    Big Mec

Dined in on a busy night and got seated within 25-30 mins. Service was decent. Our server was attentive but I could tell she was overwhelmed. She was awesome nonetheless. Interior was very Parisian and quaint. Also, please note. This is a small restaurant and not stroller friendly. Let's talk about the food! Big Mec: 8.5 out of 10 I asked for well done and the meat was still a bit pink. But overall, i enjoyed it. I personally think this was meant to be shared lol this was so filling. The borderlaise was very rich and made the entire meal. Perfectly seasoned! I'd order this again Omelette petit trois 7 out of 10 I love how fluffy the egg was! This was a good simple dish which I thought was perfectly paired with the lettuce. It was a good balance of texture and flavor. Filet au poivres 8.5 out of 10 This wasn't my dish, but my friend really enjoyed it. She said the filet was very tender and the sauce wasn't overpowering, which allowed the steak flavor to shine through. She did mention it would've paired nicely with a roasted vegetable, but overall she really liked it. Napoleon 6.5 out of 10 The Napoleon was delicious. The Tahitian vanilla pastry cream was rich and smooth, layered between light, flaky puff pastry. The bruleed top added a perfect caramelized crunch that balanced the creaminess really well. Overall, it was too sweet for my liking, but not too heavy, and a must try.

    Boston Lettuce - nothing special

Probably the most abhorrent service I've gotten in a while. The food helped it get 2 stars. I had a reservation for 2. Easily found street parking (because it was a holiday). Restaurant seems well decorated. We were sat almost immediately, great. We were sat in a corner table. Hostess said they would bring us water. No water. Our server Gabe comes. Gets our drink orders and says he will bring us water. No water. We sat for 15 minutes with no water and no one to take our food order. After the 15 min mark our server finally comes to take our order. We did the lunch prefixe menu for $44. I chose the: Boston Lettuce - all right. Nothing special. Seems kind of sad. Drenched in the dressing. Trout Almondine - good! Loved the almonds. Green beans were whatever. I felt a bit oily but I suppose that's how it is supposed to be. It was actually quite filling Choux chantilly - good. Not something I'd get again but it was light. I didn't eat all the cream. That was a bit much. The cookie part was the perfect texture. Alternatively, my husband got the: Steak Frites - he said it was good but so little meat. A LOT of fries to make up for the lack of protein so that was disappointing for him. I tried the fries. Lightly salted. Not bad. Chocolate mousse - OMG THIS IS SO GOOD. AMAZING. would come back for this. It's crunchy, and they weren't stingy with the crunch. Not overly sweet, but sweet. So, so soft and creamy. Other items I tried: Vanilla latte - good. They even gave a cube of sugar if you needed it sweeter Fleur & Tonic - I really enjoyed this. Was it worth $15? No. If it was cheaper, I'd get it again. Good if you want a refreshing drink. Lunch should take 40 min. An hour if you're chit chatting with friends. We stayed an overwhelming 1 hr 20 minutes and that's because we tried to rush at the end. After we got our salads, we yet again sat there a while with nothing to do. They took our empty water bottle and said they would bring more. It didn't come. I finished my coffee. When the main course arrived, exactly 50 minutes from when we first sat down, I immediately asked for the dessert. And water. When the dessert came, I ordered another drink. When the drinks came, I asked for the check. I had to keep asking because it was taking too long to get any service. I was very tempted to wave my arms around to call someone over, but I also noticed the servers all seem to look down at the tables/plates and not the people themselves. So overall, we got out after 1 hr 20 min because we rushed it. That was ridiculous. Would not return. I think maybe just our waiter was bad? I noticed the bus boys were quite fast and efficient at cleaning up. I saw another waiter interacting and checking up on his tables quite often. I don't know how they separate tables but the experience was definitely terrible.

I've been here a few times and I enjoy this spot! The iced vanilla coffee was really good. I looove their omelette and the salad that comes with it is so simple yet so good. The pancake was a miss for us because it was very salty and didn't taste good but the waitress was kind enough to send it back and bring us the waffle which was much better! The croque madam was good as well just heavy and the burger is good too! The banana cream pie was the perfect dessert to end off brunch. Would come back.

