This was my third time at Lady C's and it didn't disappoint. This place has become a staple restaurant to show to guests coming to town. Everything I've tried so far was delicious from the coffee to the fresh orange juice to the pancakes and omelettes. The soufflé pancakes are truly fluffy and delicious. I've tried the strawberry ones and also the mango ones in the past and both were incredibly good.. This place gets pretty full, but they always accommodated us and took our order quickly. Let me begin by saying that most of the food here is very, very, very well prepared and very, very, very good. What baffles me is the service. The last time I came here it was about five years ago, when it was still CiCi's. What I remember about that last time was how long it took us to get our food. I ordered steak and eggs, and when we asked when our food was coming, our waitress stared at me and said, "Well you ordered the steak . . . ". As if it was my fault that the food was taking a very long time. Regardless, when the food finally came, it was very good. However, the price point and the service was enough for me not to go back for a very long time. Until today. There are two seats on the very far left end of the bar that are lower than the regular bar seating. The hostess gave us menus promptly. There is a tall waitress working there who wears large glasses. Her hair was pulled back tightly. I'm not sure if she's is Asian or Hispanic. I'm not saying that to throw any shade at her ethnicity whatever it is I'm just saying that to try to describe who this person is. I have never in my life, been looked at so sourly and exasperatedly by a waitress as I have when this waitress saw my boyfriend and I sitting at the bar. No smile. Maybe she was upset because I had to flag her down because we had been sitting there waiting for someone to ask us if we wanted anything to drink. I asked for two coffees and two waters. She brought us the waters, and I never spoke to her again. Another waitress was kind enough to bring us our coffees after that. We waited a little while to order and yes, it was busy, but there were at least two or three people behind the bar at all times and I know they have other customers in the restaurant to serve so that doesn't bother me at all. So there was a third woman who took our order. We waited and waited and waited for our food. They did refill our coffee. After a while, I finally asked is our food coming? I was told let me go check by a fourth person. That fourth person returned and said that our food would be up soon. 10 minutes later I asked again if our food was coming. I understand certain things that take a long time like any of the pancake soufflés, but we did not order any soufflé pancakes. When I asked the second time when our food was coming, again, that person went to the kitchen to ask. When that person came back, they said oh it's not ready because you ordered the steak. The exact same thing they told me the last time we were here five years ago as to why our food was taking so long. I order my steak, medium rare every time it does not take that long to make a medium rare steak. Regardless, when I got my food, it was delicious. They forgot the side order of potatoes (because God forbid steak and eggs comes with potatoes) but I told them not to worry about it because I didn't wanna have to wait another 30 minutes to get them. My entree also came with a crêpe, and when they asked me what kind of crêpe I wanted, I asked for a Nutella crêpe. You know what they give you? A bone dry crêpe with whipped cream and a few drops of Nutella. I'm pretty sure that Nutella is supposed to go inside the crêpe not just a couple drops on top of it with a big giant dollop of whipped cream. And just because I feel like it, you know what's really low rent for a place with these prices? Tossing a to-go plastic disposable container of A1 on the plate with the steak and eggs. Seriously? You don't have a small little ceramic ramekin that you could at least put the A1in? I feel like that was put there just to fill up the plate because they don't give you any potatoes. Kind of a classless move. So like I said before, the food was very good and I'm sure it always will be. But when the waitress looks at you like you ruined her day, it reminds me why I haven't come back for years. Then when I really WANT to support that local business again, history of repeats itself. I don't like being blamed for my food taking forever because it's what I ordered. That is completely ridiculous and not the customers fault. So just be prepared for dirty looks and even if it's not that busy you're still gonna wait a long time for your food and maybe it'll be worth it but that's up to you. read more

