Near 99 Ranch across the street, there are two pho places, this location and Pho So 1. Unfortunately, I can recommend neither. Service is as expected - fast seating, fast ordering, fast arrival. The staff are efficient. I had their #54 (Bun Bo Thit Nuong) - charboiled beef and rice vermicelli. (Cold dishes are my preference for summer.) The dish came as usual, with the fish sauce on the side to add to one's liking. There was a good portion of beef, but it tasted pretty tough, almost as if it were already premade and tasted quite rubbery. Thankfully, they were thin and chewable. After finishing the meal, payment is up front at the counter - the usual. If there's one thing I won't forget other than the meal, though, it's the water. They have a very big menu though with tons of other entrees so I just wanted to note that for my review I usually only order these 3 items: the #1 pho combo, the eggrolls, and the pork chop rice plate. The service is usually fast and you can expect a hot bowl of soup within 15 minutes. I also like to get the porkchop plate here and I really like how tender and crispy it tastes from the grill!!! The eggrolls are super hot, crispy and filled with filling. I always dine in rather than take the food for takeout. There's chopsticks, soup spoons, sauces on the table to help with eating. A proper snap-on lid, secure film seal, or even a quick double-check of the closure before handing over the order would have prevented the entire problem. The overall food quality is still high enough that I would consider returning for dine-in or for carefully inspected takeout orders. We came numerous of times before as well haha The food is always so good because we get pho. But I got just tea because of my fast and she got the shrimp pho which I helped her get out of her comfort zone and trying new things but that's her go to now haha especially when our daughter comes she always ask her mom for majority of her shrimp lol and I'm like here take my meat or take mines let your mom eat in peace haha The service is great they are fast, kind and the food comes out within minutes. I've been going all a lot of the Pho places in the area and thought this place nearby would be a good choice based on other ratings. However it did not live up to those ratings. The service wasn't the best and the food matched. When the waiter came to our table they stood behind me and didn't say anything so I had no idea they were waiting to take our order. I ordered the Marinated Chickenw ith fried rice. The chicken, while it had good marinade, was dry and over cooked. The fried rice also tasted unusual. My companion similarly wasn't thrilled about their order either. I rarely leave a place without eating most of my food or asking for the leftovers to go, here we simply left the food on the plates. When I went to pay I had to wait around for a while despite a large number of the staff just sitting out in the restaurant eatting oranges that sellers from outside came in and tried to sell to the restaurants customers. I don't expect anyone on their break or lunch to stop and get up to let me pay but I would expect that someone would've flagged down whoever was still on the clock to help me out. read more

Mixed meats of rare, fatty and lean cooked brisket. Tendon and tripe come in it too. The broth is tasty. Not too fatty but not lean. Just right. Fried egg rolls are decent. They changed up the wrapping as this one doesn't bubble up. Served with some wrap lettuce carrot cucumber and jicama. Spring rolls were large. Lots of lettuce. Cold pork or beef I think. The sauce is a bit thin but I think they give you too much of it. Instead of watering down the sauce and giving a lot why not give half of the portion but don't thin in it out. Service is quick. Got food via UberEats, however, delivery was stupid fast - faster than I've gotten with a lot of other places. Fried veggie egg rolls - somewhat crispy but filled with unidentifiable mush and totally lacking flavor. Even the dipping sauce was miserably bland. Lemongrass curry shrimp with fried rice - tiny shrimps in brown sauce (no lemongrass or curry flavor?). Fried rice was just egg and soy sauce, barely worth the upgrade price. Drowned this with soy sauce to give it some kind of flavor and it is still meh. And the saddest part of all... the vegetable pho. Broth arrived ice cold, which is surprisingly since I've gotten soups delivered from all over the SFV and they rarely come cooler than lukewarm. The broth was .01% "flavor" and the rest was just water. Even after dumping in hoisin, soy sauce, sriracha, basil, jalapeño, the fucking works!, this was bland as fuck. I paid an extra $3.50 for 4 sad shrimps as well. I'm so disappointed that I'm frying up egg rolls from Costco right now. Save yourself the money and disappointment and just go get Panda Express. Really disappointed when I came here today. It had been awhile since my last visit but when the pho craving hit and I realized this was on my way home I thought it was meant to be. I was feeling under the weather and so instead of the traditional beef pho I decided to order the chicken pho. First thing to go wrong was that I also requested extra noodles and broth; which their menu stated cost $3.50 extra which was fine by me. I pay, get my receipt and while I'm waiting they inform me that the $3.50 fee for the extra noodles and broth is for dine in. If I wanted that to go the price was actually $7.50. I didn't see anywhere in their menu stating that and not only that but that is a ridiculous up charge for the same item to go. So I cancelled it and just went with the regular chicken pho sans extra anything. Now I get home starving and excited to dig in. Well not only did the chicken broth lack color but it also didn't taste like anything. In fact the only hint of flavor I could get was sweet which was bizarre. The noodles were not the traditional ones; these were round and suuuuuper thin and not to mention there was barely any. The chicken was mediocre; no flavor and dry. I was left so unsatisfied with this soup. Maybe it was just their chicken one? Either way I'm never getting it again. This place is a good example of many food options, all not very good. We ordered a #1, #3, #22, #23 and #40. All of the Pho were bland and missing the normal spice flavor.
