I've been coming to The Carving Board for many years! The food options are diverse and super tasty. They will have something for you regardless of the mood you are in. They are happy to customize your order if needed. They also have vegetarian options. The manager/owner is one of the nicest people I've encountered. See you there for lunch!

SERVICE: Super cool staff, clean facility, and free lot parking (back). We stayed for literally 3 hrs chatting. Was able to keep a running tab. First time visiting. Everything was cool. FOOD: Ordered the Turkey Dinner sandwich. Could have used more cranberry sauce for me but was good. Came with homemade chips that had a nice butter crunchy with a soft center. Fries were fine. Also ordered the fried Oreos sprinkled with powdered sugar. With humor, I think I'm too old for these as the grease needed a pop to kill the grease lol. WELL: I'd return, but only if in the area.

I've passed by this place many times and finally took the opportunity to try it. I wasn't disappointed. I was greeted immediately upon coming in. I had placed my order over the phone so it would be ready weighing arrived. For my first time I went with the double smash burger with fries. I had pickles added. The meat was deliciously flavorful and the bread had a sweet touch that I loved. Tree he fries were skinner than I expected based on the pictures online. They were also smaller pieces than I desired. They were good nonetheless. All in all nice restaurant. Seating is offered inside. Free parking is available in the back and the service was very welcoming. I look forward to going back and trying something else next time.

This place is great. The sandwich was fantastic and the staff was helpful and polite. The presentation of of the food was really good too.

Wow. Killer sandwiches with great presentation. Everything is so fresh and the staff were very welcoming. Highly recommend!

The service was exceptional from the moment we stepped inside. We were greeted with warm smiles and recommendations. I was unimpressed, however, with my meal. I ordered the chicken Parm, which is a popular item on the menu and looked really good. The sauce was smooth, not too tangy and had a nice flavor to it. I believe the chicken breast though was butterflied in a way that went with the grain instead of against it, causing it to be chewy when it was coated and fried. I was able to eat about the quarter of the sandwich but the rest was inedible and very tough to bite through. My husband ordered the Wolfgang sandwich which was a turkey sandwich with goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and pesto that was delicious. He ordered a side of the kale pasta which he liked. The line never ended and regulars kept coming in to grab their order, so it seems like a very hot spot for lunch in Tarzana. Five stars for service and I'd like to return and order differently next time.

The food, service, ambiance and parking were all 5/5! Will definitely be coming back. I enjoyed that they had other options for fountain drinks besides just being sodas. I for one, don't really care for sodas. They had black and green iced tea and lemonade and pink lemonade. They also sell cold brews-vanilla and mocha. The gentleman working at the register was super friendly and the cooks were all so fast and efficient. There is plenty of parking in the back. There's only one restroom stall but they keep it clean. There's plenty of seating inside or outside. Came here after a nice hike up at Topanga scenic view. Next time you're around the area you should stop by for fresh hot or cold sandwiches and everything is always made fresh.

I turned into the small street nearby but all the street parking was full and there was a gated parking lot right behind the building with the gate to enter open but the gate to exit closed so I didn't want to have another bad experience and avoided it altogether. Swung around the front and got lucky with metered parking. Their entrance is on the side despite all the signs and windows up front. Walked into an empty shop, 1 worker guy greeted us and took our order. This place had a lot of seating but felt more like a dessert place and based on my drink, it was absolutely that. I got the Creme Brulee latte and it was torched at the top like you'd expect so that was cool. Gorgeous decoration which is great for photo ops. Once the guy gave me my drink, he basically disappeared to the back. I took my photos and left. It was good but tasted like melted coffee ice cream. The sweetness was over the top and the more I drank it, the more I was getting a crazy sugar rush and it did not mix well with the heat that day. Couldn't even finish it but if you are a child or someone who enjoys super sweet things, then this is for you. Sadly it isn't for me! IG: @ammysalamii

The shop is located in a plaza with decent parking spots. I can imagine on a busy day it can be hard to park here! Which was already a good start to our experience since Laidrey has terrible parking (no offense). I love Laidrey but wanted to give a chance to a place I haven't tried before. Upon entrance, we were greeted with a warm and pleasant "good morning!" The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. The cashier/barista was the sweetest girl who gave me helpful tips on what to get. There was an older gentlemen who walked us through on the different pastries. He told us what to get warmed up and what would taste good with the coffee. I'm so glad the staff had actual good tips because man was everything DELICIOUS. The potato croquette I had was mind blowing! It was savory with hints of cumin and a little bit of spice which you can't really get something like this at regular coffee shops. My FAVORITE! The sweetened puff pastry with cheese felt decadent and good with the coffee but boy did it fill me up immediately! The savory feta pastry was something my husband ordered which he seemed to really like but wasn't a personal favorite of mine. The Spiced Mexican Mocha was smooth and creamy. My husband ordered this and it was perfectly up to his speed! I ordered "The Sam" which is a salted vanilla oat latte. I was so excited because it already had oat milk in it! This latte was absolutely incredible and she even added the aesthetic foam art heart to it. Overall, the environment was wholesome and it's a very spacious shop. Not too loud or crowded for me. They have a small and limited parking lot behind the coffee shop as well as some street parking open on Reseda and Dearborn. There's a Trader Joe's and Chili's across the street with more parking as well and I have parked behind Dave's Hot Chicken and the Habit and there is always space there. Ambiance: This coffee shop is quaint and feels a little cramped when you finally get inside and through the line. There is a counter top with some chairs as well as one couch and desk where one can study although, I personally never would. It's clean and bright with a minimalistic vibe inside. With it being cramped, you basically just get in, order, and get out. It's rare to find seating inside and it can feel overwhelming just sitting there trying to enjoy your drink with so many people around. Drinks: We've been there multiple times and you can always expect the same- mid, slightly overpriced, oh- getting some post purchase clarity. But it's the type of slightly regretful decision we continue to make every time. We've gotten the matcha einspanner on several occasions, vanilla iced latte, caramel latte, and the most disgusting Americano known to man. Whether you get the dark or light roast Americano, you will not run away from the burnt and bitter flavor. Service: The line moves quickly, they take your order and get you in and out without a long wait. They also offer stamp cards, buy 10 get the 11th free. What a steal! Gimme 10 more! Overall: All this to say, it's oddly grown to be a valley staple, and represents some bordering LA values- overpriced, overhyped, but for some reason addicting in the fact you always seem to go back. I would say 3.5 but it doesn't allow it, so I'm feeling generous today.
