Ordered pick up for their lunch special and it was super yummy and a good value. All the food was like $50 and we had some left over for another meal. The curry was amazing and the bao buns had so much flavor (on the sweeter side). The fried dumplings and egg rolls had great crunch and the sauces were super good with them. The dumpling filling didn't have a ton of flavor but I always use sauce anyway. The Pad C U was a much more subtle flavor but good.
I am a Ma Sa Man (massaman) curry enthusiast! So happy to discover that Dek Sen is now in the west valley. I have visited their original location, Rustic Spoon and loved their version. Ma Sa Man curry features braised beef, potatoes and peanuts- so flavorful & satisfying! So happy that I can stop by Dek Sen on my way home from work! I decided to have the Prik Gang fried rice while at the restaurant. Delicious! It arrived steaming hot with pork belly, bamboo, bell peppers and zucchini along with a tasty green curry sauce! Omg! I will be getting this again and again! I took home the eggplant basil with tofu and mom enjoyed that along with the Pla Ka Pow- a crispy fish filet with onion, bell peppers, green beans, basil and a spicy garlic chili sauce. Delish! Bravo Dek Sen! Thank you!
Dek Sen's is a hidden gem in Sherman Oaks that serves delicious Thai food. I had the honor of attending a yelp event and I instantly fell in love with the dish that I was able to try out as part of the event. So here I was, returning as a customer. I was fighting a cold and so I wanted a nice hearty soup. I found parking in the back lot and entered through the back door. Plenty of parking in the back or street as well. I then approached the counter to place my order. She was very nice and quick to place my order. I went with the Kao Soi Noodle soup and their Vietnamese iced coffee. The Kai Soi Noodle soup's presentation for dining in was beautifully crafted. It came in a creamy coconut curry broth, egg noodle, cilantro, onion, pickled mustard green and crispy noodle. 5/5 I asked for the spice level to be medium, and level was just right for me. This is by far the best Thai soup that I have had so far. The Thai iced coffee had a great taste, smooth yet caffeinated. Perfect blend of sweetness and creamer in it; they use condensed milk. 5/5 Overall, I will be coming back soon to try out other Thai dishes that they offer.
Met my mom and few family members for lunch here earlier today. It's a small spot with a few tables. You place your order at the window and take a seat. They bring the food to your table. Customer service is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is chill. We ordered a few things but I somehow forgot to take a picture of everything. We were having a good time chatting lol. Forgot about pictures. I only have a picture of the soup I ordered. Koo Soi noodle soup is my favorite here. I get it with veggies no protein and it's delicious. My mom ordered a pad thai with veggies, the noodles were too thin it's better when it's a bit thicker. But the flavor was good. The basil eggplant chicken we ordered was a bit too salty for me but my family enjoyed it.
I've been here 4 times this year as I really enjoy the food here. I've tried many items here and enjoyed most of them. My favorite is the Pork Belly Bao appetizer. Least favorite was the Wasabi House Noodle (didn't taste like wasabi). It's not a full service restaurant, but the staff is great there and I've been well taken care of. Seating is very limited there, so I usually go during off peak hours. Parking lot is in the back. Dek Sen is one of my favorite Thai restaurants right now.
Absolutely fantastic place! My first time and I was greeted by the sweetest cashier helping me choose what I want and what specials are available. I chose a pad Thai with shrimp and a Thai tea to drink. The Thai tea was rich, creamy, and not to sweet and perfect to cool down the spiciness from the hot sauce. And that pad thai - WOW. It's one of the more unique pad thai I've had, it's a tad sweet so the hot sauce helps balance it out, and it's a very rich and noodle-focused dish. The shrimp were a tad overcooked but still tasty and juicy. I loved the juiciness of the noodles too without it being a swamp of sauce. I will definitely need to come back!!
So glad I got the opportunity to check this place out. The food was so delicious! I ordered the crispy rolls with sweet and sour sauce and they were cooked to perfection. The crispy rolls were so full of flavor. They give you around 6 rolls, which is plenty. The service was also amazing. The staff were attentive and helpful with helping me decide what to choose from on the menu. The place was clean and I appreciated the rear parking lot they have available. The food came out within 10 minutes. I will definitely visit this place again soon.
Parking can be rough, but there is a parking lot in the rear as well as a handicap accessible entrance. We parked in the back and walked through to the front. At the front, there are menus that you can take to your own selected seats and review. When we came up to pick up the menus, we were greeted right away. When you are ready to order, just come up to the ordering window to place your order. We ordered lots of food. We ordered stir-fried mixed veggies, basil eggplant with beef, tom ka (soup with coconut milk), chicken sate (grilled sticks/skewers), and some crispy veggie rolls. The service was great! The food was fantastic. I would order everything again, and I will be coming back here again. Delicious food, great atmosphere. Very relaxing and pretty quiet. No loud music blasting away, easy to converse with your significant other, or friends. Highly recommended. Great flavors, great atmosphere, great food, great people.

