We went for lunch on a Sunday. This place is so underrated!! Their meats are soo good - we had the pork hock and salted duck, and both taste so authentic and are perfectly seasoned. This would be so good if you just came for the meat + rice/noodles plate, but we wanted to try a bunch of different things. We also got the shumai and the wontons which were also delicious. Best of all, if you go for lunch you get a free drink. We got the HK milk tea and the lemon black tea which both hit our cravings and transported us back to HK. We'll definitely be back. Don't miss out on some very good HK food and fantastic lunch deal!

First dinner in Seattle, Washington with my niece... After graduating from Rice University in Houston, my niece landed a job in Seattle. I volunteered to help her move into her new apartment. To celebrate, we decided to go to a Chinese restaurant called "Cheers! Hong Kong" It did not disappoint! From the moment we entered the beautifully decorated establishment to the end of our delicious meal, the server was attentive, welcoming, and cheerful! We shared the Roast Duck platter which came with buns, plum sauce, and sliced cucumbers to make little sandwiches. There also was another dipping sauce and a powder that went well with the boneless duck and cucumbers! My niece let me eat all of the crispy duck skin from the remainder of the duck - so she could take the leftover duck meat to work for lunch the next day! We also shared the Shrimp Dumplings that were a Happy Hour special! The wrapper was thin, not starchy, and held the filling in well! I saw the Signature Frozen bear Lemon Iced tea on the menu and had to have it! The cute bear is made from Iced tea so it doesn't dilute the taste! Isn't that clever?!?!? Overall, this was a fantastic experience! We were the first customers of the day and had the whole place to ourselvesfor a while before other people arrived. Thanks for taking us in without reservations! We really enjoyed our visit!

We were excited to dine at Cheers! Hong Kong after reading all of the reviews on Yelp! The venue itself looks inviting, with cozy booths and a large photo mural of the Hong Kong skyline. When we first sat down, we were immediately greeted by servers and given water and an opportunity to order drinks (we both got Lychee Old Fashioneds). The menu had a great array of options, and we sampled a lot of dishes. There were some good dishes, but overall, we were pretty disappointed with our food. Many of the dishes felt overly processed. It tasted like the food was bought in bulk, frozen, and then cooked and seasoned. Some dishes were good; many were dry and bland. -The Lychee Old Fashioned: I love the concept, but it ultimately did not work. The Lychee flavor was good but the other ingredients (bourbon, orange, bitters) did not stand up to it. It also felt diluted. I'd recommend a stronger bourbon; this needed a burn to accent the sweet notes. Crispy Squid. The picture on the menu showed different cuts of calamari (rings and tentacles, all lightly breaded). What we got was large rings, the size of onion rings. These were well seasoned and sauced. However, the texture of the squid felt off. This is one example of a dish that feels like it was frozen, thawed and heated per order. Nanjjing Salted Duck. Served cold. One of the better dishes. It was well seasoned and the lemon chili sauce was nice. HK Classic Boa. This dish immediately fell apart. It was heavy sauced, and the boa bun ripped in half. Despite the saucing, the pork hock felt dry and bland. Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs. This was very flavorful. The best dish of the night. House Sweet Chili Chicken. Decent flavor but another dry dish. This also feels like it was previously frozen and then heated and sauced. Garlic String Beans. This was the weakest dish of the night. Despite wanting some green on our pates, we barely touched this dish. The beans were soggy and had a weird oily-creamy texture. There was very little garlic flavor. BBQ Beef Dumplings Another failure. I wouldn't guess BBQ if it wasn't in the name. Very dry, and overcooked. Pork Shu Mei. Very dry and lacking flavor. It tasted better with added chili oil. We had a lot of items, but this was still a very pricy dinner, especially since we didn't finish a lot of the dishes. It looks like Cheers! HK Had a lot of strong dishes when they opened, but we did not have that experience tonight. I hope they are able to finesse their dishes in the future. In the meantime, there are some more authentic (and flavorful options) in the ID. Id give it 2.5 stars (but halves not allowed).

Oh man, this place had cool decor and I wanted to like it, but it was such a disappointment. Maybe expecting a somewhat authentic Hong Kong restaurant in Capitol Hill was a mistake to begin with. We got Hai Nan chicken rice and grilled chicken rice and both were equally disappointing. The chicken was on the dryer side and it is nothing like the real Hai Nan chicken but more so salted chicken? (鹽水雞) and because of the location so it wasn't cheap either.

Cute little cafe with an extensive menu of small eats. I didn't sit down for a larger meal but the small appetizer plates were great, with the hainan chicken being a standout - very good flavor without drowning in sauce or anything. The pork and dill dumplings were wayyy too dill-y for my taste, but I'm very excited and curious to come back and try more!

