    Checkin on yelp!!!!

This is a cute little place located right on the street, you can find street parking. Inside there's a couple tables, so it's good for a date? Friends meet or a small group of 4. The workers were lovely over the phone when I called to place my order. I had the pad Thai (gluten free) with beef. I asked for chili sauce on the side to spice it up, and I checked in on help when I got there and received a "free soda or Thai tea voucher" I chose to use the Thai tea! This was soooo sweet and creamy, I ended up adding it to another glass over ice and watered it down. The noodles were a massive portion, it lasted me for another's days lunch! The fish was good, could have used a bit more sauce. I'll be back to try more dishes! They were super quiet when I got there so I hope they do a ton of to go orders. Worth a try fersure!

Had a great time with friends and great food! I ordered the lunch special beef panang curry

I've driven by this place so many times but I never stopped to eat inside because I thought parking was impossible. I'll usually get it to go but then one day the lady there told me that there's free parking in the back! You're in luck if your favorite Thai dish is chicken pad see ew. It's the best thing they make. The noodles are nicely separated and perfectly chewy. There's a good balance of flavor - not oily, too salty or even too sweet. The Hot Basil chicken aka the chicken kra pow (minced chicken with basil leaves) is my go to but here it's made with chicken breast so it's not as tasty as your traditional kra pow. Still good though especially with a double dose of fried eggs! Make sure you ask for fish sauce on the side with chopped chilies so you can spoon a little on your fried eggs. Super friendly staff. There are a few small tables inside the tiny place. When I had dinner there, no one else dined in. Everyone I saw walking in were picking up to go orders. Kaohorm is one of the better places for Thai along Ventura Blvd. Sit down or take out - either way it's going to be good. Don't forget to check in on Yelp for a complimentary soda or Thai iced tea!

Date: September 12, 2023 The little sister was coming over to visit and she wanted Thai food so decided to re-try this establishment. I've been here prior when it was called 'Kao Cafe' and although it wasn't bad, it wasn't good enough to come back again. Since they changed their name, we decided to give it another shot. Called over the phone to order and my sister went to pick it up. 1. Beef pad Thai- little bland but noodles weren't bad. Beef was little chewy. Plentiful amount though. wish they gave limes. 2. Beef pad see ew - this one was actually not bad. Beef was hard but the noodles were cooked nicely and sauced perfectly. Didn't like that there were only a handful of veggies and they were all the hard stem pieces but overall it was good. They have a yelp check in deal for a free soda or Thai tea, however when we asked the lady rudely said 'it's only for dine in' even tho it doesn't state that on the check in. Oh well. It's only a soda, didn't have to be so rude. Glad we got to try it out again. Wouldn't be back unless we had to get somewhere close by. I don't believe there's a parking lot but street parking isn't too bad.

Service was good. She was a bit slow to take our order once we sat down but other that that the experience was great. Payaya salad was good- a little kick but nothing crazy. Never heard of salmon curry so we decided to order and try it out. Was tasty! Sauce either the coconut shrimp was good as well.

Great food. Great service. Very nice. But it's a little hot inside the dining. Only a fan was on while we dined.

Small restaurant but the food was so delicious! Portions were generous and your choice of how spicy you would like. Loved the lunch special with mixed vegetables and white meat chicken in a garlic sauce. Eggplant and chicken was also so yummy! Check in on Yelp for a free Thai ice tea.

Staff members take your order at the window, and you pay before receiving your food. On my next trip, I made sure to try a curry chicken lunch special. The value is indeed there, and the size was indeed modest but satisfying. The egg roll was STEAMING hot, so mouths beware! It was tasty in the sauce, of which there was plenty. I'm naturally conservative with my entree to rice portions, but even so I found myself having extra rice in the end. The curry also errred on the sweeter end. This picture doesn't do it justice with how little curry there actually is, but at this price point it's fair.

Considering the aspect that this restaurant is recognized in the Michelin guide, the food lives up…read moreto the hype and the service is beyond anything else you'd find in the LA food scene. As someone who has been eating southeast Asian food all my life and spent a small stint in Bangkok, the flavors here are better than your average Thai restaurant. The papaya salad was small, but the spice and addition of sliced fruit really packed a punch. I was obsessed with the sauce from the Crudo. I actually saved the sauce in a small saucer when they were clearing the plates for next dishes and kept using it for dipping. The branzino was so good with crispy skin and fish that fell apart with each spoon jab. The Chinese sausage fried rice was incredible and I liked that they put a whole sausage on the side so you can compare the meat flavor versus the flavor combined with the rice. With the ribs, each bite was perfectly coated in sauce. They provide small wet hand wipes so you can toss your worries to the side and just dig in. The star of our meal was the wagyu steak. It came sizzling on the hot plate and we got to cook it for additional time if we wanted, or eat it as it came medium rare. You can really taste the quality of the steak and I loved dipping it in all the sauces we collected from the other dishes. We had to get the mango sticky rice but ate it so fast before we got a picture. Speaking on the dining experience, being a patron here is more than just trying to get food in your belly. The staff are so attentive in a way that is genuine and authentic. They care so much about making sure your selections will cater to your tastes, from the food to the wine. The restaurant playlist is fun but also soft enough to keep conversations. Food comes out at a great pace and staff are constantly checking on drink levels and clearing plates for space. Hana was a fantastic server! She made sure that we felt tended to while also asking for our true feedback on the food so she could make further suggestions. Her wine selections for us were almost as if she read my mind. For my friend's birthday, they even brought out a man playing ukelele for the birthday song as the dessert came out. Tables are intimate but not cramped and the space is beautifully curated to feel elevated without pretentiousness. The open kitchen makes you feel like you're really close to the action and that they truly care about the food.

This place was called Voila Boutique for as long as I can remember. The Rustic Spoon opened right before the pandemic. They survived and now this is definitely one of the best Thai spots in town. We started off with Steamed Chicken Dumplings, Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp and Jasmine Tea. The Dumplings were fine, the soup had a nice lemon grass broth, lots of mushrooms and about five full shrimp. We moved on the the Krapow with chicken, which was very tasty. Drunken Noodles with Beef was also very nice, and then we had two curries with chicken - The Yellow Curry and the Massaman Curry. Both were served in a Yellow curry sauce. The subtle difference was the cinnamon braised chicken in the Massaman curry, otherwise both dishes tasted the same and were very good. This was a delicious meal and a very pleasant experience. The service was excellent and the vibe inside is comfortable, relaxing and sleek. They don't have low sodium soy sauce, but they have plenty of good spice options which they will bring to the table upon request. There is also a large parking lot in the back, which is very convenient. As much as I like the Toluca Lake location, I think I like this spot better. The larger dining room has more space between tables, but it still maintains an intimate vibe. The menus are identical. Tasty food, great service and an enjoyable atmosphere. I'm a fan!
