However you want to call this place, it is always on point with the in house made chorizo ! the chicken one is always moist and a hit for those who don't like to eat Pork/Beef. The service is always friendly and quick, and the variety of offerings seems to grow by the day. My whole family and local friends have been coming here for decades to get the best ranchera you can find anywhere. I live across the street from here so of course I do too. Ziggy's also has some produce and other grocery items as well. Picked up some ingredients for papita con huevo. Later on I'll be making kakita con pdo. - Ranchera here is a must. I have been to a few carnicerias around town and no one has it as good as Ziggy's. It's always tender, trimmed with little to no fat. Seasoning is perfect although I wish they still added more onions to it. - Chorizo is top tier chorizo. Other people who know come from a long ways away just to get it here. I used to not like the chorizo as much due to the cinnamon in the seasoning that threw me off a bit but I think they toned it down a bit. Its delicious. - Guacamole is made fresh and in my opinion the best you can get. It's pricey but very flavorful. - Secret move. If you get chuletas de puerco for the grill, get them with adobada. It is also a convenience store/mini market which means you can shop for your groceries to complete your carne asada needs. Even if there is a line, don't worry as they are very efficient at helping customers. Don't be shy to ask questions they love to share the knowledge. I stopped by Ziggy this morning to get some ranchera carne and chicken. My wife really loves the way they marinate the carne and chicken here. The best advice to avoid the long line is to come early or when they just open like I did. It's street parking but if you come in the morning, you should find a spot easily. They already had a line before the store officially open. They also speak English too so that was great for me. I got a total of 8 pounds of ranchera asada and 4 pounds of chicken. The staff here are very nice and you can have small talk while they prepare your meat. I also had to get some tomatoes and green chilies that my wife wanted for the salsa. They have other stuff here as well so they just aren't a meat place. You're paying for quality here so its not cheap. read more

There's one guy that when I go he always dices up the meat for me the way I like it. I love that I can go and get fresh avocados ready to eat. Our first time at Ziggy's we asked for the rib-let's. When they shave down the ribs we asked to be seasoned. Once we were done cooking and started to eat EVERYONE was spitting tiny pieces of the shave bones! It was so embarrassing. Never again will I stop by here again. read more
