Eureka is one of my favorite restaurants in the valley! I love their late night happy hour and appreciate how they always make the effort to switch it up once and awhile. I really enjoy their truffle fries and I've tried lots of different truffle fries. I really want to shout out Jesse! He is a great server and was very kind and attentive. We were sat down quickly and our food arrive hot and fresh. The restaurant itself is super chill and the wait is never too long. Love being able to stop by here whenever I need a late night snack. Pains me to write this because Eureka is a long time favorite. Today, Mother's Day was not busy to my surprise. We decided to have an early lunch/late dinner. We were seated in the far back corner. Ignored so we asked for another table. I do wonder why we were placed in the very back because we had to walk by two empty tables of 4 on the way to the back. So great we have a new table. By this time there three empty tables for 4! Great right? But still forgotten. No acknowledgment from the non busy staff. How did I know they were not busy you ask? The pool if younger staff at the greeting stand were just talking and having a good time amongst themselves. The staff with black outfits and aprons at the back register area as well. The table next to us was served their appetizer while we sat beside them. They ate some and in time had their order taken (Korean male server). Meanwhile my table of 4? Nothing. No one ever brought water. No one said I'll be with you in a minute. Even the manager type (thin beige pants blue long sleeve linen like shirt)) outside tables and walked right by. Ok. Eureka is located in the Topanga Village by Costco and a bunch of other small businesses. Parking is fairly difficult; there isn't much unless you enjoy walking. Parking will also cost money if you'd like to park nearby. There is a wide selection of drinks available to try (and order). For starters, our party of six had an order of grilled chicken nachos, and I had their burger special at the time, which featured pineapple. Everything tasted delicious, though service was a bit on the slower end that evening. In terms of location, I would classify this as a hidden gem of Woodland Hills; I only discovered Eureka! when a coworker shared it. It's definitely not on an edge of this plaza that one would normally explore. read more

Posting this review after trying this spot twice. The first time was extremely slow service and I thought that might've been a one off. However, I went again and experienced even slower service on Tuesday night. I had to physically get up and grab our waiter twice. Our nachos came out first and the green beans came out more than 15 minutes later. The nachos looked nice but lacked beans & the chips seemed soggy. The green beans were cold and burnt; not charred. We left more than half of the bowl on the table. Wish I could like this spot because of the ambiance and location, but it's a miss. read more

Location 4 stars: In the trendy Village shopping complex in Woodland Hills, California, on the west end facing Topanga Canyon Blvd. Plenty of parking in the structure and the open lot behind the Village (free for the first 1.5 hours) but be prepared to walk a little. Also time-limited, pre-paid numbered parking stalls in front of the restaurant which I have seldom been lucky enough to find unoccupied. There is also paid Valet parking somewhere nearby but I did not locate it Venue 4 stars: Contemporary and modern, larger venue with a bar, indoor tables and booths, and outside seating. They take reservations on their website which I would recommend if you plan to visit during busy times such as lunch, dinner or any time on the weekends. Service 4 stars: Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. The manager also checked on us and was friendly and welcoming. Food 3.5 stars: Modern American comfort food, with emphasis on hamburgers. They also have appetizers, salads, sandwiches, 3 knife and fork plates and dessert . The menu is sizable and creative and the 8 burger options look interesting and unique. The happy hour menu (3PM to 6 PM and after 9PM daily) is small but inviting and well-priced. We ordered the Double Smash Burger, the Fresno Fig Burger and the Wagyu Bone Marrow Burger. We did unfortunately find them a bit dry and also overcooked (although we had ordered the Fig and Bone Marrow Burgers medium). Also, while plating was nice, the flavors were ok but not memorable. Drinks 4 stars: Full bar. Nice selection of specialty cocktails and mocktails, large list of beers in bottles and on tap (including some rotating taps), nice albeit smaller wine list, and a sizeable selection of whiskey. Billing 2 stars: I was disappointed that on the handheld payment terminal they recommend the tip amount based on the total after tax, which is not correct. Tipping is customarily calculated based on the total before tax. Some restaurants have started doing this recently which I find misleading and I will be calling them out on it. I have posted a picture of the check. Now, this may have been done by the terminal vendor and not the restaurant management but nevertheless I would recommend that the restaurant addresses this to avoid having confused and unhappy customers. The Bottom Line 4 stars: Great vibe, service, venue and area. I would hope that they would address the food concerns and the tipping practices that I have mentioned earlier. read more

