Located in downtown Blue Ridge, this casual eatery offered delicious food and generous portions. Worth a visit when in Blue Ridge.

Serenity Garden Café is the epitome of small town café from the staff to the décor to the food, and I there is nothing wrong that! The vibe and energy of Serenity Garden is one that is line with Blue Ridge. It is slower in pace, friendly in nature and settled in the feelings of the past. We wandered in on a Friday afternoon to grab breakfast, but were sad to learn they stopped serving breakfast fairly early. Wasn't a big deal, so we went with lunch in the form of a couple Triple Decker Sandwiches with fries and onion rings. The sandwiches were tasty, the fries crispy and the onion rings fried to perfection. And can't forget about the sweet tea. The only issue we ran into was one sandwich was 86 on mayo, but was still delivered with it. They took it back, apologized and got a new one out as soon as possible. The place is fairly well sized with an indoor dining room, a small shop and 4 tables on their covered patio that sat directly on Main Street. We chose the outdoor seating and given the weather, enjoyed it quite a bit! Overall, Serenity Garden Cafe was a solid place for a decent lunch on Main Street. While we enjoyed, we won't be adding to our "must visit" list for our future Blue Ridge trips. Solid 3.5 stars.

The food here was ok, average nothing special, the service was outstanding and the place is very homey. I was expecting a bit more from this place since it was a recommendation, but it was your average eggs and bacon, no flair but ok. They sell souvenirs and jams etc.

This is a nice little place to stop if you're waiting for the train ride. You can get breakfast. The service is friendly enough and the food is basic breakfast fare. Nothing super fancy here but clean and hospitable and open early. The food took a good amount of time to get out to us so if you're on a tight schedule, be cautious. They are good in most of the places around here about letting you know if you have enough time to eat and still catch the train.

Any days a great day when you spend it in Blue Ridge! This unassuming family owned cafe was a welcomed surprise! Their chef definitely kniws his way around the kitchen! Really great comfort food and a surprisingly excellent lobster bisque! We enjoyed meeting the family and the food was truly delicious. I ordered their classic Ruben and my husband ordered their hamburger steak with grilled onions and mushroom gravy and green beans with mushrooms... All was so wonderfully pleasing to the palette. We will definitely return as we come up here often. Love Keepin it Local!

First things first -- get ready for a drive. This place is…read morenot just "down the street." It's a journey. But let me be very clear: it is 100% worth it. From the moment you arrive, you can tell Mercier Orchards is something special. There is so much packed into this one location that it almost feels like a small village built around apples and everything that comes with them. Inside the main store, the selection is honestly overwhelming in the best way possible -- home goods, gifts, jams, jellies, preserves, baking mixes, sauces, butters, ciders... anything and everything apple-related, plus plenty of other fruit-based goodies. It's the kind of place where you say "I'm just going to browse" and then walk out with bags of stuff you didn't know you needed. Then there's the bakery. Seven lines. All long. And all moving surprisingly well. I eventually stepped out of line after about 15 minutes, but not before getting a solid look at the pastries, pies, breads, and desserts -- everything looked incredible. Even without buying anything that round, the bakery alone is worth the stop. Now let's talk about the apple picking experience -- because this is where the magic really happens. Riding out on a trailer attached to a tractor felt like something straight out of a fall movie. The views, the air, the vibe -- it's peaceful, exciting, and nostalgic all at the same time. The apples change with the season, and the ones we picked were delicious and lasted a long time. No pesticides, just straight calcium. Fresh, crisp, and perfect. And yes... get a bag or three like I did. You're going to want them. The entire place also makes for amazing photo opportunities. Whether it's the orchard, the tractor ride, the store, or the scenery -- this is one of those spots where your camera roll is guaranteed to fill up. The only negative moment of the day happened when I went to grab some cider and one of the guys behind the counter completely ignored me. I actually had to call him out -- like, "Did you not see me standing here?" Not great. But that one interaction couldn't even come close to outweighing everything else this place offers. Bottom line: If you're anywhere in the area -- or even thinking about making a day trip -- you absolutely have to go. It's a little off the beaten path, so I don't expect most people to just "stumble" upon it... but if you plan it, you won't regret it. This is an experience, not just a stop.

Food was good until my date said she found a hair in her food, we dug it out and it was so long she got sick to her stomach. I then looked at my plate and found two different hairs on my food. Since I try to be understanding I scooted them aside and finished eating. Food was alright, did I expect a Michelin star meal? Of course not. Did I expect cafeteria food? Not really, but that's what we got. We paid (price was murder btw,) and left. That's just nasty, and considering it was my first time at a waffle king, it may very well be my last.

They simply could not have been better if they tried. Five stars if review was on service only! Food was not awesome. My mom's waffle was doughy and a little undercooked in the center. My dad's hash browns didn't have that golden brown crust and texture you expect with diner hash browns. Looking around the restaurant, other tables did, they just missed it for his, they were pale and sad looking. My grilled chicken was obviously out of a Tyson bag, but tasted fine. One thing on the menu that was very peculiar was adding melted cheese to your pie. Like why?? I do not want cheese on my pecan pie, thank you very much. Easy location with plenty of parking! It was hopping and looks like they stay quite busy all the time! If you need a quick breakfast and to fill a hunger, this is the place!

She was super sweet and took great care of us. We were celebrating something special and she made sure our night was memorable. They started us off with the bread, which was absolutely delicious. The ambiance and service were…read morereally wonderful and we were excited for our meal since it was a bit of a splurge for us. The food is the reason for the reduction in stars. We started with the shrimp and scallop fondue, which sounded so much better than it tasted, and the toasted bread it's served with was heavily salted and not enjoyable. My friends had the ribeye and said it was mediocre. I had the shrimp biscuit and only ate a few bites. The BBQ sauce was heavily salted and not pleasant, and the cheddar cheese just seemed like it didn't belong. As a cheese lover, this is the first time in over 60 decades that I've actually removed the cheese from a dish. I took the leftovers with me since I hate wasting food and ate the biscuit with some butter and the shrimp by themselves the next day. It still wasn't very good, but at least I didn't waste it. On the plus side, the cinnamon rolls were absolute delicious and were a bargain at $8 for six! They were the highlight of our meal. We also enjoyed the creme brûlée very much. Since the restaurant is pricey and so many of the dishes were a disappointment, we all agreed that we probably won't return to give it another try. We don't want to risk spending that much money again on a not-so-great meal.

For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. Service was ok waitress took a bit to bring the drinks and then the food took about 30+ minutes luckily we were entertained by talking to locals that we really weren't concerned. Overall, the restaurant delivers a pleasant upscale-casual dining experience with well-executed comfort favorites and creative cocktails. Definitely worth a visit, especially for the crab dip and the Sweater Weather cocktail and the fish tacos those were my overall favorites. Prices are mid range. Note that the restaurant as most restaurants in the Blue Ridge close early.