So very disappointing... Brought my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner, and I'm genuinely disappointed. Reminded me why I leave reviews. Currently up at 5am with stomach discomfort from this meal. Let's start with the food: Appetizers: French Onion Soup - 2/10 (GF rating 7/10) I've had this before and didn't care for it--tastes like watery broth with onion, soggy croutons, and cheese. For ~$25, not worth it. Girlfriend thought it was one of the better ones she's had, mainly for texture. Escargot - 2/10 (GF rating 4/10) Not my thing, but the sauce was weak. I've had better at Le Bouchon in Chicago. Baguette was fine but underwhelming. Girlfriend said it was okay, biggest escargot she's had, but also lacking flavor. Serving in shells was nice. Crab cake - 1/10 (GF rating 1/10) Just bad. Rubbery texture, hard to cut, not the usual flaky crab cake. Inside lacked flavor. Sauce was good, dill helped slightly. For ~$28 for one, avoid completely. Mains: Steak frites - 2.5/10 (GF rating 3/10) Cooked medium. Meat quality was bad--very chewy. Ate one piece. GF didn't like it either. Sauce was herby and buttery but underwhelming. Fries were good, large portion, no proper sauce pairing. Big Mec 4/10 (GF rating: 2/10) Basically a burger with homemade A1 sauce. Not asked for temp; came medium, which doesn't work for thin patties. Chewy and forgettable. Wouldn't improve much even cooked better. Sauce was decent for fries (which were good). GF said it tasted like A1. Better off getting a Big Mac from McDonalds and saving money. Dessert (WOW, IN A GOOD WAY) Chocolate soufflé - 7.5/10 (GF rating 10/10) Really good. GF would come back just for this. Great crust, gelato, and chocolate sauce. Slightly spongey inside for me, but still very good. Crème Brûlée - 8.5/10 (GF rating 6/10) Excellent. Crunchy top, very creamy base. GF just doesn't like this dessert in general. Highly recommend. BIRTHDAY COOKIES - 6.5/10 It was my gfs birthday and we were charged $6 for cookies we didn't order. Decent cookies, slightly salty. Charging for this is ridiculous--should be complimentary, especially after ~$250+. Service - 7/10 Started slow, waited a while to order while others were checked on first. After ordering, service improved a lot: attentive, refills, clearing dishes, friendly staff. Ambiance Quaint, not loud, small seating area. Easy to talk. Outdoor seating available but near a busy road. Price Overpriced. Apps ~$26, mains ~$42, drinks expensive. Bill was ~$260 before tip. Would not come back unless just for dessert.

So, so good from start to finish. Warm, welcoming greeting when we arrived for our lunch reservation on a Tuesday afternoon. The menu had a very value-forward prix fixe lunch ($44, three courses), which I would totally have preferred if there weren't specific things I wanted to try. There's also a lunch menu served until 4pm. See photos. We started with a baguette ($10, pretty good) and the Pâté du Campagne ($18, spectacular). And, ohhhhh, the Breakfast Radish ($18) with fromage blanc etc. was heaven. Then the Duck Confit ($36, good) and the lunch menu item Jamon Buerre ($28, Parisian ham with - traditionally, good French butter; in this case, honey butter - and cornichon on baguette). My partner did not enjoy their interpretation of this traditional French sandwich as he found the honey butter too sweet and an inadmissible take on the classic. I wasn't crazy about the baguette and, while I concede the point, the honey butter didn't really both me. We both loved the frites (French fries). Would I return? Absolutely. The room is gorgeous and the vibe is relaxed and yet tastefully elegant.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and my first time at this restaurant. Our server, Victor was lovely to have- he gave us a brief introduction of the menu and some popular recommendations. Apps: Crab Cake ($28)- one portion but shareable and tasty Burgundy Escargots ($28) - very tasty, came w/ fresh baguette perfect to dip in the garlic butter Boston Lettuce ($17) - classic butter lettuce with mustard dressing Entrees: Trout Almondine ($42) - fish was lovely, still had a good amount of oil on the plate when my mom requested to have it made w/ less oil Steak Frites ($43) & side of au poivre sauce ($4) - steak was cooked perfectly, but a bit heavy on the salt for the fries Chicken Cordon Bleu ($38) - chicken was flavorful w/ the ham & cheese; my family felt that the mashed potatoes that it came w/ tasted ok Desserts: Complimentary cookies for my birthday! Creme Brulee ($16) - standard dish; would be nice to see a fruit garnish though I felt that the overall dining experience was good, would be nice have the server crumb the table before dessert service. Please bring back the Profiteroles on the dessert menu; I was looking forward to trying that but got disappointed to hear that the chef removed it.

