It's always appreciated when establishment has its own parking area. You can easily park in the adjacent lot or there is a neighboring much larger lot next-door. Staff was quick to greet me as soon as I walked in. Had the cashew nut chicken and Thai coffee. Both were very fresh and the cashew nut was made to order. Good variety of vegetables in the cashew nut chicken and sauce was tasty. There is a patio area to dine outside. That looks nice but a bit too hot today for that.
My husband loved the food as much as I did. Many vegetarian pescatarian choices for us. We ordered a lot so we could bring home leftovers. I highly recommend this place. For Thai lovers, mom pop quality.
Wonton Soup (8.6/10) -- my favorite dish of the night. the wontons are juicy and crispy. The broth is light but so flavorful. Khao Soi Soup (8.2/10) -- spicy, salty, balanced well with the coconut milk. a great crunch and lovely add ons to adjust the soup to your taste. Crab Fried Rice (7.5/10) -- nothing outstanding but a good way to get full.
Tasty Thai! While parked in the big parking lot for Vons we saw a big sign for Khao Soi. We loved the dish so we just had to try the place! The crab Khao Soi is one of their specials and was quite fragrant and delicious! The combo of flat rice and crispy egg noodles was great with the veggies and bits of crab. We also enjoyed the drunken noodle with fried tofu. The dish looked not as saucy as other places but it was not bland and had a good kick from the chili. Of course you can always adjust the heat level to your liking. We came on a Monday night and there was quite a few folks having dinner plus a good stream of take out and delivery orders come through. Parking is available in front but can get crowded with all the businesses in the complex.
Location 4 stars: In Studio City, California, off of Ventura Blvd between Laurel Canyon and Whitsett. The restaurant is not physically on Ventura Blvd though. You will have to enter a long driveway into the shopping plaza and the restaurant will be to your left. There are a few parking spots in front of the restaurant and there is a parking structure on the premises. There is also limited metered parking on Ventura Blvd. Venue 4 stars: Smaller restaurant with indoor tables and booths and covered outdoor seating. Service 3 stars: Basic and sufficient. One disappointing thing that I noticed is that they recommend the tip amount based on the total after tax, which is not correct. Tipping is customarily calculated based on the total before tax. Some restaurants have been trying to do this recently which I find misleading and I will call them out on it. I have posted a picture of the check. Food 4 stars: Extensive and diverse menu of Thai cuisine, with all the usual staples and a few signature dishes. Prices were on par with similar restaurants. We started with the Tom Kha Chicken Soup and the Shrimp Cake Balls. For our main dishes, we had their signature Khao Soi with Crispy Pork, the Ka Prow Over Rice with Crispy Pork, and the Penang Curry with Chicken. Be aware that you have to order rice for the curry separately. I found the Shrimp Cake Balls to be rather bland and chewy. The sweet sauce that was provided with it did not help much either. I also felt that the Crispy Pork was too greasy and gamey but that might just be me. Everything else was great and recommended. Unfortunately we did not have room to try any of their desserts this time. Drinks 3 stars: No alcohol! Typical Thai restaurant menu of soft drinks, Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee. I had the Thai Iced Coffee and it was good. The Last Word 4 stars: A solid option for Thai food when you are in the area. Recommended!

7/10 I tried Khao So Thai through a delivery app because they had a special deal, and I'll say this they give you a ton of food for your money. The value is definitely there. That said, the flavors just didn't do it for me. It wasn't terrible, but it also wasn't great. I've had plenty of Thai spots that leave you craving more with that mouthwatering taste, and this just didn't come close. A super small unassuming restaurant that we just happened to come across. Now I've eaten a LOT of Thai food in my life including in Thailand and I will say the food here is AMAZING. We had the Khoi Soi Soup spicy with Tofu, the mango fish and Crab Fried Rice. All were amazing especially the Soup. Will definitely be back
If the restaurant is named after a dish, that dish better be on point and the khao soi here did not disappoint. It's usually not my go to order but after having it here, I've been converted. The duck noodles were also very flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly.
The interior is a bit small and not that much seating so expect to wait if they're busy. The wait is so worth it though. Everything we ate was so good and well seasoned. The Thai tea tasted a bit watered down
Came here for dinner. Their website says they close at 9:00 pm on Saturday, but in fact, they close at 10:00 pm. Kelsey provided wonderful service. We ordered the larb salad, green curry, and chicken satay. The chicken satay was extremely juicy. The peanut sauce and cucumber salad were the perfect compliments. Although the larb salad had a really good flavor, it was definitely more spicy than expected because of the red pepper flakes they put inside. Nevertheless, the dressing had such a good flavor and the amount of chicken it had was so plentiful. My absolute favorite dish was the green curry. It was so extremely flavorful. It had the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. I got it mild because it definitely is far too spicy otherwise. I would highly recommend. Also, loved the Moo ping with sticky rice (pork skewers) and blanket shrimp. The pork is juicy and flavorful. Cooked to perfection. The blanket shrimp were lightly fried with a thin layer of soy paper. The shrimp were huge and delicious. I will definitely be back because they have so many items in their menu that look absolutely delicious. The only downfall is they are closed on Sundays.
Overall the food is pretty good. The Tom Yum has really good flavor I just wish there were more veggies and meat in it. The Pad Thai and Moo Ping were excellent. The service was a bit slow. The restaurant was full of patrons and they were slammed with takeout orders. There were only 2 people working the front and you could feel the stress of being understaffed from them. Definitely recommend just be prepared to a wait a little bit during their dinner rush!

