My son and I have been to this lovely, charming, beautiful, clean restaurant once. It has so much charm and charisma with beautiful decor all around. A full bar and a nice sized patio. Two of my friends and I visited this restaurant on Sunday, the 9th of this month. Reservations are required, but we went in around 5:20pm and the restaurant was pretty empty. When we were leaving, the crowd started coming in around 7:15pm. They also serve brunch in the mornings (only on Sat/Sun). We got a very nice welcome from their hostess and she took us to our table. We ordered their French Onion Soup, Omelette-- that came with Black Pepper, Boursin Cheese, and Boston Lettuce. We also got their famous Big Mec Burger (Wagyu Double Cheeseburger, Bordelaise Sauce with fries. I love to have salad so much with my meal, that we also shared an Endive Salad that came with: Avocado, Anchovy, Walnuts and Sherry Vinaigrette. I told my server Karena & Rachel who replaced her when she went on break, not to put Anchovy on my salad. The dressing was well balanced. For dessert, we got Chocolate Soufflé and for cocktails, Adam, the bartender made delicious, not over powering cocktails for 2 of my friends. They were: Martinez Cocktail, and Hemingway To Your Heart. Even one of their managers Sierra checked in on us along with both of our servers. Shout out to the chef and their pastry chef. Came for my bday last week- Service was great! No problems there at all . Food.... Ehhh. Definitely not the restaurant it used to be.. leeks were tough under seasoned and couldn't be cut with a knife..super stringy.. like we were having to pull them from our teeth . Pate was solid. Endive salad was just ok . My chicken dish was not good.. the Demi and wine were overly reduced and tasted burnt. The mixed greens and bread that were dumped on top were wilted and the big chunks of bread were really tough.. (like we couldn't chew them tough) and stale tasting... had to take it all off and put it on a side plate to be taken away. My husband's mussels were flavorless. My son had the burger which he always gets and it was still the same and good. The best part of meal was dessert ( banana cream pie & crème brulee) Been coming here for yrs . Their bar is also really nice, if you wanted to do just drinks! Food wise, I highly recommend the tuna tartare, escargot, steak frites, and the cheese burger. We came for brunch. I recommend making reservations as this is still a busy place. We came early so I was able to score a last minute reservation but you should plan ahead - brunch is popular here. We got a lovely table outside. Coffee was good, strong and refilled often. The service was good but a little slow - again, they get busy. Everyone talks about the omelette and it IS good and also really beautiful. After a few bites though, it's a bit too much. A better idea may be to get the Omelette Petit Trois and share it for the table. It's also $29, which isn't crazy but is still a bit much for eggs. Even really pretty ones. My friend had the Croque Madame. It was also a gorgeous plate and he said it was, as expected, quite good. It was also $30. Both of these dishes come adorned with a sparsely dressed pile of lettuces. Very French, no? While the food was good, I don't know that this was worth the over $70 for brunch (with no alcohol) price tag. The service was very good and the ambiance is ok but the burger the Big Mac as they call it was totally underwhelming. It tastes great but for a 38$ burger it's minuscule. If you're coming here for the burger like we did you're better off going to Hinano Bar in Venice or The Benjamin in Hollywood or Heavy Handed. Although it was delicious there wasn't much of it and it's not worth it. Their banana cream pie on the other hand was a much better deal and totally worth it. It eased the disappointment of the burger. Petit is the obvious word here and I would stay away if coming for the burger. read more

Had a good lunch at Petit Trois recently! I made a reservation a couple days beforehand for Monday at noon and there was plenty of availability. Parking is either valet or street parking. We got lucky with a metered spot just a block away. It was a holiday so it was free. The restaurant seating is split into two sides, with a bar in the middle. There's also some outdoor patio seating, but since the patio directly faces the busy Ventura Blvd, I think it should be pretty loud with the car traffic. We had a baby in a stroller with us, so when I made the reservation I requested a table with more space around it. We were seated on the right side, where there was plenty of room between tables. In addition to the all day menu (which is available on their website), they offer some lunch specials with salads/sandwiches as well as a lunch prix-fixe menu for $44. To start, we shared the chicken liver mousse ($17). I also shared the prix-fixe menu as well as the duck confit ($36) with another person. The prix-fixe menu offers your choice of salad, entree, and dessert. We got: roasted beet salad, steak frites, chocolate mousse. I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken liver mousse. It was extremely salty and comes as a THICK layer on the toast, so there wasn't enough bread to eat with it. I ate a little bit and brought the rest home to use it as a spread. I had some the next day and it's much better when it's spread as a thin layer on toast. The prix-fixe menu was good value and comes with plenty of food between the three courses. The beets were super fresh, though I personally found the flavor a bit too tangy. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and came with a LOT of fries. And the chocolate mousse with all the crunchy chocolate chips was a great way to end the meal on a sweet note. The duck confit was probably my favorite entree of the meal though. It was very flavorful and the outside of the duck was crispy. I also really enjoyed the thin sliced potatoes that came with it, as they had soaked up all the flavors in the juice and were delicious! My other friend is vegetarian, and there wasn't a ton of options for him, unfortunately. He could choose between pasta or an omelette. He got the pistou pasta for $28, which I tried a bit of and was surprisingly tasty. I completely blanked on this since the menu didn't mention pesto, but all the ingredients listed essentially add up to pesto, so it was a simple pesto pasta. Great use of our chase sapphire dining credits! They let you split the check maximum of 8 times per table and you can split by dollar amount as well. Really enjoyed the escargot that comes with a warm fresh baguette. The steak frites was extremely tender. They let you choose between four types of dips for your fries including dijon mustard and garlic aioli. Service is quick and friendly. Upscale restaurant where you should expect to spend at least 50 dollars per person. They are popular so try to book a reservation ahead of time. We came for an early dinner while watching the World Cup. The restaurant was almost empty, so we asked if we could sit at one of the larger tables to comfortably watch the game together. We were told they were all reserved, so we ended up at a small table. Surprisingly, by the time we left, none of those tables had been used. Probably the most abhorrent service I've gotten in a while. The food helped it get 2 stars. I had a reservation for 2. Easily found street parking (because it was a holiday). Restaurant seems well decorated. We were sat almost immediately, great. We were sat in a corner table. Hostess said they would bring us water. No water. Our server Gabe comes. Gets our drink orders and says he will bring us water. No water. We sat for 15 minutes with no water and no one to take our food order. After the 15 min mark our server finally comes to take our order. We did the lunch prefixe menu for $44. I chose the: Boston Lettuce - all right. Nothing special. Seems kind of sad. Drenched in the dressing. Trout Almondine - good! Loved the almonds. Green beans were whatever. I felt a bit oily but I suppose that's how it is supposed to be. It was actually quite filling Choux chantilly - good. Not something I'd get again but it was light. I didn't eat all the cream. That was a bit much. The cookie part was the perfect texture. Alternatively, my husband got the: Steak Frites - he said it was good but so little meat. A LOT of fries to make up for the lack of protein so that was disappointing for him. I tried the fries. Lightly salted. Not bad. Chocolate mousse - OMG THIS IS SO GOOD. AMAZING. would come back for this. It's crunchy, and they weren't stingy with the crunch. Not overly sweet, but sweet. So, so soft and creamy. Other items I tried: Vanilla latte - good. They even gave a cube of sugar if you needed it sweeter Fleur & Tonic - I really enjoyed this. Was it worth $15? No. If it was cheaper, I'd get it again. Good if you want a refreshing drink. Lunch should take 40 min. An hour if you're chit chatting with friends. We stayed an overwhelming 1 hr 20 minutes and that's because we tried to rush at the end. After we got our salads, we yet again sat there a while with nothing to do. They took our empty water bottle and said they would bring more. It didn't come. I finished my coffee. When the main course arrived, exactly 50 minutes from when we first sat down, I immediately asked for the dessert. And water. When the dessert came, I ordered another drink. When the drinks came, I asked for the check. I had to keep asking because it was taking too long to get any service. I was very tempted to wave my arms around to call someone over, but I also noticed the servers all seem to look down at the tables/plates and not the people themselves. So overall, we got out after 1 hr 20 min because we rushed it. That was ridiculous. Would not return. I think maybe just our waiter was bad? I noticed the bus boys were quite fast and efficient at cleaning up. I saw another waiter interacting and checking up on his tables quite often. So very disappointing... Brought my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner, and I'm genuinely disappointed. Reminded me why I leave reviews. Currently up at 5am with stomach discomfort from this meal. Let's start with the food: Appetizers: French Onion Soup - 2/10 (GF rating 7/10) I've had this before and didn't care for it--tastes like watery broth with onion, soggy croutons, and cheese. While I can't fully say the value was there given the prices, we enjoyed our brunch. Portions