41. Pad Thai 4 Star

So after a long day at Universal Studios. I had to yelp a spot to see what was to eat...fortunately I found this little joint. Do not hesitate to check this place out. Great customer service. Great ambiance when entering and getting your seating.and the food, delicious. I'm definitely coming back when in Rome... Thank you Grandmas Thai Kitchen!!!!

77. Orange Chicken (side of white rice)

Today I ordered the orange chicken, white rice and mango sticky rice. The orange chicken was unfortunately not good, as if they cooked it too long, which makes it pretty dry and hard to chew. Your jaw will be tired after you're done eating one piece, it's super hard to chew. The white rice is also really hard and is no where near nice and fluffy like good white rice should be. The orange chicken and white rice are definitely 0/10, and it's unfortunate because the orange chicken looks good from the outside and has great flavor, it just extremely hard and not fun to eat. The mango sticky rice is really good though, that was the one dish I ordered that is pretty tasty, I'd recommend it for a sweet treat and would give it a 10/10. The mango was perfectly sweet and their sticky rice is really delicious.

Lunch special: brown rice, salad, spring rolls, and chicken pad Thai $10.99

The food is delicious! Definitely tastes like someone's grandma made it with love. The location is a bit easy to miss. It looks like a house, but there's enough parking in the back. The service was fast and they were very kind. The food was delicious and such a great deal in this economy. The $10.99 lunch special is an amazing deal. Food is savory and well seasoned.

Solid Thai Take out. Easy ordering on the phone. Food was ready for pickup in twenty minutes. Steamed Chicken Dumplings, Chicken with mixed vegetables, Broccoli Beef, it all tasted good. No complaints. There are a few tables inside so dine-in is an option. It's not the nicest place to eat but its there if you need it. Open until 9pm every night. Grandma knows how to do it.

This is our destroyed dinner and it was very good as you can tell

Babushka is one of those "if you know, you know" places that the Valley always seems to hide to…read morecasual passersby, just waiting to be unearthed. It may just also be my favorite deli in LA for anything vegetable/side dish. As other reviews note, the selection of prepared foods for such a small shop is staggering. I've been coming for three years now, and while I'm guilty of ordering my favorites often, I think I'd have a tough time making my way through all of the foods on offer even if I switched it up on each visit. 4 different types of meatballs (the chicken breast one is to die for), lox, cabbage rolls, at least a half dozen cooked seafood options (shout out fish in tomato sauce), stroganoff, 3-4 different types of couscous and plov....and that's only half of the non veggie section. The cakes are great (Black Forest and walnut go hard). The Russian/Ukranian chip flavors rule. There are specialty candies and jarred foods and good looking fruits and veggies. There's an off menu soup with dill and little chicken meatballs that I'd recommend to anyone ailing in a heartbeat. And then, finally, we arrive at the salads and cold veggies. Nonstop bangers. The beet salad with prunes and garlic may sound wild for non Eastern European tastes, but it's unique and addictive and works. The potato salad Olivier? Best potato salad I've ever had. My wife has recently discovered the zucchini, which looks like a bunch of unassuming diced veggies but tastes savory and complex and herby. You'd be the hero of every picnic or backyard bbq ever grabbing side dishes from here. Seriously. The kind folks who work here will let you sample too, which is helpful when there are so many options. Some places wear their culture on their sleeve, fill your stomach with the love of a home cooked meal, and remind you that diverse communities are the heartbeat of this city. Babushka's is one of them.