My closest friends and I always meet here in Woodland Hills for an upscale brunch/dinner during all the holidays. One of my friends brings her baby daughter, with and so we always make sure she's comfy and parking is easy. Eureka, has super yummy vegetarian options and can I also say which is a rare feature in fine dining: the calorie count on the menu is awesome! Esp, during the holidays keeps you on track with better foodie choices. Really appreciate that bit. Can we talk abt Hoppy Hour! So many yummy appetizers to share with the entire table at awesome prices! Fried pickles Mac and cheese balls and nachos with jalapeños. And even a few drinks, my husband loved and for myself, the Lavendar Iced Tea was decorated with gorgeous flowers and delicious drink. Truly the best iced tea I've had this year, and it's my thing! The ambiance is holiday cozy, and upscale. Twinkle lights strung all about the trees, family friendly patio table sets, excellent service, and easy parking. The atmosphere here is easily the standout. The outdoor seating and lighting are really well done, making it a great spot for a date night or happy hour. Pricing is solid too. I paid $13.50 for a burger and fries, and my beer was $6 during happy hour from 3 to 6 pm. The wait staff was friendly, and service was quick and attentive. My only real knock is the food itself. It is good, but not quite top tier. The burger had a nice texture, but the flavor felt a bit dull, and the fries were not as crisp or as memorable as I look for in truly great food. Seated upon entry within a handful of minutes on a Thursday evening night. Service was prompt, friendly, and helpful throughout the dining experience. My party of 3 arrived for the hoppy hour, which ends at 6pm. There's a fair selection of reasonably priced and decently filling options of food and drink alike I ordered the Eureka burger with the truffle cheese fries upgrade, fried pickles, and an IPA. I asked for medium rare on the burger, but instead got a medium rare. Nonetheless, the burger was actually quite enjoyable. It was juicy, slightly salty, buns were toasted well enough to give it the perfect firmness, and the sauce on the fires were great! The fried pickles were lightly battered, making them easy to snack on, as it wasn't particularly greasy or heavy. It comes with a garlic aioli that tasted great -- but was only halfway filled! Lastly, their beers are found on their in-house chalkboard, with different drinks on tap at any given moment. My IPA was hoppy and slightly bitter in all the best ways! The biggest miss during my visit to Eureka was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I think it's only natural to expect bathrooms to be restocked and ready for the dinner peak. Both the women's and men's bathrooms were either extremely low or completely missing essential bathroom supplies such as toilet paper toilet seat covers, soap, and paper towels! It was extremely disappointing to go to an unkept bathroom after a pleasant meal. Otherwise, I think Eureka's and their "hoppy hour" in particular deliver on fast, friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. Will be back soon! read more

I've always had a great experience at Eureka! I've tried many items on the menu, and everything has been consistently delicious. Also the place has a really great vibe. That said, there is one downside that stands out to me every time I visit. As someone who usually just gets water as for the drink, it's disappointing to only be offered tap water when asking for water. It feels like a small detail, but the taste is so bad and it would definitely elevate the overall experience if improved, especially considering how great the food and service already are. This is the only reason I'm giving four stars. Still, I highly recommend this place! read more

