    BLT with fruit
    Jessica L.

This was an okay spot- the service was great, even though their sign says they are short staffed. We got sat within about 20 minutes on a Sunday late morning. I ordered the BLT, but was missing mayo! It was a bummer, but I do like how you can order fruit, tots, or a few other options for the side. I probably would try a different restaurant when I'm in the area again, but it was a cute outdoor area where we waited to be sat. The service was really and truly top notch, and all the servers were so lovely.

Three stars means okay so that's what BumbleBee's gets from me! The food was just barely okay, the service was just barely okay and the wait time all around was not okay. We waited about 10 minutes then one of the servers put a sign out saying to sign into a spiral notebook and wait outside where we waited another 10 minutes. Yes, there is a very large sign in the window that says they are short staffed but apparently it's been there for a couple few years now so not sure how relevant it is. Seems more staff could have been added by now! Our order was taken shortly after we were seated so that was good! The 45 minute wait for our food definitely wasn't good!! For what we ordered and what was delivered, there's no way it should have taken that long, even if there was only one cook! I got a tuna melt sandwich and hubby got the corned beef hash and eggs. The tuna melt is small, just on regular white bread like at home, and sadly there was no tomato. The tater tots were hot, that's always a plus! The eggs were cooked as ordered but the corned beef is straight out of the can, barely warmed up. The bacon was way over cooked and the French toast was very soggy. We ate all our food, it was edible although very lacking in so many areas. We were just traveling through town so not sure what else is available in the area but unfortunately, I can't recommend Bumblebee's.

    Interior, so cozy!

Such a great mom-n-pop feeling diner! The food was all incredible & the staff was so friendly. The tuna melt was delicious as was the fried okra side. Cute interior!

This resturaunt literally turned us down for having a party of 7. We have nothing else to say except that is absolutely ridiculous the hostess says they only have one cook and they won't take us because we have a party of seven. I wish I could say something about their food. I will never go back to this resturaunt. How absolutely insane.

The crust had a nice texture, the pepperoni was flavorful, and the hot honey gave it just the right amount of sweetness and heat without overpowering everything else. But honestly, the Ralph sauce stole the show. It was so good that we ended up buying some to take home because there was no way we were leaving without it. Definitely a must-try if you stop in. The market itself is also really cute and has a great selection of fresh pastas, sauces, and other Italian goodies to browse. Pro tip: check out the samples of the sauce in the front! (and definitely tempted us to buy more ). Service was friendly and accommodating throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. Between the welcoming service, unique restaurant/market atmosphere, fresh ingredients, and seriously good food, this is definitely somewhere I'd absolutely come back, especially for that flatbread and Ralph sauce!

The table they sat me at was dirty, so I used my napkin to wipe it but was still hopeful. I ordered Ralph's pasta being told yes- this is fresh pasta made here. Well, it came out piping hot, like microwave hot. Just looking at it - i knew it was not fresh pasta so I asked how did they make it. Was told boiled and strained right on site. No - they don't have a pasta machine. ok - so I thought my bad for assuming the pasta market would have great pasta. Sauce - salty, I'm assuming canned. No fresh saved parm - and 1/2 the bowl was full of water. The few bites I had was not great. Was not asked why I did not eat it and was not asked if I wanted to take it home. $18 for 15 min and a bad lunch . I wish I could have been blown away here since I'm up here at least 2-3 times a month and I love my local places.

The U-pick apple experience was a blast, and the orchard is beautiful, well organized, and family-friendly. We spent hours here between picking apples, browsing the market, and sampling drinks. There is an incredible selection of local products, baked goods, jams, cider, wine, fresh produce, gifts, and souvenirs. Everything looked fresh and high quality, although many of the items are definitely on the pricey side. We also tried both the hard cider and wine flights, which were reasonably priced and a fun way to sample several of their offerings before deciding what to take home. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, and despite the crowds, the overall operation ran smoothly. Unfortunately, what should have been a five-star experience was overshadowed by one concerning incident. After returning from the U-pick orchard on the tractor, we noticed a family parked a couple of spaces away from us. The adults removed a younger child from the vehicle, and it appeared there may have been another child, approximately four years old, still inside the parked vehicle. We fully recognize the seriousness of making that assumption and cannot say with certainty what the circumstances were. However, with temperatures well above 90 degrees, we felt it was far better to report what we observed than ignore a situation that could potentially put a child at risk. What disappointed us most was the response. We informed staff of our concern, yet there seemed to be little to no sense of urgency. Even if it ultimately turned out to be a misunderstanding, I would have expected someone to immediately check on the situation or at least acknowledge the concern and verify that the child was safe. When it comes to a potential child safety issue, I'd much rather see staff respond quickly to a false alarm than risk overlooking a genuine emergency. Despite that experience, Mercier Orchards is still a wonderful destination. The U-pick experience, shopping, cider and wine tastings, and overall atmosphere make it a place I'd recommend to anyone visiting the Blue Ridge area. My hope is simply that management reinforces the importance of treating potential safety concerns with the urgency they deserve. Had it not been for that interaction, this easily would have been a five-star review.

We tried a few items from their beverage menu, including the specialty Churro Iced Latte, Mango Smoothie, and a Horchata Milk Tea. Each drink was well done and I liked the variety. I can be indecisive, but the descriptions made it easy to choose. The atmosphere of the cafe was cozy, despite the large space. It had a relaxing vibe, smelled great also. The baristas were friendly and efficient, managing to serve a solid line of customers within a short waiting period. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail regarding the espresso-to-milk ratio. As someone who is caffeine-sensitive, it was great that the barista mentioned the amount of espresso in my drink, so that I could adjust it. My husband appreciates that you don't just get a cup of "milk" when you're ordering a larger latte. It's a win-win. The Mango Smoothie was also surprising, my daughter loved it and she is picky! I had a little bit and liked it as well. I also decided to try the Horchata Milk Tea, just in case I didn't make it back, and I'm glad I did.
