While in town on business we happened upon the Cornerstone Cafe on a busy Saturday morning. The Apple festival was taking place just down the road so business was booming. Though the restaurant is small and there was a wait, we were seated immediately because of the available bar seats. Our server Lily was the sweetest. Literally exactly what you would expect in a small town diner or cafe. We loved her. And then there was the food. From now on, every biscuit will be judged in comparison to the biscuit at cornerstone. The biscuit was so perfect, that I commented on it with each bite. The gravy that accompanied it was just as delicious. The grits were outstanding and required no addition of salt or cheese. The omelette was good but the fact that bacon bits were used instead of actually chopped bacon strips was disappointing. I scraped as many out as I could. The taste was definitely imitation. Other than this, everything was splendid. If you're ever in Ellijay, GA, visit the cafe!

Staff was very nice, but food left a lot to be desired. All bacon/sausage was over cooked and flavor was not my favorite. Brought 12 people for breakfast and no one was a fan.

Food was amazing. They had fried cabbage which I never had before but will definitely have again. Our server Lily and the chef were so sweet. They were very knowledgeable about the food and friendly. The chef even came out to check how we liked the food. It was a nice experience and very relaxing ambiance.

This was a cute cafe with live music. The food was delicious when it finally came. It was a "seat yourself" establishment, which can be a challenge for quick service. This was no different. We sat for about 15 minutes before being offered drinks, then waited quite a bit more for our food order. The waitress was all over the place, brought lemonades for water refills and charged us for them although they were never ordered or drank by us. We didn't even realize they were lemonades until the bill said we had OJ and we questioned it where we were told that was for the lemonade.....lol. So someone didn't get their lemonade! We were also charged separately for fries with sandwiches that the menu said came with them. So....all that said.... Good: Food was delicious!!! And reasonable (after they removed the extra charges) Needs improvement: Seating is TIGHT. Tiny place with way too many tables squeezed in. Orders are taken way out of order with the "seat yourself" option. We saw multiple people come in well after us that had their food before we even ordered.

I was pleasantly surprised with their food. The restaurant is a small spot with not much room for people to wait to be seated. There's about 7 tables or so. We came in & had to add our name to a waiting list. There was about 5 other parties listed ahead of us & we only waited about 25 minutes (which isn't bad). We sat down & after our order was placed we waited about 40 minutes or so for our food. I wasn't a huge fan of the wait... bc who likes to wait.. BUT everything was fresh & my tastebuds were satisfied.

We had some business to attend to in Ellijay. As we veered back home we opted to stop at a local diner on Main Street USA. Such a cute little town, walkable, eccentric, gives off an artistic vibe. This lil restaurant provided the needed refill as we left the house with no breakfast and A cup of coffee. Simple menu, big on portion sizes and flavor. Biscuits are tender and flaky as one would expect all slathered with the country gravy. I opted similar with two eggs over easy with cheese and bacon bits. Very filling but delish. As we looked around a musician was setting up his guitar for the mornings melody. If you have abs opportunity to stop here, do so. It's worth it.

Stopped in for breakfast Lots of good sounding choices. Very homey place. Nice people. I got the corned beef hash with some over easy eggs. This was very good. Lots of good flavors and crunch. Just the right portion size as well. I finished the whole thing! Deb had the biscuits and gravy. Large portions and tasty! the gravy was delicious. A great spot for breakfast when in the area with great food and reasonable prices and friendly people.

Very friendly staff and delicious country breakfast. Loved the roaring fireplace inside on the chilly morning we had in January.

This used to be called the Ellijay CoffeeHouse House, but is now Mountain Town Coffee at Hemlock Bazaar (hopefully Yelp will accept my edits), and it has a great vibe. There's a back entrance and courtyard which we came through. The decoration is wacky- I don't know how else to describe it. It's old school and nostalgic but strange. On the other side of the wall there's an entire book store that is part of the business. It had one of the most impressive collections I've seen in a bookstore in awhile. It wasn't huge but it had a great variety of genres, and a lot of intriguing titles I hadn't heard of but sought to remember for later. The man working the register was a charm- he told us how Ellijay has their own tv production (which they were playing on an old school tv), a special Bigfoot podcast and more. Lastly, the coffee was, of course, delightful. I had a latte with a little bit of spice in it that was perfect to warm a person up in the cool early spring air when we were there. Had we known this would be such a cool stop I think we would have bargained even more time to just hang and enjoy the atmosphere. I think it could be a good place to sit and do work or read and there's lots of spaces to sit so it's not too loud.

What is it with this particular McDonalds restaurant that whenever you go through the drive-thru…read moreand hand the cashier your money, they almost very often try to keep the small change? Or when you go inside, they aren't able to hand pennies back that are owed to you because they "are out of pennies"? Seems to me this practice would add up to a good sum of extra money for this McDonalds after a while. Today, the reason the cashier at the drive-thru gave me for keeping change is that they put it in the outside Ronald McDonald collection box. Well, okay, but since the box is located outside and just below the drive-thru, and the change is truly mine, don't you think I should be able to make the choice of where I want my change to go? I am very physically able to drop it in the box myself if I choose to. Also, it would be most appropriate and courteous if the cashiers would ask customers first if they mind McDonalds keeping their change rather than saying "thank you" and shutting the window without any mention or intent of not returning money owed to customers. I would be very interested in knowing how much money from this particular restaurant goes to the Ronald McDonald kids since that's the excuse I got today. Is there a record kept of this? Wonder if this McDonalds would give customers their order if customers were short on change? Most of the employees at this restaurant are very nice, polite and courteous, and in my opinion, do a good job. However, I don't appreciate the cashiers taking my money and assuming it's okay to keep the small change without even asking - I really don't even appreciate it when I'm given an excuse. It just doesn't seem to me to be very professional and to be honest, makes me wonder if they are operating on such a shoestring budget that they make be cutting corners somewhere else that I really, really wouldn't appreciate. I haven't kept up with their food scores from the health inspection dept., but maybe it's a good time to start. In all fairness, I have never experienced this problem at another McDonalds restaurant.
