Amazing drinks to try out. If you are a person looking for live matchs and enjoy drinks and socialize, this is the must go. Staff were great, ambiance was just perfect.

Nachos (without sour cream) - a good lunch idea and cheaper than their specials

Had a work lunch here (yes, I discussed work in a bar during the day, and what of it?) and was pleasantly surprised at the food. First impression upon entering was the handful of day drinkers in there, which I figured was a good sign. They do have lunch specials of burgers and salads, but I'll share this hint: their appetizer menu is deep, and they're cheaper than the lunch specials. I had the nachos which was deceivingly large: while not healthy, I couldn't get close to finishing it. It fit the need and I saved some dough. The patio area is comfortable and well set-up: even though it has the 80s metal music out there, it wasn't obnoxious or anything. Service was friendly, helpful, and always hustling, which we appreciated. I'd like to give happy hour a shot, but Magnolia Corner is also a good (and unexpected) place for lunch.

They had me at "swinging saloon" doors...I swept past them & stepped inside to a rustic bar with high top & regular tables and most importantly, a welcoming atmosphere. I was back for a second round. My first round was a Saturday afternoon. The place wasn't too busy but by the time we left it was packed. This time it was a Wednesday around 5pm. It had a nice steady flow. Very laid back and casual here. You won't feel like you are being pressed to eat, drink and get out which is nice. Our server was Ashley. We loved her! Super friendly, helpful and took the time to get to know us. Another reason why this spot made my "Fav" list. Some of the menu options include hot dogs, burgers, salads, soups, chicken wings, nachos & fries. The Flat bread pizza is delicious! *They also have several large TV's to broadcast sports which brings in a huge crowd on game night. There is a back patio with a TV screen and another patio on the side where you can also sit and watch sports or just hang with your friends. *Happy Hour is Monday - Friday 2-6pm *They have lunch specials and sports specials as well. *Free Street Parking on Magnolia Blvd and side streets ~and that's all I got to say about that ~

Spacious and chill bar with good bar food. We came on weekday and despite the steady flow of customers we were seated immediately .. The menu has some good choices but we settled on a burger and nachos . We enjoyed our food and the service. The burger was juicy and beautifully balanced. Service staff were super quick and helpful with recommendations. Magnolia Corner has perfected the blend of feeling like a regular, bringing you to a party, and being a priority. Visited weekly on Sundays for football games under previous owners. Since then, been here a couple of times and it has gone through a serious upgrade. Met with my friend Te-see to hang out for happy hour. We had a blast, this was the right spot. We ordered a couple signature cocktails from the menu, all were delicious. Ashley, our first sit staff for the evening, was awesome. She provided suggestions, answered all questions and very courteous. We shared a plate of nachos which were pretty good. The vibe was laid back, low noise level and comfortable seating. We sat at a high table. Cool spot to hang out for happy hour.

We only went here briefly on a whim, but I'm already looking forward to going back. I don't live far down the road.. and I remember this building being empty for awhile. Then suddenly I saw saloon doors being build and lights and signs being placed. It looked like it was about to be a new small country bar! And I was so excited!! Well, it's not that. BUT. It is a great little place with a pub kind of feel. It's small but open and welcoming. Seating inside and out side. We came on a Tuesday for the cheap taco Tuesday deals. It was totally worth it. We got fresh made tacos in the back of the place. And ate them in the front seating area. The staff was nice enough. They have TVs all over. I think the price point is a little high. So happy hour and specials may be my next movie. But I'd like to go back. The food was good and the vibes were fine. Happy this place opened! (Now, you just need line dancing nights!)

    The front- so cool!

Decided to try this place on a whim tonight while starving and I am so glad that I did! The location is so cool looking-many may remember the former business, and the cool western style doors are still alive and well! I love the old photograph inside of the location as a saloon- lots of neat touches. The space looks clean and the servers are great. I started with the house margarita which was so smooth! It was delicious! I'd definitely order it again and would recommend it to others. I ordered a burger and they were so kind and were able to make mine dairy free- the kitchen and servers were incredibly accommodating!! My boyfriend ordered the western burger that comes with blue cheese and he said it was SO good. We were both craving burgers, so this seemed like a great place to try and we were right! Awesome burgers! Great service. I'd love to try other things here in the future.