I got to try quite a few of their dishes by ordering 2 of the Seattle Restaurant Week sets with my friends, which means I can definitively say this restaurant is mid. Seattle is a city with some amazing Cantonese cuisine and this place does NOT get to join the ranks of Hong Kong Bistro and crew in International District with that status. Besides the food not being amazing, I would disagree with the other reviews touting the reasonable pricing - the serving sizes are small to average and I certainly wouldn't be impressed if I was paying full price. Pork Shrimp Siu Mai (3.75/5): Strong mushroom flavor. Solid, but nothing to write home about. Beef Chow Fun (1.75/5): Super bland, literally not enough salt much less other items. The noodles are super odd texture - they needed to be rehydrated more; instead of a bouncy texture, they would just disintegrate. House Fried Chicken Wings (4.25/5): My favorite item I got to try. These came out piping hot, super crunchy, while still being juicy and tender inside. Good sodium levels and a bit of white pepper to cut through the grease. Ovaltine Lava Toast (4/5): Think a french toast sandwich dusted with cocoa powder and a malty custard inside. Baked Tomato Sauce Braised Beef Spaghetti (2/5): Braised beef was actually cooked really well, but the sauce and spaghetti was just the not good, one dimensional and I didn't want more than 2 bites. Classic Roast Duck (3.75/5): The duck itself was savory and pretty moist. The accoutrements were really odd - the pickled radish completely overpowered the duck. Note, this is roast duck, not Peking style roast duck, so no crispy skin and eats a bit oilier. BBQ Pork Fried Rice (3.75/5): Good char and they've done a good job of coating every individual rice grain with fat and flavor. The BBQ pork was a bit chewy and didn't have a strong flavor.

Looks like HK-style cha chaan tengs are expanding upwards from the CID since we now have this place! I'm pretty excited since I ate a good bunch of similar restaurants like this in Chinatown from back when I was little. I got here with a friend on a Saturday night around 7pm, and it wasn't too full inside. There's an ambience similar to that of other HK restaurants I've been to, especially that of Imperial Kitchen in Belltown; there's pictures of both city lights and HK's skyline but without the city lights. The menu consists of regular cha chaan teng favorites I usually see in similar restaurants in the CID. Service was also fast and prompt. My friend and I ordered the following: - The pork shrimp wonton in chili was probably our most favorite in that it was fresh, hot and not too spicy. - The garlic string beans was definitely a must to get here; it wasn't too garlicky and tasted just right. - The siu mai was all right, just your usual as if you were going for dim sum elsewhere. - The curry chicken on rice was a relatively smaller portion than what I expected given it's a rice fish but the meat tasted great. - The baked curry braised beef on rice was also really good to eat. Very filling and cheesy, and the rice to cheese ratio was just right. This place is relatively pricey compared to other HK-style cafes in the CID, and Cap Hill is notorious for being difficult to find parking around peak hours, so these two factors keep me from coming back anytime soon. When I do, I will try their other stuff.

I think this is a great spot for happy hour when you want some good bits but not fantastic. This place had a nice atmosphere where it was cozy and well lit and decorated. However the food was a bit lacking in terms of flavor. Start of the siu mai, it didn't taste super traditional to me. Not sure if this was something they were going for or what...like didn't feel super meaty like what I would get at dim sum places and felt more grainy (like flour?) The noodles were on the blend side but still good. The pork short ribs were good but leaned a bit sweeter than what I'm used to sadly...

This place was kinda how I imagined it to be, more fusion with American food than authentic Hong Kong food. It was okay overall. Food wise, it wasn't too bad. We got 5 appetizers and 6 entrees. I got the curry braised beef, the beef was pretty tender but the curry sauce just didn't taste like authentic curry sauce. The braised beef with rice roll was pretty good though. The baked rice with tomato sauce tasted mid, the sauce was too tomato-e (a little too sour). Service wise, the servers were nice! But the food took quite a while to come out. One dish took like almost 30 minutes. Ambiance wise, the restaurant is small but the vibe looks cool. Clean also. It has a bar too, which is cool if you are into that.

So great to have a Hong Kong restaurant on Capitol Hill! I absolutely love the signature duck, the skin is so crispy. They also have dimsum for dinner and the siu mai is huge. The drink selection is a favorite too - the bear lemon tea is too cute and the red bean smoothie has the right amount of sweetness.

A fun little place at the end of Broadway that was just opened several months ago. The decorations are cute though the seating feels a little bit tight. The foods are overall good but they taste more like fusion Hong Kong dishes. We ordered 8 dishes: . Curry fish ball: tastes ok but the curry flavor is not strong enough . Salt and pepper squid: Squids are fresh but need more seasoning. . Shrimp dumplings: shrimp are also fresh but the dumplings skin break easily . Wontons in chili sauce: packed with great flavor (both the wontons and sauce) . Beef chow fun: mediocre as it misses the most important part which is the wok flavor. . Shrimp with egg over rice (black pepper sauce): our favorite dish of the day. The sauce is heavenly! . Sizzling pot with beef and Sizzling pot with curry beef: Both are great. Beef is really tender. They also gave a free drink for each person during lunch and their Hong Kong milk tea is really good. The price overall is acceptable considering it's on Broadway. Service is was also attentive so we will come again to try other dishes.