Ooooh absolutely sugar through the roof - perfect for dilutions, but not as tasty otherwise. For dining in, parking is easily found on the street. It's a fairly cozy spot as well. Staff members take your order at the window, and you pay before receiving your food. On my next trip, I made sure to try a curry chicken lunch special. The value is indeed there, and the size was indeed modest but satisfying. The egg roll was STEAMING hot, so mouths beware! It was tasty in the sauce, of which there was plenty. I'm naturally conservative with my entree to rice portions, but even so I found myself having extra rice in the end. The curry also errred on the sweeter end. This picture doesn't do it justice with how little curry there actually is, but at this price point it's fair.
Honestly my new favorite Thai spot. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and the food is even better than the service! In my most recent visit, we had the Chicken Bao, Garlic Black Pepper Chicken, and the Pad Thai, all of which were absolutely delicious. They have a great combination of savory and sweet flavors. It's a pretty cozy and small spot, but I already can't wait for my next visit :)
Stopped by for supper and was welcomed immediately by hostess. We ordered the "Thai spicy" Green Curry (with pork belly), and the Thom youn Chicken soup (tasty & sour)! I loved the personally framed artwork and murals on the wall. It really set the scene & gave a smooth vibe while enjoying our meal. Also, there's more than enough parking in the rear lot.

If you plan to dine in, you order at the counter and the food will be brought to your table. I ordered my usual Thai food orders: a noodle dish, curry, and fried tofu. The pad see ew (pad c u) was delicious and not too sweet. It also comes with a generous amount of protein (beef). I had their red curry which was flavorful. Their fried tofu was on point and their sauce was a bit different from other places. It was more vinegar and light, rather than the usual thick/sweet sauce that I was used to. Looking forward to trying their other dishes like their Khao Soi! There is street parking in front of the store and there is a back parking lot.

I had driven by this place for years and somehow never stopped in to eat, so I finally decided it was time to actually give it a try! I usually get food to go, so it was nice to sit down and experience the restaurant in person. One of the things that caught my attention was their lunch specials. The prices were cheaper than a lot of other places I have been to, and considering the portion sizes, I thought it was a really good value. I always appreciate a lunch special that actually feels like a full meal and not a smaller portion just because it's discounted. I ordered the Thai Iced Tea along with the Pad See Ew lunch special, which came with a salad and some rice. The salad had a Miso Ginger dressing, which had a wonderful flavor. My friend also went with the lunch special and ordered the Orange Chicken. We were both surprised by how filling the meals were! Definitely enough food to leave you satisfied without feeling like you needed to order something else. The restaurant itself is pretty quaint and has a cozy, casual feel. There are a few tables inside, along with some additional seating in the back. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. Parking is something to keep in mind. They share a parking lot with a few other businesses, so there is a small lot in the back, but it can fill up. There is also some street parking in front and residential street parking nearby. Overall, I'm glad I finally stopped in. Between the affordable lunch specials, generous portions, friendly service and casual atmosphere, it's definitely a spot I would come back to. I attended an elite event here a few months back. Well they got me back. I loved it then and I loved it even more the second time. I brought two more people with me and everyone said they will come back again and again. I got the same thing. The Kao Noodle soup with chicken. We dined in and I didn't finish it all. Which was great because I was able to take it home. Then after I finished it. I kept the broth and grilled my own chicken and added it to it. Just a fabulous dish. We also had the chicken pad Thai and a vegan noodle dish. Excellent levels of spice. Excellent service from the staff. I just love this place and honestly I'm not a curry noodle fan, at least I wasn't. read more
I'm very picky with my Thai food and let me tell you, the first time I tried Dek Sen's was through a Yelp elite event and I was hooked. I drive past often mostly before 11 which is when they open so I can't stop in, but this time I was able to stop by for a late lunch early dinner which I got to go. Parking is in the back and you can enter through the back door. Staff is so sweet and kind when they take the orders. I got the Kai Soi Noodle Soup because I loved it so much before, and I got a side of rangoon, a side of Roti, and a side of chicken Sa te. The Kai Soi Noodle Soup stayed hot for the drive back home and it is so delicious. I love how it's packed in a bowl with the soup on bottom and the noodles and veggies seperated at the top. The noodles taste incredibly fresh and just amazing. I loved eating the soft flaky roti on the side with the soup. I saved the rangoon and chicken sa te to eat for another meal and they were both delicious, however I felt the chicken was so thin so it was a little dry. Probably next time I should eat that immediately. Dipping it into the peanut sauce of course elevated it and it tasted very flavorful. Overall Dek Sen's is my favorite Thai food place in socal! Came in to give our local Thai spot a try, and left VERY disappointed in the quality of the food. The pork belly buns were doused in hoisin sauce, making it very unpleasant to eat. The crab rangoons to my surprise came with NO (imitation) CRAB, just cream cheese! The interior is very cozy and service was ok. read more

