Came by for lunch on a rainy day. We were the only people in the restaurant so can't judge the ambiance too much. But heard there is live music during the week and we saw that they have a full bar! So we plan to come back for dinner for music and different energy. Food was what we needed. Sufficient spice. Tom yum soup had a ton of mushrooms but still tasted balanced.kind service all around

Friends have been recommending Gindi Thai for years and we finally went for dinner! We ordered chicken satay, pad Thai, Plenty Fish Roll and mango sticky rice. Everything was yummy especially the fish roll. So many complicated flavors. And they even brought us little 2 piece cucumber rolls to start. Friendly service. Nice place. The ONLY problem I had was it was SO LOUD I couldn't even hear the server.

This is Gindi in Burbank, a neighborhood staple for 18 years! My mom wanted to spend the day at IKEA, so we ended up here. It's just such a nice space. The staff is always so kind. I love the full bar and the pet friendly patio. I love the happy hour specials, but if you go during dinner there's a free amuse bouche. Love the drinks and the new chilling roll which has spicy albacore, avocado, and yellowtail on top. I also would get the Massaman beef shank curry. Just great to support a mom and pop that's been in the neighborhood for so long. They were also nice enough to give anyone who mentions my name gets a free plate of dumplings for the next month. So enjoy.

Cute lunch or dinner spot! Came here during lunch hours with my co-workers. We made a reservation and it ended up being a good call because they filled up throughout our time there. For appetizers we got the Chicken Satay and Crispy Spring Rolls. Both were very good and were presented very nicely and perfect for sharing for groups. For my meal I got a Baked Crab Handroll and the Double Shrimp sushi roll. Both were good but if I went back I would just order a bunch of the Handrolls because it was the best - warm and made perfectly! The only negative thing was that both my sushi and my coworker's came out 20-30 mins after everyone else got their meals so they were all almost done by the time we started. Our waiter did warn us the sushi would take longer but since it is half of their menu I think they should figure out a way to make it more quickly.

We popped in yesterday with a group of 4. My friend and I shared a Pad Thai with chicken and the Spicy Fried Rice with chicken. Both were so good, the fried rice did have quite a kick to it which we loved. My other friend ordered the protein pad Thai which comes without noodled and extra veggies to help with fitness journey and he really enjoyed it. We also got the garlic edamame to share and it was spectacular. They have daily happy hour specials and we tried the Lychee Martini for $10 and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon for $8. The lychee martini was delightful! Our server was Panida and she was great. I didn't get the bartenders name but he was amazing too! They both provided great customer service, we're looking forward to coming back soon!

BEST Thai spot in LA, and I do not say that lightly. Amazing, friendly service (just like you're eating at a friend's house), diverse and delicious menu, and a cute, casual vibe that matches the super high quality but unpretentious dishes. You can get all your classic favorites plus a few sushi options. I think their hand rolls give KazuNori a run for their money in quality (though not the warm rice, but that's okay!). The green curry is so good with the roti, the pad see ew is super flavorful, the sushi uses fresh cuts of fish, and the Thai Iced Tea was the right balance of sweet. Cannot wait to come here again, highly recommend it as your pre-concert or pre-show spot if you're in the LA area.

beautiful life music, stunning decorations, kind and attentive service. the food was great! they had both sushi and thai on the menu. the sushi was very fresh and the pad thai was great. the only downside was it was difficult to find parking so i would suggest walking if you live in the area.

If you're looking for a really good Thai spot, you will instantly fall in love with the food. The service was a 10/10 and food 100/10. The sushi is fresh and every main dish on the menu is delicious. The presentation was beautiful. The ambience is relaxing, and the dishes are authentic.

A great spot for dinner within walking distance of my hotel. I would recommend getting a reservation as the place has limited seating, but we were shown a table right away. The food was rich, delicious, and filling. The garlic edamame was amazing!

