We came here for lunch and we ordered Arroz con Mariscos and Patita con Maní. The good was delicious but unfortunately as I was finishing my last few bites I see an eyelash in my food! Totally grossed me out! Let them know and they did not even apologize. Yuck

Great food! Large portions! Excellent value!

Stopped by to give this place a try... NO REGRETS! Local, "Mom & Pop" restaurant. All food is prepared with care and expertise. All food was worth any delay. Hefty portions! Staff was warm and friendly. 100% Great food made with attention, care and pride--that's what you get here. We look forward to returning routinely.

Food was great, the service was fair, & the environment wasn't the best. Let's start with the food. The breaded chicken & the tacu tacu (beans & rice mixed & cooked together) were delicious. The chicken was nicely breaded & was also nice to chew. The rice & beans were flavored great & the onion salad made it all come together very nicely. The beef was cooked well, not raw or anything & the veggies had great flavor as well. The service was fair, kind of took a small while to get anyone's attention, & it seemed rushed. As for the environment, it was hot. The electricity went out right as we got our food so the restaurant started getting hot quickly. This made us rush a little bit as we were starting to sweat as we ate our food. All in all it was great food with unfortunate circumstances. I will definitely be trying this place again as I really did enjoy the food. Thank you

The food was great! But my plate needed a little more cooking, also the service was fair, I had to go look for someone because I was missing spoons or forks, I waited a long time for someone to take my order and they didn't come back when I asked them to. The ambience was kinda loud but it was just fine. But I have one complaint about my server when I was paying my bill she ask for a tip and then get mad because I didn't left her a tip. My service wasn't good so I didn't feel like she deserved it. Unbelievably!

I had a feeling that this would be pretty authentic given the neighborhood it was in. But when I walked in and all of the other customers were speaking Spanish and our server did not even speak English I knew it was authentic. Usually these hole in the wall places are the best and this did not disappoint. I ordered Lomo Saltado. The meat was tender and flavorful. My friend was trying to order a combo meal with chicken and beef but the language barrier got in the way and she brought him the same thing as me. He enjoyed it but was not what he wanted to order. If I'm ever in that area again I would definitely go back.

Very simple, if you don't wanna eat raw chicken don't come to this place. They gave the chicken raw and they didn't even care.

Really good authentic Peruvian food. The only thing I didn't like was that they put too much salt in the aguadito, but the rest was delicious

I was between the Tallarin de Mariscos or the Jalea but I did good. Ill just have to try the Jalea another time. Before we stop talking about the food the bread..... woah! The service was great Maria was informative and funny, Thanks for the laughs. See you again soon!

The dining experience is good, but because of the food, I give it a lower rating…read more When we came in, we were immediately greeted and brought to our table. We were given menus and a few minutes later asked if we wanted anything to drink, and if we were also ready to order. We asked for a few extra minutes. When I saw the menu, I thought, and should have stuck to my gut, that the "Peruvian style Chinese" is a what the hell does that mean situation. Man, did I go wrong for not giving that a hell naah! The waitress brought out some hot bread and butter, as well as cold iced waters for us. We than placed our order. We ordered a chaufa de pollo (chicken fried rice), parihuela (soup), and a jalea (fried seafood). When the food came, all the smells hit, and I just knew it was not what I wanted or expected. I was expecting awesome wok-charred fried rice. What I got was some barely wok-ed rice, no depth of flavor, but lots of a CHINESE flavor/seasoning. HORRIBLE, why would you do this?!? What the hell!!!! This is definitely not what Peruvian fried rice is. No where near what it should be. The parihuela is something I've never had, so I cannot compare it to any others, but from it being my first time trying this, this is what i think. I think it was actually pretty good. It had lots of seafood umami (flavor). It had great depth. It had lots of crab smell, but why no crab? None at all, just the smell. Lots of fish and squid. The jalea, yucca not fried enough, it was slightly under. Lots of lemon-ny red onions on top, which is great as it helps cut all the nasty feelings of eating fried stuff. Only two pieces of shrimps, that were small too! It had 4 pieces of fish, and the rest was calamari. I am fine with it, but the shrimps should be larger. The batter should be thinner. The pieces should be crispier. Nothing great about this dish. It's so easy, yet it was not thought of well enough to make it great. Don't waste your time or money here. It's not authentic. It's not great. It's just passable food. The best thing of this meal was the bread and butter, and the cold iced water. The service was good too, but the food was not up to par. I feel like they may have made my food according to us being Asian, but who knows and who cares, I don't plan on coming back.

If you're looking for REAL, authentic, soul warming Peruvian food with incredible flavors and even…read morebetter people behind it, Asumare Peruvian Cuisine is the place!!! This was one of those dining experiences that sticks with you, and not just because the food was amazing, but because the hospitality made it feel like you were being welcomed into someone's home. We started with the Yuca Frita with Huancaína, and it was the perfect introduction to the menu. The yuca fries were fried beautifully, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The huancaína sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. That yellow sauce had a subtle warmth and depth without overpowering the yuca. It was comforting, and impossible to stop dipping. Next up was the Lomo Saltado and woah this dish alone is worth the visit. We ordered it with ribeye and chicken thigh, and the combination was incredible. Everything was sauteed perfectly with onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, creating that classic savory, tangy, umami-packed flavor Peruvian cuisine is known for. The meat was tender and juicy, the vegetables were cooked just right, and the French fries soaked up all that flavor beautifully. Served alongside fluffy white rice, it was hearty, soooo satisfying, and incredibly well balanced. You could tell this dish was made with intention and experience. We also tried the calamari which was another solid hit. And a first for me! Lightly fried, tender, and not rubbery at all. It was clearly fresh and cooked properly. It paired really well with everything else on the table and made for a great shareable dish. But the real star of the night was a dish that completely surprised my partner and I! It ended up being our favorite dish, and it was the Tigre de Leche. THIS was hands down one of the freshest, most vibrant things we tried. The citrus was bold and super lemony, in the best way possible. You could taste the lime juice, the chile, onion, and cilantro all working together to create something bright, refreshing, and layered. It was zesty, slightly spicy, and incredibly clean tasting. One of those dishes where every spoonful wakes up your palate. If you're a ceviche fan or just love bold citrus flavors, do NOT skip this. It is a definite MUST try. Another thing that deserves a special mention is their iconic green sauce. It seriously went with everything we ordered. Creamy, herby, and just the right amount of kick, it elevated every dish from the yuca and calamari to the Lomo Saltado. We found ourselves reaching for it nonstop. Seriously one of those sauces you immediately wish you could take home. The customer service truly elevated the entire experience. Fabrisio, the owner, was phenomenal! He took the time to personally explain each dish, walk us through the flavors, and even share the story of how his restaurant came to be. You can feel the passion he has. Not just for Peruvian cuisine, but for creating a welcoming space for people to enjoy it. Super nice guy, super chill, and genuinely down-to-earth. The whole place gave off strong family vibes, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Shoutout to Melissa as well, who was serving us. She was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. The service felt thoughtful and personal, not transactional. Over all we had the best experience, truly. Whether you're new to Peruvian food or already love it, this spot is a gem. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. We will be back and have already recommended this place to my family and friends! Thanks so much for having me. :D