So disappointing. The nachos were extremely dry--there wasn't nearly enough cheese or toppings, and it honestly felt like I was just eating plain chips. The steak frites, which is supposed to be one of their best dishes, had an off flavor, almost like the grill wasn't properly cleaned before cooking the steak. My sister didn't say anything until she finished her meal because she doesn't like to complain but when we mentioned it to the waiter afterward, there was no effort to at least offer a partial discount on the steak. I stopped by here yesterday to celebrate my sister boyfriend birthday and we had a wonderful time. I made reservations ahead of time through Google. I was seated quick when I checked in toward the back where the booth is. The place has indoor seating and outdoor seating. We got the happy hour Eureka burger which was delicious, happy hour nachos and my sister got sweet potatoes fries. The happy hour is daily so that's always great. We enjoyed our experience here and our waitress was amazing but I forgot her name. The restaurant also leaves dog treats in the front for anyone walking their dog. read more

I ordered a home delivery of three salads, and overall the experience was pretty mediocre. The portions felt smaller than I expected. The packaging wasn't suitable for salads, which affected the overall experience. On top of that, the three salads with delivery came out to about $60, and in my opinion, it wasn't worth the price considering the presentation and how everything was served. Stopped in for early dinner, haven't been to Eureka in a while. Quickly sat near the bar, difficult spot for a bit while the sun set. Fri drinks we tried the wild child, strawberry lychee martini and vodka cranberry- all quickly brought out and well crafted. For the meal we ordered the southwest garden salad with chicken and the Fresno Fig burger. All delicious and big portions! Sadly no room for dessert. Check in was nice with the hostess. We got a table outside on the patio as it was quite nice out. Menu wise, burgers, salad, a couple of main, and a lot of starters. There something for everyone. They also have a good selection on wine and a full bar. Our waiter was the sweetest, didn't remember his name though. We started off with a bottle of wine which was nice. And the ahi poke stack for sharing. That was quite nice and flavorful. Never had it with black rice which was quite good and served with wonton chips. A perfect snack, could be a meal if you're wanting something light. Entrees, they had a deal for Wednesday with the double smash burger and fries for 9.00. Think it's half off. Also ordered the fish and chips which we were informed that it wasn't chips being served but potato. Substituted fries instead. And the fish tacos. Everything was quite nice. Fish tacos were actually pretty filling with fries, the fish was battered and cooked nicely. Smashed burger was ok, but the deal on Wednesday was great. Also had an extra side of onions rings. Service was nice, the atmosphere outside was great looking out to the walkway. People watching was great on the patio. Experience was nice, food was good, vibe was great. Still, it offers 3 types of seating -- at the bar with wide screen TVs overhead, tables in the main dining area, and a covered outdoor patio. Even with the TVs, the noise level was conducive to conversation. Pleasant greeting from the maître d'. Our server, Andrea, was upbeat and friendly. Delicious food and drinks here. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries, the bbq bacon burger with fries, the wild child and the old fashion. All were prepared well. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly a very disappointing experience. My wife and I just wanted something light for dinner, so we decided to order a few salads. We ordered three different ones, and unfortunately none of them were good. First of all, the order arrived without any utensils, which is basic and shouldn't be missed. The dressings were also not what we asked for, so right away the order was wrong. But the biggest issue was the food itself. The salads just didn't taste good at all, and they didn't seem fresh. You could tell just by looking at the color of the lettuce and vegetables that something was off. We ended up not enjoying any of it, and honestly it felt like a complete waste of money. We spent around $60 and still stayed hungry. As for the atmosphere, I have no idea since we didn't dine in, and at this point I probably won't. Very disappointing experience. First of all, it's a restaurant that has indoor and outdoor seating. You would think that would be the first question for them to ask or you want to sit? But no, the girl walked us to a table outside fully directly in the sun mind you this is Southern California. It was an 80° day. I cannot sit in the full sun and eat a meal. I asked if we could sit somewhere with shade and she moved us to another table. The service was extremely poor. Asked for water which did not come until much later in the service. Food was mediocre. Service was terrible. The only highlight was the fact that the manager, Connie, actually came and brought our food at some point. I feel bad for her. It must be really hard to get good employees these days because they were obviously shorthanded and the staff that they did have were distracted and inept. Will not be back. Nor recommend. read more

