Went specifically for the French toast but they were out of the bread pudding so it was made with brioche. It was good but wonder how much better it might have been. This is such a cute quaint place. It's pretty small so there might be a wait when you arrive. Everyone is super friendly esp our server Tammy from Miami. They had a limited brunch menu. The vegetarian eggs Benedict were delicious! Mushrooms added a delicious touch. My kids devoured the pancakes and the French toast. I also had the house latte and it was delicious in a nice big mug. Don't miss out on this charming cafe. It wasn't a great option for a soy-free vegan, but it has good seating for large and small groups. The staff is friendly, makes good recommendations, and will make sure you're taken care of. We visited with a large group and didn't realize we stayed past their closing, but the team was great and didn't try to push anyone out the door. It helped since we felt bad! My wife and I really enjoyed our lunch today at the Yellowphant! It was our first time dining there although we've visited Blue Ridge many times over the years. I can promise you it won't be our last. I had their shrimp and grits and wow was it good. Best I have ever had! My wife had the cordon bleu sandwich which she loved. Do not be confused by the "dogs allowed" all over their Google page and yelp page! Dogs are not allowed here and the only reason they have it marketed is for "service dogs" which you can't legally turn away anyway. My family and I stopped here to eat before leaving Blue Ridge to go back home. We waited about 15 minutes before someone acknowledged us and sat us. It then took about 20 more minutes to order food. About an hour after ordering we received our food. I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage. I thought it was pretty good but I would not get it with hash browns in it again or I would order something else entirely. My kids shared a waffle and fruit. My husband ordered the BLTA. No complaints regarding the food. The major problem was how long everything took. We ended up being there for two hours, which delayed us quite a lot. It was really busy, but 2 hours for 5 people who ordered only 3 entrees is WAYYY too long. I also noticed that other diners were there for 90+ minutes. We have only lived in the area for 9 months and have noticed that there are only a handful of restaurants that serve breakfast. We have only tried a few of them. Today my spouse and I tried The Yellowphant. It was one of the few on Yelp with 4+ stars. If it wasn't for the GPS we would have never saw it. It's located off of 1st street right down from Sue's. We pass it at least twice a week and never really noticed it. Yeah there's a yellow Elephant out front but we never thought about it. First when entering we were welcomed by the gentleman behind the counter. You place your order at the counter. We grabbed a menu and checked it out. Menu is limited. The place looked really clean and tidy! We were the only 2 in the restaurant. Spouse ordered the Simply Start which is 2 eggs (over easy), choice of meat (ham), choice of grits or hash brown casserole (casserole) and toast or biscuit (biscuit). I ordered their breakfast burrito with your choice of bacon, sausage or pulled pork (sausage). We both had their coffee. The gentleman brought our coffees to our table. Coffee was really good! Not bitter nor watered down. After about 10 minutes our meal was delivered. The condiments are located at the counter. Very clean and tidy. The chef ( I presumed was the owner) told us about their hot sauces and notified me that the burrito was their best seller. My spouse commented that the casserole was their best he has ever had. It wasn't overpowering with onions or cheese like we have had before at other places. The biscuit was really good, not underbaked or floury taste. The burrito was huge with a lot of filling! Burrito came with a small salad which was tasty. Overall The Yellowphant Cafe did not disappoint us! Everyone's tastes are different! We will return to try their biscuits and gravy and their frittata which sounded great. We can see why the 4+ star reviews! Having just walked in the door, the warmth and friendliness of this place was felt by the two of us. We were seated and Nandy, our waitress immediately came over to take our drink order. She recommended the latte and it was delicious. Nandy was very cheerful, personable and so very helpful. I can't say enough about how good the food was. My eggs were perfectly cooked, the biscuit was so fluffy, and the bacon was cooked to perfection. What a hidden gem! This place is somewhat off the town square but it's worth the visit. It not only has great coffee drinks but also great breakfast foods; that's hard to accomplish these days. While in the area on vacation from the sunshine state we needed a delicious healthy breakfast to hike the areas mountains, so with help of fellow yelpers we decided to try this little place and what a wonderful treasure this restaurant is for Blue Ridge GA. It was the absolute favorite place we ate at on our whole trip! The food is excellent quality, free range eggs, organic smoothies and drip coffee and amazing specialty teas, my niece had the moon tea and her son had the lovers tea and they loved them. My coffee was strong and much needed. Also the eggs were cooked perfectly and stone ground grits were so good. Everything we had was amazing! AMAZING food! We were a party of 5 plus a small child and everyone raved about the meal they had. We ordered the French toast, Loaded grits, Simple Start and Breakfast with Benefits. All soooo good! The eggs were cooked to perfection, as was the bacon. The hash brown casserole was addictive, my poor husband barely got a bite of it before it was stolen from him. They even have gluten-free toast! The drinks were great too, you can tell they use high quality ingredients for everything they make. I ordered a delicious, not too sweet Chai Tea latte with Oat Milk and everyone else got coffee and said it was some of the best they've had. We needed a couple of to-go containers and noticed that they even use green, compostable packaging. If you want a meal where they truly care about what they're serving, look no further.
