Ordering can be a little of a wait, but not by much. Free wi-fi and a lot of places to sit with Crave Sushi, right next too/attached to it. Pet friendly, TVs, Music, and a worth trying experience. Q Note: I order delivery once in a while and prefer S.O. to their Studio City location that seems to have higher pricing for some reason O.O, but also different hours and a few other options. read more

Everything here was just...mid. The food had some flavor but was still somehow lacking -- like it almost got there but didn't quite make it. Same with the coffee -- not bad, but definitely not memorable either. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. The real highlight was the service. The guy at the front desk was genuinely awesome -- super helpful, friendly, and had a great attitude. That alone made the visit better. The café itself is pretty clean, not too loud, and the AC was working great on a hot day, which made it a comfortable spot to sit for a bit. Parking's a little tricky -- a couple of spots in the back, but mostly street parking. Overall, not a bad place, but not one I'd rush back to. Just solidly average. read more
I have to say that Crave is kind of a perfect place for me. No frills, laid back, exposed brick walls. You walk up and order, I recommend looking at the menu ahead of time if possible because the menu on the wall is huge. I started with dessert because it's my three day weekend. I had a red velvet cookie and a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which are my two favorite flavors in all cookiedom. For my meal I went with the Crave smash burger and dipping fries. The burger had a great flavor and the dipping fries I can only compare to huge Fritos scoops. They come with ranch but they would be perfect covered with chili and cheese. My wife went with a chicken pesto pizza on wheat crust. The wheat crust had a great chew and she enjoyed it. We will be back and I have my eye in a big red velvet cupcake!! Breakfast food was served cold and I sent it back to be heated up. The warm version was just gross. They prominently display a sign "No Refunds".. My guess is people have asked for refunds more than once. I didn't ask for a refund but definitely won't be going back. read more

Always good food.The strawberry cheesecake I had my amazing. Perfect flavor and texture. My daughter loved her Nutella Crepes. Presentation was good, portions were good, and the flavor was perfect. Warm crepes, and fresh cold fruit is the perfect combo. Our server Diana was very friendly and helpful and is the reason I will be coming to this location over the Sherman Oaks location from here on. Chill ambiance during the day when we went. Few people hanging out sipping coffee listening to music or having a sandwich enjoying the warm day. This is one of my go-to places. At least with what I ordered...it was okay. That being said, Yelp reviews are just our opinions. And, well... opinions are like A-h****s, everyone has one. As long as that's kept in mind;) It always will be best not to fully listen but to experience what you can for yourself. What do I know? Only my own opinion. So with that.... I ordered to-go - the butter and sugar crepe, the crepe with walnuts & honey, and a cafe latte. They were, as I said, just okay. I can't talk about crepes without saying that it feels like a crepe-bomb went off here in SoCal for years now. In that crepes are everywhere! It's a crepe frenzy out here! As with many things that blowup and catch on, things suffer, go missing from them, and without sounding pompous... the art's gone out of the crepe all together in this city. Undercooked for the most part and touched by our Americanisms launched like shrapnel exploding on to these crepe's. They are oozing, stuffed, and dropped all over the top of the crepe is SUGAR, and some SUGAR, AND then MORE and DIFFERENT forms of natural SUGAR so we can feel a lil good about ourselves eating sugar with fruit-sugar. The crepe is literally drowning and undercooked. Not just "Crave" by any means but when I ordered their honey and walnut crepe, what I rcvd' was a ton of melted chocolate (didn't order that fyi) with entire WHOLE walnuts all over the place- and somewhere underneath that.... was a very exhausted, malnutrition, ignored and over looked Crepe' that never stood a chance. The latte was GOOD though! 2 "crepes" and a latte = $47.00 US Dollars. Now I feel like the crepe: very exhausted, malnutrition, ignored and over looked. To order and receive a crepe today I guess I have to go into it knowing I don't stand a chance of getting one. I'll give Crave another chance sometime and order something else. read more

The WiFi is good. They put the password on your receipt once you've ordered something.
Is it good to study? Does it have outlets?
Yes, although can be loud at times. The second room- not main area where you order- is a good option. There are outlets in there as well as outside on the patio. Good luck.
