I ordered the campechana kora, and my husband had the Aguachiles, both were absolutely delicious and perfect for the heat. What really made the experience special was the staff. They were so kind, patient, and welcoming. My husband has been practicing his Spanish, and instead of making him feel self-conscious, they were incredibly encouraging and sweet with him. It made the whole meal feel even more authentic and enjoyable. Great food, wonderful service, and an atmosphere that makes you forget you're just minutes from home. I was looking for highly rated seafood restaurants on Yelp, and this restaurant was on the list. After reading the reviews, I got excited to give it a try. Parking was easy to find, which was a plus. The ambiance was casual, relaxed, and family-friendly. They have multiple TVs throughout the restaurant, and during my visit, they were showing a soccer game. I always like it when a restaurant broadcasts sporting events, even if it means the place sometimes gets very packed. I was really looking forward to trying their shrimp ceviche, but to my disappointment, they had run out by the time I arrived. I decided to go with my backup option instead: the camarones a la diabla. Camarones a la diabla is a dish consisting of shrimp cooked in a spicy red chile sauce. This restaurant also serves it with rice, toast, and a side of vegetables. As the name suggests, the shrimp are supposed to be spicy. As a spice enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for the best spicy dishes. The shrimp were cooked well, but they had a sweet taste. It almost seemed as if they had used ketchup in the sauce to tone down the heat. I'm honestly not a fan of mixing sweet with spicy, at least when it comes to protein. The vegetables that came with the dish were soggy and flavorless. The rice was okay but could have been better. The toast was pretty good, it was buttery, garlicky, and crispy. Overall, this dish wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the best. The service during my visit was good. My server was attentive and helpful. He frequently stopped by to check if everything was okay. Ceviche tostada Marlin - I was really impressed with the flavor, texture and definitely different style of ceviche I've had. This was a hot ceviche almost stew like but it was really good. It's in a tomato and onion and maybe a light or less picante sauce. Really good. Aguachile tostada - Aguachile is my absolute favorite. If memory serves me right I believe last time it was heavy on the cilantro within the jugo or broth its in. This time was perfect. Great heat level. Good amount of onion and pepino. Portion for the price was excellent. Definitely going to have to keep coming here just for this. Pepino con limon agua - Light, not too sweet very refreshing. Got all this to go all for around $22. I enjoyed this spot very much. It's hidden in a little shopping center next to Baskin Robins. It's a smaller restaurant but they come through with the food. I like their patio. It feels homey! They also a few tables for inside dining. They have music playing while they have sporting events playing on tv's. Honorable mentions: Ceviche de camarón- it had great flavor, didn't need any condiments. It was perfect the way it was cook (in lime). Mojara frita- hit the stop. Wasn't over fried and came with a little salad. Michelada- they have a unique flavor and were not messy to drink. Honestly, one of the best I've had in a while. I absolutely love that they had caguamas (32 oz beers) Moises, owner, was amazing and provided the Kora hospitality. We closed down the spot and were not rushing us to leave.
