It was ok! I didn't realize they had a breakfast menu, so I was waiting around till 11 till they opened. I sat at the bar and ordered a watermelon mimosa and the breakfast burger. Both were very good. Service was slow. They seemed overwhelmed with the convention going on.

We were seeking a decent sit down restaurant near the Burbank Airport. We hit the jackpot with this place located right across the street from the airport. It even has its own driveway as it is at the front of the Marriott Hotel on Hollywood Way. (Turn into Marriott Drive). There is a parking lot but if you eat at the restaurant your parking is free. Going in you get a parking ticket that you then get a sticker from your server that makes it free when you leave. The menu is not large but they have great modern delicious foods to choose. There is a large square bar with TV sets on all sides for great viewing of sports. We were able to see the tv from our table with nice padded seats which surround the bar. The whole restaurant is on the front outside patio of the Hotel, right next to the entrance and front desk. We came in and saw plenty of seats and walked right over to the one we wanted and sat down. No need for reservations. I had made one but there was no one at the front desk to seat us so we sat ourselves. I liked that as we got to choose where. The waitress and cute perky girl named Katie came and brought us menus and got our drink orders right away. She was very sweet to us. Being my mom is 90 we appreciated her kindness. We got an appetizer of Edamame that was spiced so perfectly we ate it up. Then came our main dishes arriving quickly after our appetizer was removed. I got three sliders (smaller cheeseburgers? I asked for sides as I am particular about my burgers, and was delighted with their ability to satisfy all three things I wanted. Cheddar Cheese instead of American, blue cheese crumbles, and straight horseradish. The sliders also have dill pickle and their own sauces and with all my additions omg they were spectacular!!! My mom got a chicken salad and she loved it. My friend got a gumbo dish with shrimp and rice and veggies and she also really enjoyed it. Our food came out quickly after we finished the appetizer. We then met a handsome man named "U" and he looked important like the manager or something. We praised the restaurant and staff and he liked hearing that and was so kind to us. After we ate dinner, we got dessert. A large serving of caramel custard pudding with blueberries on top. It looked small in the jar it came it but was enough as we all ate with the three spoons they brought, and by the time the jar was empty everyone was smiling and fully sated. Loved this place and plan on returning even if we aren't going to the airport. My friend is a flight attendant for an airlines at burbank airport and we asked if they give discounts and our sweet waitress said yes!! For all the airlines at Burbank. So she gave us a 20% discount!!! This just made us all so happy. Free parking. Great service and food. Lovely surroundings outside patio with big palm trees and the hotel pool area next to it. Bar was surrounded by happy people and everyone enjoying themselves. We will certainly be back. So lovely there and such great food and service!! Five star treatment!!! Handicapped spots right in front for mom and me made it so so easy to get in and sit down. They take reservations but we didnt need them. Plenty of seats were available.

Chimichurri steak, subbed the fingerling potatoes for tots, and had a Lychee martini.... All amazing! And great staff.

Sadly have to downgrade my review as management has decided to 1) severely curtail their once amazing menu 2) stop allowing you to order from the Daily Grill and 3) remove menus altogether so now you get a QR code on your table that my phone couldn't even read along with an annoying cocktail menu holder you can't remove so now you can't put plates flat on the table if you ordered more than one thing. This would be a three star review except for their one remaining flatbread is still stellar (if overpriced) and their amazing server Josh is FANTASTIC. This guy is a gem. If he wasn't there I probably would've left this place in a very foul mood, especially for how much I paid but this guy was worth every penny because of how comfortable and understanding he was with our group (especially after we were told they ran out of all draft beers??? And our side fries were literally a tiny bowl????) Anyway, Josh deserves everything but I probably won't come back until the management reverses their dumb decisions. I'm so passionate because I used to be a huge fan and recommended this place to everyone. No more.

Was looking for a new Bar & Grille to go to today and found one on Yelp; EDB. Turns out it was semi-poolside, outside of the Marriott across from the Burbank Airport. Pretty good vibe, decent fare and not ridiculously overpriced menu. The shaded side of the bar was fully occupied and it was a nice day, so I sat in the other side; mistake! The sun was HOT AF though and I had to shower after I got home since I melted. It's a hotel, so they probably stay fairly busy, but the staff seemed a little overwhelmed today, but also handled it professionally. As stated. It's at the Marriott, so there is a pay lot with tons of parking, but the bar does validate making it free!

Food was great, drinks were tasty. Service was ok. The guys probably would have ordered at least two more drinks each if the bartender asked. The place is cute. It's pretty much an outdoor bar restaurant. Parking is validated so it's a great place to stop in before your flight at Burbank airport. The spinach salad was amazing, and the guys really enjoyed their food as well.

Gregory is sooooo sweet. U is awesome. Honestly everyone is just so nice here! The food is tasty. I've gotten the poke wrap a couple of times and the wings are good. Fries are nice. The ambience is fun and inviting because it's outside across from the pool and comes alive at night with the live music.

