***SAME DAY REVEIW*** I've never experienced such a ridiculous and unprofessional situation at a restaurant. We made a reservation on Resy for 7:15 PM while walking to Whiskey & Water. We arrived at 6:45 PM, thinking it couldn't hurt to be early. We were told there would be a 15-minute wait, so we patiently waited. When 7:15 PM arrived, instead of being seated for our reservation, we were told by the hostesses that the manager had instructed them to tell us to leave because the restaurant was now only accommodating reservations. Let that sink in: WE HAD A RESERVATION! When I explained that we had booked through Resy, the response we received was that we couldn't trust technology. Seriously? If you use Resy to manage reservations, how can you turn around and tell customers they can't trust the very technology your restaurant uses? To make matters worse, the two hostesses were just standing around while there were open tables and dirty tables throughout the restaurant. From what we could see, there appeared to be no urgency to clean tables or seat waiting customers. We were standing there with a reservation while open tables sat unused, yet we were being told to leave. The entire situation was baffling and made the restaurant look disorganized, poorly managed, and completely indifferent to its customers. What made this experience even worse was that not a single manager had the courtesy to come speak to us directly. Instead, management apparently chose to hide behind the hostesses and leave them to deliver this absurd message. No apology, no explanation, no attempt to resolve the situation, and absolutely no accountability. We arrived early, waited patiently, and honored our reservation, only to be treated as if we were the problem. If there was an issue with the reservation system or the restaurant's ability to honor reservations, that is management's responsibility--not an excuse to turn customers away. Whiskey & Water, your reservation system is only as good as your ability and willingness to honor it. Telling customers they can't trust technology when they have a reservation is an embarrassing response. Having open tables, dirty tables, staff standing around, and a manager who won't even come out to address the situation makes the entire experience even more unacceptable. There are plenty of restaurants that understand the basics of hospitality: honor reservations, keep tables clean, communicate honestly, and treat customers with respect. Whiskey & Water failed on every front. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money somewhere that actually values your time and business. Based on our experience, Whiskey & Water has some serious management and customer service issues that need to be addressed. We will not be returning. read more

I am a person that never writes a review. When we showed up for our reservation, we were told our table was ready but needed to wait so the kitchen could catch up. That would have been no big deal. Once we were seated you could feel a vibe with the wait staff, we ordered an appetizer and drinks. When we tried to order we were told that they didn't have fresh fish, and only a few steaks. We orderd simple fish sandwich and a shrimp basket, waiter even stated we ordered 1/4 pounder meal deal, this was at 6:20pm so early enough they shouldn't have ran out of food. We received our appetizer after 25 min at that time our waiter said that he knew the kitchen was overwhelmed so he had already placed our dinner order. We received our main course at 7:45pm an hour and 20 min after ordering and 1 hour 45 min after being seated. You could feel the tension and aditude from all the wait staff passing by the table. Several tables just left during our visit frustrated with the same issues. The most ridiculous issue was the fish sandwich was not cooked correctly and thrown together like a McDonalds order, the shrimp small no tails like they came out of a freezer bag. Well I apologize for the very long delay on submitting this review. Yanno life gets in the way... Anyhoo, this place.... Wow... Really really enjoy this establishment. Not only it was on my birthday in which we celebrated. But our excursion to the mountains for the long weekend was a fantastic time. As you can see through the pictures we really went all the way my dish was as abundance of seafood that you could have with an amazing cioppino sauce that was also soppable with crusty garlic bread. The beverages were on point, they have a great menu of bourbons. Will not disappoint. As a surprise they gave me a flourless chocolate Bundt cake to take home with a candle. We recently visited Whiskey and Water Seafood and Bourbon Bar and had an overall enjoyable experience with a few standout items. For drinks, the Sweater Weather was the clear winner--well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted. The combination of Bulleit rye, La Pommiere Calvados, and sorghum created a smooth, seasonal cocktail with nice depth. The Properly Poached was decent but didn't quite impress in the same way; the Brugal Añejo, pear liqueur, dark wildflower honey, and pink salt made for an interesting profile, though it leaned a bit flat compared to the first cocktail. We started with the broiled sweet crab dip served fondue-style with pita chips, which was a great opener. It was warm, creamy, and rich, with good crab flavor that made it easy to keep going back for more. For entrées, the blackened mahi fish tacos were fresh and flavorful. The mango pico added a nice brightness, and the cilantro crema tied everything together nicely on the corn tortillas. The smash burger was another solid choice--juicy double patties with melted American cheese, crispy onion rings, house sauce, and house-made pickles that added a great tangy crunch. The service and ambience of the restaurant were good. I was quite surprised with them charging $8. for a Michelob ultra. That is probably an 800% markup. We ordered the seafood boil, which was supposed to come with a pound of crab legs, a half a pound of clams and a half a pound of mussels, along with shrimp, corn potatoes and sausage. we got five small clams, seven muscles and crab legs with little to no meat in them. We have been to Whiskey and Water on our past