The food was okay but portions didn't equal to the price. Plus the price I paid for a salad only to get a small bed of spinach and an up charge for chicken that should have been included in price. Service was scarce along with the crowd. There wasn't really anyone in there but when we walked in with a party of 6 it wasn't said we would be charged an automatic 20% gratuity until we checked out. Man, I sure wish I took my phone in for pictures to share with you all. We was recommended this spot for breakfast from a lady at the apple orchard. I am so glad we went! There were 7 of us and everything from service to food was really top notch! The know what they are doing in the kitchen for sure! From eggs to grits to pancakes, chicken strips, country gravy, ranch, fries, okra ... EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! Do yourself a favor and eat here. Breakfast or lunch... you will not regret either. This was an okay spot- the service was great, even though their sign says they are short staffed. We got sat within about 20 minutes on a Sunday late morning. I ordered the BLT, but was missing mayo! It was a bummer, but I do like how you can order fruit, tots, or a few other options for the side. I probably would try a different restaurant when I'm in the area again, but it was a cute outdoor area where we waited to be sat. Three stars means okay so that's what BumbleBee's gets from me! The food was just barely okay, the service was just barely okay and the wait time all around was not okay. We waited about 10 minutes then one of the servers put a sign out saying to sign into a spiral notebook and wait outside where we waited another 10 minutes. Yes, there is a very large sign in the window that says they are short staffed but apparently it's been there for a couple few years now so not sure how relevant it is. Seems more staff could have been added by now! Our order was taken shortly after we were seated so that was good! The 45 minute wait for our food definitely wasn't good!! For what we ordered and what was delivered, there's no way it should have taken that long, even if there was only one cook! I got a tuna melt sandwich and hubby got the corned beef hash and eggs. The tuna melt is small, just on regular white bread like at home, and sadly there was no tomato. The tater tots were hot, that's always a plus! The eggs were cooked as ordered but the corned beef is straight out of the can, barely warmed up. The bacon was way over cooked and the French toast was very soggy. We ate all our food, it was edible although very lacking in so many areas. We were just traveling through town so not sure what else is available in the area but unfortunately, I can't recommend Bumblebee's. read more

Severely understaffed, the waitresses are bussing tables, waiting tables, responsible for getting you a table and also for letting you pay at the counter when you leave. Waited 20 mins for a table, waited another 45 mins for food that came out mediocre at best. Then had to wait another 10 mins at the front to even pay so we can leave. The only positive was our lovely waitress who had every responsibility in the restaurant other than cooking! I'm here in town for a few days either my 5 children and my sister and her children. We always love finding food spots that are local to order breakfast for us and the kids. I found this spot and as the food wasn't bad, the fact that a 20% fee was added to my TAKE OUT order because I ordered food for more than 6 people is absurd. I would have tipped anyways, but forcing a 20$ tip on a to go order is not ok. And for that reason we will not be returning to this place. We visited Bumble Bees at the insistence of my in laws who visited on their last trip to Blue Ridge and I am so happy we got to enjoy this experience together. First off, having high chairs is a plus - the ambiance was cute, homey and down right cozy and our waitress was so courteous. I cannot praise the food enough! The food was unbelievable best French toast I have ever had in my life and the owners and servers were nice!

We stopped in for breakfast. My husband ordered the country fried steak breakfast with scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. The steak was a frozen steak prepared when ordered, the eggs were ok although they did not appear to be fresh cracked and scrambled. The gravy was more like an add water style gravy. I had the eggs Benedict with grits. The poached egg was more of a hard boiled egg as the yolk was hard. The Canadian bacon was thicker so it did help with the flavor. There was a nice amount of hollandaise so this made the hard yolk edible. The grits were not edible. They were not fully cooked, cool in temperature and swimming in unflavored butter (margarine???) once the food was brought to the table our server disappeared. We had to ask for a refill of tea from a different server. Only appeared to have two working. It was just edible and nothing to write home about for the $30+\- read more

Waited for an hour due to our name getting skipped, my husband crossed out my last name and wrote my first name right next to it due to him thinking my name got skipped because it is more difficult to pronounce.After a bit we got a hold of one of the servers and explained what had happened so they could know we were still waiting.Then we finally got seated and after about 10 minutes sitting we got kicked out under the accusations that we were crossing other guest names off.We asked if there was footage proof and the server said yes which isn't true, but god knows the truth on why we were asked to leave.I would also appreciate seeing this "proof" after waiting an hour to be seated. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I was really hoping for some good food with this cute cafe but was incredibly disappointed. The prices were high and the food portions and quality was terrible. I tried the Country Fried Steak and it was comparable to something frozen you get at Walmart. Mashed potatoes were chunky and flavorless and the Mac and cheese was really that. Just macaroni with some shredded cheese on top. They just flooded everything with gravy like that helped with any flavor. Nope. Nothing homemade here! To top it off, the service was even worse. We were there an hour before they close but they looked like they were already checked out. I have a feeling it's like that all the time.
