Would love to tell you about the food but stopped in 4 pp on a Sunday, seated and ordered at 10:30 @ 11:35 still had not received our food. There was several table waiting over an hr for food. The kitchen seemed very unorganized and when food did come out they didn't seem to know where it went. There was a sign under new management so wonder if the great reviews were before the change. I would say if you have 2 hrs give it a try. we walked out! read more

Our server was incredibly sweet so this is nothing against her at all, she deserves 5 stars. Food was alright, nothing special. The eggs on a kids plate were just ridiculous lol it had to be like a quarter of an egg over cooked.. there is hardly any room to move, I feel bad for the servers. The one thing that really made me want to leave this was another server who came over to interact with my daughter who is one and a half, of course that's fine.. but she then proceeded to grab her spoon from her while she was eating and put it about 2-3 inches away from her own mouth playfully I guess. She tried to give it back and it slipped and I think she got food on her hand (because toddlers are messy) and then she WIPED HER HAND all over my daughter's arm and outfit to get the food off. I know she knew what she did because she brought us a stack of napkins less than 30 seconds later and threw them on the table. Maybe don't touch people's children? Stopped by for late breakfast on the way home from the mountains. Good quick service and tasty food. Staff wore masks and there was hand sanitizer by the front door. Tables seemed socially distanced but it was fairly slow so that was easy to maintain. read more

The new ownership is great!! Food is delicious - we took our friends there a couple of weeks ago for breakfast. What a great selection, everyone had something different. Omelets, Corned Beef Hash, Traditional Breakfast and one had a Burger with an egg. Will definitely be back!! Good service and they stop by your table to make sure everything is good. read more

There's nothing greater than small little surprises that we find along our Adventures. Cornerstone cafe is located in the quaint downtown district of Ellijay. Your GPS may take you to a spot that is kind of off the map please continue the drive towards downtown Ellijay and it will be in that Center. As you enter you notice in the quaint Interiors with funky decor and life quotes to get your day started one of my favorites was "good morning let the stress begin" and the other one "spare me the drama" and last but not least "I plan on living forever so far so good". Hospitality is on point despite how busy it is servers and cooks are working really hard to get them a good meal they also make sure your coffee is never to low. The food is very Mom and Pop Style Dining: greasy, buttery, fattening, sugary, and oily. I give the food 2 stars but service and ambiance a total 3. If I had to recommend a dish, I would say their French toast is pretty good. read more

With only a limited selection of restaurants for breakfast in downtown Ellijay, we thought we would try Cornerstone. Quaint little place. My partner and I each ordered a cup of coffee (good) and the Keep It Simple breakfast ($7.50) which is 2 eggs, potatoes and a biscuit and gravy. I ordered a side of sausage (2 patties are $4.50) and added onions to my potatoes. The onions were a mistake. First the potatoes are deep fried so the onions didn't add any flavor to them. I'm not a fan of potatoes prepared this way. Plus a teaspoon of onions were .75 cents extra. (Pricy for the quantity). The coffee and breakfast for the most part was good. If we return we would know what to expect. The service was good but we were the only 2 of 3 people in the restaurant. The owner did come out and thanked us for visiting. read more

overpriced bland food in a hobby lobby store. you can only have one type of omelet...period, no exceptions. they also wont split checks...beware of large parties...you are paying for everyone...lol. way to many tables...to tight. i was fortunate enough to sit by the menus & silverware station. i like staff reaching over me every 2 minutes while i am eating. read more

I was surprised at how easy it was to find parking along the downtown strip! This restaraunt is little and I can tell the locals love it, a gentleman walked in and everyone (including other guests) greeted him by his name. It didn't take long for my drink to arrive and my order taken. Shortly after, I received my food. The portions are quite large. I didn't think I'd be able to finish- but like the champ I am I accomplished the goal! I ordered the omelette with onions, spinach, bacon and feta cheese topped with salsa and it came with grits and a biscuit (I ordered gravy for the biscuit.) Deeeeelicious! Here I was thinking the omelette would steal the show but the biscuit was so light and buttery. The white gravy is quite literally the best I've ever had. The grits were..grits, not sure how one can fancy those up. As far as the omelette, I was already well past full with the other items but it was also very tasty, and large. I recommend this little gem when in town. Id like to point out however that the menus I found online (which heavily persuaded my decision) are inaccurate as far as pricing. read more

After reading several good reviews, my wife and I and two of our kids decided to try this place as we were passing through Ellijay. We were met with an enthusiastic "welcome have a seat anywhere". The time to get our food was normal for a freshly cooked to order kind of meal. However, the quality of the food was far below expectations. The country fried steak was not fried long enough to brown the crust, so it had a flour taste. The biscuits looked to be cooked in a deep dish (like 3" deep) and were dry and crumbly inside. The waitress told me she would bring more gravy as my steak had what looked to be about a tablespoon on top. She brought back a small bowl with gravy and said "I'm sorry this is so thin, they just made it". I believe you could have poured it through a coffee filter. My wife's BLT was good, as was my 5 year old's fun pancakes. My 14 year old ordered bacon and eggs, scrambled. He said they tasted like they had onion in them. I have to say I was underwhelmed with the overall experience, which was compounded by an already high (for breakfast) tab of $46.04 which had another $1.73 added because I chose to use a card instead of cash. I will never go here again and I wish we had tried one of the other highly reviewed places in town. read more

Pho was amazing, authentic and the broth was perfect. Would love a thicker sized rice noodle option in the future. Delicious, new owners and good food. Same breakfast and lunch as before but now they have dinner. The dinner is Pho noodles and is amazing.

