Bbq Ribs, fries, cornbread and baked beans.
    Gina C.

This establishment was highly recommended to me. I ordered the 6 piece St Louis BBQ spareribs DELICIOUS as I ate the rib the meat fell off the bone. The baked beans, cornbread were also delicious. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. Eddy was very helpful and friendly. I am going to return and try the other menu items as well. So, come on by and have a wonderful meal either indoors or take out as well

After reminding my wife that this BBQ restaurant was in the same general vicinity of Pacoima as Nashville Hot Chicken, she brought a slab of beef ribs (8) home tonight, after passing through the area again. Great tasting ribs and sauce, and the cornbread and chili were decent. The greens on the other hand, not so much. Like "from a can" in her own words. We'll be back again, and give the macaroni and cheese, along with their coleslaw a try. The fries traveled the distance home okay, but probably much better eaten nearby. But this is more of a to-go place rather than dine in. There are several tables provided inside. On my bookmark list for several years now; finally a first sampling. Mini mall parking available.

It was ok. I was hungry. With the good reviews, I expected better. Spicy BBQ sauce had no flavor. Honestly if it wasn't a BBQ Restaurant, I wouldn't even say I would know I was eating BBQ. I review a lot of BBQ Restuarants and literally, I've never ever had it's just ok review. SMALL portions. I'm actually still hungry. More or a take out place.

Small BBQ restaurant, parking lot share with a few other shops. So far, I've only tried the Philly Cheesesteak. It's really good. Steak made to perfection, bread is toasted but still soft to the touch.

Pretty decent food for the price. I've tried the majority of bbq spots in the valley and this place is neither in the top 5 or bottom 5, they are right there in the middle. I ordered the bbq beef plate which had two sides, I chose fries with Mac and cheese. The plate came with 4 ribs, they were rubbed down with a good amount of bbq sauce, the fries were good, the Mac and cheese were pretty bad, all in all I do see myself coming back here to try out the other items on their menu

(At a rib joint, the nerve) but it wasn't my plate so oh well. First note this is a pick up spot only there is an ordering counter that no more than 4 people can be in at a time. The street is super dark and desolate looking it feels like an industrial area think City of Industry. There's no parking well there's one spot to park for pick up. The street parking is filled with what looked like broken down type cars the four I seen had chalk writing like tow yards do. To the food!!! Ordered 2 two meat meals that come with 2 sides. Not a piece of bread or muffin was included. Please notice the dry @$$ pulled pork? and I got 4 pieces of a rib tip that was the same as 1 maybe 2 real tips ANYWHERE else.the tips were chopped into 2-4 pieces from one full tip. So I really feel cheated and I was frigging hungry -hungry. The pork was dry and couldn't be swallowed without the bbq sauce and drink. She ordered a hot link with ribs and added a side of ribs for an additional $24. The sides came in a small container I had Mac n cheese and greens which every bite I was like wish I had cornbread to add to these greens. While she had greens and the sweet potato (which by the way was the best thing they had going on) the Mac was average I'm about to reheat and toast again before I hit send for this review. Reheated the side of ribs, greens and Mac and it's a bit better than the pulled pork, but this definitely isn't a bbq spot I'd advise anyone to go to nor would I dare try without bbq sauce and a lot of it. Dessert banana pudding last time I was here the desserts were pretty good. This tasted like the yoplait whips yogurts consistency and like knock of Nila wafers I was just sooo utterly disappointed.

I didn't want the frills, I just wanted good food and that's what I got. I sat at a little table outside which was perfectly pleasant! The road wasn't too loud or anything. We hadn't visited since February, 2020. Before the pandemic might as well have been 10 years ago, if the world shut down 6 years ago. We were overdue for a followup visit. Judging by how the food went down, we were sore for it. We ordered the Big Tex: four meats and four sides - tri-tip, brisket, pulled pork and links; kale greens, bbq beans, mac and cheese and fries. We opted for the cornbread in the roll slot. It should be the top meats in your order, by premium scale and availability, but more often than they should be, the brisket/tri-tip selections are, 90%, obligatory orders. I think I have a love/hate relationship with the way LA treats the pepperoni pizza of bbq meats. Swinging Door broke us off proper though. Not too fatty. Great tenderism. And the accompanying sauce complemented the smoked all stars, rather than compensated for lack of flavor. Didn't stop me from loving their Whiskey bbq sauce though. The beans were a true bbq side, swimming in a mild sauce and containing lovely chunks of link. And the kale greens - sheesh - I think they might've switched to kale since our first visit. An effective exercise in alternative ruffage that holds seasoning and jucies for a similar bbq/soulfoud bite. We live further away now. Took the food to go, to prevent the intermittent rain from foiling more of our plans. It traveled well. And since I'm using our leftover bbq sauce on every other meal I cook, I'd say we successfully made do with our lunch substitute.

Wanting the best ingredients possible, I made the trip to pick up fresh cuts of meat and chorizo, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the day. From the moment the meat hit the grill, you could tell the quality was there. The cuts cooked beautifully, juicy, rich, and deeply flavorful. Each bite had that unmistakable taste that only truly fresh meat delivers. But the real standout was the chorizo. Perfectly seasoned, with just the right balance of spice and richness, it brought a bold, satisfying flavor that elevated the entire barbecue. If I had one regret, it would be not buying more of the chorizo. It disappeared quickly, which is usually the clearest sign that something was done right. Beyond the food itself, being in that part of the valley added something special to the experience. The familiar surroundings brought back a wave of memories, making the celebration feel even more meaningful. Great food has a way of doing that, bringing people together while reminding you of the places and moments that matter. In the end, the barbecue delivered exactly what a birthday celebration should: excellent food, great company, and a strong sense of nostalgia.

The friendly duo of ladies (I'm assuming they were the titular Nia & Jags) greeted me with smiles and friendly conversation, and quickly served up the sample I was meant to get as part of my package "Passport Deal." This was a small bite of Cuban pulled pork on a bed of pita chips. The pork was tender and very juicy without being fatty at all. Yes, the meat was juicy and lean, so these folks must be doing something right in the kitchen. The flavor itself was distinctly Cuban, with Caribbean spices and a bright, citrusy burst that provided a welcome contrast to the rest of the American-style smoked meats at the festival. The pita chips, while not homemade, also provided a welcome change from the standard breads and tortillas served at the other booths. Though I didn't get to sample the rest of their wares, now that I'm well-aware of their names, I'll be looking for Nia & Jags at other events so I can taste what else they're cooking up...
