Inside a newish "public market" in Van Nuys, this is one of the newest Peruvian food booths. I tried their Arroz Chaufa Bowl but all I got was mostly rice. Very little egg, meat, scallions. It was mostly all rice. In my opinion, their dishes are priced too high for its quality. The prices are at the level of restaurants. First impressions count and unfortunately doesn't make me want to try any other dish.

First time coming to El Agachadito to indulge in some delicious and sentimental food--and it delivered! I originally found them on Instagram, back when they were cooking out of someone's backyard with lines of people and good vibes all around. Since I live in West LA and they're in the San Fernando Valley, I hadn't made the trip--until recently. I finally visited their new brick-and-mortar spot with a friend, and wow, everything we ordered was amazing. We went on a weekend morning and I was so ready for the pan con chicharrón--YUM. We got a spread: tamal with sarsa criolla, plátanos fritos, pan con chicharrón, lomito al jugo, pan con lomo saltado, and two maracuyá drinks. We ordered the pan con lomo saltado by mistake, but no regrets--it made for a perfect dinner later! Peruvian cuisine is truly next-level. The mix of ingredients, sauces, chiles, and textures creates a mouthwatering experience. The place was packed with happy customers, and the energy was bright and joyful. Bonus: I found out it's part of a larger shared kitchen space with other food vendors. Can't wait to come back--highly recommend! Chim pum callao!

It was our first time trying a restaurant down here in this little food court and this place caught our eye! I had ordered the Saltado and Comanoche. They have so many options on their menu! It was about a 20 minute wait for them to make the food, but it was well worth it. We got the food to go and they gave us all of the different sauces in to-go containers. There was so much food that the lid was not able to close and we were so excited to try it! All of the sauces were so flavorful and I recommend trying all of them! Only the really red one is super spicy. Their portions were large enough for two meals! Both foods were delicious and I really enjoyed my saltado bowl. This was definitely a great place to try and I would love to come again soon!

A Peruvian Uber driver told me about this place. He told me it was just a little spot in a food court. I found it fine for its place in the food world that is the greater Los Angeles area. They only do 5 items. All good. If you're in the area and hungry this spot will fill your Peruvian food need. I came here after Chio's Peruvian Grill down the street. The anticuchos were just as good if not better Here. The Mollejitas are excellent

I've had these photos sitting in my camera roll for quite some time, and I kept telling myself,…read more"I'll leave a review soon." When I finally logged into Yelp to do just that, I was genuinely saddened to see that this place has since closed. It honestly broke my heart, because this was one of those dining experiences that truly stayed with me. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance was stunning--beautiful rooftop vibes, warm energy, and a space that immediately made you feel like you were about to experience something special. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully executed, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. You could taste the care, creativity, and intention behind each bite. The Peruvian inspiration throughout the menu was both authentic and elevated, striking the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was the chef herself coming out to introduce herself. She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate. You could tell she truly poured her heart into her food. She took the time to explain the inspiration behind the dishes, and it made the entire meal feel even more meaningful. That level of personal touch is rare and so appreciated. Looking back at these photos now just reminds me how special this place was. Delicious food, a talented and thoughtful chef, and an overall experience that left a lasting impression. It's such a shame this spot is no longer around, because it truly deserved all the love and recognition. If the chef ever opens another concept, I will absolutely be first in line. Thank you for such a memorable meal--this is one I won't forget.

It's a small open air space, and it can get full right at dinner time, but if you go right as they open at 5pm, you'll be fine without reservations. The menu is limited, but it's all delicious! The Yuca Fries are a must! Fried and topped with chorizo. All of the sides sounded really good, but these are the best! The thigh meat chicken skewers are perfectly sauced, and can be ordered as an appetizer to be shared by two. All of the main dishes are meant to be shared. The prices are up there for the portions, but it's all a real treat for the taste buds, and the view is great! Highly recommend.

They do not mess around with their portion sizes! I got the lomo saltado and that could literally be split between three people. The meat was juicy and tender and the fries and onions and tomatoes were cooked very well. The rice was also well prepared. Even though I don't really drink soda, I had to get the traditional Peruvian Inca soda which pairs so nicely with the food. They also start you off with the fresh yummy bread and butter. The staff is very sweet and the service is really good. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes. They have a parking lot that is shared with the other business in the strip mall. The place is popular and will get busy on Fridays and weekends especially. But worth the wait.

Dried bread and dipping sauces were brought while we perused the menu. Our food came quick. First was the chicken soup we ordered as an appetizer. It was delicious! Warning - the red salsa side dish is super hot. We tested it first, added a small splash, and loved it. Next was a sliced beef and marinated onion sandwich. It was well filled and really tasty, our favorite of the night. The green salsa that comes with it is a perfect compliment - savory and spicy like a molé, but not too hot. We will order this again. Then came the beef heart, not a dish for everyone, but a personal favorite. Seasoned with a great dry rub and cooked on wood skewers, it was on par with the best yakitori I have ever had. What made it even better, however, were the sides. The hominy was perfectly chewy and seasoned. Mixed with the green salad, the potato chunks, and some of the green and white dipping sauces, well, it was an excellent compliment to the dense beefiness of the roasted heart chunks. OTOH, the salsa that comes with the beef heart, while full of chopped scallions and such, was far too sour for my taste. It was like pure lime juice. I tasted it and set it aside, only adding a few bits into my mix of sides. The final nice touch was the price. Total for three dishes was $40 before tax and tip. We will be back. The closest public parking lot is a couple blocks to the north, but we found a metered spot right out front. I didn't like that the meter needed a credit card or app, but that's the way things are going.

The ceviche had the freshest seafood but was also very sour. My eyes got a workout from involuntarily squinting from the sourness. It paired well with the choclo, corn nuts (forgot the name), and sweet potato. The lomo saltado was good but I'd recommend having it before the ceviche (before your taste buds go for a wild ride). Service was impeccable and I've never felt so well tended to, in such a warm, hospitable way too. Definitely a gem in Highland Park and I'd love to come back to try their rotisserie chicken.
