For my drink I ordered the tiramisu latte and it was very good and not too sweet at all. My friend ordered the blueberry matcha and said it was 5/5. I will come back here again!! We originally planned to go to Leo & Lily for breakfast, but our wait time kept getting pushed back. Tang and Java was actually where I originally wanted to grab coffee, so we decided to come here instead and I am SO happy our day worked out that way. This was genuinely some of the best coffee I've had since moving to California. I originally ordered one drink, and then realized they had a coffee flight. They were so nice and let me just pay the difference to switch to the flight, and THANK GOD because every single flavor I chose was amazing. The Toasted Tiramisu was TO DIE FOR. My friend also got the brown sugar coffee, which was incredible, so between the flight and hers I got to try five different flavors.. and every single one was so good. I'm honestly sad I live all the way in Santa Barbara because I will absolutely be going out of my way to come back here just for the coffee. And I say that as a coffee snob who grinds my own beans and makes my own espresso at home. This place is AMAZING. I was in the area craving a drink and happened to stumble across Tang & Java. It's a cozy cafe serving a variety of drinks and gelato. The staff were attentive and friendly, and they were happy to answer our questions about the menu. It was also fun to see they had a special World Cup themed menu during our visit. I've been loving this spot to do work at because it's quiet even though it gets busy. Their coffee can be a hit or miss. But I've enjoyed their maple oat and horchata latte. I haven't tried their pastries or other desserts but they look good. I've had their gelato which is yummy especially the biscoff one. I love the tuna sandwich. They have lots of different matcha options - ceremonial, sweetened, and flavors like blueberry and lavender. Fyi, she mentioned if you get the sweetened matcha with strawberry that would make the drink a little too sweet. My bf got a large iced lavender vanilla latte with oat milk. They charge a $1 more for non-dairy milk and for flavors/syrups. It was pretty pricey at over $20 for both drinks. For non-dairy milks, they have almond milk, soy, oat, macadamia, and unsweetened almond - lots of options! I don't love that they don't post any prices on their menu so it's unclear how much things cost until you pay. The matcha was tasty and not too sweet at all. The lavender vanilla latte was also good. This place is good for coffee. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and an Iced Matcha latte. The Vietnamese coffee was good, pretty strong. It was pretty standard. The matcha latte was not mixed well at all, there were clumps of matcha powder at the bottom on the cup. So when I was drinking it I got big chunks of bitter matcha with each sip, I did not enjoy my matcha much at all. The coffee shop has a great vibe inside. They sell some handmade candles, merch, bracelets and other trinkets. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you order matcha just make sure it's fully mixed up. read more

I've been back a few more times since my last review, and although it was in the middle of the day (because my initial review was based on an evening issue) they do deserve good mention for their service and always good coffee drinks I order here. Not many coffee shops offer Chagaccinos but I'm really glad this place does because it's not too far from my house. Iced Chagaccinos is primarily what I come here for, but I've also had other hot and iced lattes and they've all been good. I also come for the ube desserts which are always a treat. I've been coming here for the past few years and I still haven't had their bibinka because they're only served on Sundays. Unfortunately, I don't have coffee type days on Sundays because it's family time for me. Oh well... However, it was $8 and change and it's hard to tell the difference between the small and medium size. Overall, I don't know if I can justify the cost. Underrated coffee shop. I have always seen this spot in passing and one day decided to try this place out after eating next door at Exotic Thai. Now it's worth a drive to this place in and of itself. I have not tried their specialty drinks or specialty food items because I have found my drink and I am a creature of habit and cannot steer away from their solid, large, hot vanilla latte. I was staying in the valley and was looking for a morning coffee. I tried this coffee shop this morning. Fantastic coffee. I got a medium-sized hot vanilla honey latte with almond milk and only one pump of vanilla. Delicious. The coffee shop has books for you to read and many crystals, candles, sage spray, jewelry, and other items available for sale. Visited this cafe after a year the day before Thanksgiving. The quietness, free wifi, and power outlets make this a convenient place to get some work done. However, during this visit, the items I ordered were underwhelming and a completely waste of $27. It's insane that I paid that much for an afternoon treat. Initially ordered their "lightly sweetened" matcha latte ($5.75), their iced barista blend which was maple something ($5.99) with a single shot of espresso, and their Dutch pancakes with chocolate sauce ($13)!!! The sweetened matcha latte was awful. It tasted like sweetened milk. They told me that it's because the powder is already sweetened which means it's not high quality ceremonial matcha. They offered to make me their unsweetened ceremonial matcha with a little bit of honey. Same issue. The matcha color was SO LIGHT. Zero flavor of matcha. I'm no stranger to high quality matcha (make it at home on a daily and have tried almost 10 different brands). This drink was very disappointing and I barely drank half and tossed it out before leaving. The barista blend latte was average. The color was SO LIGHT. Why give the option of "single shot or double shot" if the single shot is gonna be all milk, ice, and flavored syrup. It didn't taste bad but it didn't taste like coffee either and by the time the ice melted, it tasted like nothing. The puffed pancakes were so soft and below average for the $13 I paid for and the amount I got (6 pieces!!). Whatever topping you want is extra including the chocolate sauce, strawberries, etc. I've tried these pancakes both in the Netherlands and also have bought them from Trader Joe's many times. They have to be a lot more crispy and taste less like eggs. Overall, the only pros during this visit were that the staff were nice and that I got some work done. They have lots of treats and a great selection of refreshers and lattes, which made it hard to choose just one. Second time at Tang & Java and had a delightful experience! It's very clean and the vibe is chill. There's some seating inside with three tables and a bar. The staff were very sweet, and he recommended a delicious suggestion, the tuna melt! I was not disappointed. You can tell it's fresh and hearty (Which I appreciate). Today is my birthday. For my special meal, I ate a wonderful Mediterranean dinner and wanted to top it off with a special treat. Tang & Java hit the mark!! Plus, the owner has an inspiring story behind the coffee shop's roots (come in and read her story). The place is small (three round tables and some counter space) but very clean and inviting. Small parking lot (corner of Ventura Blvd & Falbrook), but I had no problem getting a spot. Tang & Java serves specialty food items such as avocado toast, bagels, mini pancakes (must try!), specialty cold & hot drinks, and of course, my beloved Gelato (check out their website for the full menu). Had a frappe and they could not make a Carmel one those they had Carmel gelato and Carmel sauce! And rhey could or not used powder and made it with actual ice cream or asked! The Frappe did not even have whipped cream, honestly Starbucks so much better! And they did not blended good so had to come home and blend more it had ice chunks!