We eat here quite often, but I've never left a review! Food is flavorful and plentiful here. Service is friendly and competent. Pancakes are huge. Daily specials are always good. I usually get one of those. There's always an omelet of the day and a pancake or french toast of the day. Highly recommend. read more

My husband and I were passing into town from Blue Ridge and Cornerstone popped up for breakfast/brunch. We understand a lot of changes in society have taken place due to Covid but this place had no concern for their health or anyone else's. There was absolutely NO social distancing and NO requirement or recommendation to wear a mask. None of the servers or staff members wore masks. This is a huge concern to me and should be for many others. The customer service was OK. The food- it wasn't worth the price and other than the eggs, it tasted like it had been reheated from the day before. I should've read the reviews prior to dining here. read more

This was my first breakfast while visiting Ellijay. I was not impressed I must say. I ordered something really simple and healthy (or so I thought) on the menu. I feel mistakes should be less so with simple ordering. I asked for an English muffin with no butter. How did it come ? Soaked in butter. Asked for a fruit bowl (priced at $3.00) and what I got was a bowl of thawed out mushy fruit that was dark purple mixed with some kind of syrup (pie filling?). The price point was fine for the food but sub par quality at best. Please don't advertise you have healthy fruit as an option and then serve what I was served. Yuck. The positive is we were not required to wear a mask and the servers were friendly. Place was clean. However, I definitely do not recommend this place. read more

Really need to clean the kitchen. My hash browns tasted like it fell in a kitchen drain Or touched rotten food. It smelled in my mouth and I almost puked. I had to spit it in my napkin. Tried to support, but the place is unclean and food quality is poor. The ceiling is dusty and Lacks adequate prep space looks dark, dank, and unclean. Biscuits are never freshly baked. Seems like a simple inexpensive quaint place, but no. Need to update and step it up. People these days expect better quality, fresh, organic all the way! Update get it together or I will be happy to see you go and a better more trendy place with real chefs replace :) read more

We were craving some good and simple breakfast while we were in Ellijay and this place did not disappoint. The space is small so there may be a wait like we had but once you're seating the staff does a good job of taking care of you and making sure your food comes out quickly. Considering it's just off the main square this is an awesome spot to get some good country cooking breakfast at an price. read more

Did we just get served by a twelve-year-old waiter? Maybe that should have been the warning sign. The coffeehouse down the road sent us over here (as their breakfast menu was a bit limited), and now I wish we had just gotten coffee for breakfast. For starters, we waited nearly 10 minutes until someone took our order, then another 20 minutes for our food. Mind you, I don't mind a bit of a wait if I'm ordering the Peking duck, but this was not the result of fine cuisine but just being understaffed. I selected the French toast with the "fruit of the day." Back home (or any other restaurant I have been to), this would have entailed French toast with a bowl of fruit (or maybe fruit on the plate). Here, it was strawberries drowning in sugary syrup, which in turn drowned the French toast. Made for a very soggy experience overall, and had me wondering why they bothered to bring maple syrup to the table. On the plus side, the sweet tea is amazing. read more

This place was awesome! We went for breakfast during the apple festival on a Saturday. There was a long line but it moved quickly and we were seated in about 15-20 minutes. This place runs like a well oiled machine. The waitress was quick to the table, brought or beverages, and took our breakfast order. The food came out in about 15 minutes. Wow! It was hot and delicious. I don't know if it's a common occurrence but they had some talented local musicians performing live music while we dined. My family and I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant on our next trip to Ellijay. Great job cornerstone cafe! Also, I loved the inspirational and silly quotes hung on every square inch of wall space. Reading them and laughing with the family gave great conversation while we were there. read more

If you would have asked me a few weeks ago I would have given this place a good review. Then the cook stormed out and I later realized why when I saw picture on FB of the behind the scenes of the kitchen area to inclued dead rats, rat poop, food eaten on by the rats. I heard that she had a surprise health inspection so I pulled it up to find pretty much the same stuff in the report with a score of 44 U. It too talked of dead rats, molded food, broken cooler, expired food that she was still serving to the customers. There is currently a sign on the door that says they are cloosed for vacation. My fear is they will clean up there act. Get a new inspection and nobody will be the wiser as to what they were serving. Well definitely be back before we head back home from our vacation in ellijay! Good quality food but at affordable prices. The coffee was watered down this morning and the dining room could benefit from more two seated tables. I was excited about reading someone else's review on some cheese and jalapeño grits so I had to try them. They aren't a staple menu option, instead, you choose the jalapeños and cheese as add-ons. The grits were under done and the cheese wasn't incorporated as much as I would have liked. The biscuits were large and flakey but the gravy was watery and nothing to brag about. We also ordered French toast. It was certainly enough to split and maybe we should have just stopped here. The menu is very well priced and it seems like a very popular Ellijay eatery. read more

We found this place on Yelp as we left Gainesville. (I made an error when I read how far it was to get there! But it was a pleasant mistake, not to mention the road very scenic to get there. They were advertising a Pecan Pancake" for a special. As I had never had one, I ordered it along with my omelette. My husband ordered eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy! We both felt the food was excellent! He felt the grits had a nice texture, the gravy was ok and the biscuit was big and fluffy for a biscuit. My omelette was very tasty and that pancake, in my opinion, was to die for! It was humongous! We couldn't finish it! It had lots of pecans on the bottom and it was huge and fluffy! Our wait staff was friendly and we were served in a timely fashion.The place is quite entertaining as we read all the plaques and signs on the wall. Some were quite witty. Not mention there's an antique store attached. If we ever come back this way, we would definitely try this place again! read more
