First timer. Friendly service and clean atmosphere. This place is cash only. Ordered chow mein, pad se ew and pad Thai. All three tasted good but the pad se ew with pork really stood out. The egg rolls were my least favorite. read more

Been coming to this restaurant since I was a little girl. The food is delicious. The 7 sea food soup is the best I've ever had. Don't understand the bad reviews because this spot always hits! read more

Nice variety of meat, seafood & vegetarian dishes, lot of seating. Want to give kudos to our spectacular server Arnu who went above and beyond, despite being rushed off his feet and seemingly doing the job of two or three. Give that man a raise! Mega size Thai iced tea hit the spot. Will definitely visit again. Thanks for making our trip an enjoyable one. read more

This is probably one of the best Thai food restaurants I've ever been to. These chain of restaurants are so dear to my heart. From heartbreak to success, I've always come here and the staff are always so wonderful to me. I really feel like I'm going to a friends home and them cooking their most amazing dishes. Seafood soup is a must when you come here! Pork jerky, you'll never find anything like it! Shrimp fried rice, is practically a necessity on ever dish Don't even get me started on the Thai iced tea, it's so refreshing and addicting! Thank you so much Noy (owner) bad ass female boss, for opening up your doors to us. We need this restaurant! It makes the world a better place, for real! Loooooove you Vims!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I've been going to Vim's since 1987. They were originally on 8th and Vermont, then they opened their flagship location on Hollywood Blvd near Normandie (Thai Town). I have been to most of the other locations but I frequently go to the location in Arleta because it's closer to my home. The food is incredible and freshly prepared to order. I enjoy it so much that I've had a large birthday party there and it's our go-to eatery for our group celebrations! It's nothing fancy and truly a family atmosphere. Food is served family style in large platters It always has been cash only and worth every penny. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do! read more

It's my second time in this place, but this time I found some hairs on top of my egg rolls. But the food is okay I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that this was just an isolated incident. read more

Our Favorite Spot for Beef Fried Rice! My boyfriend and I have been coming to this Thai restaurant for a couple of years now, and their beef fried rice is hands down our favorite! It's consistently delicious, with big portions that are perfect for sharing (or having leftovers). The best part is that it's super affordable, so we feel like we're getting great value for the price. If you're craving some tasty Thai food with generous servings, this place won't disappoint! read more

Best Thai food restaurant I've ever been to! I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you are in the mood for Thai food. The service is always amazing, they constantly make sure if you need anything else which I personally love. The ambiance is amazing as well, very cozy I love it!! read more

the extra. Let it go one more time today in my family wanted to eat Thai so of course I recommended this place because although my past experiences they do have good food. This time around we're a party of 13 OK we understand you're gonna add the tip but when adding a tip onto the bill you should still be able to perform excellent customer service. They did not come to our table once to see if we were OK or we needed anything else I had to get up myself and ask for more food which then my husband got up to pay for the bill while waiting for the rest of the food they come to us and said they canceled the extra order since we had already paid? Excuse me how does that make sense? We already paid for the food they said no we canceled it and we never charged you for the remaining of the food. Like are you serious? What kind of service is this and if there's a language barrier maybe they should get someone that actually knows how to speak English and understand proper English. This is ridiculous and not OK. read more

Best Thai food in the Valley hands down!!! It's cash only! So you know it's gonna be legit!!!

Firstly, the service was very great. We got our food after waiting not even 10 minutes. The portions were incredible for the price, we left full and the plate looked untouched. Very yummy and we will be coming back! A bonus is they also played really good music! We recommend the noodles and fried rice :) read more

Service here is horrendous! The only female that works here is horrible with customer service! Make sure you check your bill because they add tip to it and if you check you double tip and they will not tell you. Poor poor customer service. read more

Well we gave it a tried , and rice did not have flavor, soups like 7 seas no flavor , wonton soup no flavor . Don't know if they swap or have new cooks but very disappointing flavor . Will probably won't be in some time soon . I'm a customer since probably 1998 in the original Los Angeles location . read more

My husband introduce me to this place. We would go to the one on Hollywood. Since they started opening more Vim's the closest one to us is Arleta. We have 20 years of coming and enjoying the food here. We always get the 7 sea soup which is delicious, the fried rice, chicken sauté and the BBQ beef. My kids love the flavorful food, it's their favorite. The service here has always been pleasant. We have had some issues here and there but the food is too good to stop going. Some of the employees are also super nice and it compensates and we keep going to Vims. This place is a must try. read more

Disappointed by how horribly the servers here have treated my family at our most recent visit to Vim. My family has been loyal customers for YEARS, but the customer service was ABYSMAL. Server claimed that my family did not pay for the bill despite giving them the cash. Servers talked back to us when we told them we had given them the money and took almost an hour for them to give us the change after "reviewing the cameras." They also count babies as a whole person in the tip BTW! The absolute worse people work at this place and I'm incredibly disappointed. I will no longer be returning here! Everyone reading this review should eat somewhere else or you might have to learn the hard way and deal with this situation yourself with them claiming that you didn't pay. read more

What a wonderful restaurant the food was so great. I love it. I love it. I definitely will come again.

Have been coming here for a while now. Food is very good and staff are always attentive. Ambience is great and they always play cool songs!

Sad service and ambiance. Almost no options for vegetarians. Food was mediocre at best.

Paw see ew seafood was great The person attending stopped what he was doing when I explained that my mother had a doctor's appointment and that if he could attend us quickly, the food tasted excellent and the service was perfect. It is a simple restaurant but we ate well, with tranquility and the flavor of the food was excellent Thanks God read more

Not bad but nothing special. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. Vim's isn't in the best part of town, but that's beside the point. What I'm concerned about is the food. We ordered a handful of dishes. The ka na (Chinese broccoli) with crispy pork was on the sweeter side and the pieces of pork were extremely fatty. The chicken fried rice was bland as was the beef fried rice. At least the portions were large for the fried rice. By far, the best dish was the pork jerky. The sauce for it was delicious. The restaurant is small but they were able to accommodate our party of 13. The service was good and the food is inexpensive. It's a cash only joint, but that's not a big deal. I just wish the food tasted better. read more

Just recently opened (I think) for this location. I usually go to the Hollywood location. And after a cold round of golf nearby, the group was hungry that evening. Where better to go then Vim?! This location is surrounded by all the Latino moms and pops establishments, so you'll have to look closely to find it. Small location, so most of the time you'll be waiting for the table. We don't usually get the "seafood soup" or the "shrimp fried rice" like the other patrons, but we go for the more yummy traditional THAI dishes. Good service, clean restaurant, good and tasty food! My only con to this Vim location is that it is small and it's CASH ONLY. Good food!!! read more

I've been coming to this place for years, however lately they have been changing hours without notice or closing dining at 8 when they actually closed the restaurant at 10pm. The new Hispanic girl has a huge attitude and is very unprofessional. She was so rude and disrespectful upon my visit today. Based on her customer service I'm giving this a one star. In a restaurant world there is the primary thing which is customer service. Of course you have really bad clients, which I am not one. I was just asking questions as to when they implemented the new dine in hours etc. i kindly asked her as of when did the new hours changed and she sarcastically looked at me like I was dumb and said " since a long time ago" I said I was just here three weeks ago. She said you were I didn't see you. So therefore I am writing this and hopefully the boss does some training I her. read more
