    30. Rad Nah AND Thai Tea (ALL TO GO)
    Ohana C.

I've came here a few times. They're pretty good! Although, I would not recommend the Pad Thai. In my opinion I feel like it needs improvement. I have had better places that serves Pad Thai. Yesterday, when I ordered with Baan Thai, they were super busy!! Good for them. I'm happy for them. I ordered Raad Nah noodles. Super delicious. One of my favorites since I was a kid. They make it just like how my grandma would make it. The ladies who worked yesterday worked suuupper hard. They were attentive to every guest and made sure everyone's needs were met. Prices are great too! Would def come back!!

For starters we accidentally ordered steamed gyoza instead of fried. The lady taking our order didn't specify what we wanted. Kinda realized a little too late. Honestly still would've preferred fried over steamed. Pad Kra pow was delicious. Nice portion of chicken and rice. the lunch special pepper ck came with a nice side salad. portion or was standard for the price. Service was a bit slow that being that we were the only people dining in.

Best place ever. My go to for Thai. Great food, environment and amazing staff. I definitely recommend as the food is delicious, hot and served with a smile. Now they are open until midnight for takeout so will I will be getting that (a lot) now

**What could improve? Everything.** I used to frequent this place for years, but once Covid hit, it slipped my mind completely. The food was always great back then, and even with the 18% service fee, I didn't mind because the quality made it worth it. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. Today, after years, I had a craving and decided to place a to-go order. I spent $54 on a soup, orange chicken, and pad see ew, but none of the dishes were edible. The orange chicken was incredibly dry, and the pad see ew was downright disgusting with tough, undercooked meat. The soup was tiny and mostly broth not even the seafood itself. Adding to the frustration, I wasn't given a receipt--just the $54 charge. This seemed steep for just three items, but I didn't question it at the time, considering it's a small mom-and-pop shop with only a few tables. This once beloved restaurant has taken a severe downturn in both food quality and service. My $54 felt completely wasted on an inedible meal.

The food is delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone is very friendly. Try the Thai tea!

My favorite lunch takeout combo! The place is homey on the inside, you'd have to see for yourself to know what I mean. I can't wait to take my friends to dine in!

One of the best food I tasted! Everything we got and ordered are superb!!!! I will definitely come back! The staff is very accommodating and kind! The service is great! The place is homey and cozy. I recommend this place fully! 5 stars!!!

I should have tried Baan Thai years ago. The restaurant has been on the same corner for a few years now. My bff lives down the street and we would order to go from Baan Thai. I finally dined in for dinner. The Thai food here is super authentic. Thai restaurants are a dine a dozen here in North Hollywood and Baan Thai has some dishes you might not really find at other places in NOHO. We ate family style, a few dishes with some appetizers, ala carte dishes and soup. Their hot and sour soup with shrimp or fish (called Kang Som in Thai) is an acquired taste for non-Thais. Once you try it I think you'll love it, easy the soup with the rice. The shrimp cakes has tons of shrimp, not just flour, and lastly the fried fish with the apple salad was awesome. The fried fish was fresh and didn't smell like the ocean. I'm definitely coming back for lunch and dinner and authentic Thai food. The service was good, credit cards ok, and free parking.

    Is ban Thai open?

Yes! They close during the day for a couple of hours starting at 4:30 pm and re open at 5:30 I believe. They are closed on Tuesdays but other than that they are still operating only To Go orders. I've been a frequent dinner special flyer since COVID… Read more

I'd say 30-50 is their max capacity in here. Their customer service is on point, especially for this city, and they seem earnest in helping as opposed to squeezing every dime out of you. Prices are "LA" reasonable (not this one $ "cheap" like people say) meaning you're not walking out without dropping $18-20; I'd say $$ for anywhere else. I got the seafood curry with rice (make sure the rice isn't extra). Thai tea is good... it's Thai tea. Medium spicy is plenty for someone who likes some heat but wants no part of fiery heat. Beware ye who dislike spice - Thai food is spicy at its best. The fish doesn't seem to have bones, but I checked anyway. The bamboo spice is not exactly edible, if you catch my drift. I tried their Pad Thai (with chicken), Green Curry (veggie) and Kao Pad with pork (Fried Rice). I thought their curry was overpriced for the amount and not serve with rice. Sweet ladies working as servers and ambience is non existent. If you sit near the kitchen, you may get hit by the spices in the air and make you cough. Limited parking in the lot but nearby street parking can also be found. Bring cash. Cash only establishment.

Another Yelper commented that this place was lackluster. Well he nailed it on the coffin. First off, it was hard to find now since it's in a strip mall where all other shops are now permanently closed. Well at least you know parking is no longer a problem here unlike back in the days when you would be lucky to find a parking on the street. Ordered a noodle dish that was supposed to have duck. No duck flavor in the broth and it came out looking like ramen noodles instead of egg noodles and the broth was so bland. Usually, a Thai boat noodle soup would have a rich, beef, savory flavored broth with flavors of herbs and spices. This was bland and took a bit of "doctoring" up with condiments in order to make it taste decent. The beef pad see ew did not have that unique IFYKYK taste you would expect from cooking on a hot, fiery wok. We happened to be driving back home but wanted to get Thai food on the way home. What i should've done is drive a few miles further and ate at the Wat Thai temple. Everything we ate here cost almost freaking $85 dollars including a Thai iced tea and a Sprite with the colored syrup. Save your money and go to Wat Thai for a tastier, food experience.

Since this place popped up first and had "Thai BBQ" in the name, I saw BBQ and thought cool let's try. Unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience from the very beginning. The service was not good. The server and I had trouble understanding each other, so there was definitely a language barrier making it harder to communicate. She also didn't seem familiar with the menu since she couldn't answer basic questions. Just ordering was very frustrating. The tables didn't look properly cleaned either, which I should have taken as a red flag. As for the food, it just didn't do it for me. The peanut sauce was extremely watery. The garlic short ribs were honestly the worst part. They tasted undercooked and not good. I took one bite and I didn't want any more. We ended up eating mostly rice just to feel full. The shrimp dish was also disappointing. When we asked for something spicy, we were basically directed to the chili already on the table. The dish itself was mostly green beans with maybe 6 or 7 pieces of shrimp, and the shrimp tasted very basic. I also ordered the spicy beef combo plate, which came with steamed rice, but it wasn't spicy at all. I had to add a ton of chili just to get some flavor. The beef was probably the best part of the meal, but even that was just okay. Overall, I regret not checking the reviews beforehand because it definitely reflected the experience we had. I don't see either of us coming back.
