She makes you feel at home, like an auntie taking care of you, I love her! and that makes the whole experience even better. A truly hidden spot just off the alley behind a storefront with their name on the front. This little truck truly surprises you as the location leaves a bit to be desired. They do have a couple tables and a heat lamp if you want to dine there, though probably better for take out. The employees were super friendly and if just for them, I would come back. Now onto the food. Having tried many Thai places throughout LA, many being very authentic, this truck leaves a bit to be desired. The flavors were a bit sweeter than other places and portion size was fair for the price, though not as generous as other reviewers seem to say. Also, was not impressed by the duck as the amount of meat included for the price difference did not equate. My friends and I were staying at a hotel near the airport and wanted to find something to eat. Thai SA! came up as a location close and with high ratings, so we decided to order online for pick up to bring back to the hotel. The truck is located in a food truck lot, it seemed a little sketchy.. but once I saw the owner inside her truck, I relaxed a bit. It also seemed like everyone was used to the area. We arrived early to pick up and the owner/chef was super nice, I didn't even realize that I was 15 mins early, so I apologized and she advised me she would text me when the order was ready. Within 8 mins it was done and she had it all packed up and ready, also offering if we needed utensils, hot sauce, soy sauce! She was lovely enough to give me a Thai tea (vegan) as well, which was super nice of her! The food was AMAZING! Our hotel was 10 mins away and the moment I was able to start eating, the food was not only good it was hot! We ordered the Pad Zee, Pad Thai, Ton Yum Soup, and green curry, we originally wanted yellow but the owner called me when I placed my order and let us know there was no more, but we could pick either one to replace it. This Food Truck is located in the food truck parking as soon as you pull into the driveway its on your right. The service was 5 stars, but the curry was only 3 stars so 4 star total and only because the service was great or else it would be 3 stars at best. "Red curry" was white/yellowish and was too sweet for my taste. Definitely brothy, but not spicy at all just sweet. The ingredients did taste fresh +1 Parking can be tricky just fyi, I was told to move my car by another food truck driver. Will I be back ? Maybe to get a noodle dish, but not any curries. Here's my breakdown: Food I would recommend: - Pad Thai: 10/10 best pad thai you'll ever try. - Crab Fried Rice: 10/10 the crab is fresh, and rice is savory - Tom Yum: 10/10 yummy and sour, came with veggies and choice of meat Thai Ice Tea: 10/10 MUST TRY. Very sweet and creamy. Location: I recommend going during the day, but also a very good late night spot. It's a food truck in a neighborhood so not many people walking at night. Seems sort've sketchy, but locals appear comfortable and safe in the area. Price: You get a lot of bang for your buck here but I would say the pricing is very similar to any Thai food restaurant. First I just have to say how incredible the service was and even more incredible it was to learn that Chef and Owner Sai operates this business on her own! Bravo to you chef! You're awesome! My girlfriend and I ordered our food and were eager to try one of the only late night Thai spots around! Sai happily took our order and told us she'd send a text when the food was ready. I'd like to preface by saying that all food, especially Thai food, changes depending on what region you're from or in, who taught you/ where you learned, and what ingredients are available at that time of year. Not all dishes are prepared the same way. We ordered the drunkin noodles with chicken, veggie egg rolls, Tom kha soup with chicken, and a vegan Thai iced tea. Drunkin Noodles with chicken: This had a brown sauce I wasn't familiar with and things like baby corn, mushroom, and even broccoli inside. All this being said it still had great flavor. I like mine super spicy, so make sure to ask for it that way if you do too. Tom Kha Soup: Was a thinner soup with a lot of savory zesty notes. The coconut flavor as well as the lemon grass flavor were present. I didn't taste any galangal but the soup was still flavorful. We ordered a side of rice to eat with it which was nutty and fragrant. All in all it was super yummy! Probably our favorite dish ordered. Veggie Egg Rolls: Yummy, crunchy, with a black pepper and veggie inside. Dipping sauce was great! Vegan Thai Iced Tea: Sooooooo good!!! Had all the flavor of great Thai tea, just made vegan instead, definitely recommend! On the house we were given a Taro Milk Tea with Boba, which was also delicious! I'd say that the tea itself was so good it didn't need the boba, as the boba was a bit soft/ not chewy. So good ordered take out and all I can say is this is going to be my new go to for Thai! I got the pad Thai with shrimp the green curry chicken (my go to Thai dish) an order of mixed veggies with chicken and the chicken over rice dish. Everything had tons of flavor. The pad thai had a peanut-buttery sauce which I loved, and I am usually not crazy about Pad Thai. Chicken with veggies came with a yummy brown sauce and the chicken over rice was crisped to perfection. Definitely worth getting a bunch of dishes and eating family style.
