    Chicken Fried Rice
    Joe Z.

Everything was going good until I bit into a little piece of bone in the chicken fried rice. Totally ruined the rest of my meal. The service was attentive, and the interior was clean and comfortable. The beef satay and chicken noodles were good. I would probably go back and hope my experience with the bone was isolated, but I'm in no hurry. Parking gets really congested. The restaurant is in a busy strip mall.

Hands down the best Thai food I've ever tasted - affordable and delicious with friendly servers. Although we experienced slow service and had to request extra plates ourselves after waiting, the food made up for it.

We ordered fried calamari, when it came there was hair on it. We made the server aware and they made a new order AND THERE WAS HAIR AGAIN on the second order they gave us

Came in here ordered the shrimp fried rice. It came out to be fifteen dollars and some change. Service was pleasant and fast. Had my order within 10 minutes of ordering. It was to go. When i went in it was about 4:30 pm or 5 oclock. there were some people dining in, but i believe a lot of people prefer take out from this place. I have some experience with a few Thai bbq spots. This is my first time at this particular spot. it's off of woodman and Roscoe in the valley. It's in a plaza where there are a few different eateries and a supermarket. The fried rice was fresh to order. decent amount of shrimps throughout my plate. probably the only thing i don't like about this place is that it has carpet. other than that my first time here was cool. again didnt dine in but still enjoyed the food i ordered. Give them a try if you're craving some thai food!!! peace!!

Best value for Thai food ANYWHERE. Thai food is generally expensive. Why? It's almost no different from Chinese ingredients. Thai BBQ just had good, hearty food at good prices. The lunch special? Can't beat it. Half a chicken and rice for about $15. You'll spend more than that on a value meal at McDonalds. The service? Who cares if it's slow. That lady is busting her butt. I wish they had an Original Thai BBQ is Sac. The satay beef is awesome. The dinner plate comes with shrimp. If i had this is my area, I would be there multiple times per week.

I got the lunch special half of chicken

I enjoyed my lunch special so much! Salad 1/2 a chicken and rice hit the spot and the rice isn't mexican. If ykyk! Craving it 1 week later . Service was good. Didn't bother us

    Dearest Crab.....you are awesome.
    Eric P.

Great spot. Chill inside with an aquarium to greet you. Feels comforting whenever we come to dine in. Be prepared though, the parking in this plaza can get crazy busy and the parking spots are too close for comfort. We usually get the Dearest Crab. Nice crunchy outside and inside full of meat. And the sweet orange sauce is bomb. The Thai Iced Tea is also a good choice. The owner is nice and always hooks it up.

Thai Bbq Spare Ribs Lunch Special

Came here for their lunch special. I ate the whole thing! Very flavorful and ribs were cooked perfect. Service was really nice. He checked on me often and filled my water without asking. Would come back again. Also restaurant was clean, not noisy and plenty of parking available. :)

First time at this location, I've been to the one in DTLA. This location is in a busy strip mall but has dedicated parking. It can be tight during certain times so just beware. I phoned in our order but since it had been some years since I ate here, I accidentally ordered the wrong protein for my hubby's phad thai but they fixed it when I got there! The man at the counter was very nice about it and I appreciated him making it right. I made sure to grab the to-go menu so I won't make any mistakes next time. My drunken noodles were better than I remembered and I'll order this dish again. I'll pass on the fried wonton because they were just ok. The BBQ chicken was tasty as well so all in all a good experience! Thank you Thai BBQ! I'll be back!

(At a rib joint, the nerve) but it wasn't my plate so oh well. First note this is a pick up spot only there is an ordering counter that no more than 4 people can be in at a time. The street is super dark and desolate looking it feels like an industrial area think City of Industry. There's no parking well there's one spot to park for pick up. The street parking is filled with what looked like broken down type cars the four I seen had chalk writing like tow yards do. To the food!!! Ordered 2 two meat meals that come with 2 sides. Not a piece of bread or muffin was included. Please notice the dry @$$ pulled pork? and I got 4 pieces of a rib tip that was the same as 1 maybe 2 real tips ANYWHERE else.the tips were chopped into 2-4 pieces from one full tip. So I really feel cheated and I was frigging hungry -hungry. The pork was dry and couldn't be swallowed without the bbq sauce and drink. She ordered a hot link with ribs and added a side of ribs for an additional $24. The sides came in a small container I had Mac n cheese and greens which every bite I was like wish I had cornbread to add to these greens. While she had greens and the sweet potato (which by the way was the best thing they had going on) the Mac was average I'm about to reheat and toast again before I hit send for this review. Reheated the side of ribs, greens and Mac and it's a bit better than the pulled pork, but this definitely isn't a bbq spot I'd advise anyone to go to nor would I dare try without bbq sauce and a lot of it. Dessert banana pudding last time I was here the desserts were pretty good. This tasted like the yoplait whips yogurts consistency and like knock of Nila wafers I was just sooo utterly disappointed.