TL; DR Service was fantastic and attentive, restaurant ambiance and decor were great, food was decent, but not out of this world. While I can't fully say the value was there given the prices, we enjoyed our brunch. Portions were decently sized, and none of us finished our dishes. We had: * Steak frites: This was good overall, fries were nice, crispy, and salty * Hash brown chilaquiles: Loved this take on chilaquiles - note this is on the spicier side, but not overwhelmingly spicy * French toast: This was good; I wish the outside was a bit "crispier", but it was good overall, and I like they served the sauce on the side for you to add as much or as little as you like * Smoked salmon tartine: This was good, but nothing too special (though my son really enjoyed it) There is plenty of metered street parking during the time we went. After we left, we noticed they started valet parking services (this was on a Saturday). It seems like a good spot for ambiance and to hang out in both a large or small group. I don't know how much you're rushed when it's busy, but we were not rushed at all as they had plenty of open seating. I wouldn't go if you are solely focused on the food.

Visited this place for a brunch with friends one saturday. Street parking is a struggle, so carpooling is recommended. Our server was so-so, didn't checked on us after serving our food since It was a busy day. Wide selection of french pastries and worth to try. cozy ambience, not too crowded and noisy. I'll give it three stars for the not so convenient parking and our server was not attentive.

My partner and I came with the Red Dining Book, reservations were straightforward! The ambience of this restaurant is clean and romantic. Everything was delicious here from the appetizers to the desserts, but I'm still thinking about the escargot and the endives salad. They were seriously spectacular and unique.

We love this place. This is our second time here, and we are just blown away by the delicious food! This time, we got a smattering of items and shared it family style. We got the Leeks, Hamachi Crudo, the Endive Salad, and the 8 oz flank steak. All were absolutely delicious but the stand out dish of the night was the LEEKS! I recommend if they are showcasing different tasting items or "snacks" (you'll see this to the side of the menu), give them a try. The leeks were phenomenal (see picture). They were so tender and the flavor was incredible, fresh and also buttery at the same time. Must try! Although it may be only temporarily on the menu. Their cocktails were delicious as well--we got the pear cocktail and the house Old Fashioned. Very well balanced. For dessert we got the chocolate soufle, but sadly we were disappointed in this. It looked so delicious but it tasted a tad bit bitter and not sweet enough. We wouldn't order it again, but we have confidence their other desserts are very delightful. Overall, great date night or special occasion dinner out. Deliciously yummy food!

I arrived on a busy Saturday evening with a reservation for 3, hungry and excited to try his place only to find my reservation was actually for Sunday evening! The line behind us for check in started to grow as well as my disappointment... Thankfully, the hostess was able to move things around and get my party seated at the bar, which was also pretty busy, thank you btw!. We sat, enjoyed the ambiance, and chatted with the very friendly bar staff. Our food came out however, my mussels were taking awhile, we find out that they were mistakenly given to another party. They apologized and comped the mussels which was very nice of them and gave me an extra glass of wine as I waited, super appreciated the attentiveness by checking in with me . The food was very good and the service was hands down amazing. Thank you again for the great customer service, amazing food, and a great night overall. The picture was of my friends dish, which was the trout, super good! I didn't get a picture of the mussels because I ate them all. =]

Had a dining credit to burn before the end of the year and figured why not (finally) give Petit Trois' famous Big Mec a try. A couple years ago, we went to Chez Maggy in Denver and learned from our server that Petit Trois in LA is also Chef Ludo's restaurant. While many of the menu items are the same, the price difference between Chez Maggy and Petit Trois is crazy to witness. $18 for French onion soup vs $25 in LA. I mean honestly $25 for this soup is just plain ridiculous. We ordered: - Bread & butter: was pleasantly surprised by a crispy, crusty but not hard baguette and rich delicious French butter - Belgian Endive Salad: reminiscent of a Caesar with kind of an anchovy tapenade/pesto (idk what you call it) underneath--endive was crunchy and so refreshing in a light sherry vinaigrette, a perfect balance to the richness of everything else - Steak Frites: the bavette was cooked well but there was way too much bearnaise on top - Big Mec: huge, rich burger and the chopped steak patty had a very interesting texture, and delicious with the bordelaise sauce - Banana Cream Pie: yummy pie crust and a pleasantly but not too sweet banana cream and sliced fresh bananas Place was pretty packed on a Saturday evening and has a nice French bistro vibe. The smell of browned butter was STRONG. Service was friendly and good, no complaints. Free street parking available around the block.

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Value: 3/5 Parking sucks around here as usual. We reserved for 7:30pm arrived early at 7 and still had to wait until 7:30 so reservations is a must. Ordered French onion soup, steak frites and duck confit. Steak was very tender and marinated well, it was 5/5. French onion was ok and duck confit portion could be bigger for the price and need to be more tender. Ambiance and setting similar to Bouillon at Paris.