This place is small on the inside, so don't come expecting a ton of indoor seating, but they do have outdoor seating which makes it feel more spacious. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is incredibly friendly, which really stood out to us. As for the food, I ordered the Pad Ka Prow over rice with crispy pork. It was good overall, but a bit too salty for my personal taste. My husband got the Panang Curry with beef and he said it tasted good, though he wished the portion of meat was a bit more generous. My friend ordered the Spicy Eggplant with tofu over rice and enjoyed it without any complaints. All in all, it's a solid neighborhood spot if you value cleanliness and friendly service, but be aware that some dishes lean salty and the meat portions could be bigger. read more

I decided to try this place for the first time and ordered a delivery of Kua Gai Noodles with an instruction specifying "NOT Spicy." See the photos below for what I received; red peppers mixed flakes all over the noodles. (What you see aren't even a half of them.) Hidden in the back of a shopping center along Ventura Blvd. You can find this place. A friend told me about it so I walked there. It seems like it's family owned. It's small, unpretentious with delicious food. Honestly I ordered off the specials menu and was delightfully surprised! Man the khaki Soi Crab meat was off the hook. Not to mention the owners and workers speak in Thai, you can't really get more authentic than that. This was the best Khao Soi I've had. parking is super easy and convenient, free in a plaza. It's hard to miss this restaurant, the name is bright and noticeable. I ordered a few things here but their seafood Kao Soi was perfection. It had scallops, shrimp, fish, squid, imitation crab. The portion was generous and the best part? Seafood is EASY to overcook and it's hard to get right. This is a Thai restaurant that got it RIGHT. WOW. This is possibly the best Thai I have ever had. We stumbled upon their fantastic Yelp reviews while in the area, & stopped in for an early weeknight dinner. Parking was very easy in this small strip mall. About 80% of the patio & inside tables were filled, which for a weeknight at such an early hour was a surprise to us. Once we tasted the food, we knew why! All our food hit the table fast: Shrimp Balls - super crispy balls of solid shrimp, & not oily at all Moo Ping - deliciously seasoned, tender pork skewers, served w/a spicy dipping sauce & hot sticky rice Eggplant w/Garlic Sauce, add tofu - always my fave dish to order; their version is THE BEST Drunken Noodles, add shrimp - wok-smokey tender noodles w/big shrimp & veggies Panang Curry, add chicken - medium spicy is spicy! The coconutty curry is TO DIE FOR. Sticky rice! - to go with everything Mango w/Sticky Rice - so good, it's even better than the one I had in Kuala Lumpur. Perfectly ripe, whole sliced golden mango, generous serving of coconutty sticky rice. Perfect! We each took a first bite of something & stopped mid chew bc it was SO GOOD. I love this place. I come here often since it's close to my home and office. I tried everything from the khao soi, pad see ew, tom yum, bbq chicken, and drunken noodles. I love adding duck as my protein. They make their duck so delicious! The ambience is nice and I like sitting outside and dining al fresco on a sunny day. The interior is wood paneled and gives rustic Thai vibes. The service is fast and friendly and I have no complaints. Try Khao Soi whenever you crave Thai flavors! read more

Was in the area grabbing some ice cream from McConnells and craving Thai food. Saw that this spot was walking distance away and served Khao Soi which I love and not served widely. Ordered the Khao Soi with beef, pad see ew with beef and the fried chicken. Khao Soi (3.5/5): I was hoping the beef would be super tender and have consistency of short rib but these were strips so it was just ok to me. The curry tasted great and the noodles were nice. Pad see ew (2/5): Not that impressed with this one. The portion was kinda small for the price since it was extra for beef and the beef was extremely tough. Fried chicken (5/5): Big portions and super crispy! There were fried shallots on top as well. The chicken was really juicy and so crispy without being overly greasy. Would definitely order this again. Only knock was that the amount of sweet chili sauce provided was not enough compared to amount of chicken. The inside was nice and clean and pickup was pretty quick and easy. Would consider coming again at least for the fried chicken and maybe I would try the chicken Khao Soi instead of beef. read more

They call them drunken noodles because there's supposed to be so much sauce that the noodles are drunk on it. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice is not deveined so to be quite literal, it's shitty. I asked for a side of sriracha and lime in the notes on the dish and on the order itself and they missed both. Thai food is the greatest on earth and the best thing after a bad day. This is the kind of Thai food you find in a fly-over state, not Los Angeles. read more

After my trip to Thailand, I am on the hunt for the best khao soi in LA. So far I have tried 3 places and Khao Soi Thai is on top! It tastes the most similar to the one I had at Chiang Mai. It wasn't overly spicy yet had powerful flavor. Price was a bit steep but it was almost enough to feed 2 people! This place isn't that big with about 10 tables. However it wasnt crowded on Saturday evening. Lots of people ordering takeout! Btw this place was featured on buzzfeed! read more
