My whole family and local friends have been coming here for decades to get the best ranchera you can find anywhere. I live across the street from here so of course I do too. Ziggy's also has some produce and other grocery items as well. Picked up some ingredients for papita con huevo. Later on I'll be making kakita con pdo. - Ranchera here is a must. I have been to a few carnicerias around town and no one has it as good as Ziggy's. It's always tender, trimmed with little to no fat. Seasoning is perfect although I wish they still added more onions to it. - Chorizo is top tier chorizo. Other people who know come from a long ways away just to get it here. I used to not like the chorizo as much due to the cinnamon in the seasoning that threw me off a bit but I think they toned it down a bit. Its delicious. - Guacamole is made fresh and in my opinion the best you can get. It's pricey but very flavorful. - Secret move. If you get chuletas de puerco for the grill, get them with adobada. I stopped by Ziggy this morning to get some ranchera carne and chicken. My wife really loves the way they marinate the carne and chicken here. The best advice to avoid the long line is to come early or when they just open like I did. It's street parking but if you come in the morning, you should find a spot easily. They already had a line before the store officially open. They also speak English too so that was great for me. I got a total of 8 pounds of ranchera asada and 4 pounds of chicken. The staff here are very nice and you can have small talk while they prepare your meat. I also had to get some tomatoes and green chilies that my wife wanted for the salsa. They have other stuff here as well so they just aren't a meat place. You're paying for quality here so its not cheap. read more