We tried a yellowfin tartare which was great. I got the pasta which was very good, and my wife got the salmon. Salmon was fresh and great, but the broccolini side was ridiculously salty. Service was very good, but my wife wanted the tartare as an entrée and our server, who was honestly lovely, suggested it wasn't large enough for an entrée. Problem was, it was a pretty substantial portion and my wife would have appreciated it as a main. I loved getting to share the tuna, but if she'd have just ordered that, and not added the salmon, I think we both would've appreciated the experience more. A very good wine list, with some really nice wines by the glass - You don't see that often enough - and limited, but interesting beer. Ample parking, 90 minutes free.

It's easy to get lost but it's easy to find after you read the sign and pass Madewell. It was a girls night out experience and we had fun on a Saturday evening. For food I ordered the bread and butter that was Shareable and the tuna ahi with chips that was 3/5. It could have been more flavorful. The bread and butter was 5/5 though. Very hot and soft. For the wine I had the Grenache and sparkling rose that was very good!!! My fav two selections. I highly suggest !! The service was really good and pretty fast! We had Yesi as our server and she was very attentive and good personality!! I would like to have her again!! The ambiance is cute and nice surrounded by beautiful plants you can purchase. I will try Cosette again! The parking was expensive in the lot! They only give 90 min free parking after it's a few every hour or min. I had to pay $20, so just FYI.

The service was absolutely on pointe thanks to Kaiya, Teri, and Randy. Warm, polished, attentive, and just the right amount of fun. Hubs and I split everything, which was the right move because this meal was rich, delicious, and very filling. We started with the baguette bread service, which is an additional charge but 100% worth it. The bread, salted butter, and mixed berry spread were pure France in a basket. Next up was the French onion soup, and wow. Cheesy, full of flavor, with a beautiful broth that somehow managed to be rich without being too salty. Perfection. Then came the Big Mec burger, as seen on Food Network's top burgers -- and yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. Definitely enough for two. Perfectly seasoned patties, melty cheese, a fresh brioche bun, and that bordelaise sauce bath underneath? Flavor-forward, decadent, and unforgettable. We rounded out the meal with a slice of French toast because apparently we make excellent life choices. Also delicious, also worth sharing. This was not just lunch -- it was an experience. Will I go back? Absolument! Next up: dinner.

Got seated on the patio on a beautiful day, so we were perfectly happy. After a quick glance at the menu, our recommendations from our server, we decided to order. We started with the escargot, as one does at a French restaurant, and the French onion soup. The escargot cube bathed in butter, garlic and parsley and were very tasty. I mean, how can they not be when bathed in garlic and butter? The French onion soup was also delicious with ample gruyere cheese overflowing. Pure indulgence! For entrees, we all tried something different. The steak frites were.... steak frites. If you've tried one, you've tried most, so not very memorable. The duck confit was cooked well and not overly fatty, which was nice. The omelette, let me say, is beautiful to look at. You almost don't want to touch it because it is very picrure-esque, and absolutely cooked perfectly. A, dare I say, perfect omelette. Finally was the Big Mec. Now, there are a lot of good burgers in Los Angeles, but the Big Mec is one of the greats. So much flavor with the double wagyu patties, cheese, special sauce all while sitting in a Bordelaise sauce. It isn't something you would eat every day, as it is heavy, but it is phenomenal when you do. I'd say one of the top five burgers in Los Angeles, in my humble opinion. Overall, delicious French restaurant in Hollywood, a little above Hancock Park, serving delicious food. Get the escargot and French onion soup to start, and definitely get the omelette and the Big Mec, you will not be disappointed.

I made a reservation for Easter Brunch through OpenTable for me and my son. We got there about five minutes before our reservation at noon and the hostess told us to wait outside until they were open. Not a problem. HOWEVER, she never came back out to get us once they were open which was my first red flag because she left us waiting about 10 minutes past our reservation time. I go back inside to ask if we were going to be seated for our reservation and she asks under what name...mind you I was there before opening so she already had my name and time for reservation before no one else was there yet. The food itself was great but our service was absolutely terrible. We weren't checked on throughout the meal (again the restaurant was NOT crowded) and after completing our meal I realized the hostess deleted my reservation. For those who use OpenTable you know you get points for every completed reservation. I reached out privately to management first about my overall experience to hopefully rectify the issue. I wasn't looking for any incentives but that they at least train their wait staff better and resubmit my reservation in the system so I could both redeem my points and leave a review. It never happened. In an economy where everything is expensive just stepping outside I really value good service as well as good food. If the food is great but service is terrible I will never go back and this is that spot. Discrimination shows up in different ways and I will not patronize a business who blatantly does not show all of their customers the same level of respect and service. Posted pictures so you know I'm not a hater...food was great. Service was absolutely not it lol.

