I ate a banana before having a sip and it actually taste like banana milk tea which is amazing but I don't think it would taste like banana milk if I didn't eat a banana right before. lol anyways you can tell the tea is quality tea and the milk is creamy. Can't ask for anything more. The boba is soft and chewy. Good stuff. Will try some additional flavors which I hear change seasonally. Absolutely phenomenal! We ordered the grape oolong tea with konjac jelly, and it was SO good! The grape flavor was authentic and not artificial at all. I'm usually not a fan of boba or anything I have to chew in my drinks, but I'm really glad I ordered this tea as is. The grape bits were delicious, and the konjac jelly paired beautifully with the tea. The tea itself was delicious and left such a nice mouth feel! Sugar levels offered were none, light, and perfect. Perfect was indeed perfect! I don't think it needed to be adjusted at all. My drink came with strings for carrying convenience, and I love that the sticker had Taiwan on it too. This new location even has a tea brewing demonstration, which is something different and really fun to watch. Drinks are still just as great as always -- Chi Cha never disappoints! If I had to take off a star, it would be for two small issues. First, the cashier didn't speak any English. When I asked which drinks could be served hot, there was no response until I switched to Mandarin. I also noticed other customers who only spoke English had a hard time communicating and ordering, so it seems like a consistent issue. I think it's important for cashiers to be able to communicate in both languages to better help everyone. Second, my order ended up being a little off -- probably because of the language barrier (and my own not-so-great Chinese ). It wasn't a big deal though, and I understand how it happened. Visited the new Arcadia store during their soft opening (10/17-10/19)! I got there early enough to be one of the first 20 customers and received a free drip tea bag -- super lucky! Mine was a Light to Medium Roast with lovely floral notes. It smelled amazing -- I took a sip and found it light and fragrant. My dad liked it even more, said it had that gentle "aftertaste sweetness." As always, my go-to drink is Green Tea Cream with Coconut Jelly -- smooth, rich, and great either hot or iced. Staff were well-trained and friendly; drinks came out in about 5-10 minutes, which is really good for a soft opening. Definitely coming back again! read more

Stopped by to pick up drinks for my family after doing some errands. This place is within 10 minutes of my home, much closer than the San Gabriel location and with better parking. Because I went during the soft opening period, there wasn't a lot of people in the store. I ordered four drinks, they were all ready within 5-10 minutes. Drink Quality: As expected with Chicha, the quality of the tea is excellent, very mild and tasteful. A Price: Expensive. Approximately 7.25 plus tax for the drink. Upper-end of the market, and the store is not marketing towards price-conscious consumers. But here, they make the tea to order, so you have to factor that in as well. Also in a higher-end community. B+ Ambiance/Service: Very attentive. The cashier even offered a sample drink to me, which was nice. A Overall Rating: A/A-. One of my favorite milk tea shops in the SGV, and I'm happy I don't have to drive to San Gabriel/Alhambra to get it. The tea here is great! I think they have some of the best boba in California. Soft boba and fragrant tea. The store itself is beautiful and clean inside since it's so new. As for service, the workers I've met are very kind and helpful, they give samples for tea too! I will say, they might benefit from having some staff who can communicate fluently in English as well. There were 2 times where I asked a question and the employee helping me couldn't understand me and no one helped her either. Tea is good but this location needs to work out their timing. Came into the store on a Saturday afternoon. There were some people waiting for their drinks but only 3 people in line in front of me. I waited 20 full minutes for my one drink. There is no reason for anyone to wait that long for tea when the store is not packed. They have a ton of online orders so might be why in-store orders take so long. Would never order a drink in-store anymore unless no one is inside cause it was already pretty empty when I went in. read more

Tried to substitute boba for grass jelly on their volcano boba drink, they wouldn't let me because it wasn't an option on their POS system. Asked to remove boba entirely and was informed then don't have the ability to do it due to their pos system. Was informed to build a drink instead with what we wanted. We didn't see a simple milk tea option but instead was given a list of different teas and creamy toppings. Ended up getting the boba volcano drink because we couldn't build anything similar without caffeine. Ordered some fruit teas as well (classic fruit tea+passion fruit tea). Asked for less sugar and less ice for both. Informed they had only two options for sugar on the classic fruit tea :"perfect" and "none". Was informed that there wasn't an option to put any other amount of sugar. For the passion fruit tea, we wanted to add additional toppings and was given the option list. We wanted taro balls but once again was informed that we could not add it because the POS system would not allow it and it would be weird. Ended up not adding anything to the drinks in the end. We had no issue paying the full price of the drinks to have items removed or paying additional to customize them to our liking. We tried but were met with failure due to not being allowed to customize the drinks by the POS system. Cashier also informed us that they cannot deviate from what the register allows them to do. How hard is it to simply not add boba to a drink Or even add an available topping to a drink while being charged full price? read more

Very happy that this location exists and it finally opened! Had the Ding Dong oolong milk tea, and despite having normal ice and light sugar, it tasted a liiiittle watered down. Service is still in training, but I noticed they would put the finished drinks out on the counter but couldn't seem to decide who calls out the orders. they were not very accommodating or helpful at all... :(. i ordered an dong ding oolong milk tea w boba and when i received my drink, i noticed there was no boba in it. i didn't notice that the cashier didn't put boba in my drink and i would've been okay with no boba, but the service i received trying to ask for it was not good. i was trying to gain their attention for 5-6 minutes and when i finally did, they told me i wasn't allowed to add boba/buy boba again without buying an entirely new drink. just seemed kinda unfair seeing that it a mistake on the cashiers part. and on top of that, their service was below satisfactory, which made this experience worse. in addition, my mothers drink (honey green tea) did not taste right at all-- she's gotten this multiple times, but this time the honey taste was not prominent and it was overall super sweet when we got no sugar. read more

I went back again recently and this time selected no ice for my drink. When my drink order was ready for pick up, there was ice in my drink. To confirm I had the right drink I checked the drink label which did have no ice printed on it. Then, I asked the worker why there was ice when it clearly showed no ice in my order. Her response was,"No ice is a topping". This literally makes no sense at all. How can that even be possible?! No just means no period, not less, a little, some or a lot. I mean, if you just were upfront and said we forgot and added ice or something that actually made logical sense then that would be okay and understandable because hey, mistakes happen and this really isn't even that big of a deal. But don't lie and make BS excuses to your paying customers because it just lacks integrity on your business service. So, yes while their drinks are good, albeit expensive, they are also at least in this particular case dishonest. read more