Probably more a 3.5 for me. The place looks so much better. They did a great job fixing it up. Service was friendly. Food was a mixed bag. I got their smash burger and it was okay. The bun was pretty much all I could taste. Freinds felt the same about Veggie burger. Wife had the Cheesesteak and liked it a lot. I gotta say, it was good. Fries were just way, WAY overly salted. Side salad was good and viggie side was fine. I had their take on a mule and it was fine. Not very strong. All in all, i liked the space. Nothing about the food will make us rush back, but if we do return, it'll be for the Cheesesteak.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

We got the PuPu platter for two, came out within minutes, I could spend the rest of my life eating that alone. Isaiah recommended his favorite sauces, Garlic Chive and Chipotle Citrus, they were amazing. We got the shrimp and lobster roll, I officially entered heaven. The Isles of Club sandwich was the finishing touch that had me laughing from joy. Broken Compass Tiki is a pirate themed tiki bar in Burbank…read more They don't having a parking lot, but it was very easy to find street parking just around the corner on a Sunday afternoon. The front of the building is a little vaguely marked, and the entrance has speakeasy vibes, which was a surprise. Upon walking in the front door, there is some tiki décor and a small counter in the rear. I remember thinking to myself "what the heck, this is it?". I checked in at the host stand on the left, and was handed me a boarding pass. She then led us through a hidden door behind what looked like a shipping crate. We were now in the real Broken Compass. The interior is a good size. The two-sided bar seats around a dozen. There is a lounge side of the bar that has two large booths along the wall, and another area with comfortable looking couches and lounge chairs. The main dining room has some tiki hut booths, and two sections of tables with half booth and half chair. The décor is pretty extensive with a good mix of pirate, nautical, and tiki themes. There is a lot of bamboo, thatch, rope, cargo netting, skulls and skeletons, port holes, octopus tentacles, jellyfish, tiki lights, and more. The ceiling is dark with various nautical and pirate markings, and even tied up ship sails overhead. The tiki hut booths have the parrots from the enchanted tiki room above them. Even the two restrooms are nautical themed, with beach and marine sounds playing. There is a lot of great décor to look at. We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy yet. By the time we left a few hours later, it was starting to get busy. We decided to sit at the bar. We started out with the buffalo cauliflower ($14) for an afternoon snack. The serving size was generous, and the buffalo sauce had a good tang. It was served with some sauces, and was surprisingly filling. A nice feature of the cocktail menu is that each drink displays one to three compass stars to indicate the strength of the drink. Their cocktails use a great variety of liquors including ones you don't often see. Many of the ingredients are made in-house. I started out with Chupacabra's Vacation (Demerara Rum, Jamacian Rum, Pomegranate Reduction, Cinnamon, Lime Juice, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $17). It is served with a flaming lime on top and a little fire show. It was balanced with a light booziness, some light pomegranate flavor, and a cinnamon sprinkle on top. She started out with the Bittersweet Paradise (Jamacian Rum, White Rum, Campari, Passionfruit Syrup, Lemon, Lime, Pineapple, two-star boozy rank, $18). It didn't drink boozy at all, and was passion fruit forward, with light bitterness. My second cocktail was the Bermuda Dune Buggy (Gin, Overproof Rum, Kumquat Liqueur, Cassis, Orange, Lime, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $18). It had a very unique garnish of a Chartreuse infused gummy which was delicious. The drink was nicely balanced, and didn't really drink boozy even with overproof rum in it. They have a rotating monthly cocktail and she tried the Tropic Like It's Hot (Coconut Washed Lemongrass Infused Rum, Mango, Lemon, Coconut Water, Amaro, $17) which was created by one of our bartenders Daniel. It was served in a Spam can and was light and refreshing with a nice pop of fruit at the start, and a very nice coconut flavor. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and had great conversation with our bartenders Daniel and Monica. They also provided excellent service. Broken Compass supports payment with the InKind app which gives you 20% back (10% on Friday and Saturday) in InKind cash. We had a really great time here, and the drinks, food, décor, and atmosphere were excellent. I purchased a Hork (Horse-shaRK) mug for $50 to bring home as a souvenir. We would definitely return again when in the area.
