Disappointed in this cute little restaurant. Service was extremely slow, friendly with a fake smile. You know the one I mean when they are trying to smile but it just doesn't work because of the attitude they have isn't happy. Two different music playing at the same time. Pick a song already. Very distracting and hard to have a conversation with the people at our table. The quality of the food was also disappointing. We arrived soon after they opened and the food was hot but tasteless. The Ham in our eggs seemed it was right out of a bag or can and the flavor was awful. The bacon was either cooked the day before or also precooked out a bag. We have been past this cafe many times, as we live nearby. It always happened to be after closing time. Today we hit it right! Got there just after noon. I ordered the Southwestern omelette with a side of bacon, biscuit and gravy. Hubby had the 3 stack bacon pancakes with a side of home fries. Everything was DEEE-licious! And yes, as someone else mentioned the gravy is peppery - sooooo good! We were happily stuffed when we left! We will be back to try their lunch menu. The breakfast was very mediocre at best. I am a big biscuits and gravy fan and these were very bland tasting. The gravy was basically white gravy with a small amount of pepper. No refills were even offered on coffee and the place was not busy at all. 32$ for two people for bland breakfast is not worth it in my opinion. It tastes like they use very cheap ingredients as well. More of a psa than a review. Can't speak to the food or service. My guess is they are terribly understaffed. We put our names (party of 2) on their sign in sheet and we're behind about 3-4 other parties. It's a small restaurant and you can see inside to all the tables. 80% were empty but unbussed for the 40 or so minutes we waited. The groups ahead of us were finally called in but we made a decision to leave because we assumed that it would also take a very long time to get our meal. Place was cute, looked like several locals in the place. Issue was are waitress, I asked about country fried steak, was told it was made in house with a piece of Sirloin steak. Also asked about the corn beef hash. We were informed it was great made fresh everyday, everything was chopped and combined in house. What a surprise we got country fried steak was a piece of chopped steak breaded, what u get a most places. Corn beef hash was out of a can no way made fresh chopped in house. This is what u get at most places, we were hoping for better. Just wish she would have been truthful, or maybe said I don't know. We asked a local resident of Blue Ridge for a breakfast place recommendation and they told us to go to Bumblebees. So we did. I wish I could say it was the best breakfast ever, but honestly it was just ok. The good: The place is clean and inviting. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly. The food was hot. The "meh": The food. The grits were a good consistency but desperately needed salt and butter. The biscuit was dense and did not taste overly fresh - kind of suspect it had been microwaved to warm it up. The French toast was ok - nothing special about it. The prices seemed a little on the higher side. So, would I return? I would probably look for a different place to try first. read more

Blue Ridge doesn't seem to have an over abundance of breakfast restaurants to choose from, so we gave this one a shot for the first time today. Our party of 4 was promptly seated and our drink orders taken and delivered. While the food tasted ok, it took far too long to be cooked & served. Beyond that, our breakfasts came out missing portions, some of which weren't brought out until after everyone had finished eating. I suppose it's about supply & demand. With limited other options to choose from, this place will have to do, just head into it knowing it's not going to be quick. Good example of what we've learn to embrace as expecting things on "mountain time". Food was seriously just "ok". What was not "ok" was the fact that they charged a 20% tip automatically and a $3.54 "admin fee" (don't even know what that is) WITHOUT informing the customer. When paying the bill, they said the amount was $88.49 which my husband paid. He said there was no place to put a tip so he went back to the table and put a cash tip on the table. When looking at the receipt later, he saw that they added the tip and an admin fee but did not inform us for a total of $109.72. The waitress that took our order was less than friendly and never refilled our coffee. The waitress that brought our food out was friendly, but we still had to ask for more coffee. read more

Despite a sign in the window saying they were short staffed, we were greeted quickly. Our waitress came to the table and took our order promptly. The food came out timely and was good. The five stars is mostly for the great and very friendly service. The food is not exactly Brennan's (https://www.brennansneworleans.com/), but I trust no one would expect that! If only for the food, I'd give 4 stars. Some of these bad reviews sound more like the reviewers were having bad days themselves. We are here for Memorial Day weekend and may come back another day in this trip. I recommend this place for a good, basic breakfast. read more

Quaint sized restaurant about 20 to 30 table tops. When we went there was only one cook and one waitress who also cleaned dishes and sat everybody. There's a sign saying they're short staffed and please be patient. My wife had eggs Benedict and I had a salad. It was really good! Food is fairly priced. If you're in the area I would recommended. We had our last breakfast in Blue Ridge this morning at BumbleBee's. I ordered the Southwestern omelet with bacon instead of ham, and asked that they scramble the eggs instead of serve as an omelet. It could have been really good, except it was served a little cold and the cheese wasn't quite melted. I did appreciate that they have Cholulua hot sauce on hand. Overall, the cafe had a sweet Southern charm, but the food was pretty average. This was one of the few times I think I would have preferred a breakfast chain restaurant over a small business. read more

Husband and I visited from Florida about two weeks ago. Came in for breakfast on Saturday morning around 10am. Both my husband and I ordered a plate of two eggs, homestyle potatoes, bacon/sausage and pancakes. The food was nothing fancy, good in a "homey" type way. I could taste the quality of the ingredients so I appreciated that. Couple complaints is that it seemed disorganized and a tad hectic- not enough staff it seemed like. I could see customers around me getting angsty, looking around for a waitress to come help them. I saw one guy even chase a waitress down for some ketchup (after his breakfast sat for 10 min waiting for someone to check up). Customers having to get up and ask for their bill so they could leave. It was very difficult to flag someone down for service. The staff was all nice, & I understand if they're short staffed but it does not leave a good impression. We were about to leave after waiting over 30 min but our food came out as soon as we decided. Next, the pancakes, I only ate the top of it because the bottom was burnt. Of course the burnt side was served facing down, I'm assuming to hide it. The pancakes were also very doughy and thick, not my favorite. I didn't bother letting the waitress know about the pancake issue because we didn't have time to waste. read more