visit to Blue Ridge and we had such a good meal. We decided to come back again. We made reservations prior to our arrival and we were seated immediately. As someone who lives in a big city, Atlanta, coming up to just escape is always something necessary. However, coming to this restaurant and getting service from the bartender (as if we were bothering him or he was ready to go because we came in an 1.5 before close, was not on my expectations of being a small town that could really use some business during the slow months/during the week. Secondly, these chefs are taking WAY too much of a advantage of individuals with how they are pricing things right now. Not just looking at the over 6,000 restaurants that are in Atlanta, we know where we can go to get good, great, and exceptional food, service can be hit or miss. Lots of duds and greens, which is expected in our times. But the main thing that is disturbing is the pricing of these items. Dumplings, yes vegetable dumplings, that are probably frozen and then cooked, are $16 along with edamame. Not home grown but purchased from one of your big distributors. As someone in the industry, I KNOW what a lot of these stuff costs and to see the gauging is pretty concerning. Atlanta fish market can run those prices and get the best seafood delivered, because it is freshly delivered daily, along with The Optimist. At the end of the day, it is not about being stingy, it is tourist town and you're gauging prices because you think they're stupid and will pay. It is really sad. Few other things i'll add just to prove my point, beer, peach state is right at about $1.20 a pint, Buckhead usually does a 400% markup, this should be no more than $5. And it is a local craft as to where it would not need to cost almost the same as Bud light. IT it is kind of crazy. One other, one other, Old Forester 86, and there are deals that come with it, when you order a certain amount, even so, a shot comes in at $1.39, if it is a 1L, which is probably is because it comes out cheaper, I think the math can be done. Charging $14 is wild!!!! We had a beverage and then left. You want more authentic service and food, go around the corner to Twisted Tomato. read more

Came here the first night in town with our local friends who said this place was good. We get there and it is busy but not packed. Few tables empty. I make this statement because they told us that food was backed up and may take a while, we didn't mind they had booze. We had a few appetizers that came out sporadically all good. Located in downtown Blue Ridge right next to the general ledger. Warm welcoming restaurant/bar food came out hot delicious. My sister ordered the clam chowder. She said it was amazing. My other two friends had their fish tacos. They eat it so quickly before I could even take a picture lol I ordered the pork belly beautifully seasoned crispy on the outside not too fatty. First off, not sure how to rate a seafood forward restaurant this far inland fairly - but never fear, I'm from Florida and it held up against some of my favorites down there. Second, OMG have the clam chowder!!! Ruined for life and will not skip this - the highlight of my trip. Third, let's cover other sleepers on this menu: cesar salad (amazing fresh dressing), fish and chips (stunning) and the crispy pork belly (best kimchi I've had in a non-Korean establishment). We had a great bartender that made us an old fashioned regular and later smoked. I did the Channel Orange drink. We ordered the minestrone soup and coconut shrimp as appetizers. We started with a couple of cocktails (sazerac & vodka & tonic w/twist of lime) which both were very well made & refreshing. For an appetizer we had the calamari which was excellent as it had the typical squid but also had fried artichoke & lemon which made it different and a believe it or not fired lemon slice is good!! For the entrees, I had the cioppino which was full of seafood (shrimp, clams, mussels, whole garlic in a tomato broth) which was excellent. Was visiting Blue Ridge for a girls trip to the mountains. Whiskey and Water was recommended to us from the local winery. Absolutely loved all the appetizers and the drinks. A couple of my girlfriends ordered the burger and was very happy with it, said it was one of the best burgers they've ever had. My friend and I ordered the scallops and unfortunately they did not taste good at all. Not sure if it was the scallops or the pasta it was served with, still can't put my finger on it if it was the flavor, or the way it was cooked or possibly both. I just know for the price of $45 we had to send it back, which I hate doing. I visit Blue Ridge at least 2-3 times a month and the ambience and service here are top notch. The newest bartender named Allie was super personable and the other young man bartending are a great team. There is a Rumchata and Blackberry Crown cocktail that you must try! Thry don't have it on the menu nor is it named. My boyfriend loved it so he had it as a martini and later, on the rocks. I have eaten here 2 times prior and it was very good. As one would expect the whiskey selection was top notch and I opted for a Sazerac rye My wife began with shiitake bruschetta. I started with Outer Bank oysters. Both were excellent. The oyster were fresh and a bit briny the way i prefer them. The bruschetta was a perfect fusion of flavors. Our remaining choices were scotch mussels and fish tacos. Holly had recommended the mussels and noted that patrons raved about the sauce/broth they were cooked/served in. In that regard she was spot on and the generous portion served as my entree. This restaurant fills up quick and the reviews are certainly accurate! My family and I came here on a Sunday and made a reservation for a high top table (those were the only options left). When we arrived, the table was still occupied so we had to wait a little bit. The restaurant is very cute and probably one of the best restaurants in Blue Ridge! I ordered the Grouper with Brussel sprouts and au gratin potatoes. This meal were delicious!! It was exactly what I was expecting. Just a heads up, the French onion soup is not the traditional bowl of French onion soup. It is a bowl of onions in a broth with cheesy bread on the side.