We came on a Sunday night. It was quiet at 6:30 PM, but by 7 o'clock the place was bustling. First, they brought out a tiny amuse bouche to whet the palate. Very nice! I then ordered the Sum Tom Gindi. Gorgeous to look at and tasty. A bit spicy. Two nice meaty shrimp on top. My friend had the salmon sashimi. She was delighted with the presentation and the flavor. Service was attentive and not intrusive. We really liked it and will return.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

The chicken was a little dry and the seasoning on it just tasted spicy to be spicy. No real flavor. The cucumber and slaw also did not help with the bland taste. Just get it. Refreshing with just the right amount of alcohol I want to taste in my drink hehe. Food came out timely, staff were helpful and attentive. Great place for a group of 4-5 - anymore and it'd be too crowded as they don't have big tables. Loved the vibe of the place. It was FANTASTIC. Our server, Isaiah, was absolutely amazing and on top of things, refilling our water before we even hit half glass. Not to mention his energy and vibe was so welcoming and fun. We got the PuPu platter for two, came out within minutes, I could spend the rest of my life eating that alone. Isaiah recommended his favorite sauces, Garlic Chive and Chipotle Citrus, they were amazing. We got the shrimp and lobster roll, I officially entered heaven. The Isles of Club sandwich was the finishing touch that had me laughing from joy. Near the end of our dining we meant Max, another server, who is absolutely fantastic, brought us everything we needed, boxes, sauce containers, bags, to-go dessert. His energy was also amazing and super fun. Broken Compass Tiki is a pirate themed tiki bar in Burbank…read more They don't having a parking lot, but it was very easy to find street parking just around the corner on a Sunday afternoon. The front of the building is a little vaguely marked, and the entrance has speakeasy vibes, which was a surprise. Upon walking in the front door, there is some tiki décor and a small counter in the rear. I remember thinking to myself "what the heck, this is it?". I checked in at the host stand on the left, and was handed me a boarding pass. She then led us through a hidden door behind what looked like a shipping crate. We were now in the real Broken Compass. The interior is a good size. The two-sided bar seats around a dozen. There is a lounge side of the bar that has two large booths along the wall, and another area with comfortable looking couches and lounge chairs. The main dining room has some tiki hut booths, and two sections of tables with half booth and half chair. The décor is pretty extensive with a good mix of pirate, nautical, and tiki themes. There is a lot of bamboo, thatch, rope, cargo netting, skulls and skeletons, port holes, octopus tentacles, jellyfish, tiki lights, and more. The ceiling is dark with various nautical and pirate markings, and even tied up ship sails overhead. The tiki hut booths have the parrots from the enchanted tiki room above them. Even the two restrooms are nautical themed, with beach and marine sounds playing. There is a lot of great décor to look at. We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy yet. By the time we left a few hours later, it was starting to get busy. We decided to sit at the bar. We started out with the buffalo cauliflower ($14) for an afternoon snack. The serving size was generous, and the buffalo sauce had a good tang. It was served with some sauces, and was surprisingly filling. A nice feature of the cocktail menu is that each drink displays one to three compass stars to indicate the strength of the drink. Their cocktails use a great variety of liquors including ones you don't often see. Many of the ingredients are made in-house. I started out with Chupacabra's Vacation (Demerara Rum, Jamacian Rum, Pomegranate Reduction, Cinnamon, Lime Juice, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $17). It is served with a flaming lime on top and a little fire show. It was balanced with a light booziness, some light pomegranate flavor, and a cinnamon sprinkle on top. She started out with the Bittersweet Paradise (Jamacian Rum, White Rum, Campari, Passionfruit Syrup, Lemon, Lime, Pineapple, two-star boozy rank, $18). It didn't drink boozy at all, and was passion fruit forward, with light bitterness. My second cocktail was the Bermuda Dune Buggy (Gin, Overproof Rum, Kumquat Liqueur, Cassis, Orange, Lime, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $18). It had a very unique garnish of a Chartreuse infused gummy which was delicious. The drink was nicely balanced, and didn't really drink boozy even with overproof rum in it. They have a rotating monthly cocktail and she tried the Tropic Like It's Hot (Coconut Washed Lemongrass Infused Rum, Mango, Lemon, Coconut Water, Amaro, $17) which was created by one of our bartenders Daniel. It was served in a Spam can and was light and refreshing with a nice pop of fruit at the start, and a very nice coconut flavor. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and had great conversation with our bartenders Daniel and Monica. They also provided excellent service. Broken Compass supports payment with the InKind app which gives you 20% back (10% on Friday and Saturday) in InKind cash. We had a really great time here, and the drinks, food, décor, and atmosphere were excellent. I purchased a Hork (Horse-shaRK) mug for $50 to bring home as a souvenir. We would definitely return again when in the area.
