Bua Siam Fried Whole Trout Fish
Fateha A.

4/5 "Bua Siam Fried Whole Trout Fish: Fried whole trout fish topped with fried onion, pieces lime, dry shrimp, ginger, lemongrass peanuts and special spicy sauce." Got this w/o peanuts. Got a bunch of cilantro & lettuce instead of fried onion & dry shrimp. The fish was good, very crispy & flaky. They gave 3 sauces: 3/5 a soy sauce packet 3/5 lemon onion oil- way too much oil, a different base instead of oil wuda been better, tastes great otherwise 3/5 special spicy sauce- hella spicy for me Excellent service, employee was so friendly even tho I was just picking up. Wish we had time to dine in, but they were closing soon.

Spicy curry chicken panang and crab Rangoon with a Thai iced tea
Christine S.

Was craving Thai food and it was my first time ordering chicken, curry pug and crab Rangoon's from this place and I must tell you it's out of this world! Best Thai spot thus far!

Egg Rolls
Leslie B.

Ordered here for lunch over Door dash, not sure if that was the reason why my noodles were dry,but they didn't have much flavor. I also got the egg rolls there were ok. Last for desert I got the mango sticky rice probably the best part but still underwhelming, the coconut glaze was a little watery. Over all I've had better Thai food in this area. Might have to try it fresh from the restaurant.

This place is under new ownership and I must admit the changes are great. I love the colored walls and decorative changes. I was pleased to see the old fountain was gone too. The food is still good if not better and the service was great.

Is this chicken. It's so dry and hard. I knock it and it makes noises.

I like mee krob And get it often at places. Today I had Uber Eats bring it. As Om Home fighting cancer. First don't package something sticky with tin foil. Some of the aluminum is stuck. Can't hear it with the foil. Now the few proteins are so unbelievably dried if I tried to bite I would break a Tooth. I mean like dog bones. The two shrimp and a few pieces of I think Chicken. It was inedible Haven't had the soup yet I ordered. But so far this has to be thrown away.

Tom Yum Noodle Soup Thai Iced Coffee (that is what I call a LARGE size)
Denny H.

First and foremost, they do true Thai level spicy So if you are even remotely on the fence, I would highly suggest you go milder and add spice as you need! I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and it was delicious. Personal preference, it might be just a tad sweeter than I like but overall it was great! All the ingredients added A wonderful mishmash of flavors and textures so it broke up any possible monotony of flavor. I ordered a mild just to be on the safe side and boy am I glad I did! It was just on the border of a little much. I usually go for medium in many other spots. I would also take an initial scoop of soup by itself to prep yourself so you don't cough on the fumes hahaha. It was delicious and a decent size! I also ordered a large iced Thai coffee to go with it and Now that is what I call a large! It was delicious as well! I drink some of it today and poured some of it in my thermos double walled bottle to enjoy for tomorrow! Service was great! She was so so very nice! Had an overall great experience. Hole in the wall style, but I kind of like that!

Ask the Community - Bua Siam

Is it halal?

No it isn't if you don't eat food prepared on surfaces that had pork cut up on it. If that doesn't bother you, there are plenty of vegetarian dishes or dishes that can be made vegetarian.

Does this place have gluten free options? Thanks!

Curries and rice noodle dishes are usually gluten-free. Just ask them for dishes that don't contain soy sauce. Papaya salad and fried rice with deep fried catfish all shredded up are gluten free.

First things, they ONLY accept cash. That needs to be updated on their Yelp for certain…read more It's a pleasant restaurant with a pleasant staff, all Thai workers who seem to know their stuff. Space seems clean, not too loud, intimate but open. It's good for going solo, with a date, comfortable with 4, and with up to 8 people (10 might be alright). I'd say 30-50 is their max capacity in here. Their customer service is on point, especially for this city, and they seem earnest in helping as opposed to squeezing every dime out of you. Prices are "LA" reasonable (not this one $ "cheap" like people say) meaning you're not walking out without dropping $18-20; I'd say $$ for anywhere else. I got the seafood curry with rice (make sure the rice isn't extra). Thai tea is good... it's Thai tea. Medium spicy is plenty for someone who likes some heat but wants no part of fiery heat. Beware ye who dislike spice - Thai food is spicy at its best. The fish doesn't seem to have bones, but I checked anyway. The bamboo spice is not exactly edible, if you catch my drift. Approach this place like you would in Thailand. That said, the food was delicious.