were decently sized, and none of us finished our dishes. We had: * Steak frites: This was good overall, fries were nice, crispy, and salty * Hash brown chilaquiles: Loved this take on chilaquiles - note this is on the spicier side, but not overwhelmingly spicy * French toast: This was good; I wish the outside was a bit "crispier", but it was good overall, and I like they served the sauce on the side for you to add as much or as little as you like * Smoked salmon tartine: This was good, but nothing too special (though my son really enjoyed it) There is plenty of metered street parking during the time we went. I've been here a few times and I enjoy this spot! The iced vanilla coffee was really good. I looove their omelette and the salad that comes with it is so simple yet so good. It's a cute restaurant. I tried the madame croque a long time ago and thought it was great. I recently came back for the dinner menu. I thought they had one of the best baguettes I've had in LA. My favourite here was the crab mousseline. I really liked their French fries too. wished the escargots had more flavour. The burger was good but the sauce was pretty heavy. I liked my curry branzino and it was perfectly cooked however the curry sauce was on the oilier side. Though we didn't order the desserts here, they did look good. We love this place. This is our second time here, and we are just blown away by the delicious food! This time, we got a smattering of items and shared it family style. We got the Leeks, Hamachi Crudo, the Endive Salad, and the 8 oz flank steak. All were absolutely delicious but the stand out dish of the night was the LEEKS! I recommend if they are showcasing different tasting items or "snacks" (you'll see this to the side of the menu), give them a try. The leeks were phenomenal (see picture). They were so tender and the flavor was incredible, fresh and also buttery at the same time. Must try! Although it may be only temporarily on the menu. Their cocktails were delicious as well--we got the pear cocktail and the house Old Fashioned. Very well balanced. For dessert we got the chocolate soufle, but sadly we were disappointed in this. Had a dining credit to burn before the end of the year and figured why not (finally) give Petit Trois' famous Big Mec a try. A couple years ago, we went to Chez Maggy in Denver and learned from our server that Petit Trois in LA is also Chef Ludo's restaurant. While many of the menu items are the same, the price difference between Chez Maggy and Petit Trois is crazy to witness. $18 for French onion soup vs $25 in LA. I mean honestly $25 for this soup is just plain ridiculous. We ordered: - Bread & butter: was pleasantly surprised by a crispy, crusty but not hard baguette and rich delicious French butter - Belgian Endive Salad: reminiscent of a Caesar with kind of an anchovy tapenade/pesto (idk what you call it) underneath--endive was crunchy and so refreshing in a light sherry vinaigrette, a perfect balance to the richness of everything else - Steak Frites: the bavette was cooked well but there was way too much bearnaise on top - Big Mec: huge, rich burger and the chopped steak patty had a very interesting texture, and delicious with the bordelaise sauce - Banana Cream Pie: yummy pie crust and a pleasantly but not too sweet banana cream and sliced fresh bananas Place was pretty packed on a Saturday evening and has a nice French bistro vibe. Great authentic feeling French bistro with beautiful food. The food is so delicious that it made up for the mediocre cocktails. We had the Petit Trois Martini and the house Old Fashioned. Both were quite sweet for our taste. But the food...The FOOD is incredible. Had the butter lettuce salad (yummiest dressing ever) steak frites and duck confit. Chocolate soufflé for dessert. At first I was dubious about the Vegan gelato, but then I understood it would've been too rich with full fat regular ice cream. Everything was so flavorful, perfectly cooked and balanced. Obviously Ludo Lefevre knows what he's doing. My only note is that the bar should be up to the same level as the food. My family and I came here for lunch. They have children options: cheeseburger, butter pasta, and an omelet with frites. We tried some cocktails: the PEAR and the FLEUR DU MAL SPRITZ. Both were good. The Fleur du Mail Spritz was really tasty. I would recommend trying it if you like jasmine flavors. My hubs and I both got the price fix that runs about $44. I ordered Boston lettuce, the trout almondine and the choux chantilly. Every was delicious. The trout was a little small in size but cooked to perfection. A nice crispy char and seasoned nicely. My husband ordered the roasted beets salad that he really enjoyed that. The steak frites were okay and the chocolate mousse wasn't too sweet. Overall, service was friendly and attentive. I would return here in the future should I happen to be in the area. read more