Much better experience this time around!! Happy to be enjoying this place more than our first few times. Maybe third times the charm like they say. We got here around 5:30pm on a Wednesday I believe and Taylor, our waitress, was an absolute sweetheart. Super friendly, helpful with some questions we had with specific cocktails on the menu, and always made sure to check up on us! Great service!! We might be coming here more often since my bf joined their members club or whatever and they do a little goodie bag thing monthly. We dined out in the patio this time around since the weather was absolutely perfect. We split a burger and shared the fried pickles from the happy our menu. Super enjoyable AND our waitress was able to apply ALL 3 of my $10 gift cards in one transaction! Not sure why they didn't allow more than one before, it was honestly absurd. The manager that night was also super nice and helpful with the member rewards program when we were having some issues with retrieving the gift. What Happened? Used to be our favorite spot I dont know what has happened this location? The Food quality and service has plummeted.. This last experience this evening left us with a bad taste in our mouth both literally and figuratively. Honestly it seems to be run by college kids and that goes about as well as you would expect it to... Hostess sitting us at a table with the umbrella mounted to the ground and the chair halfway into it. Needless to say we moved to a table that wasn't directly on the umbrella. Ordered both of our goto orders - Fresno Fig Burger & the Napa Chicken Sandwich. Fresno Fig Burger was a bit cold and undercooked, it's always a hit or miss when you get this as it depends on whos cooking the burgers. We have gotten amazing perfectly cooked ones and ones like today which was undercooked. Napa Chicken Sandwich - First Bite in and I was chewing literal FAT. The entire half of the napa chicken was a huge piece of fat. Not the most appetizing of bites. Called the waiter over let him see the piece i spit out and that the chicken literally could not be broken by hand... Inedible.. took the plate and mentioned he was going to let the manager know. 5 minutes later he came back, at that point i'm not attempting to eat chicken again... ordered something different. 15 minutes later my replacement order came the Philly cheesesteak. Onions completely raw barely kissed on the grill bread soggy... another miss... I stomached half of the sandwich. What a mess.. Manager finally comes when we ask for the check... 30 min or so after we returned the food. No apology just asks is everything ok? Shocked the manager doesn't know what the issue is before coming to the table? Did you Look at the returned plate? if you did you would have clearly seen the issue. I asked this, she said she "trusts" her server? The fact at no point the "Manager" doesn't say i'm sorry you got this inedible food or offers ANYTHING for the trouble... leaves a really bad taste in my mouth... We will not be returning.. I hope corporate sees this review and takes a hard look at both whos staffing and cooking in this location.. This used to be THE spot... Id recommend finding another place to get a $20 burger and fries. read more

There were 6 of us for an early dinner. The bartender and wait staff were very courteous and friendly. The atmosphere was a small eclectic bar with booths for dining. It was well lit and not loud. Because we arrived at 5pm, we got to take advantage of the Happy Hour. 4 had the Happy Hour burger, and I had the goat cheese citrus salad (too early for a full meal). The salad was very fresh and tasty. More than I could eat, so I picked out the goodies and left 1/2 of the mixed greens. Everyone loved their burgers and fries. Lots of boxes to go. The mac and cheese bites were super yummy, the nachos reminded me of Taco Bell in a good way, and the classic burger was solid although the onions were burnt. The BBQ burger was super tasty, and the array of beers was a hit. The Wild Child margarita was just okay for me, but overall the food and drinks made for a great visit. Customer service was super quick, and even it being a Friday night I was sat quickly. I loved the bar vibes, and how every TV has something different for everyone to choose from. I would definitely go back since there is more on the menu I want to try, and the prices are very fair for the portion sizes. read more