My usual go to is loco moco or corned beef hash. BUT I've never seen beef panang curry with lava omelet. It did NOT disappoint. Beef was super tender. Panang sauce had that creamy peanut flavor with a slight kick of heat with flavor! Lava omelet was beautifully cooked and fun to eat. It is like a Japanese omurice which I've never had before. My only critique is that I would want Japanese sticky rice. Jasmine rice is too loose and Japanese rice would hold up to all the delicious sauce and lava omelet. So much flavor and nothing was needed like salt, pepper, hot sauce. My server Mint (I loved that she spelled her name for me) was super sweet and patient. It's a THIRTY page menu!!! She said beef panang was her favorite and I don't think she was just saying that. The owner is Thai so I love the little hints of Thai decorations. Stopped by for brunch on Wednesday. It wasn't too crowded around 11 am when we arrived. There's a small parking lot for the whole plaza, but I can see it getting full during busy times. The restaurant wasn't too crowded when I arrived, maybe 1/3 of the tables were occupied. The menu was very long and overwhelming.... let's just say I've never seen a menu with a table of contents before! lol I know they're known for their pancakes, so I definitely wanted to try some, but I also prefer savory dishes at brunch. I ended up ordering a custom frittata ($22.95) with spinach, portabello mushroom, and turkey breast for my savory, and the matcha souffle pancake ($24.95) for my sweet. The frittata came out first. The shape wasn't quite what I was expecting, as it looked more like an egg pancake (it was large and thin) rather than a frittata, but it was good. I got it with a side of fruit and plain bagel, so it was a relatively light breakfast. The matcha souffle pancakes came out after ~25 minutes or so, which isn't bad at all. The menu said to expect a 45 minute wait on weekdays, but no one else was ordering the souffle pancake so it came out much quicker than expected. I have mixed feelings about the souffle pancakes. On one hand, they're super soft and jiggly and almost just melts in your mouth. I really liked them from a texture point of view. I also thought they had the right amount of sweetness. However, even though it comes covered in a green matcha sauce and I'm sure they added some matcha into the pancake itself, I couldn't taste any matcha. If I had known that earlier, I would've ordered one of the other souffle pancakes where the flavor comes through more. Also, they are pretty pricey for what they are... yes the pancakes are massive, but it's the first time I paid more for pancakes than for my entree at brunch. My friend ordered the Mama Bea Omelet ($22.95) and really enjoyed it. It was his first time getting an omelet with salsa on top, and I have a feeling it won't be the last! The scalloped potatoes on the side were delicious as well. He also got the house coffee (called Cup of Joe on the menu) for $3.75 and enjoyed the unlimited refills. So Cici's Cafe is now Lady C's, and there is a difference, in my opinion. There are a lot of new menu items that I hadn't seen before. I tried the Panang beef omelet. It's like the Japanese Omurice. While the panang had good flavor, it lacked in salt. The scalloped potatoes also lacked in salt. Everyone at our table ordered something different and had the same complaint. The service and ambiance were nice enough, but the menu size to food quality to food cost ratio felt disrespectful. $9 for a coffee with so little caffeine that it would put a toddler to sleep. $25 for one sausage, two eggs, and two pancakes that tasted like Bisquick. Maybe reduce the menu size and increase the quantity / quality of the food so that the prices feel more justified. Again, this is about the food, not the service. Pancakes, this place is all about their pancakes! And long waits... We got their Panang Curry and Lava Omelet along with their Straberry Souffle Pancake and Banoffee Souffle cup. Gave us a good savory and sweet brunch. We really liked it all. The curry dish is a must. Both souffles were good, so you should leave without trying at least one souffle. Randomly found this place and it was delicious! Big menu and big portions! LOTS of French toast, pancakes, and waffle flavours. They even have soufflé pancakes but we didn't order any. Line gets long so expect to wait a bit but theirs turnover seems to be quick. They have a lengthy menu with various breakfast options including all the typical sweet and savory breakfast items as well as Asian infused breakfast cuisines. I'm always a sucker for green tea pancakes. The green tea pancakes were perfectly made and the texture reminds me of a bite of cake since it comes in a stack of 3, warm, soft, and fluffy every bite. I love this restaurant and grew up going to CiCi's but just a word of advice the parking is rough and it is very small inside and feels crowded. I did want to start with what I liked because we did unfortunately deal with flies bugging us our whole meal in the back corner of the restaurant and the other food is mid. I got a side of eggs and bacon and my boyfriend got a waffle, eggs and sausage and everything else felt rushed and a little cold/not flavorful. The sausage in particular was burned but cold? I've been to both CiCi's Cafe locations and somehow they both hit with the exact same consistency every time -- which is saying a lot because this place gets PACKED. Pro tip: sit at the bar. It's the fastest way to get seated because the wait times can get wild. I usually pair the pancakes with the Eggs Benedict, which are consistently on point. Perfectly poached eggs with a runny yolk, a well-emulsified hollandaise that isn't overly lemony, and their house potatoes legit taste like they were stir-fried in bacon grease (again... in the best way possible). They have several different combination plates for breakfast, we've tried the pancakes, French toast, the potatoes, bacon (they cook it well done, and it's great!), and the fresh fruit, all of it delish. Service is friendly and attentive, we never needed to ask for refills. Prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food (excellent). Parking is available in the front lot (limited space) and there is a much larger lot in the back, but it's a bit of a walk to get around to the front again.