So, so good from start to finish. Warm, welcoming greeting when we arrived for our lunch reservation on a Tuesday afternoon. The menu had a very value-forward prix fixe lunch ($44, three courses), which I would totally have preferred if there weren't specific things I wanted to try. There's also a lunch menu served until 4pm. See photos. We started with a baguette ($10, pretty good) and the Pâté du Campagne ($18, spectacular). And, ohhhhh, the Breakfast Radish ($18) with fromage blanc etc. was heaven. Then the Duck Confit ($36, good) and the lunch menu item Jamon Buerre ($28, Parisian ham with - traditionally, good French butter; in this case, honey butter - and cornichon on baguette). My partner did not enjoy their interpretation of this traditional French sandwich as he found the honey butter too sweet and an inadmissible take on the classic. I wasn't crazy about the baguette and, while I concede the point, the honey butter didn't really both me. We both loved the frites (French fries). Would I return? Absolutely. The room is gorgeous and the vibe is relaxed and yet tastefully elegant. read more

Hands-downnnn one of my favorite all-time restaurants!! I'm always finding my way back here, literally anything you get is delicious, but highly recommend the Big Mec burger!! It comes drenched in sauce, I've never had anything like it! Great burger but I am sooooo glad I got the sauces on the side because I didn't like the sauce it came with but the wagyu burger was fire by itself. Does not that sauce I promise you. Get some hot sauce if anything. The hash brown dish we got was also amazing it had habanero sauce on and under it. Delicious! Fast service as well. read more

Absolutely loved it! I ordered the escargot which was perfectly flavored and served. The bread and butter than came with it was also delicious. I ordered the trout almandine which was perfectly flavored and cooked. The dessert was a napoleon which ended the night perfectly. The restaurant itself was really pleasurable and comfortable. I am not the first Yelper to extol the virtues of the Croque Madame at Petit Trois -- in fact, I'm probably not even the one-thousandth -- but I will add my voice nonetheless. It is a decadent lunch for sure, the thickness of the bread making it seem almost like a double-decker, though it's not. And some might bemoan that it is served with salad rather than frites, but trust me: frites would be a bridge too far. Built on fresh-baked bread, with flavorful French Ham, melted Gruyère Cheese and a thick Mornay Sauce, the sandwich is a robust and filling midday meal. Topped with a perfectly cooked sunny side-up egg (the addition of which is what transforms a monsieur into a madame), the sandwich ticks every box as an indulgent and satisfying treat only the French know how to divine out of such relatively commonplace ingredients. As to the aforementioned "missing frites" -- well -- there are many places around town that do serve a side of frites with their croques, but none are quite so inherently rich; here, the salad's lemony dressing, and the brininess of a few attendant gherkins, provide a much needed acidic contrast that allows you to enjoy the sandwich without feeling overwhelmed. Service, as always, is friendly and impeccable, and the bright, well-appointed dining room provides the perfect backdrop for a Friday, cheat-day lunch. read more

The ambience is very nice--elegant and polished. Service was also solid and attentive throughout. The food, however, was pretty underwhelming overall. The beef tartare stood out as the highlight and was genuinely good, but the steak didn't live up to expectations--it was overcooked and lacked flavor, which was disappointing for a place like this. So I'm trying to try as many new things as possible. This place was on my bucket list. I would drive by and say I need to try this place when I have plenty of time. Well, today I stopped to try it. Great music, lovely decorations and the vibe is overall very relaxed and nice. I only tried one dish because I was told that I had to decide and order everything upfront (not appealing and I think overly strict but whatever). It was perfectly good. Not great but solid. Service was fine but not particularly friendly. Prices are a bit much and they could expand a bit on the offerings.. but pretty, pretty, pretty good! read more

This wasn't my first time at Petit Trois, but it was my first time at Petit Trois not ordering that massive and insanely good and messy burger Came here for a work lunch and enjoyed a nice lunch of a Boston Lettuce salad, steak frites, tuna tartare, and chocolate mousse. It was busy, per usual, but service was still very good in bringing out our meals in a timely fashion. Like the great poet iggy azalea once said, "I'm so Fancy, you already know..." Decided to take him out for one more birthday dinner before we head east! I had never been here before but it's the place he most talks about. Petit Trois Le Valley 9.22.2025 ~ 7:30 pm I made a reservation to take him out to dinner for his birthday. We started with a glass of sparkling Rosè and a baguette with some of the best butter I've had in the United States! He ordered the Filet Aux Poivres (8oz) I had the steak frites. Both were great. On the peppery side but delicious. The fries were so good. From start to finish this place was great. When we sat down one of our favorite songs we saw live last year came across the speakers. Right place right time. Loved this dinner. Thanks for this night! And thank you to our fantastic server Karenna, you were great!