Don't order it...the noodles were so overcooked it fell apart in the soup. This was a to go order on New Years...super disappointed especially since I've eaten here endless times. Trash. read more
Best decision to try this place. If you want some really good fish, HIGHLY recommend getting the pla ka pow spicy. Perfect flavors and little kick. The yellow curry was creamy and light enough. Mixed stir fry veggies were really good and had a sweet hint to it. The employees were very nice and parking was easy with a lot in the back and street parking in the front. I ordered online for pick up and it was ready and the exact time it estimated. For sure adding this as a staple I will be going back to. read more

I was honestly scared to try this place because when I went to Rustic Spoon it was very mid. But Dek Sen rules! Been going out to eat alone and it is a very comfortable cafe to do that in. I didn't try enough on the menu to give a proper rating but from the meal and service I had alone I would give it five stars. The cashier also randomly came up to me to ask if I wanted a refill and I thought that was sweet because it's not really a sit down restaurant. I want to come back and try things on the drink menu! read more

What are we supposed do now that White Lotus Season 3 ended? EAT LOTS OF THAI FOOD. Dek Sen's lunch specials make it easy! Honestly when was the last time you saw a $12 lunch special in LA??? I was beyond pleased with the $12 green curry lunch special I got. They also gave me a 5% online order discount and free crab dumplings because I ordered more than $30. They actually forgot to include the free dumplings in the takeout bag but they fixed it very fast. Friendly and kind staff. The restaurant is casual, with colorful decor. Also there is a parking lot behind the restaurant which makes things very smooth because the street is pretty busy and it's sometimes hard to find parking. THE BEAT DEAL EVER. And the food was delicious!! (I wouldn't be leaving a good review no matter how cheap the food is unless the food is actually tastyyy) read more

Simply the best Thai food I've had in a while. I felt like I was transported to Bangkok. Affordable lunch special packing lots of flavor and a complete meal with rice, salad and a main. The sweeter customer service and someone in the kitchen has sweet hands ! Sooooo good !! read more

I stopped by for lunch two weeks ago and ordered the pad Thai lunch special. Service was excellent and the ambiance was nice and quiet (I arrived right after they opened and it started to get busy within a few minutes). The food was good and fresh, and I kind of regret not trying out more items on the menu despite the fact that my meal was pretty filling. I overheard two different customers ordering the dumplings and was curious to see how good they were. Maybe next time! read more

We've been coming down to Van Nuys for work a lot and I've wanted to try this place for a while. Glad we did. What an awesome little small restaurant. They have so many options to choose from. The place is very cozy and quaint. It's very bright in color. The lady behind the counter was super sweet, helpful, and really friendly. She definitely knew what she was talking about when it came to spice level because she got it spot on for us! We ordered the sole fish fillet, which I got steamed instead of fried. We also ordered, the spicy fried rice, and the kee mow with beef. Even though we only ordered three dishes it was a lot of food! The portion sizes are great at this place. Now onto the food, the soul fish fillet was melt in your mouth tender, and I dipped it in the green sauce that it came with and it was absolutely amazing. Gave it the right amount of spice and a little bit of sour and it was incredible!!! My husband loved the spicy fried rice. We got it the highest spice level, and he said it was super flavorful the perfect amount of spicy and all-around delicious. The kee mow I had so much sauce and it tasted like genuine Thai street food. We ordered it medium spicy, and the level was perfect. The noodles were soft. The beef was tender. They had so many other things that we definitely wanna try and we can't wait to go back. Thanks Dek Sen's for an amazing first visit. Be seeing you soon! read more
