The quality is always very consistent and the service is so friendly. The food is incredibly fresh, you can tell it's made with love and care! Today we started with the Vegetable Spring Rolls, which were piping hot and perfectly crispy. For our mains, we got the Shrimp Curry, Vegetable Fried Rice, and the Pad Thai. The pineapple in the curry adds the perfect touch of sweetness. The rice is always so savory and tasty. The Pad Thai is my favorite! I ordered two dishes for takeout. The cashew chicken was very disappointing--it was mostly chicken and oil, lacked flavor, and tasted nothing like authentic Thai food. I've eaten Thai food hundreds of times, and this was not even close. The basil chicken was acceptable but below average. Both portions were very small for the price. I was riding by on my bike and liked how this place looked with a cool sign and logo. The large dining area only had a few customers and I was served promptly. It has a nice upscale look and prices are reasonable($20 for shrimp pad thai). My portion was smaller than average with no sides included losing this restaurant one star. Recommended. read more

I was looking forward to eating here all week, because I hadn't had Thai in years. Ultimately it was just fine, and that's okay. I hate how everything is 1 or 5 stars with no in between. Let me be clear, give this place a try if you're looking for Thai in studio city. The service was wonderful, the location is great, and everything tasted okay. Just didn't hit the spot for me and maybe it's what I ordered? The tofu and chicken satay were disappointing, but the mi krop and Thai tea were good. Was met at the front desk by the host/bartender who asked if we had a reservation. When told that we did not, he raised his eyebrows and said we'd have to wait a few minutes. He went on pouring waters, wine, stopping by other tables and after fidgeting around for a few minutes, he finally escorted us to a table. Not great for a first impression. Please order the crab fried rice, the green papaya salad, the fried sea bass, pad Thai with shrimp, the shrimp curry, the heavenly duck and the hidden treasures appetizer. The food is so good that most of these items I'd order a double portion in order to have leftovers. Please guys: order direct from their website with their own delivery service because DD takes a fortune and no restaurant can sustain these fees and also make a profit. The food is delicious, and the owner is the sweetest! The decor is old school 80s, but we like the throwback vibes. Our go to order is the special fried rice, panang curry (love the sauce so much I could drink it!), and the chicken pad thai (slightly sweet and a great contrast to the mild spice of the curry). This is the worst experience I've ever had. I made reservations for 4 guests. When I arrived with my two children I informed the person at the front desk who is also the one of two waiters in the entire restaurant that it will only be the 3 of us since my husband is sick and couldn't make it. He said no problem please wait 10-15 mins. Event though our reservations were at 7:15pm we were waiting for 20 minutes - then the same waiter who I spoke to when we first arrived after we got seated and said "sorry we can't seat you " you had reserved for 4 guests and will need leave " I said " but I informed you when we walked in and what difference does it make the three of us are here " he said sorry you have to leave" My children (7 and 9) kept asking "mommy why did they ask us to leave" when I informed the waiter I will be posting a yelp review he then said "if I let you stay will you please not write the review ? He is a tall older gentleman with glasses. I've become a regular here since writing the last review, so I'm upping it to five stars because I've never had a bum meal here. Everything is fresh and beautifully prepared, and the service is personal and personable. I tend to always have the same thing, being a creature of habit or a bore - the cashew chicken, which I absolutely love, the pad Thai, which is always great, and the Thai salad with peanut dressing. During this crazy time, I've ordered in from there via DoorDash and it was great, so try that if you're a fan of this place. Yes, it's expensive, like really expensive, but the food is simply great and worth it, IMO. OMG this is great Thai food! What a hidden gem off of Ventura Boulevard. We took a chance and decided to eat here for the first time and we were beyond surprised and pleased at how excellent everything was. The food was delicious, great drinks, and the service was really wonderful thanks to Apple. If you go, make sure to order the roast duck it is by far one of the best I've ever eaten. I drove by Talesai on Ventura Blvd. many times and it looked closed. Well, because they keep it barely opened, so that's an issue. M-F they're opened for lunch between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm, dinner 5:30 pm - 10 pm. Opened for dinner on Saturdays only! So, yes, the schedule is kinda inflexible, parking is a pain, you can score a spot at a meter on Ventura Blvd. We had a lunch meeting here with a friend who loves the places, he's been at this location (an the one on Sunset) many times. The owners are the parents to the owner of Night + Market Song, so if you like Thai food, there are some nice choices here. Talesai has a modern decor, bit cold in my book, service was decent, we shared appetizers. The Golden Triangle are decent, the Vietnamese roll is nice and delicate, I loved the Chicken Satay, very fresh sauce, great flavor. The food is nice, flavorful, fresh. Nothing spectacular, but very light and tasty. The atmosphere is lacking, not too many customers around, so it seemed kinda dead. Plus you have to rush since they close at 2:30 pm. Would I visit again? It didn't win me over for a repeat visit! read more

I've always walked by here, wanted to try it, a bit discouraged since it looked really fancy from the outside (thought it was super expensive). Well today was the day I gave it a shot, ordered a lunch special item, which first brought a veggie roll appetizer, and man oh man was it delicious! Followed with a small side salad which was also great! I ordered the shrimp pad Thai, I've had my share of Thai places, this probably probably one of the, or THE best one I've had! Okay, for starters, I LOVE Thai food. I've been to Thailand about ten times. I eat ALL DAY, EVERY DAY :) Maybe that makes me biased, or maybe that makes me know a little something about authentic Thai food. I don't know... What I do know, is that what I had tonight was not authentic Thai food (in my opinion). Each item was rather bland, and oddly spiced -- meaning the combo of flavors was unlike anything I have tasted in Thailand. I ate: curry, larb, pad kra prow. Curry was watery and flavorless. Not spicy at all. Larb was decent for what it was, but didn't taste anything like larb. Pad kra prow tasted like Chinese stir fry. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but that's not what I want for my PKP. I get it, sometimes food is regional. Maybe they cook a certain way, for region that I'm unfamiliar with -- but if that's the case, this region lags way behind the rest of Thailand when it comes to flavor, so my review still counts! The staff we interacted with were kind, and the food came out in a reasonable time. So there's that. read more

My husband and I had dinner here while waiting for our dog at the emergency vet. We had a Vietnamese spring roll, chili garlic chicken and Panang curry. All were #Delicious!