The setup is fast-casual style, where you order at the bar and then find a seat. The staff was excellent throughout the visit. They were patient, took the time to answer questions, and did a great job explaining the different wine options. They also let us sample a few wines before deciding, which I always appreciate. I ended up ordering the Rosso Veronese. It was dry overall but had a touch more sweetness than I expected, which made it easy to drink given I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. We also benefited from a special on the wine because it had been featured at an event the previous day. The space itself was comfortable and inviting. We grabbed a spot on one of the couches, which gave the evening a more relaxed feel compared to a typical wine bar setup. Pricing is about what you'd expect for a wine-focused spot. It's not inexpensive, but it didn't feel unreasonable either, especially considering the service and atmosphere. Between the knowledgeable staff, the opportunity to sample wines, and the comfortable setting, I'd happily come back and try a few more selections.

They have great bottles, but very short pours, and the hospitality that makes a good place great just wasn't on display. Food was good, but service was lacking, and at the price point was not of value to us.

She chose this place for the Instagram worthy atmosphere you see online, but I would say it falls a little short of how picturesque it is. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice garden setup up, but we were expecting a more romantic and whimsical layout. We also noticed that the dress code is very loosely enforced as there were numerous people there with T shirts on. We got there for our reservation about 15 minutes early and was seated quite fast. The hostesses at the front were quite friendly and the wait staff were attentive and mostly nice. One of our servers seemed a little curt at one point, but it wasn't too bad. Once you are seated they ask about your drink order, and offered wines, sparkling water, and literally said "tap water". Pretty surprised that they said tap water, but we went with a glass of wine and sparkling water. The menu is short and it's easy to make your decision. We went with the 24oz Prime Ribeye Steak, Pappardelle pasta, Kingfish Crudo, and the Portuguese Piri Piri Shrimp. The ribeye was served with scalloped potatoes and green beans that were delicious. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare, tender, and served in a very balanced sauce. The Piri Piri Shrimp was also great. Large pieces in a slightly spicy cream sauce; I would describe it as almost a Cajun flavor. These were my favorites of the dishes we ordered on this night. The Kingfish Crudo was a nice choice. I believe it was yellowtail served with small pieces of cherry tomatoes and peach chunks. The sauce was nice and refreshing with a little sweetness. The Pappardelle Pasta was ok, and probably my least favorite dish of the night. It wasn't bad, but wasn't on par with the rest of our meal. The thick pasta noodles were al dente, and the sauce was nice and creamy with pieces of green beans. It got better once we mixed the poached egg into the sauce, but still didn't get it to the point where we would order it again. Since it was my fiancé's birthday, she wanted to get one of their desserts served as a small birthday. She saw pictures of their passion fruit coconut cheesecake on Instagram and wanted that, but they changed it where the passion fruit was at the bottom of the cake. I thought it was decent, but not a great dessert. I thought the staff would at least sing happy birthday like other restaurants, but that didn't happen here. Overall, The Little Door is a small romantic stop to have a date night. I don't know if I would consider it a place to celebrate a special occasion though. I think we would come back, but not for anything big. Also, I would recommend using the valet, it's right in front and they only charge $14 pre tip.

I love a skin contact wine so I'm biased but everyone should try them. We also did glasses of the chenin blanc and the carmenere. The chenin blanc was probably my favorite I've had of the many I've tried and the carmenere was super unique. The service was fantastic (shoutout to Isabella) who was helpful and nice. Outside was a better temp and ambiance so we elected for that . I was expecting wood fired pizza, but they didn't have it unfortunately :( Not a lot of food options here, more of a casual place for a glass of wine.. so we got wine and charcuterie and left instead of dinner as planned. The cheese board was honestly depressing, with the bread being the best thing on there. I wish there was more cheese .. It was a cute place, but I felt a bit bamboozled . We were sat next to a bush , basically directly next to another couple, which felt like we were in their conversation. My car got trapped in with the parked when we were ready to leave. Service was mid , not very personable . Not sure I'll be back for dinner , maybe if they got some better food options. But cute for a glass of wine if you are local.