I enjoyed this restaurant when I was staying at the Los Angeles Burbank, Marriott. It is conveniently located on the other side of the pool. It has access from the hotel and also from the parking lot. Open to hotel guests and general public. I was happy after a busy work day to just chill at the open air restaurant for a while without having to go out for dinner. It's mainly a drink, small bite bite and banter stop. I had pita with toasted cauliflower with humus. The food was ok. The pita could have been more fresh. I ate the humus and cauliflower. More nonveg options.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it

I fell in love before i even saw the menu. Now don't even get me started on that world class water. Best water I've ever consumed. Perfectly cold and delectably drinkable. They have a whole freaking sign for their sauces and dips. I'm in love. I got a Shirley temple and if i could marry a place instead of a person, the Shirley temple would be my reason. It was FANTASTIC. Our server, Isaiah, was absolutely amazing and on top of things, refilling our water before we even hit half glass. Not to mention his energy and vibe was so welcoming and fun. We got the PuPu platter for two, came out within minutes, I could spend the rest of my life eating that alone. Isaiah recommended his favorite sauces, Garlic Chive and Chipotle Citrus, they were amazing. We got the shrimp and lobster roll, I officially entered heaven. The Isles of Club sandwich was the finishing touch that had me laughing from joy. Near the end of our dining we meant Max, another server, who is absolutely fantastic, brought us everything we needed, boxes, sauce containers, bags, to-go dessert. His energy was also amazing and super fun. Now some extra things to note: -I'm not a big mac salad girly, but holy moly guacamole i loved their Mac salad. -anything tempura/fried in this place is heaven itself -their fries are perfect -the vibe is beyond life you might start crying in joy -be ready to want to buy everything on the menu and then some -I downloaded yelp just to leave this review Overall, Broken Compass Tiki is the perfect place for everyone. Broken Compass Tiki is a pirate themed tiki bar in Burbank…read more They don't having a parking lot, but it was very easy to find street parking just around the corner on a Sunday afternoon. The front of the building is a little vaguely marked, and the entrance has speakeasy vibes, which was a surprise. Upon walking in the front door, there is some tiki décor and a small counter in the rear. I remember thinking to myself "what the heck, this is it?". I checked in at the host stand on the left, and was handed me a boarding pass. She then led us through a hidden door behind what looked like a shipping crate. We were now in the real Broken Compass. The interior is a good size. The two-sided bar seats around a dozen. There is a lounge side of the bar that has two large booths along the wall, and another area with comfortable looking couches and lounge chairs. The main dining room has some tiki hut booths, and two sections of tables with half booth and half chair. The décor is pretty extensive with a good mix of pirate, nautical, and tiki themes. There is a lot of bamboo, thatch, rope, cargo netting, skulls and skeletons, port holes, octopus tentacles, jellyfish, tiki lights, and more. The ceiling is dark with various nautical and pirate markings, and even tied up ship sails overhead. The tiki hut booths have the parrots from the enchanted tiki room above them. Even the two restrooms are nautical themed, with beach and marine sounds playing. There is a lot of great décor to look at. We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy yet. By the time we left a few hours later, it was starting to get busy. We decided to sit at the bar. We started out with the buffalo cauliflower ($14) for an afternoon snack. The serving size was generous, and the buffalo sauce had a good tang. It was served with some sauces, and was surprisingly filling. A nice feature of the cocktail menu is that each drink displays one to three compass stars to indicate the strength of the drink. Their cocktails use a great variety of liquors including ones you don't often see. Many of the ingredients are made in-house. I started out with Chupacabra's Vacation (Demerara Rum, Jamacian Rum, Pomegranate Reduction, Cinnamon, Lime Juice, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $17). It is served with a flaming lime on top and a little fire show. It was balanced with a light booziness, some light pomegranate flavor, and a cinnamon sprinkle on top. She started out with the Bittersweet Paradise (Jamacian Rum, White Rum, Campari, Passionfruit Syrup, Lemon, Lime, Pineapple, two-star boozy rank, $18). It didn't drink boozy at all, and was passion fruit forward, with light bitterness. My second cocktail was the Bermuda Dune Buggy (Gin, Overproof Rum, Kumquat Liqueur, Cassis, Orange, Lime, Bitters, two-star boozy rank, $18). It had a very unique garnish of a Chartreuse infused gummy which was delicious. The drink was nicely balanced, and didn't really drink boozy even with overproof rum in it. They have a rotating monthly cocktail and she tried the Tropic Like It's Hot (Coconut Washed Lemongrass Infused Rum, Mango, Lemon, Coconut Water, Amaro, $17) which was created by one of our bartenders Daniel. It was served in a Spam can and was light and refreshing with a nice pop of fruit at the start, and a very nice coconut flavor. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and had great conversation with our bartenders Daniel and Monica. They also provided excellent service. Broken Compass supports payment with the InKind app which gives you 20% back (10% on Friday and Saturday) in InKind cash. We had a really great time here, and the drinks, food, décor, and atmosphere were excellent. I purchased a Hork (Horse-shaRK) mug for $50 to bring home as a souvenir. We would definitely return again when in the area.