I tried their Pad Thai (with chicken), Green Curry (veggie) and Kao Pad with pork (Fried Rice). I thought their curry was overpriced for the amount and not serve with rice. Pad Thai was too sweet for me personally. And the Kai pad dish was just okay. Nothing really stellar that would urge me to come back and try it again. Sweet ladies working as servers and ambience is non existent. If you sit near the kitchen, you may get hit by the spices in the air and make you cough. Limited parking in the lot but nearby street parking can also be found. Bring cash. Cash only establishment.

I asked that the pad woon sen to not be made spicy and what happened? Somebody in your kitchen didn't read their notes, and made it so spicy I couldn't even eat the food. For $17? Someone didn't have the common decency to read the notes and then sent this out thinking it was OK, does nobody double check the orders there? Obviously not... The shrimp rolls, not crispy. They were actually only halfway cooked and extremely greasy, that's really a turn off... The seafood soup, my friend said was acceptable.. Definitely had better.. Now to mention the insult of having to wait an hour for the food delivery which I wouldn't have minded if it had been good food. All I have to say is WOW, tell me please how do you got 4 1/2 stars on yelp? We were first time customers tonight - we adore Thai Food and if we got what we thought we were going to get - we would've been happy. But instead, this was very sloppy cooking from your chefs. You honestly need to do some quality control over there.!! Very disappointed and your cooks should be ashamed to call themselves chefs of any kind!

Every visit feels nostalgic but also exciting because the food just keeps getting better. And don't even get me started on the beef jerky--absolute must-order, packed with flavor and insanely addictive. It's rare to see a longtime neighborhood spot grow and improve this consistently. Krua Thai isn't just good for the memories--it's genuinely top-tier Thai food now. If you've been coming here for years or it's your first time, you won't be disappointed.

Another Yelper commented that this place was lackluster. Well he nailed it on the coffin. First off, it was hard to find now since it's in a strip mall where all other shops are now permanently closed. Well at least you know parking is no longer a problem here unlike back in the days when you would be lucky to find a parking on the street. Ordered a noodle dish that was supposed to have duck. No duck flavor in the broth and it came out looking like ramen noodles instead of egg noodles and the broth was so bland. Usually, a Thai boat noodle soup would have a rich, beef, savory flavored broth with flavors of herbs and spices. This was bland and took a bit of "doctoring" up with condiments in order to make it taste decent. The beef pad see ew did not have that unique IFYKYK taste you would expect from cooking on a hot, fiery wok. We happened to be driving back home but wanted to get Thai food on the way home. What i should've done is drive a few miles further and ate at the Wat Thai temple. Everything we ate here cost almost freaking $85 dollars including a Thai iced tea and a Sprite with the colored syrup. Save your money and go to Wat Thai for a tastier, food experience.

Since this place popped up first and had "Thai BBQ" in the name, I saw BBQ and thought cool let's try. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from the very beginning. The service was not good. The server and I had trouble understanding each other, so there was definitely a language barrier making it harder to communicate. She also didn't seem familiar with the menu since she couldn't answer basic questions. Just ordering was very frustrating. The tables didn't look properly cleaned either, which I should have taken as a red flag. As for the food, it just didn't do it for me. The peanut sauce was extremely watery. The garlic short ribs were honestly the worst part. They tasted undercooked and not good. I took one bite and I didn't want any more. We ended up eating mostly rice just to feel full. The shrimp dish was also disappointing. When we asked for something spicy, we were basically directed to the chili already on the table. The dish itself was mostly green beans with maybe 6 or 7 pieces of shrimp, and the shrimp tasted very basic. I also ordered the spicy beef combo plate, which came with steamed rice, but it wasn't spicy at all. I had to add a ton of chili just to get some flavor. The beef was probably the best part of the meal, but even that was just okay. Overall, I regret not checking the reviews beforehand because it definitely reflected the experience we had. I don't see either of us coming back.
