I'm very conflicted about this place. It's between 3 and 4 for me, at the high 3's. I just wanted to love it since it had great reviews and the photos looked promising. The ingredients used were so fresh, you could really tell they use high quality ingredients. The food came out very quickly, and the server was attentive enough. I didn't expect it to be completely authentic, as its fusion of course. But it just really didn't have those bold Thai flavors you get at a usual mom & pop restaurant. I ordered the Lemongrass soup with a side of noodles, my wife the yellow curry with a side of rice. The yellow curry was 18 dollars for a small, overly sweet curry that lacked spices and frankly wasn't worth the price at all. The Lemongrass Soup was honestly the grossest thing I've had in a long time. It just tasted like peppery chicken, they threw in tomatoes which contrasted the lemon grass poorly. The broth was insanely oily and I truly couldn't taste any lemon grass. This dish is supposed to be light but filling similar to Pho, but this was an oily, gross, chunky mess that I would warn anyone to order in the foreseeable future. Late dinner craving of Thai so we found a wonderful cozy spot in Studio City. My daughter had already been so I let her order for me. For starters we ordered crispy rolls , gai wings. The crispy rolls were deliciously crispy and stuffed with yummy goodness. The gai wings were just as delicious! Fried to perfection with an amazing taste of garlic. For our main we ordered pad thai that was so flavorful and so yummy We also ordered the drunken noodles. We got them with beef. So flavorful with bell peppers and green beans. I had driven past this spot for years, always telling myself I'd finally give it a try and I finally did! From the street, it's easy to overlook since it's tucked into a strip mall on Ventura Blvd, but I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and welcoming it was inside. I ordered the Pad See-U, which came with flat noodles, chicken, kale, egg, cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots, all stir-fried in a brown sauce. At just over $18 before tax, I found it a bit pricey, especially since I've had similar dishes elsewhere for less. That said, it was packed with chicken and veggies, though I did wish it had a bit more flavor overall. It was quiet inside but then again it was late. Came here for dinner on a Friday evening and got seated right away. Such a cute and intimate little spot! I really enjoyed the food everything we tried was tasty, I just wish the portions were a bit bigger. We had the chicken pad Thai, papaya salad, broccoli beef stir fry, and some spring rolls. This is a cute little Thai spot in studio city. They fit as many tables in there as possible so when every table is filled it does feel crowded. The tables are all for four or two people. I got the lunch box! It was enough food for a lunch special. The beef had so much flavor. It was listed as spicy on the menu, but the server said that they could adjust the spice levels. Food tastes ok and service is ok. Prices have sky rocketed which is expected especially if you stay outside the lunch special. We had lunch for two, ordered pad Thai, coconut soup, larb, Thai ice tea, mango coconut desert. When ordering the coconut soup I was asked "no protein?" I said tofu? Expecting it to be included. We enjoyed the quesadillas last time with the peanut sauce so we ordered it again. The Gai wings came out hot but that was a good thing. Then we got the Green Curry w chicken, pineapple rice w combination beef and shrimp, and basil Alfredo noodles. My fav was the basil alfredo noodles. I got the Thai tea as well, delicious as always. I ordered a mild curry and specifically requested zero spice. The dish I received was extremely spicy, to the point that it was completely inedible. I called the restaurant, and they assured me that if I brought the dish back, they would exchange it for something I could actually eat. They even told me I could come the next day if needed. I made the drive back--it's not close to where I live--only to find the restaurant closed (they're closed on Tuesdays), which was never mentioned. Frustrating, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned again the following day. When I arrived, the woman at the counter refused to honor the exchange they had promised me, despite the fact that the dish was untouched and I had followed exactly what THEY told me to do. I wasted two trips, time, gas, and patience, all because they would not keep their word. The service is truly atrocious, and the food wasn't good to begin with. Perhaps we came on an off day because our experience was not as good as we had expected based on the reviews I've read. We've been to the one in Glendale and have enjoyed their food. Firstly, the lone server was not very welcoming and proactive. Then the food was disappointing as well. The Thai ice tea had a very strong chlorine taste so we couldn't even drink it. The peanuts in the Pad Thai was stale and rancid. It also had a bitter taste, probably from the bean sprouts. The Heaven Scent seemed like just some sautéed chicken slices over some blanched vegetables. The vegetables had little flavor. The khee mao pasta was the only dish that was ok. The parking lot looks small and cramped but the spots were pretty spacious and I was easily able to find a spot. The restaurant is lowkey and I appreciated the calm piano instrumentals they were playing. Our server was really kind and attentive, as well. The wait for our food was not long. Portions are big and I am so excited to eat my leftovers for lunch tomorrow. I would definitely recommend the suki dry noodles. The star of our meal, however, was the dessert. This dish was a little on the salty side and was missing some sweetness. I did however enjoy the cauliflower that was included as most places just add the basic carrots and broccoli so that was nice touch. Thai Iced Tea: 5/5. I discovered this little hideaway restaurant when we took our dog to Sam's. Pass by many times but never noticed it until recently. Decided to give it a try as our other pick was a fail. Glad we did. As our mains my husband had a Salmon Cali Curry and I had Lemongrass Soup with Noodles extra spicy. We were not disappointed.