My friend got the Wings & Fries Combo, $23.15 and I decided on the 3-Bone Meal Deal, $24.25. The Wings & Fries come with your choice of seasoning and she got the garlic-Parmesan - which she liked a lot. Her wings were tender and tasty with the traditional in-house sauce. This also came with a soft drink, water or bottled iced tea. The 3-Bone Meal Deal, comes with 3 super tender pork ribs and your choice of sauce. This is fork tender! The traditional bbq sauce is quite tasty! This combo comes with two sides, I got the Mac n' cheese - yummy, but there was, weirdly, corn in it. Also got the pineapple coleslaw which is just so-so - very mild and not much flavor. I ordered the unsweetened pure leaf iced tea. We were both satisfied with the service- the gentleman was standing out in the sun in the parking lot -waiting for me to drive up. Thank you! We would order from Belly Rubb again when in the area and in the mood for awesome BBQ.

Unfortunately, it was another disappointment. To be fair, they were busy, and I understand that a full restaurant can put pressure on both the kitchen and the front-of-house staff. But being busy should never be an excuse for poor food quality, inconsistent service, or a lack of standards. We ordered the beef ribs, pork spareribs, and brisket. The portions were definitely generous, but the quality was simply not there. The brisket looked like it had been pre-sliced and left sitting in a pool of grease and juices. (as I asked the Server she did confirm this was true. ) It fell apart, yes, but not in the way great brisket should. It lacked the richness, balance, and true smoked flavor that good barbecue is known for. Instead of tasting freshly sliced and properly held, it felt tired and over-rested. The beef ribs were tough, and the pork spareribs were extremely dry almost like chewing on cardboard. That was probably the most disappointing part of the meal. For a place that has built its identity around barbecue, there was very little real smoke flavor in the meats. That alone says a lot. The barbecue sauce had decent flavor, although it was a bit runny for my taste. The barbecue beans, on the other hand, were actually delicious and one of the few highlights of the meal. Then there was the bread. We were told it was "half a loaf," but it was really just a very small piece, closer to the size of a bun. On top of that, the bottom was soggy, like it had been sitting too long on a steam table or in trapped moisture. The service was slow. The girls working were clearly busy and trying, but it did not feel like anyone was guiding them with real standards of service or hospitality. There is a difference between being overwhelmed and being untrained, and this felt more like a lack of leadership and structure. I also asked to speak with the chef. One server told me she would go get him and that he was there. Then another server said he was not there. That kind of inconsistency only added to the frustration and made the whole experience feel even less professional. I respect that this restaurant has been around since 1969, and longevity does mean something. But being around a long time does not automatically make a place great. In my opinion, they should not be pushing the idea that they are among the best barbecue spots in the country, because based on this experience, that is nowhere near reality. This is not even close to the quality standard of a true Texas barbecue spot. I was also disappointed by the overall condition and cleanliness of the property. I understand the idea of maintaining an old-school feel, but there is a line between rustic charm and an environment that simply does not feel sanitary or well-kept. To me, it felt like the latter. What makes this experience especially disappointing is that they clearly have the history, the name, and likely the resources to do much better. I do not mind paying for quality, but I do mind paying for quantity when the quality is missing. That is exactly what this felt like. I sincerely wish them continued success, but we will not be coming back.

Having Martin and his team cooking on-site was a key part of our vision, so much so that we specifically searched across Los Angeles and surrounding areas to find a venue that could accommodate their setup requirements, including the 7-hour preparation time and outdoor space they needed. Leading up to the event, MFA was great, they were responsive, communicative, and easy to work with. Unfortunately, our experience on the wedding day was very different. We later learned that Martin had threatened to leave midway through cooking, which was extremely concerning. Additionally, both our venue staff and other catering staff mentioned that MFA was difficult to work with that day. While the food itself was excellent, the service fell short of what was promised. Our contract included two courses: First course: ribs, sausage, chicken, empanadas, and salads Second course: tri-tip/steak The second course was never properly served to our guests. When guests returned for the steak, they were told service was over and staff had already begun cleaning up. Some guests even tried requesting steak during the first course and were denied. To our knowledge, only maybe one or two guests were able to receive steak after insisting. We had also rented chafing dishes so that leftover food could be made available later in the evening. However, only chicken and salads were placed out, no beef. We didn't realize the extent of this issue until the day after the wedding. When we went to retrieve leftovers, we found multiple full trays of food, including large portions of uncut steak and ribs. There was clearly more than enough food to serve all guests the second course, yet it was never distributed. Many guests later told us the food was amazing--some of the best wedding food they've had--but also shared disappointment that they never received the advertised beef course. This was especially frustrating since our menu cards specifically instructed guests to "save room" for it. After the event, we learned that Martin had a planned medical procedure the following day. While we understand personal circumstances arise, it felt like the service was cut short so the team could leave early. This resulted in an estimated $2,000 worth of food going to waste, food that could have been served, offered to guests to take home, or at minimum communicated to us. Overall, while the food quality was outstanding, the execution and service on the day of the event were deeply disappointing and did not meet expectations for a wedding of this scale (160 guests).
