Just found this brand new place, and it's a fantastic find. Open only 7 weeks, Flavez is already clearly a favorite of locals, because they had steady business the whole time I was there. It's a small place at the corner of a strip mall, and they've got only 4 tables -- but don't let that deter you, as any wait you may have is well worth it. The menu is compact and simple: burgers, fries and drinks. They'll obviously make you whatever version of a smash burger you want, but they suggest 4 different house creations, 2 fairly standard, a western style, and the one I chose: Seoul Heat. This is a crisply-crusted beef burger (single or double) with melted American cheese, pickled onions, frizzled onions, shaved Serrano peppers and their secret "Seoul Sauce," a spicy creation that's thankfully NOT mayo-based. The burger itself was nicely cooked, juicy despite its smash, and well-seasoned. The cheese was properly melted, and the 2 types of onions offered a clever contrast with one another. The Seoul Sauce was a terrific component: a bit spicy, but not too much so, and packed with Asian spices; all served on a Martin's potato bun. This is a great burger at a great price, and very pleasantly different from the usual. I ordered the combo, which came with a drink and fries -- fairly standard issue shoestrings, but cooked in beef tallow and lightly salted, making them a much-appreciated upgrade from what's offered at other casual places. Beyond burgers are also available, so your vegan buddies can join you. The co-owner, Rose, was working the counter and welcoming everyone with a smile. The whole staff was working quickly, and the food they're putting out is really top notch. Yes, it's a fast food place, and yes, it's also a terrific addition to the neighborhood; and yes, you should get in there ASAP to show them some love and help turn their first 7 weeks into their next 7 years!!! read more

We were really excited to try this new burger spot on Reseda and came away thoroughly impressed. After seeing on Instagram that there had been some pretty long lines, we decided to place part of our order through DoorDash ahead of time. Since we order DoorDash fairly often anyway, we thought it would also be a good opportunity to see how they handled takeout and delivery orders. It worked out perfectly because the kids were able to start eating while we waited for our burgers, which kept everyone happy. The woman working at the front was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We ordered our dine in food at the kiosk as soon as we walked in, and the whole process was very easy and straightforward. The burgers did take a little while to come out, but they were absolutely worth the wait. Everything tasted fresh and was packed with flavor. The fries were such a hit with our kids that we ended up ordering a second order. The Flave Fries (I think that's what they're called) were especially delicious, and the special sauce was so good. The restaurant itself was clean, organized, and efficient. Even as a brand new business, everything seemed to run really smoothly. Great customer service, great food, and an overall great experience. Just tried Flavez and it did not disappoint! Both my wife and I ordered the flavez burger and it was delicious! The quality of the meat is outstanding and just a great burger overall. The fries also compliment the burger. The service was also great, they did not have a grilled cheese on the menu but they went ahead and made it for us which I appreciated. I ordered it to go but the restaurant was clean and had a good amount of seating. Overall, it is a great burger spot and I would def recommend to anyone looking for a great burger. read more

Been waiting for this place to open for a while and it was well worth the wait! The place is a bit of a hole in the wall; it's a little small, as is the menu. The only things on the menu are burgers, fries, and sodas. I guess their philosophy is that it's better to focus on what you do best and do it right than have a varied menu where the items are of varying levels of quality, but I wouldn't be opposed to them expanding the menu to include fast food mainstays like milkshakes, chicken sandwiches, onion rings, etc. sometime down the line. Beyond that, the food has a solid price point. My double burger combo cost just a little over $15 (including tax). The service is also quite fast too. As for the food? Man, these burgers really are of top notch quality. The meat is tender, juicy, and well-seasoned, and they're served on nice pillowy potato buns (at least I think they're potato buns). The fries have a wonderful crisp texture, and while I hoped for a bit more of just salt in terms of seasoning, they still satisfied nonetheless. Now there's only one real negative - the pickles. They're the jarred kind (kinda like Vlasic or Mt. Olive), not the chilled kind, and consequently, aren't particularly of great quality. But it's a minor thing, and everything else made up for it. First off, I have been waiting for this place to open for what felt like forever and I can tell you with pride that it was absolutely worth the wait. I mean this place is a hidden gem. Like imagine you found a diamond at goodwill, that's how it felt. This place was so clean and pristine. The texture of their burger were like a cloud and the taste was as if the hamburger heavens blessed my tongue. Now you might be thinking, all these amazing things must come with a huge price tag. Well dont you worry my friend, I got 1 double classic and 2 Seoul burgers, 1 a combo and all for the price of $31. Now with there being a total of 3 people trying this spot, that's 10 dollars per person! Now the combo contained a drink and fries. Now don't even get me started with those fries. They were absolutely sublime. Now the service. Normally when you order something through a kiosk or register, when your food is done they would call you up but this place just came to where you were sitting and gave you your food. When they gave us our drink, they also offered some water cups which we accepted. But these cups weren't just your average cup, they were 20oz which was the same size as the drink we ordered. Ngl was blown away by the quality vs pricing at this place, the burgers themselves are smashed to a perfection, an actually smashed patty instead of a fried beef skirt, that bit of detail is definitely the defining line in the smash burger world rn places that underhand the depth of the smash have the upper hand and always will and this place definitely leaves its mark as one of the best smash burgers this side of the valley for sure!