Babushka means "Grandma" in Russian in an especially endearing way. Babushka Grandma's Deli…read moreachieves that rare homemade style of handed-down recipes in its well-stocked deli counter of ready-to-eat meals for the whole family. "Grandma's Hands" sums up the comfort many of us associate with Grandma's cooking. The owners and employees are doing a five-star job at forwarding that kind of comfort to the community and customers here. First of all, everything is freaking deliciousness! Admire the always-on-point "People Love Us On Yelp" sign as you arrive. The free parking lot offers nice and ample parking spaces for disabled customers as well as tables upon arrival which can comfortably accommodate wheelchairs. Now don't get me wrong, I love fancy gastronomy featuring tres Nouveau French culinary techniques just like you but I absolutely ADORE borscht, stuffed cabbage and plav equally. (Even more sometimes!) I've been shopping here and picking up takeout here for a long time. My experiences have only been better over the years. The discounts can be incredible and I appreciate sale-priced groceries in today's economy as well as the opportunity to support local and international farms. Sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, low sugar and no sugar added cookies, pastries and cakes, caviar, dried fish, pickled Herring, perfectly ripe berries, smoked fish, halva, cheese spread, jams, and artisan teas, all five stars. But wait. Is it a Russian-American market where I find the most Ukrainian imported groceries and ways to support Ukrainian farming?! Yep! +Heart hands emoji+ This market does a great job of offering a nice seat and friendly conversation to the average dine-in customer. Stop by to sip on an imported pear juice. Try a bite of fresh cream cheese cake with berries. Ask for advice! Go for the Beef Plav which is an employee favorite. The Beef Plav here contains a generous amount of tender, lean beef with carrots, savory buttery rice and whole softly roasted garlic cloves. Yum! (Five stars!) I've found some especially healthy and nutritious food here for my health recovery goals recently. About six years ago, I had been exposed to high levels of radiation according to a good old fashioned Geiger counter. My health began to drastically decline and I became very weak. I could barely stand and I barely survived. I knew about a famous brave Ukrainian woman who had survived radiation exposure thanks to her unborn child. Her survival story led to me requesting female cancer screenings which led to the surgeries that saved my life. (**Confetti flying **) There's a very long list of doctors and people who have helped me survive and recover to whom I live for in gratitude. Our commitment to the people and values which help us survive the impossible compels us to rise to the occasion of coming back stronger and better than we ever could have accomplished before or alone. So I'm drinking bone broth, eating extra protein, taking vitamins. And lifting weights with steadfast determination to recover my strength and then some. (Go Navy!) No market has helped me more in this health effort than this hidden gem. (Many thanks!) I am the customer who buys ALL the boxes of pastilla. (SORRY OTHER CUSTOMERS!) Pastilla is a layered pastry made of baked apples and eggs white, no sugar and nothing else! It's a miracle of a snack! Tastes like apple cake, made of egg whites. Protein in my car after working out? Five million stars. ***** To all y'all spending big bucks on cold bone broth, consider the chilled chicken gelatin dish here. Khoolidets? -It's rich with real collagen, high in protein and perfectly balanced with firm carrots and vegetables.I love this dish! Five stars. A real life look young dish! My personal secret to looking a little younger than my age is recovering from surgeries and serious stuff through nutrition, hard work and most importantly, contributing to my community. Beat the odds. Cimb a mountain. Start a non profit. Save the world. You've got this! And. Yyou're going to look GORGEOUS while you're doing it because you're already beautiful just the way you are. If ever there's a pandemic, a zombie apocalypse, or problem, people will come to each other's aid time and time again. To offer encouragement, advice and help to achieve the impossible. Grandma's Deli Babushka is a good place to be reminded that we're in it together.:) Spaseeeba! I'm on a mission to recover improved again. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who is helping me with this mission! Cheers YELP! :)!

All about this Mendocino!…read more Mendocino Farms - Studio City has been such a great addition to the Studio City Plaza over the years. I rarely have time to sit down and enjoy a meal solo these days so I was grateful to order and enjoy lunch here . Even though Mendo has a good variety and large menu. I stick to my comforts like their Vegan Banh Mi and Potato Salad (also vegan friendly like their yummy Spicy Curried Couscous). 1/2 Sandwich Combo was pretty perfect as it includes a side. "Eat Happy with sandwiches, salads & more!" From wraps to desserts, including those awesome Plant-Based Oat Hemp Date Cookies and even kid's meals, M.F. knows how to deliver. And that they do via services like DoorDash and the rest, not to mention catering options as well. Dining areas both inside and out are pretty awesome, inviting and full of natural light. Great beverage options with self serve dispensers, including one for just water and ice. If you're lucky enough to get Parker G., my instant favorite Mendo Front of House Member, you're in great hands. Very kind, very personable and he definitely made my experience memorable. He seems to be just about everywhere when possible attending to many when he was able. Awesome service all around from everyone I saw or interacted with. Free Wi-Fi. Great vibes. Good music. Gender-neutral restrooms. Great seating, inside and out on that groovy patio that suits all types of weather (fireplace for cooler months, shades for super sunny ones). Lots of easy to follow menus both digital screens and classic style. Craft beer and wine options. Dog friendly. Family friendly And very much open to all. It's fast casual with finesse and I'm beyond impressed with this location most.

