Luna Grill falls somewhere between the notion of Fast Casual and Not-So-Fast Casual (they take 15-20 minutes to cook your food) with a slightly upmarket dining room of polished wooden tables and nice music playing, though you order at the counter and the menu gleams from lighted boards above. The small selection of Mediterranean food leans heavily on chicken and other kabob meats served as plates, salads, bowls or sandwiches, with a number of sauces available. It's all a tad pricey, but so is everything nowadays, so it really comes down to whether the food is good, and, at least to me, Luna Grill doesn't really keep its promise. Now, to be sure, it all looks fresh and nicely charred; the proteins are prettily plated with sides of your choice, and served on square disposable dishes that look like something your mom might put out for a backyard graduation party. But when it comes to the actual food, it's very basic, and wholly unmemorable. I ordered the Gyro Pita sandwich, and that comes dressed with lettuce, tomato, diced pepperoncini for some kick, feta cheese and tsatsiki sauce. It arrived looking great, however the Gyro meat was cold, dry and rubbery, so I returned it. The 2nd version came looking just the same, and this time the meat inside was warmer and juicier, though it didn't have very much flavor. With a little spicy Harissa dabbed here and there, things improved a bit, but there are quite a few places locally serving far better versions of a Gyro sandwich. My wife ordered the Chicken Kabob Plate, served with rice and hummus, as well as pita triangles for dipping. Hers came out hot and juicy, but, again, I personally found the chicken to be far blander than you'll get at many other places where the kabobs are much more interestingly seasoned. Apologies for not having a photo of the chicken plate - I was returning my Gyro and missed the opportunity. In the end, Luna Grill doesn't really hold a candle to many of the other similar, privately owned restaurants doing the same thing. It's a chain, and the food reflects the corporate approach to homogenizing the flavors for mass consumption. If you lived in a small town and this was the only option for Mediterranean food, it would be more than passable and much appreciated -- but given the many choices we do have here, I'd say Luna Grill should just be passed. read more

This is the amount of food you get for $19.66. The flavor is good, but for almost $20 this amount of protein is honestly insulting. I ordered the Cali Pita with chopped chicken it was pretty good, It's got a little kick to it but the food tasted fresh and the pita was nice and fluffy. For the price point, I can't complain too much. I also got the Dip Trio, which came with about six pita triangles, some carrots, and three small scoops of hummus. The hummus flavors were pretty good, the one with feta was definitely my favorite but honestly, I wouldn't pay $10 for it again. It just felt a little pricey for what it was (then again, it's 2025... everything's inflated ). Service was great though Alicia, you rock! The bathrooms were super clean too, which I appreciate. The staff was so accommodating to my dietary restrictions! It's always difficult for me to find a casual restaurant that can accommodate my dietary and Allergy restrictions but these guys did it! I admit, Luna Grill is one of my favorite chain Mediterranean food casual restaurants. I've been to another location, this was my first time at this location in Sherman Oaks. I was greeted upon entering for the early dinner hours and restaurant wasn't busy at all. Ordered my food and unfortunately they were out of salmon (so disappointing) so I got a combo with shrimp and koobideh. I chose the house salad and rice for the sides and everything made fresh to order and taste as expected. Portion size is sharable (for me at least, see my pic) or come very hungry. We went to Luna Grill in Sherman Oaks on Tuesday, August 11. I normally pay cash, but they told me they no longer accept cash. I had some difficulty using my card because it did not have a chip, and in the end no tip was left. When we got back to our hotel, both orders of fries, the gyro, and the kebab were extremely salted and completely inedible. This was not normal seasoning. The amount of salt was unbelievable across several different items. Considering what happened during payment and that no tip was left, it made us seriously question whether this was intentional. I cannot say for certain, but the experience was extremely concerning. I tried calling the restaurant as soon as we discovered it, but they were already closed. Be careful.