    HK Milk tea. Very authentic
    Flora Z.

I really love the drinks no matter it is milk tea or smoothie. It is authentic, and customizable. I enjoyed my unsweetened robust iced milk tea. The aroma was unique and so familiar. The Hainan Chicken was pretty different from the traditional Hainan Chicken. The chicken had too much sauce and too soft. The deco was very HK-like with late-night HK scenes. The waitresses were super nice.

Beef rice roll, Classic Roasted Duck, Crunchy Daikon Chinese Olive Fried Rice, Cucumber Salad
    Katrina C.

New Hk style cafe in Cap Hill- a little small with 10 tables but they do have a party room upstairs. The classic duck was flavorful with super crispy skin. A bit expensive in my opinion for $30. The daikon and olive fried rice and beef rice rolls were good classics! The cucumber salad was lacking flavor since it didn't have a sauce or dressing on top so I would skip that one.

I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.

This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much. There are so many other items on the menu that I'm eager to try, so I will definitely be back.

The wife scoffed at the idea that there's such a thing as too much chili oil and ate some of his soup. This was after she dug into her hot pot. I did get a chance to sample the delicate pork pieces and the flavorful rice. The slightly crispy rice at the bottom of the pot were so delicious. I had the Singapore style fried noodles. Really tasty. The noodles had so many flavors from the vegetables to the meats (shrimp, chicken meat & egg, and pork) and the sauce. I enjoyed the meal, and look forward to discovering more dishes to try on our adventures trying to find parking. JuFeng, thank you for the delicious meal!

I have a problem with Chinatown. Almost none of the restaurants have websites and those that do…read moretend to be outdated or even have dead links. Also, when did we start calling it, "The International District". If we had Mexican, Italian and other ethnic restaurants in the neighborhood, I'd get on board, but not only do San Francisco, New York and L. A. have the biggest Chinatowns, cities also have Barrio's and Little Italy's, so clearly cultures are ok with us specifying. A friend brought up Scallion Beef, so I did a search, Scallion Beef is sometimes called Ginger Beef, so H Bistro came up in my results. Initially, I wondered if H Bistro was Hong Kong Bistro and they rebranded, but HKB is still in business and around the corner and not very good mind you. Reviews for H Bistro are strong and the photo's convinced me that this should be a better than average meal. People talked about the lunch special and since I had a meeting downtown in the afternoon, I thought I could pop in here before my meeting. Once there I was sat. I didn't see lunch on the menu, so I asked and was told, lunch was no longer offered. Again, with no website, I had to rely on Yelp so despite reviews from 2024 talking about lunch, it's not longer offered. I got the Ginger Beef and asked if they did soup by the cup and was also told no. That is why Chinese Lunch is so popular, you typically get soup, rice, entrée and even an appetizer. That is a full meal. I just had my entrée and rice. I asked for chili oil and was brought a very small portion, It had good flavor, but no heat. The entree was good, but without soup and appetizer it just wasn't well rounded. Also, the food would have benefited from being served on a hot iron plate. Not only does it add sear, but it keeps the dish hot. Post meal, I had hoped for a cookie and despite being a block from the fortune cookie factory, no cookie was served. Would I return, sure, with a large group, that would be the only way to truly experience the menu. With 2 people I could have added soup and appetizer as the entrée is also large enough for 2. That said, this was one the cleaner places in Chinatown. That is not to say Chinatown is dirty, but many restaurants need paint, have old furniture or have water stains. This place was fairly nice inside and could be classy with a few more bucks invested. This place really shot itself in the foot by discontinuing lunch, despite being decent, there was just too much disappointment today.

Most importantly, the food is also consistently good, which is hard to find in an Asian restaurant. The interior is clean and comfortable, making it a perfect spot to bring large groups of friends or family to socialize and eat. Where this place shines is the the dim sum. My favorite go to is always: - Shrimp Hacao (huge pieces!) - Pork Shu Mai (tasty and huge as well) - Beef or BBQ rice roll - Pan fried Taro Cake - Pan fried Radish Cake - Radish Cake with XO Sauce (this is a big portion and recommended if you have a larger group) All their dishes always comes out piping hot! My favorite tea to wash this all down is Buddha tea. I like the buddha tea because it's less bitter than others and has a golden taste to it. Honestly with the exception of the spare ribs, everything on the dim sum menu is pretty good, I just need to bring a bigger group of people so we can just try everything on the menu!

The preparation is different than the Egyptian style. The pigeon is deep fried with marinated sauce. It was delicious. Price is high for single pigeon. We also got the intestines kidney noodle soup.