The salmon salad is my personal favorite and I order it constantly, but the avocado toast deserves its own moment. I brought a friend recently who said "avocado toast always tastes the same" -- and I told her not here. She understood immediately on her first bite. It is bursting with flavor in a way that has no business being as good as it is. I mean, it's bread, avocado, some cheese, fresh basil.... but it SINGS! The desserts are delicious, the server recommendations are genuinely solid (they actually know the menu and steer you right), and the service overall is warm and attentive. Special shoutout to Miles, who is always a joy and makes you feel genuinely welcomed every time. The space is small with both indoor and outdoor seating, but that's part of the charm -- it feels less like a restaurant and more like going over to a friend's house for dinner. They take real care of you here, attentive, superior, friendly service. If you haven't been, go. And when you get there, order the avocado toast -- even if you think you've had good avocado toast before. You haven't had this one. But seriously, anything you order will be great! Easy street parking and during the day for lunch they have a valet just next to Voyage et Cie (shop next door) that's reasonably priced.

Walked in on the 29th of last month with a former coworker at 5:20pm, and was nicely greeted by Irvin and Kelcey. Since it was a bit crowded inside, we both decided to sit outside. It has a cute vibe to it. Both inside and outside. Place was clean, except their gender neutral restroom, which is outside. In a way it's good. The trash was full. They have a huge, extensive menu with options from sandwiches, to soups, desserts, cold and hot beverages, known for their Panini sandwiches. They also have salads, appetizers, pizza, and pastas. Organic and gluten free options too. Also vegan friendly. I wish that they can add some seafood on their menu. They only have fish. Kelcey gave us an excellent, exceptional service. In every way. She needs a raise and a promotion at the same time. We both got different dishes and shared. Let me not forget to say that the water that they brought along with a refill, tasted like medicine. It was weird and strange at the same time. Even with a slice of lemon inside. Not good. Food came out pretty quickly and our Beet & Arugula Salad took the cake. It was that good! It had red beets, oranges, cranberries, candied pecans, (told her no pecans), goat cheese tossed in an orange Vinaigrette dressing. She even brought extra dressing, but the salad had enough dressing already. We also got their heart shaped Turkey Panini sandwich that was out of this world. The Baguette was nicely toasted and came with avocado, sun dried tomatoes, Provolone cheese, & Basil garlic sauce. Very fresh and delicious. Last but not least, we got their Penne Milano pasta that came with grilled chicken breast, fresh basil, (minus pine nuts), chopped Roma tomatoes, Kalamata olives, & roasted red peppers in a spicy pink Alfredo sauce. Let me not forget that we got a nice basket of complimentary bread which was old/stale, that almost broke two of my teeth, and had 3 butters. We also got Torchi (pickled veggies). Cauliflower and Carrots. The sauce for the pasta was a bit too spicy for our liking. It did say spicy on the menu, but it was too much. The pasta was lukewarm, but the rest were fine. Kelcey checked on us few times and everything was great! Amount of food that we got was perfect for the prices. I will definitely return, when I am craving any one of their food options. Thank you Kelcey, Irvin, IL Tramezzino, and management! Their original location is in Beverly Hills & don't have parking. Plenty of parking around the block, on Ventura blvd, and on their side streets. That's all for now.

We ordered a decent amount to give it a fair shot: Caesar Salad: Pretty basic. Dressing tasted almost store-bought. It was fine, but nothing I'd order again. Pepperoni Calzone: Loved that they don't cut it, it stayed super hot, and the marinara came hot too. Hubby said the flavor was really good, BUT there was just way too much dough. The filling didn't go end-to-end, so you're left 1/3 of the entire calzone more like a loaf of bread. Not a ton of toppings inside, pepperoni or cheese, for the size. Pepperoni Pizza: Came out piping hot and had good flavor, but again, the crust was a little too chewy for us. Did appreciate the generous amount of pepperoni on top. Margherita Pizza: GARLIC! Definitely not shy with it. Big tomato slices and huge basil leaves. The outer crust was actually cooked perfectly, but the center was almost undercooked and definitely not crispy. For a $100 takeout order, I was hoping to be a little more impressed. Nothing was terrible, and there were definitely some good flavors, but overall it just didn't quite hit. That said, I think there's potential here, so we'll give them another shot. Maybe next time will bump them up a star!
